Nora Gutierrez: We’re originally from California, moved to Michigan over 4 years ago, we’ve been searching for good Mexican food since day one and have always been deeply disappointed even with friends recommendations; and yes, we’ve eaten in Mexican Town and it’s still a let down. This place is as close as it gets to actual, authentic, Mexican food. The seasoning is spot on, the salsas are flavorful, the Michelada and Agua de Horchata were delicious, the Birria Tacos were beyond savory, basically all the food we got was a hit. My husband, who has been the harshest critic of Michigan’s Mexican food scene was beyond impressed (he does not impress easily) and even dared to call this place the best Mexican restaurant in Michigan! That’s a bold statement coming from him but I 100% second that. Buen provecho!EDIT: so this has become our go-to place and although most things are spot on, I’ve encountered a couple of let downs in the menu such as the Flautas and Enchiladas Potosinas. Both had way overcooked chicken which made the platers so rough and tough to enjoy and with no added flavor. Flautas are one of my favorite dishes and I was disappointed that they got it all wrong, the tacos were drowned in lettuce when they should have been drowned in sour cream, guacamole and queso cotija instead, not shredded cheese; that was a major miss. Lettuce should had then been sprinkled lightly to top off the plate, not used as the main ingredient. I haven’t ordered the Nachos but I can see they make them the same way as the Flautas so I’ll avoid those two at all costs. As a rule of thumb, Mexican food does not use shredded cheese nor ground beef so I recommend avoiding any types of plates with those ingredients regardless of the restaurant. Other than that, everything else we’ve tried has hit the spot. We will continue to support this business and by doing so, I’ll continue to periodically update this review.

They were all incredible but that Barbacoa was out of this world good. You absolutely have to try this! Their questo isn't a liquid, and is more like the consistency of melted cheeseNo prices on the menu was a little weird but don't let it scare you. We went to go get our pick up waited in line for about 20 minutes (which is fine) but once I to the front Betty asked me for my name I gave it to her and stood there for an additional 5 minutes and asked if she could just charge my card so I could step aside then the next lady Maria said she would take my card as I handed her my card she ripped it out of my hand and started swearing at me. I asked for my card back declining that I wanted my charge card and that I will just go get food from somewhere else. She told me oh well and still charged my card. I was obviously upset I called to speak to a manger about it and was told they would not do anything because I raised my voice at Maria (only after she charged me card and ripped it out of my hand) if management lets their employees treat customers however they want then I will not be going there again

It was so good that we end up ordering the birds taco pizza. Money definitely well spent! We are given more proportion size of food here than the food trucks in southwest Detroit. First impression of girl behind the counter was not great, she seemed like if she was high and not very welcoming. We had told her it was our first time and she had zero enthusiasm. We Oder our food and sat down . Dine in area was clean but had a very heavy smell of cigarettes. Girl came back with our order , food was Luke warm temperature , rice and beans seemed old, and the Birrias where ok. Girl did bump into our coke drink and spilled a little , she just said sorry and walked away, we had to clean it up ourselves. We will never come back here ever again.

thedandroid: I really liked the food. The burrito was filled with meat, not a bunch of rice and filler. My wife got enchiladas that had some kinda pulled pork on top that was quite nice. The bill was under $40 for two people which isn't bad these days. I would definitely recommend it if you are craving some Mexican food. Laura N: I will be disputing the charge, contacting the BBB, and making a social media post about how rudely I was treated and how I was disrespected from the girl worker. The owner has not even bothered to reach out when his employee hung up on me then called and harassed me numerous times and left me threatening text messages. A police report has been filed. Pursuing legal action.

walter brown: If you walk in and see a girl working, my best advice for you is to LEAVE. She is extremely rude and inadequate of making any order correctly. When I politely asked for her to fix my order, she said it wasn't her problem and that I should learn how to order instead. I will never return unless I know she's fired.

Karen Daghlian: After reading some of the reviews for this place I’ve come to the conclusion that some of you need to understand that the speed of the service is based on how busy or not the place is at the moment of placing your order. Sure it takes about 10-15 min on average for an order to be made, but when there’s a bunch of tickets down the line no order can be prioritized, the tickets are made as they come and depending on whatever you might’ve ordered is how long it will take for the cooks to get it out. You cannot compare the time it takes for 5-7 tacos or a bowl to be made with the time it takes for a Birria or a dinner to be made.Also, if you place an order it’s sure the cashiers job to give you a time frame in which your orders should be ready, arriving late to your food getting cold is completely on you. Overall, in my opinion the food is amazing, clean and the portions are of good size for a reasonable price.

Neither did the consommé unfortunately; it was basically a bowl of red grease with onions and cilantro sprinkled on top.. i was happy there were some onion and cilantro in the consommé though because i requested it on my tacos and they ignored the request even though i offered to pay extra and it was clearly printed on the ticket.. i tried the spicy street corn too but it seemed more like mayonnaise soup. tried this place out of convenience and have now learned my lesson. There’s better out there for around the same price for sure if you’re willing to look around.

Maria Momeyer: Update - restaurant is open from 2-8 daily. Had a great meal last night, as usual.The dining room is open on Fri, Sat and Sun now. It was as delicious as I remembered it. You have to go up to the counter and order your dinner and they bring it to the table - but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. The food was piping hot, chips and salsa are complimentary, and the service was very good.

Donald Jones: This was our first time at Pancho Villa, the food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. I will say it again the food was amazing you have to try it. I give it a 9.5.

Zach Sachs: HORRIFICALLY AMERICANIZED FOOD and atmosphere. “Authentic” in their title is an infringement on all legitimate Mexican food. It was kind of like a bad Mexican Chuckie Cheese… surprised it didn’t have a ball pit. Went super simple, 3 tacos with their beans and rice. Rice was super dry and beans tasted like they were from an old can. Salsa was so bland I thought I was eating red water. Sour cream was like clumpy glue. Only received 2 out of 3 tacos with my meal. Is inflation that bad where I tip/pay your staff then pay for high mark ups on super cheap and my order isn’t even right? Only 2 people were in there eating; pay attention to food orders. My recommendation, drive a little bit further for better Mexican food at The Real Taco. PRO TIP, if your beans and rice are bad DON’T open a Mexican restaurant.

Nicole Pocol: This was a must stop before heading back to Florida! Ordered three dozen tamales. Sweet, pork, and jalapeño/cheese. So good! The masa used is perfectly moist and seasoned. Everything was delicious. Pricing is awesome too. Very friendly workers! Can’t wait to return!
