Dan I: Nothing special, but nice mixed crowd. Good location. Has a small outdoor area, too. Inside did not have the usual bar smell, which is a good thing.

David Kuhnlein: I ordered a Tom Collins, bartender said "John Collins" in confirmation, which I should have taken as a bad sign. John Collins is apparently a drink, but I know it as the name of the Michigan Murderer... I'm a bartender, and I have very low expectations of service (bc of how poorly service industry workers are treated, etc.) but the fruit was so dry that no juice came out of it (both the lemons and the limes), and my "Tom Collins" gave me heartburn while drinking it, and diarrhea the next morning. The dust bunnies looked older than me, and everyone in the establishment looked suicidal. Overall, disappointing. My first and last time here.

Gustavo Ramirez: I this place it's one of the best spots I have been here Detroit also since is also LGBTQ friendly. I just had a little incident with my jacket and somebody took it by mistake but they return it next day. Also, the manager is was very helpful and understanding. I would recommend this to everyone that could come here to Detroit.

Erin Breen: Soho is the best neighborhood gay bar! We love frequenting here, staff is wonderful and treats us all like family! Karaoke on Sunday and Tuesday nights are always a blast - and they host awesome parties at 215W next door as well. Definitely recommend checking it out!

Soho can get pretty busy on peak nights and Ferndale would benefit from probably having at least one more gay bar on the 9 Mile block, but it's fun no matter how crowded it is. I recommend coming during off-peak hours and enjoying a relaxing drink in the urban atmosphere.

Tom S: Just because they're gay friendly does not mean they aren't racist. I played one rap song on the jukebox and the security guard shut the machine off. While the song was playing multiple white people were trashing the song. Probably won't be back because I didn't feel welcomed at all and I'm a paying customer just like everyone else. I spent over 100 dollars that night while the old white guys sit there sipping on the same drink for more than an hour.
Cookie Mitchell: Very welcoming, the staff is awesome, even if they have only seen u once they will treat u like ur a regular. Close to home, Convenient location and drinks are reasonably priced my only gripe is food isn't served. Outside of that I found my CHEERS ( if u know u know) 🤗😎

Perri Love: Went here last night with 4 of my girls for the male revue. First and most importantly I was served RAW CHICKEN…I was buzzed and hungry so I was eating it sobering down and realized one piece was extremely gummy and chewy…I opened it up and it was RAW you guys, I mean like someone battered it dropped it in oil for 30 seconds and took it out RAW!!! I advised the woman at the bar who took 10 dollars off my meal. Super impressed at that (sarcasm) I got sick this morning due to it.The male show was also total garbage besides shadow. Super stiff, corny and just wack! Never again. I will never come here again.

Travis: Fabulous place!
Jay F: I haven't been in years and I should've left it like that.. The doorman was talking to the couple ahead of me for a few minutes before he took my money. It took almost 10 minutes to get a drink and the club wasn't crowded. Also the shots servers didn't stop at our table to ask if we wanted one. And I was there for a couple of hours.. POOR SERVICE ALL NIGHT!!!Do better Gigi's!!!
Anthony Wiggins: Came in over the weekend for a surprise treat. Each of the performers were “lit” and made this a very enjoyable evening for us. A very special shout-out to our hostess, Nikki Stevens (a beautiful entertainer and comic gem) who made us feel truly welcome. Though it was my 1st time here, I’m quite sure it won’t be my last.
Gabrielle Jones: Outside of this place being 100% open to people of all kind they are more than friends they are more like family and there’s nothing like walking into a place where there doorman makes you wanna spend a night I love Howard the door man he amazing at what he doesn’t for Gigi’s and they cast is even more loving

They even surprised us by calling me on stage and having everyone say happy birthday to me! I'm upset we didn't take pictures of it but the surprise and support were worth it! Stefan Bogdanowicz: Howard is an amazing person to greet you and meet you at the door.Gigi’s is a decent LGBTQ club, and I can see the appeal on a weekend to spend the evening.Drinks especially their specials are good.Crowd that goes there however is a little clicky and can be difficult to try to meet someone and be friendly towards.
Michael Witkowski: The doorman is the reason I took some friends from out of town after reading reviews about Howard and he was everything and more so welcoming and told us everything we needed to know about the bar and convinced us to come for Halloween and we are so glad if for no other reason the staff and entertainment is great but it is worth it just to meet Howard at the door he is so much fun you'll see if you go....

Steven K: Dancers are fun. FYF is good, but there’s no way to know how many people go until once you arrive. For me at least it’s quite the distance. With covid, and just general uncomfortably, occasionally I just go and turn around and go home or something else to do. I’m not trying to be shoulder to shoulder in a small place for the entire show and shuffle back and forth so people can walk around me. I’m there for a good show not “excuse me” “excuse me”. Doorman can be snippy and blatantly disrespectful at times (the man with glasses). I legit give around $30-$50 in ones to the dancers, sorry I forgot to tip you old man. But to shame me for not tipping you in front of my friends? Darling, you’ve crossed the line. DJ is ok. I’d probably give it 2 stars but I don’t care to be roasted by a bunch of gays. Just trying to be informative of what to prepare yourself for.. it’s really compelling to never return.
Teri Jackson: First time here and the atmosphere is incredible. I immediately felt comfortable and welcomed due to Howard the doorman. He is so incredibly nice and welcoming! Will definitely be back! I’m having such a blast!

Kitsunuki “The Drunken Fox” Inari: This place started out slow but they all made me feel so very welcome. I met Sammy the bartender and the owner and they were wonderful. The pool table was busy and entertaining. The clientale were various and also very nice. I found my bar away from home in Detroit. The area looks sort of run down but that ads to the mystique and wonder of the place. The drinks are reasonably priced as well. I like darkened windows and southern accents this far north. I felt right at home. I found out the the ownership changed under 2 years ago and judging by the niceties it might have been for the better. Hayloft is a gem, a little rough but a gem none the less.

Beautiful remodeled patio..Sammy on the bar for Happy Hour..and Rich and Company on the bar after 9pm. ...seriously this is classic gay bar..and its wonderful..good eye candy too! Nice crowd..great drinks..friendly place. .it will become my new go to place. .especially Happy Hour afternoons!

The bar tenders are very friendly, especially Tim. We even talked with the owner, J(sp?), another very friendly person. Nice prices as well.
Dale McGaffey: Most fun Gay club ...very inclusive and one can meet amazing people here. The owner does its best to keep all patrons safe and feeling like a family. The service one gets here is also good.
House of Selene: First time as a new resident to the area. The funny thing is that we were not the only to one's to enter and walk out very quickly. This place is in desperate need of renovation/update/cleaning. It was depressing in there. I hope the owners see that this comment is to improve the business. LGBT businesses can do better.
Kevin Nunn: The Hayloft used to be great! Now, it's not. Sundays were the best because Jason would have Showtunes Sunday all day! Now that he's gone, so are the Showtunes. The new staff has zero personality and can't carry a conversation. I would've thought that with new ownership maybe the place would get cleaned, new paint, something... But no. Nothing. The drinks are strong and cheap. I'll at least give it that compliment. I miss what this place used to be years ago. Those days are gone.

diamond dominguez: Love this place! Nice mature mixed crowd.This placed opened in 1980. In 1988 I moved from Detroit to Los Angeles. I'm a African American male. I've gone to many Detroit bars in prior to moving to L.A. but I never even knew the Hayloft existed. Just last month I was visiting family in Detroit, and a friend told me about this place.The Hayloft has a more mature mixed crowd (35 to 60, black, white, hispanic) just like what I've become used to in L.A. The ambience is Casual, Fun, Friendly, but not over the top with drama. Good drinks, decent music, and friendly bartenders. Even the security guy in the parking lot was friendly and helpful.I'll be coming back to Detroit this coming Thanksgiving with my partner. The Friday after Thanksgiving, I will definitely be stopping by the Hayloft again. If you're an interracial gay couple visiting Detroit, you'll find yourself quite comfortable at this place.
