AmeriGas Propane: what do users think?
Sarieh Gmitro: Never shows up on time.
Isaac Valadez: Constantly missing my service dates. I have to contact support almost every time to get propane tanks refilled. I have filled up the propane tanks myself multiple times and will have to do it again this week if You dont get my tanks refilled by tomorrow.
David Murphy: Ran out of propane for 5 days, and got nothing but the customer service script run around.Only reason we got a refill was due to my wife going to the depot and catching a driver's ear.Been a customer for almost 40 years (through the original Dix-O-Gas), and last time you failed to refill in 2017, you were there the following morning and gave a free refill, and were apologeticNot this time, $100 voucher and when complained, was told the usual was $25, and the attitude that I should be grateful for that. And this on a program where you should have refilled at 30%, and by your website you thought I was at 8%. Considering other suppliers, since you don't appear to consider your customers that important. BTW, this was coming up to Thanksgiving, which almost got canceled since no hot water, since no propane.
Ivan Dominguez: No customer service & pricey. They need some competition even if it’s mediocre
Stan Johnson: We have a national account to service several of our facilities scattered over a wide area. Generally, Amerigas is good about re-fills (if sometimes a little slow). However, the low rating comes from fairly poor customer service I've experienced over the last 6 months or so.While I recognize that our local Amerigas office is permanently closed, and that the pandemic gutted their staff--both of which I can excuse as beyond their control--my concern is with unkept promises.I tried to arrange for new tank installation at one of my facilities months ago. After weeks of trying to get on the schedule, they finally phoned me to inform me that installation would happen either just before, or shortly after Labor Day, 2022. Unfortunately, I never heard back from them, and no install occurred, despite that a truck did come to the facility to fill up existing tanks soon after my call.I've phoned several times, since July 2022 and each time I get the same story: "We apologize for the inconvenience. I'll escalate this to my supervisor. Our installer will contact you ahead of time."The last time I spoke with a rep she was a little more responsive, and said she'd personally stay on top of this, and get back to me within a day. That was 8 days ago, and there has been no call.I get that Amerigas may not be able to resolve short staffing issues, but making promises is certainly within their control. I'm disappointed they made at least two promises they never kept. We're still without fuel, half a year later, and the apologies all ring hollow.I'm already in the process of finding another provider; we aren't in a situation where it's wise to be without propane for long. However good Amerigas once was, it doesn't seem to be there anymore. I can't recommend them, based on my experience.
Kimberly Baker: Very poor service, improvements are needed in every aspect of the ordering process. Wait times on hold are beyond acceptable and 9 times out of 10 the representative is unable or unwilling to assist the customer. We were quoted delivery within 7 days and it took 30 days before we received our order and this is with multiple calls to customer service and finally the order being expedited. I don't know how a company can stay in business when they deliver such poor service. Hopefully this will be the last dealing with AmeriGas, we are looking for our propane elsewhere.
Shad Prigmore: If you're thinking of using them for propane, do yourself a favor and choose someone else. We tried for 2 months to get a tank. Was told multiple times it was on its way and would be there that evening. The costumer service is horrible and from overseas. They barely speak English. Do yourself a favor and stay away from AmeriGas!!
Justin Snape: Absolute worst experience dealing with a utility company. I was hung up on among other things without me being rude. In addition they must use a foreign call center as I had to repeat myself numerous times and I couldn't understand what they were saying either. I had to call 5 times just to get the situation resolved. Absolutely Ridiculous!!!!!!
General Marine Utah: Company is difficult to deal with. For years, we've had nothing but troubles with amerigas. We use a forklift and use quite a bit of propane out of the cage we rent from them. Honestly the biggest problem is they will never guarantee a truck driver will deliver propane to our dealership at the time they claim it will happen. We have ran out of propane from the cage they fill numerous times. I have to go fill tanks myself just so our forklift is operable. If we get low on tanks in the cage. I'll call amerigas customer service, tell them I need a driver within the next week to come by and fill the tanks - that's it. I'll have at least 2 tanks remaining, giving them plenty of time to come fill up the rest of the empty ones before we run out. Customer service will always swear that a driver will be there on time on this specific day. That never happens. In fact, this has never happened. Drivers are always 1-2 weeks late. Call customer service again and again - and all they can say is "sorry". They re-schedule another time for the driver to come out, which still does not happen in a timely manner. It becomes laughable after a while. I've even been told "The truck is in route and on its way to your dealership location today" and they still won't show up.Sometimes, when the driver actually shows up to fill the tanks, I'll go switch out some tanks the next day and I'll find broken knobs on the end of the tank - which causes all of the propane to leak out. Now were short on tanks to begin with. Did the driver not care to even check to see if these things are broken/leaking? It's wasted propane right off the bat.I read all these other reviews, it seems I am not the only one that this happens to.I also don't tend the leave bad reviews. I guess I'm exhausted from trying to call them so many times pleading to get a driver here asap to fill our tanks. This hasn't happened once, or even twice, or even three times. This is a monthly occurrence that has been happening for years. The problem is, nothing will change. The best part about the customer service is they offer "Expedited" delivery from drivers, and they guarantee they will be there that day - but I have to pay additional charges for that to happen. I'm sure if I ordered that the driver would show up in a jiffy!
Troy Troy: Been out of gas for weeks now been trying to get a delivery but they never show up. Call center always promised a delivery within 24 hours.have been promised 12 times the gas was coming but no one shows up have been a customer for 30 years now changing to another company. They have become the worst company to deal with!!! Do not use them
sandra phillips: We have gotten propane for the last 20 years from Amerigas, but now with the local Salt Lake City office closed the service can only be described as nonexistent. I have called at least 7 times and always excuses - we will put a rush on it - transfer to the highest priority- etc ! - and still no delivery. Will have to go with another company once our tank is empty!! Do not use Amerigas!!
J J Kent: I wish negative stars were an option. Amerigas has horrible customer service. For years they couldn't figure out our correct billing service despite several calls to correct it. We cancelled service and now have one of their 1,000 gallon tanks sitting in front of our property waiting for pickup since March 2022. They won't come pick it up. We offered to buy it, they said no, it's just sitting in front of the property, several requests to have it removed with no action taken. Amerigas has to be the worst run company in the United Sates of America.
Gregg Freeman: These guys have been telling me that my delivery is on the truck 4 different times and my in-laws are about out of propane. Their customer service is absolutely the worst. They lie to you and ignore customers.
Jeremy Bennett: I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY PROPANE CYLINDERS FILLED SINCE TUESDAY, JUNE 14TH. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD DO A 24 HOUR EMERGENCY DELIVERY AND I HAVE STILL NOT GOT MY REFILLS. I CALLED THAT WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY, MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, YESTERDAY AND TODAY WITH PROMISES ON EVERY ONE OF THOSE DAYS THAT I WOULD HAVE A GUARANTEED NEXT DAY DELIVERY AND THAT "YOU WILL BE OUR FIRST STOP" AND I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN FILLED. I WORK FOR A LARGE COMPANY THAT HAS A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF CYLINDERS THAT WE FILL MAKING THIS COMPANY ALOT OF MONEY AND I AM NOW STARTING TO THINK ITS TIME TO SEARCH OUT A MORE PROFESSIONAL, PROMISING COMPANY THAT WILL STAND BY THEIR WORD AND NOT HAVE ME SITTING WITH 6 FORKLIFTS NOT WORKING AS WE ARE OUT OF PROPANE!!!
Miguel Vazquez: Customer service is garbage. You're on hold for too long. Every appointment is always two weeks away and most of the time they're no shows. Half the time when they show, they don't fill the tanks. When you call looking for an answer as to why they are terrible at their job, they give nothing but excuses that make no sense. From what I've seen on the reviews, they will answer with some generic computer created apology. Even their PR is bad. These guys are so bad, you will probably fill up your tank with gas faster by farting in it than waiting on these clowns. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
Charlie Nelson: I usually don't post negative reviews, but if I could give them negative stars I would. We got our tank installed over a month ago. We had to schedule 5 times to have the tank filled following the install, spanning over a 2 week period following the install. We FINALLY got someone out there to get it filled, AND THEY DIDN'T HOOK THE TANK UP. So we're stuck without gas STILL. They have terrible customer service, it's always we're sorry we'll schedule it (for the regular time frame, forget about emergency help if it's their fault. You can pay for it if you want at a whopping $200-$300). Every time you call you have to explain the whole story again, even when transferred.I'm now on the phone after being told someone would be out today to complete the hook up and they're telling me that it was never scheduled. I'm currently on hold with a manager who is telling me they never scheduled it for today and actually can't have someone out today so they're checking to see when they can.My intention in writing this is to save others from the headache of dealing with them. This company is HORRIBLE to work with and I don't know how you could stay in business treating customers like this.
1 RSW 2: Horrible customer service now that they have outsourced their local people to a far away call center. They are a terrible corporate partner. Go to anyone else. Right now I am on a 10 minute hold, third call for the day just trying to get my forklifts propane tanks filled up. Can't wait to drop these guys. The response below is the same thing you hear from their call center. Let me escalate this, making the customer feel like they are getting somewhere. Then nothing. This company laid off all of its sales people, the local points of contact. You can't even go to their physical place of business and talk to them. This wasn't to make it easier for them to focus on customers, it was to cut costs. Amerigas needs to realize that they need to bring back account and sales reps, immediately.
Randy Holley: I work for a major university here in the salt lake valley.... I have been trying to get for almost 3 weeks to have them fill up our propane... I was told at one point they showed up and no one was here when there I have a hundred employees in the building that day... I can honestly say I will never ever recommend or use these guys again... It mind boggles me that they have guaranteed business more so than most clients because we consume so much propane and yet they just don't seem to care totally mind-boggling.... Wow!!!!!
Lyo Shares: Asinine to have a refill station with a cheaply printed sign admitting they are to lazy to do refill. Then cal ranch doesn't have any trained to refill your tank. Wasatch gas it is from now on!
Mercedes Barton: WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! Our tank is broken and we cant get anyone to fix it!! Called multiple time and everyone you speak to is useless! They don't want to help at all! NEVER USING THIS COMPANY AGAIN!!!
Angie Milner: Don't waste your time going here, they don't do individual tank refills anymore. They have all the stuff to do it, but no.
