Tiffany Bogal: Wouldn’t call this authentic Mexican. Just a step up from Taco Bell. Smaller menu than azteca. I wouldn’t come back. Beef and rice was seasoned welled. Service was good. Large portions. Just very limited menu and meat choices. Wanted shredded chicken but it’s served with onions and peppers. Just like Azteca. Would prefer el charro over this place.

Maria Momeyer: Update - restaurant is open from 2-8 daily. Had a great meal last night, as usual.The dining room is open on Fri, Sat and Sun now. It was as delicious as I remembered it. You have to go up to the counter and order your dinner and they bring it to the table - but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. The food was piping hot, chips and salsa are complimentary, and the service was very good.

Zach Sachs: HORRIFICALLY AMERICANIZED FOOD and atmosphere. “Authentic” in their title is an infringement on all legitimate Mexican food. It was kind of like a bad Mexican Chuckie Cheese… surprised it didn’t have a ball pit. Went super simple, 3 tacos with their beans and rice. Rice was super dry and beans tasted like they were from an old can. Salsa was so bland I thought I was eating red water. Sour cream was like clumpy glue. Only received 2 out of 3 tacos with my meal. Is inflation that bad where I tip/pay your staff then pay for high mark ups on super cheap and my order isn’t even right? Only 2 people were in there eating; pay attention to food orders. My recommendation, drive a little bit further for better Mexican food at The Real Taco. PRO TIP, if your beans and rice are bad DON’T open a Mexican restaurant.

Nicole Leach: Went here for dinner, food was great, exactly as we ordered it, margarita was awesome. I did feel like we were being rushed. We were only there maybe 30min. This was supposed to be a good relaxed meal for a quick date night, but every few min our waiter would ask if we were ready to go or needed to go boxes, within a few min of getting our food. They were NOT busy and it was like 7:30pm. No reason to rush us.

thedandroid: I really liked the food. The burrito was filled with meat, not a bunch of rice and filler. My wife got enchiladas that had some kinda pulled pork on top that was quite nice. The bill was under $40 for two people which isn't bad these days. I would definitely recommend it if you are craving some Mexican food. Ps I had the burrito Azteca which is covered in chorizo shrimp and pineapple, which I was sure about tbh but I really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

PK: We had a party of 9. The waitress was very strange and ended up leaving work and being replaced by a nice young man. So service went from 1 star to 3. Food was very interesting. I wouldn't say there was anything wrong, just a small menu and the flavors were not what I was expecting. It's more of Latin food than Mexican which is what I thought. Rice and beans were very dull and lifeless. Guac was good but a small portion. We were sat in a converted garage, with a mostly naked man mural on the wall. Strange. The main restaurant was pretty nice and chic in design. Overall I'd say if you like tex mex or authentic Mexican this is not the place. HON CHO is amazing in Clarkston tho.

Brown Sugar: Checking out Gran Castor for the first time. My sister and I were visiting from out of town. We were greeted by the WONDERFUL host Lisa. She was super nice and patient, even when it took us a moment to decide where we wanted to sit. We finally agreed on sitting in the back bar area. Our bartender/server, Eric, was very hospitable and attentive. He was also knowledgeable about all of the dishes and drinks. The ambience was a 5, the food was a 5 and the service was a 5 plus!!! Zachary “HiSTiO” Cole: Small space not a lot of seating but really good food. Bonus points for having horchata. The salsa was absolutely delicious so we're the hot sauces. I do wish I got a regular taco and not the red taco or whatever the name was. And the steak was miles better than the pork.
