The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center: what do users think?
Ice Refuarge: Clean and organized but older guy who checked me out was rude! Just asked a question, and he made a smart comment and then asked if I had change? After giving me my money back he yelled next when there was not even a line???
Misty Day: I used to love coming to this store, but today I had the worst interaction with a manager. Not sure of her name but she is black with dreadlocks- I came in to do a return for in store credit- for items that were just purchased on 4/15. I’ve done returns in the past but she tells me that I only have 3 days to make returns- never heard this before. She was very rude- would not work with me at all- people work! 3 days is ridiculous- I asked if I could just donate the items back- she said yes- but I needed to drive around the back of the store to do so- so I did and I was sure to let them know they’ve just lost a customer. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars at this store. NEVER AGAIN.
Linda Cortez: I never find anything im not paying almost top dollar for. The corporation is robbing people. Only 10% goes to help the needy. Top $ for given items ridiculous. Rip off.
R K: Are these prices serious? So many Dollar Tree items there over priced! I seen a candle holder from Dollar Tree for $4.50, one of those small kid activitie packs with mini-markers and a mini book for $2.99. Small Danity necklaces for $15.99, that you can find d at Wal-mart or Amazon for $8. You might as well go to Burlington, Wal-mart, Target, etc. There are no special finds here anymore. SO disappointing.
Amber Craven: Most over priced salvation army I've ever been in.
Randy B: Clean, very helpful staff, but the prices are getting ridiculous for secondhand merchandise.
Tom Drobny: All the employees are very nice and courteous there. They are nice and helpful. The store is clean.
Maelca Duncan (MAELCA): Big one , always giving 25% for Military everyday, they have lots stuff if u have patience to dig 🤔
Emily Trojanowski: Who in their right mind think they should be rude to a random toddler. Then passive aggressively speak about how you would punish the child if you were their parents. These kind of employees shouldn’t be allowed to work if they can’t act like a decent human being.
Alicia Otero: The prices are way too high. I could not believe what I was seeing. Target is cheaper.
helen brostek: Is there a city ordinance requiring that one enters the donation area of this Salvation Army at a specific direction. That’s what I was told. Hmmmmm…
Sara Jay: What is going on with your prices????? Your store gets all this stuff for free so why are you making the prices so ridiculously high that nobody wants to buy anything. I don’t care what it might be going for on eBay, you are not eBay you are a thrift store. Please start marking prices accordingly so people can afford it.
kay marie: We took a ton of amazing merchandise to the drop off at this location, and we were treated like an annoyance rather than shown any gratitude for our donations. A middle-aged aged, blonde-ish, chubby woman with glasses was very rude and snapped at us. Unacceptable 😡
Amanda Rose: Nice staff but clothing and house decor is sparce and outdated
jan giles: I love this store been going for years! Never had a problem 5 for 5 is my day lately no shoe in my size …. By this is my favorite store… Southfield is great to and the fitting rooms are open but limited at both stores the cashier was extremely nice and friendly Southfield has lots of shoes… all jewelry, shirt, handbag, and scarf belt from Southfield store
elana: There’s this old lady that works here that is so rude and disrespectful that whatever experience I have is always ruined. Every time my mother and I do the 5 for 5 sale on a Friday, she always claims one of the tags are switched on a piece of a clothing. It’s not our fault your fellow employees don’t know how to put or replace a tag on correctly. I mean isn’t that illegal to claim something like that?? Of course it’s a white old woman, maybe she’s just racist. She probably liked the clothes I took forever picking out and finding since whenever I see her not working she’s looking around for clothes with her coworkers.
Deborah Koss: Great day to find clothes for us! Kept looking at some furniture pieces...may be back?!
Mazhar Khan: I love this place. You can always find something worth buying.
Kalpana Krishnaswami: I just called this place and the women was really rude
E S: Since these rude employees refuse to wear their name badges, preventing customers from filing complaints against them, I will put them on blast here for future customers to see the scumbags they will be subjected to dealing with at this location. Unless these employees are criminals or convicts who were recently released from prison and are struggling to integrate back into society, there is no justifiable reason to employ such disrespectful employees who lack basic customer service skills. The claim of being short-staffed is equally inexcusable. The male cashier told me to control my crying child. Really? If you don’t like to hear a baby cry, consider playing music over the speaker to drown out his cries. The female cashier was so condescending towards the bilingual customers in front of me. And the prices at this location are absurdly high.
Robin Latshaw: Good deals on some items but I think The Salvation Army has gone corporate. The prices on some things are a joke!! You could go to Walmart and get the same but brand new!!

Grace Centers of Hope Thrift Store Sterling Heights: what do users think?
Txxx Xxxx0xx: This place used to be emptier. (I read that empty review, or I mean the review that said empty space in it.) Now I was in there more recently and there was a lot of items! I was surprised. A lot of irons, and this place seems to have kitchen items that people, like you, I, or your neighbor May use in the kitchen. Which is good for myself, and others. There were movies I think on VHS or DVDs there and a wooden rack full of cassette music. I think it's one of the most filled up places right now in that area. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. I haven't had a bad experience there. I hope this place stays open. The family dollar closed down. I really hope that doesn't cause a domino effect or affect. I'm thinking it won't. I'm going to keep having good thoughts about this place and the other places over there. Thanks for all of the service over the years so far.
Cristal Gonzalez: Friendliest staff and has sales going on every single day! I can’t recommend this place enough definitely my new favorite store!!:)
kristen cole: Must be new management because this place went downhill. Prices are a little outrageous for a thrift store and there’s barely any clothes here anymore. It’s mostly just empty space with furniture and and a few clothes racks. I will not be returning.
Delaney Szpara: BEAVER STATUE SCARED ME OUT OF THE STORE…PLEASE POST A PIC OF IT 3
K P: Best place to find anything and everything! Staff is the friendliest I’ve ever interacted with at a thrift store in macomb county. Yes the place has changed inside but for the better! Things are easier to find and it just looks so modern! I couldn’t recommend this place enough.
Sarah Clare: This place changed inside.
Chris Walczy: Wonderful store, lots of nice furniture, great customer service and a large selection of clothing and household goods. Definitely worth the trip, Come check it out, open Monday through Saturday from 10am till 8pm

CSL Plasma: what do users think?
Brooke S: First time donator and i was very nervous but everyone made it super comfortable. Laura S the phlebotomist who drew my blood made it to where i could not even feel it, she constantly was checking on me to make sure i was doing okay but i will definitely be coming back to that location. Overall great experience.
Gg Thompson: Laura S. the best. She gets the job done and works hard.
Ian Carter: Great service Laura S. Does an amazing job.
Bud Montreuil: The staff is friendly and helpful. I never have any problems. Get there about 8am and there's rarely a wait. Help people and make money.
Ashley Miller: Megan is very nice and professional.
Paige taylor: Laura is always a good help. Always good service.
Randy Spitler: Shout out to one caring professional Laura Shreave.Great experience!
Elaine Niforos: I’ve been going to this location for months. They are professional and friendly and it’s kept clean. Shoutout to Laura for a quick painless stick.
Patrick Roy: Laura Shreve took good care of me today.
Kate Middleton: Love this location! I rarely run into long lines here or any kind of wait, and all the staff are so nice and careful! Highly recommend this location!
Steve Hudson: Best location everyone is great. Miss B and Taylor are the GOATS
C O: Megan & Chris are kind, efficient, and highly skilled. They work great as a team
Reginald Raybon: Megan was extremely gentle and generous during my donation process. She brings extraordinary energy early in the morning which helps the process go a lot smoother
diego gomez: It’s hard to feel comfortable getting your blood drawn, but Megan, made everything much easier. As soon as I walked back I was welcomed with a warm smile and a couple of jokes. And as she placed the needle within my arm, I felt no pain or unease. And as I left she wished me a good day. All in all I was quite impressed with the professionalism of this young lady
ShaRee Hall: I thought this one was better but it's just like the one in Roseville rude bad attitudes employees
Rick Schoenherr: This place used to be very nice with friendly workers. Not anymore seems like every worker has an attitude and they make sure they will show it. Never again am I coming to this place. U don't like ur job go somewhere else.
Kristenn D: The app said the process would take 1-2 hours, it took 4 and a half hoursThe staff was very nice
Ian Russell: Nice place and great staff
GoonterPlays: Gonna have to change my review here. Was really solid up until the last 3 months (11/2022-1/2023) now it seems every time im in this building there is atleast a half hour wait to be screened and an equally long if not longer wait to get into a bed. Also come to find out that the employees here make more on every donation than the patrons (even when getting a bonus) and now instead of 30-40 bucks in bonuses per month. Its a hard cap at $20. I would add a video/photo of the massive line im waiting in. But I cant because of the rules here.
Judean Princess: I will not be returning I went to donate completed my donation not either of the staff members said to me that my donation payment would be delayed Several hours later and literally I completed my donation at 1:50 p.m. I didn't receive my payment until later that night around or after 7:00 p.m. very unprofessional very disappointed with this place and when I spoke to someone over the phone they first said oh it'll take 30 minutes this always happens I didn't even mention it but this has never happened to me before I've never had a delayed payment I will get a text message as soon as I complete my donation of how much my donation is and a confirmation receiving my payment I didn't get a text message and they act as if this was normal this was not normal First they said 30 minutes then they said 45 minutes I hung up I called back A lady who could barely speak any word of English spell my name wrong to look me in the system She was either Arabic Chaldean or Indian couldn't speak not one word of English I couldn't understand anything she was saying but she laughed at me when I said I wanted my plasma back since I didn't receive my payment You can't take something from someone and don't pay them It doesn't work like that. Dead as serious then don't get me started on Alexandria she just does not listen you will tell her you're concern or your problem and it goes right over her head in one ear out the other and around the block thou shall judge righteously in these people are unclean!
Lisa Thomas: Please change the donation system back. This new process takes entirely to long.

The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center: what do users think?
Scott Alan Blanchard: A very LARGE and nice Salvation Army store. Possibly the best store around locally.
Lexidahbest: My girlfriend bought 2 bears from here and found bugs in those bears. The bugs invested her room. She finally found out where the bugs were coming from. It was Atleast 2 months since she has had those bears. Wash your stuff animals and clothes. It’s disgusting. I loved this Salvation Army but now I don’t. (Edit: While trying to file a complaint, the staff was extremely rude, and kept interrupting me while i was trying to explain. She complained to me about how I was JUST filling a complaint even though the bugs weren’t super noticeable and there weren’t that many during the first week or so of having the stuffed animals)
Txxx Xxxx0xx: I bought comforters I was in there shopping for clothes. My experience was longer then I expected I had to wait in line. All of the registers were not being worked at. I used my patience though. I'll be giving you (whoever you are/a worker) a call later. Thanks for the last items and probably future.
Marie Q: This is a nice thrift store, large and spacious, clean and organized. I didn't see any items that seemed particularly overpriced. I wish I was in this area more often.
Lana Brohl: I love this place if you know how to look for deals you can find incredible ones here. Always a good experience I’ve found some crazy good deals like a 150-500$ snowboarding jacket for 17$!
Sarah Clare: All The Salvation Army charge too much for the free stuff they get. I really hate this store anymore. The attitude they have every time I'm in this store. This store has changed as well. Take newer pictures.
Courtney Salamon: If I wasn’t here asking you questions you wouldn’t have a job to pay your mortgage. I don’t appreciate being shushed off like a dog when I ask a question in line ready to give you my money. It’s even more disappointing being a retail manager at a busier larger store and watching two employees laugh and snicker that they can’t stop with cash. I didn’t ask you to stop, I asked a question and got shooed away. I asked for decent behavior to your customers. Two people move cash for security. That doesn’t have anything to do with saying “one second mam I’ll be right with you.” I’m a third of both those workers age and I would be appalled if anyone at my store did that. Tons of cute stuff! It’s a shame that it’s a zoo in there because work ethics is out and not cool. These workers were well over 60 years of age and they should ashamed. Great faces for charity. That’s why you’re there.
Avo Cado: They've started pricing things unreasonably high. For example, Walmart brand jeans from 2005? $15. For real?I've only ever seen one cashier and a line that goes all the way to the back of the store. Be prepared to wait an hour to buy anything and to see other workers who won't help with the line.Their hours changed and they're never open past 7pm now, even on the weekend.
A & B: They had a clean store with friendly staff.
Lon McClure: We decided to go into the store after dropping off a box of items we were done with. We found a nice metal vase for some lighted twigs that is perfect for the mantle. Disappointed that there were no current monitors as I could have used another HDMI monitor. All of the monitors (and there were lots of them) were VGA and/or DVI. On the other hand, I'll bet the newr monitors don't last a day before they are gone. Also noted that they don't accept exercise and handicap items any longer. Probably because of legal exposure.
Nicole Koss: Love this salvation army! Large selection and lots to choose from!
Ed Schneider: Nice selection, RUDE employees. And very very shifty.
Tedd Martin: I use thrift stores for book buying, it has a not so great collection, but on the other side their clothing is super big.
Paulette Simpson: Clean store workers no to friendly, cashier nice. Wow I can go to target ,Burlington or others for prices. Plain black no name sweatshirt $12.99. Looks like they have gotten greedy like several other businesses.
Hayden Jacob: This was a very frustrating experience. I went today to get some stuff for a spirit week costume at work. I picked out what I needed and went to the counter. At the counter I was told I couldn’t buy a vest because it was a 3piece set. I explained that there was no other pieces on the rack. I couldn’t even finish the sentence before being rudely cut off by the cashier. I explained again I would be happy to buy all 3 pieces but there wasn’t any other pieces. She went to speak to the manager and came back to tell me again I needed all 3 pieces. I asked if there was any employees who could help me either find the other pieces or verify that they were not there and was told no one could help me. I asked if the manager could come and help and was told she doesn’t leave her office. I left with no items and a huge disappointment. What kind of manager refuses to help a customer willing to buy. Ridiculous.
phyllis Spencer: I have not been to this store in a while it's not the same less stuff price is to high
C Wilton: I love their selection on CDs and books, the staff is wonderful, the lines are quick and I never leave empty-handed. 😊
B Charles: This location is very clean and the staff if friendly. I have found plenty of nice items while thrifting here!
Nancy Ogle: Great store to find treasures.
H K: This particular Salvation is way over-priced. Shame on them. All this stuff is given to them. You might as well go out and buy brand new.
Robin Latshaw: Great deals at this store!!! ❤❤❤

The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center: what do users think?
Donna Kristine: Pros: Good stuff for reasonable prices.Large selection. They accept cash or credit. Some staff is kind and friendly .Cons: Bathrooms are always dirty and smelly. The boutique section is extremely over priced. Staff is often in the way and hinders your shopping experience. Sometimes, it's impossible to get by. That makes for an unpleasant shopping experience.
S Huyghe: This, like most Salvation Army stores, is CLOSED.
Margarita Ortiz: Good
Ms Tova: Nice , clean, Good service
Kenzie Louchart (Kawaiikittykenz): Large women's selection, not as much children's or men's most definitely worth a stop of in the area looking for some steals . Had a lot of new with tag items. Fairly priced but had a hard time reading the prices as they're handwritten tags.
Janis Holman: I think some pricing is a little high.
Tracie Bock: Thank you to the kind gentleman who works at the donation drop off. He looked through the items kindly and I truly appreciated his friendliness and respect. This location I recommend over going to St. Clair Shores where they are horribly mean.
Holly Smith: I like this salvation army. The manager shannan is very courtesy and professional. She always has thr store looking good and Is very helpful if a customer needs somethingI will definitely be going back here
Nickol Best: I wish stuff was a little easier to find, but if you look you can usually find some really good options.Love the deals and unique finds!
Sophia L: Prices are way too high for a thrift store; you can buy new items for around the same price. The store was clean, but the employees were very unwelcoming.
Michael Robinson: Great bargains. Clean environment. Courteous staff. Large variety of items. Excellent location.
Shoobox: Friendly staff, way too expensive. Stained and damaged clothing still full price.
Earl Roland: I tried to donate some furniture but they refused it but they're selling furniture no better than what I was trying to donate
Kia Arriaga: Just tried dropping a few boxes with new items, and the donations attendant was incredible rude (black, heavy set dude in his 20's). I had 3 light boxes, so I asked if I could put them near the door, he acted so surly, not even looking at me o even acknowledge I was there, told me to wait until they finished unloading a big truck of furniture. Who has an hour to wait around? How awful! trying to give free things for them to sell, only to be treated like trash.I rather put this in the garbage than giving them a penny.
Chesherl Fears: I just go for DVDs and they are great nice sale everyday movies two DVDs for $1
Maurita Grimes: My favorite thrift store at the moment. They always have good stuff. Great shoe and purse selection. Houseware selection is great too.
Samantha Willis: Staff is rude. Come to make a donation during the donation hours and are ignored by staff.
Margaret Taylor: I love it there I'm a regular I try to go at least 3 times a week.
Amy Z: I do a lot of drop offs and I have not been been inside this new location since they have moved , but the displays from van Dyke windows look as though it’s organized much better. Fast and easy drop offs though for sure
Gina Owens: I found it to be rather expensive!Stuff straight out the Dollar store for $2.99 & $3.99
Katelyn Laethem: They don’t know the difference between recommended and required when it comes to wearing a mask.Forced out of the store for not having a mask. And due to medical reasons I can’t wear a mask anyway.

Grace Centers of Hope Thrift Store Warren: what do users think?
Dannielli Robinson: Loved it
C Wilton: They know me almost by name try to come at least once a week
Cheri Garrett: They truly have nice things but what I don't understand is why are some of the prices are so high when it was giving to them for free? I mean it was things that the donators didn't want obviously and if they hadn't donated those things to them it would have been donated to the trash can or curb. I understand they want to make some kind of profit but please be reasonable to the public's pockets about it remember you got it for FREE so please try not to rob other poor peoples pockets but other than that they do have fabulous things....
jon winters: Very RUDE unprofessional workers! Their delivery services sucks! I will NEVER again patronize this thrift store!
Mazhar Khan: Prices are very low and staff is very friendly.
Gerel Buttram: Very good thrift store. Good variety.
Jerry Fawcett: Cool DOG!! Cool STORE!! Love this place.
Co Beadia: I used to really like this one. But they took out their dressing rooms and have a sign out front that they do not have any public restrooms and if you you bring something to the counter that does not have a price tag on it (which most items doesn't have a price) they will NOT sell it. And there where two ladies at the counter one just sitting there talking and the other actually working.
Arianna Pattullo: The clothes are a bit overpriced for sure, but still cheaper than salvation army or goodwill! The staff was super friendly and it's a good organization to support. I benefited from this organization as a child in need, so I will gladly drive out of my way to deliver donations here to pay it forward. Bonus: Found an authentic, autographed painting here today from a popular Chinese artist in the 40s. A treasure for sure! Paid $10 for it!
Cathryn Smits: Incredibly overpriced for donated goods. Don't waste your time.
Nze Bertram Chinyelugo, PHF: Great place to shop for artifacts while helping the homeless. I recommend a visit and patronage.
Paul S (Skip): Very friendly staff. Prices are a little high on some things for being donated. But something are not priced bad. Do like this place though
Romero Jackie: it was awesome
Amanda Flowers: Barley any clothes and the second you walk in the store all it smells like is cigarette smoke. It smells like a chain smokers house absolutely disgusting
Michael Mitchell: Ridiculously high prices. I passed on a bunch of items. As I was leaving, I noticed a 50 percent off everything sign. I just left. Why not start with reasonable prices, instead of having to mark them down? You are a thrift store, and the community depends on your prices to be reasonable. Please reconsider your practice of pricing high, even with 50percent off some items were still overpriced.
Beverly Beverly: Over priced clothing $7.99 for used yoga pants ,$1.25+ for cup lots of vintage stuff.
Nicole Harbert: Love the people and service 💞
Robbie Dew: I enjoy going there once a week!
Toni Craighead: Beautiful everything was half off today!!! I got everything and more I will always come back 💯!!!!
Jacquie Anderson: They could have a lot more stuff to sell if they had more workers. They have tons of stuff in the back with bags up to the ceiling that's been like that for months and no one to open them and sort them and put them on the floor. They also have a lot of carts full of stuff in the back that's been there for months.
Shelia Blazofsky: Great Place. Nice people, and very reasonable. ❤

The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center: what do users think?
A. Stanley: Store is never organized or clean, prices are way to high, not much of a good selection, staff is rude and the manager doesn't make situations better. The manager argued with me over a canister set that he didn't pack properly, as a result I ended up with a cracked canister set. Carts are broken and unsafe and lines are entirely to long.
Linda Shuman: I went to drop off some donations. No one was in line. The man was adding more big boxes outside to load up with more donations. No problem. I waited 20 minutes. After he took the bags out of the back of my car he told me I could go so I asked him for a receipt. He seemed upset that I was bothering him by asking for a receipt. He raised his voice to me and raised his hands and I couldn’t understand what he was saying. So I just left without my receipt. He could have been having a bad day, but you shouldn’t treat someone like this.
Sally Brady: I've been going to this location for years and it was always good. My favorite cashier there, Harriet, was demoted to the back room for talking too much to the customers. Really? She was a breath of fresh air to everyone. And the prices are ridiculously high.
Tom LaPrise: The prices are OUTRAGEOUS. The should be ashamed of themselves considering everything is donated. I've been to quite a few SA, and prices are up for all, but this one is the worst. $45 for standard nikes $10 for a hat. These are almost retail. I'd give 0 stars if I could. Not to mention the line is ridiculous. Not because of great prices. Most people have just a few things.
Alicia Gillean: Huge selection of items! Every time I go in I find something new! The only downside is that the line can get suuuuper long, so don't expect it to be a quick trip.
Nancy Foster: Great place, nice people, good inventory
Lulu: We come here every so often the staff is generally nice. The cashier we got today, Heather, was beyond rude. She yelled at my husband who was trying to put our scanned items in the cart. She had stacked everything too high so he was trying to help. She yelled at him repeatedly not to touch it. While I was paying, She also yelled at him for trying to get a box. Told him not to go anywhere to stop moving. She was rude, aggressive and her attitude was completely disgusting.
Debbie Reynolds: Clean and well organized.Needs better customerservice.
Lynn K: Clean and lots of merchandise.
Susan Gambini: Their shoes and coats are so overpriced. In fact I find everything in the store to be very over price. They get all the stuff for free why are they charging so much for it. If you want to get stuff at a good price visit st. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store on 12 Mile and Stephenson Highway. I get beautiful stuff there a very cheap.
Robert Hannon: Nice location
Amanda Lewinski: Large store and spacious. But prices are extremely high and only 2 fitting rooms open.
Alina Murphy: This salvation army is huge but the prices are way too high. Anything vintage or antique is priced top dollar as if it's an antique store. Such a shame considering they are given this stuff for free. They don't have to price things as high as they do because sales are high. Unlike most Salvation Army's I shop at you have to wait in a line that extends to the back of the store. It's not like this only during the weekend, I've gone on a Wednesday morning and have had to wait in line for over 30 minutes. I am a frequent shopper at many different thrift store locations and I have never seen lines so long at a thrift store in my life. It's disappointing finding one or two items that aren't extremely overpriced and then waiting about 40 minutes to purchase them.
Sarah Clare: Now I remember why I don't going to the store Rochester Hills, Troy. The Prices are way too high for donated stuff. Just ridiculous. Went back last night to see if things changed. Just rude Manger name Amber. I still don't like this store. But whatever no one cares.
Dydee Q: Ridiculous prices. $6.99 for an item that had a retail sticker price of $9.99. Charity, my eye.
Ryan Tucker: You guys have 1 dressing room open out of 7 or 8 stalls. Its lined up how is anyone supposed to try anything on. Poor service
Allison Blackmon: Way overpriced for items they get for free. I could make molasses faster than that check out line
km l: Why does the staff consistently park in the front spots near the front of the store? People who need extra help or have trouble walking don't always have a handicap sticker and it's continuously frustrating that this goes on when this parking lot fills up to capacity so easily...
Amy Markus: It would be helpful to organize by size rather than color.
Lee Moore III: Worse Salvation Army store I’ve shopped at. Manager kicked everyone out of the store at 8:00. I was in line for over 40 minutes but instead of opening up another register with the 3 other employees that were gingerly walking around the store. The manager was unapologetic and showed no empathy towards the 20+ customers in line. When asked for an explanation she blew me off and walked away. This took place on Black Friday.Totally unacceptable and I will be posting this review in the Rochester Hills newspaper and Yelp. Totally Disappointed and will not be returning to this location.
Claudine Marie Nast: Great deals!
