Chuck Bral: Have been back twice because my new glasses are not clear. I need a recheck on the prescription. I spoke to a manager and he was supposed to schedule an appointment but never did when the day and date came. I called and rescheduled, they cancelled on me the day of that appointment. So now I’ve have another appointment next weekend. So from my first appointment to now maybe the fifth time is the charm. So disappointed in glasses that cost $700.00 after insurance.

So, some years if our frames are in good shape we just replace the lens. We were told a new policy is you would keep our frames for new lens for at least 2wks. And to use back up! Don't have back ups. Donate them through you guys. AND my current ones are not working well. My back ups would be worthless! So not happy I had to spend extra money for both of us for new frames when they were not needed. We may have to stretch out our visits longer from now on. Otherwise still like the office.

Trisha Swan: I was referred to Dr Gappy by another PO that was unable to see my son in a timely manner - I brought him in sometimes in may and I felt incredibly dismissed. He didn’t address any of my concerns - we came in because my son was complaining he couldn’t see things, standing incredibly close to the TV, books, his homework, ect and having daily headaches. We left being told “his eye sight was normal for his age.”I continued to watch him - his behavior remained the same and his headaches worsened - he had already been cleared of any physical issues - I called the office where I again was dismissed and told his chart said his vision was normal for his age. My 6 year old continued to struggle with reading, writing, daily headaches and a constant complaint of not being able to see. They offered to see him a second time “just to confirm” but being that I felt extremely dismissed and we didn’t have insurance I didn’t feel his time or the effort he put into the first visit was worth an additional 125$I was finally able to seek a second opinion and it turns out my child is farsighted and needed glasses - he has them now and is such a different kid, no more headaches, no more complaining he can’t see, and he’s starting to read and write more confidently (likely because he can see what he’s reading) - I would absolutely not recommend this provider.

Basically, his outer eye muscles were very strong causing his eye to turn out at different times. Dr. Gappy monitored his eye , suggested eye patches and then suggested outpatient eye muscle surgery. With how confident and knowledgeable Dr. Gappy is, we trusted him to perform the laparoscopic surgery for our son. It has been about 2 months post surgery and my son’s eye is just as perfect as anyone else’s. This surgery saved him lifelong complications with his eyes. The recovery was amazing and the results even better. Finally, I found a strabismus specialist who recognized the level of disability I had been living with for years. Dr. Gappy and his certified orthoptist Kylie Chrustowski expertly measured my vision, listened to my concerns, and offered a fresnel lens to wear in my glasses that simulated the result I would have with surgical correction. Only when I was absolutely certain that eye muscle surgery was what I wanted (it's scary to trust your eyes to a surgeon) did we schedule surgery. My result was phenomenal – better than expected. I can drive again. I can read again. I can SEE again. In addition, Dr. Gappy and all his staff are friendly, respectful, and helpful. I can't say enough good things about my experience with Central Eye Care, and will tell everyone who will listen how pleased I am with my result. In a situation where excellent health care matters, and health care dollars are carefully spent, it's great to know that there are physicians like Dr. Gappy who work hard and who care about their patients. Five stars - and I can see them clearly!

I've been to other ophthalmologist who tell me 'nothing is wrong, try these drops'. Dr. Agatha explains how the eye works and shows me the reasons for my symptoms.

Lou: I was looking for a second opinion-Dr. Agatha chose to perform the same tests-redundant in nature-and a full exam-that I had at another eye center. She told me there would be only a couple tests-she is not true to her word. I was mislead-she did not honor our a previous conversation I would not recommend this eye care center-a multitude of tests are taken--testing in particular to previous tests are not explained- obviously she did not believe in a consultation- $500 later-I think the focus of this practice is financial and not patient care.

Julian Jones: Dr. Agatha Obertynski and here staff are very professional and welcoming. I had a severe eye issue due to excessive contact wear. I nearly lost sight in one of my eyes. She performed very thorough testing and explained everything in great detail. It tool sometime to remedy, but the damage nearly caused me vision lost in one eye. A great eye doctor that cares and takes the time to develop a great rapport. If you're looking for a new eye care doctor, try this place. The staff is friendly and welcoming as well.

Carol Oconnor: I have been a patient of Dr. Rolain for many years and always found him professional and highly competent, giving full and helpful explanations. Recently I had symptoms that needed to be addressed on an emergency basis. Dr. Rolain went out of his way to schedule me in even though he was leaving for a medical conference. I really appreciated him going above and beyond for me.

Dave Dokman: Seen flashing in my field of view and discomfort in my rt eye- called my old Opthamologists (4 in office). Asked is this a serious concern and do I need to go to emergency or do they need to look at it. They said they would look at it and will call back after talking to the doctors. They didn’t call so I did 3 hrs later. All the doctors wanted to leave early for the holiday weekend so they said call somebody else or go to emergency. I called around and Rolain was the only office willing to see me- said he’d stay late to see me because it sounded serious. 5 pm on a Friday he diagnosed a rental tear and said I need surgery. Took me down to royal oak Beaumont at 8pm opened up the totally closed facility by himself and took care of it. That is so far above and beyond what most doctors would do for a patient, much less for an off the street new walk in patient. All I can say is he’s earned my loyalty for life. Knowledgeable doctor with a stellar local reputation. Not only that but all the office staff are the most helpful and polite people I’ve run across with no exceptions. His appointments run on time, everyone is efficient and helpful- always a pleasant experience. Hard to find better than University Eye Care.
