Usually I use this store for drive up orders and 9 out of 10 times they are already outside waiting for me when I get there! They are friendly, efficient and so kind! I also want to commend whoever opened the store on December 23rd. I am a known procrastinator and was out at 7am shopping, target being my first stop. Every single employee that saw me said hello, had a smile on their face and wished me a happy holiday. To show up in a snow storm, still happy and helpful made my whole morning!

I'm writing this review as I stand in a checkout line that goes down a third of the store after having already waited a while in line. There is nobody at any of the 8 registers and everyone is bottlenecked to the self checkout.

Larry Larry: I was looking forward to trying this place and heard only great things. I ordered 5 beef and 5 chicken tacos. They told me 7min, it took 30min. The worst part was not the wait. The worst part was watching the cook wipe, pick and blow his nose while cooking my food. I stood there and watched him do it 3 times and he saw me see him but that didn't stop him. Disgusting. The food might be great and I'm sure it's better if you don't see what I saw but I'll never know.

Las tortugas in general (the market or restaurant) has the best authentic Mexican food in the area.My 3 stars is specifically for the market location. It used to be a restaurant until they added a location just south of hall rd. The new location is the restaurant now and this is just a market with their more basic foods (tacos and what not). However, since they made this change, it seems like the market is really unorganized. I order ahead every time and show up on time only to wait in line for my food and then wait in line again to pay, spending a half hour or more in the store. When this becomes more efficient, they will definitely be 5 star at this location.If you don't mind the wait, go here.If you don't want to wait, just go to the restaurant, they also do pick up orders.

The family who own and run the store/cook the food are very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick, casual meal, or if you need to do some specialty shopping.

Anthony Martin: Authentic tacos on my side of town. Here you can get hot food as well as buy things that you won't find in the regular grocery store. I like that they have the pre-made michelada cups to just add your beer to.

The tacos are so good, the Carne Asade is some of the best I've ever had. The menudo is delicious. The place was clean, the staff friendly. I'll definitely be going again several times.

E Grace: Happy to have found a local market that stocks products I need for Cuban / Puerto Rican dishes as well as som Hispanic dishes that I make- Saves me a trip to Westland ( although my WL fave still have the best street tacos)- it truly reminded me of the small bodegas in our neighborhood when I was a child. I was hoping to find more of a selection of fruits and veggies- peppers- but definitely as far as needing beans, spices, seasonings, salsa, hot sauce they definitely had a selection- THANK YOU!I think street tacos are very subjective in preparation, seasonings, the cilantro, the onion even the corn tortilla- I have never gone to one authentic Mexican place and received the same type of street taco, which I wouldn’t expect to and I love that. These for me were hit/miss me- I had a steak and the Birria- my husband had a chicken and a steak- we both liked the steak and I liked birria -Unfortunately the cilantro on our tacos wasn’t fresh so we didn’t get that nice vibrant flavor that can come through with fresh cilantro- and it effects the flavor…my husband thought the chicken was a little on the dry side and not as flavorful as the steak- they give you an option of a mild or hot salsa. Our preference is Valentina so we just put that on when we got home.😄We we’re full after two tacos ( even after removing one layer of tortilla) they fill the tortilla with meat so the price is very fair-if I don’t feel like driving to a couple of my favorite places in Westland definitely I would come back here again.
