Chuck Bral: Have been back twice because my new glasses are not clear. I need a recheck on the prescription. I spoke to a manager and he was supposed to schedule an appointment but never did when the day and date came. I called and rescheduled, they cancelled on me the day of that appointment. So now I’ve have another appointment next weekend. So from my first appointment to now maybe the fifth time is the charm. So disappointed in glasses that cost $700.00 after insurance.

So, some years if our frames are in good shape we just replace the lens. We were told a new policy is you would keep our frames for new lens for at least 2wks. And to use back up! Don't have back ups. Donate them through you guys. AND my current ones are not working well. My back ups would be worthless! So not happy I had to spend extra money for both of us for new frames when they were not needed. We may have to stretch out our visits longer from now on. Otherwise still like the office.

Janet Andrew: I had cataract surgery this summer under the supervision of Dr. Jay Novetsky of the Vision Institute of Michigan in Sterling Heights. I had few expectations, just worries because I only have strong vision in one eye, the other is a "lazy eye" from childhood with limited sight. The results were astounding! I considered it a miracle that my strong eye was now back to 20/20 without glasses -- while my lazy eye currently has 20/100 vision, much better than earlier. I now only need to use reading glasses instead of glasses that I wear constantly. I highly recommend Dr. Novetsky and the great staff at the Vision Institute!

The improvement to my vision was radical. In 2021 Dr. Novetsky performed a cataract removal from my right eye.I am thrilled to say I now have 20/20 vision. John Wittersheim: I walked in with cataracts and poor vision in both eyes after 55 years wearing glasses with strong prescriptions. Now, no cataracts or glasses and perfect 20/20 vision in both eyes! HD TV is amazing again, and instead of indistinct blobs of green, I can clearly see fluttering leaves on even distant trees. Vision Institute of Michigan is amazing. The doctors and entire staff provided a very comfortable environment... and they all worked together in a professional and extremely efficient way that made my visits enjoyable. They were equipped and able to take me from start to finish all out of their own facilities as well. Exceded my expectations and I wouldn't go anywhere else for my future vision needs. Note: I take reviews seriously and only submit for those businesses that distinguish themselves above and beyond what would be expected

Dr. Novetsky knew I was a bit nervous about this procedure, but he calmed me down, and as a result my fears went away. I also would like to thank Boo who was always available and answered any questions that came to my mind. wael victor: I had an appointment on 11/23/2022 and I was sick I called the office to reschedule the appointment because I was really really sick and I reschedule to 12/7/2022 and after attending the appointment by couple days I received bill regarding I missed the appointment for 11/23/2022 which is I already reschedule it to new date appointment. I called them to figure out why, and they told me that I had missed the appointment. When I went to my appointment, my time was 12:50 pm, and they got me in at 1:30 thats ok for that, but if I call to reschedule, they will charge me $20.

Sean Whitaker: I understand that this is supposed to be a professional place of business, but based on how I saw Dr. Sheldon L. Gonte demonstrate his behavior when I was in the lobby 35 minutes ago, I can say that it was more than unprofessional. To ridicule someone for having a medical issue in the lobby by commenting something along the lines of, “in all my 33 years this has never happened..” is not only rude but also very disrespectful. He then proceeded to comment about how the person in the lobby could have taken their medical issue somewhere else, but as I watched this unfold, the young lady in the lobby that was having this medical issue was incapable of doing this. I am appalled at how badly Dr. Sheldon handled this situation without taking into consideration how the person who was having the medical issue felt in this situation. I could tell that the person was very uncomfortable and for Dr Sheldon to passive aggressively ridicule them for having this medical issue in the lobby, was very unprofessional. Dr Sheldon did however reassure the person that he understood what she was going through, but he was in no position to understand the embarrassment that he put this young lady in. I hope that Dr Sheldon can take the time out of his day to have some compassion for people that have medical issues like this and also rethink the way he handles these types of situations.

I had always had my exams and eyewear done at our office but after retiring in 2013 I had not found a good optician. My friend, also an optician, suggested Dr. Schwartz.I was very pleased with the friendliness of the staff from the moment I walked into the office. My exam was very professional and they seemed to have the latest equipment. The opticians were very knowledgeable and patient. Darla helped me sort through numerous pairs of old glasses helping me decide which to donate. I picked up my new glasses today and the vision and fit were perfect. I would definitely recommend this office.

They went through all my options and were focused on the better value versus trying to sell me. Truly looking out for me to save money instead of their profits.

Natasha Thielen: This is a very friendly practice. I believe they do a thorough job with examinations. My only disappointment was what I thought were unfair charges when I was working with the Dr to figure out if contact lenses would work for me. When I requested a different sample (5 contacts), they charged $60 for an office visit. I didn't see the Dr, just picked these up from the front desk. That's pretty steep. Then during my recent eye exam I wanted to finalize the choice of contacts. My prescription slightly changed, so it would be a new set of sample contacts. I was charged and extra $160 for evaluation. I think it would have been ethical to inform me of this extra charge before proceeding the discussion. I may not have gone through with this, as I am not even planning to use them regularly.

I've been to other ophthalmologist who tell me 'nothing is wrong, try these drops'. Dr. Agatha explains how the eye works and shows me the reasons for my symptoms.

Lou: I was looking for a second opinion-Dr. Agatha chose to perform the same tests-redundant in nature-and a full exam-that I had at another eye center. She told me there would be only a couple tests-she is not true to her word. I was mislead-she did not honor our a previous conversation I would not recommend this eye care center-a multitude of tests are taken--testing in particular to previous tests are not explained- obviously she did not believe in a consultation- $500 later-I think the focus of this practice is financial and not patient care.

Julian Jones: Dr. Agatha Obertynski and here staff are very professional and welcoming. I had a severe eye issue due to excessive contact wear. I nearly lost sight in one of my eyes. She performed very thorough testing and explained everything in great detail. It tool sometime to remedy, but the damage nearly caused me vision lost in one eye. A great eye doctor that cares and takes the time to develop a great rapport. If you're looking for a new eye care doctor, try this place. The staff is friendly and welcoming as well.
