John D. Dingell VA Medical Center: what do users think?
Leonard Lukomski: Detroit VA Doctors in Therapy are barely conscious. The worst. Nursing staff and everyone else is great! After heart attack and surgery at Beaumont Hospital I'm here for Rehab., Physical THERAPY. My coronary surgeon and the PT staff at Beaumont Hospital have said that I NEED to get Rehab. The VA doctor wants to discharge me to go home without even one dayof rehabilitating with physical Therapy.I can't even get into my house because I am not able to get up the steps. I can't get out of my bed unassisted. Can't use the bathroom unassisted. Can't leave the house unassisted. But hope to do all of this soon with the Rehab that was recommended by professionals. This place is the world's WORST place to get the treatment needed. Maybe just the Therapy department. The NURSES Here are VERY GOOD and very professional.Did I mention that the Therapy department is the very worst I have ever seen. I didn't know that in advance so I am posting this review to inform others about this experience. B
Elena Popova: My husband is a veteran. We drive all the way from Bloomfield Hills to Detroit for his pain management. Unlike other places offering soo many drugs to reduce a pain, this clinic also offers holistic approach. The acupuncture treatments worked miracle: my husband told me his pain was very low right after his first session. Michael (the occupational therapist) is very attentive and professional. We need more "Michaels" working with vets!
Michelle Stevenson: Saturday night 6:00 ish. Urgent care. Had taken my brother for eye issue . The staff was amazing especially the Triage Nurse
Jacob Rizer: Staff is amazing
Animal1nstinct: Terrible customer service and they don't respect veterans. Whoever is in charge of hiring front desk and administrative staff should be fired. They hire the rudest, lazy incompetent people. There are some great people like the patient advocates who are very kind but the majority of the staff are terrible.
Michael Grommes: I had to go to the Dermatology department the other day (my first time). Hany Deirawan, M.D. and the crew there were soooo nice, helpful and informative. From the receptionist to the doctor, they all should receive a big "atta boy" for their professionalism.
Darrell Austin: It's Psychologist was amazing
Mark: How do we take my father & law in for a procedure and when it’s time to leave 3 days later we realize someone stoled his clothes, shoes, Un real.. The staff talks to everyone horribly I had to say something to one for sounding real disrespectful towards my father & law soon as she walked in.. It’s disgusting that these soldiers can go risk everything for us and you got these staff members treating them like trash…It’s really Sad… They can do a lot better then what’s going on in this facility…Also if you look at the Photos I don’t see any of the TRUE hospital, the hallways & rooms…
Ed Peck: Majority of the staff minus the doctor we're very unapproachable and very rude. I can't believe this is how my friend (Vietnam Vet) is treated. I myself a vet was disrespected.. This place is a shame to our war vets, they deserve much more respect along with their former vet friends.
Olivia-Grace Cadieux: By far the worst VA I’ve ever received care at.
Fitness And Evolution -Fit Life With Romona: Very poor service in the emergency department! Little or no communication amongst staff! Very non compassionate with no clear direction! Was there for over 8 hours and had to ask constantly for updates. If I didn’t ask no one checked on us. Seemed as if they wanted to hurry up and get you to go home without really knowing what the patient is experiencing! Physicians in the ED do not introduce themselves to you so you don’t know their names. If you walk up to the desk to inquire the staff barely wants to recognize you even when they are not busy! I’m very disappointed in the entire experience! If it was my choice I’d never come to this ED AGAIN! 😡 HORRIBLE and something needs to be done about this!
Primitivo Gutierrez IV: No help with your military buy back working for the VA isn't bad but there are human resources misleading everytime you talk to them. Have been trying for 2 years to get my military buy back they lead me in a direction and it's always a dead end
JC EAZY: Absolutely horrendous malpractice grade incompetence on every floor.. 4th pick wish-list doctors, Mexican hospitals provide better care... not just this slaughterhouse but the entire system. Got paid less than minimum wage when sent to years! of war then provided w less than that as you are DYING from the exposures from there.. this place doesn't even answer the emergency # lines.. I was treated better by fedayeen in Iraq than you clowns.. thank you for your paycheck collecting,I mean service as well.
Damon Paterson: I dread ever having to come here or interact with them. Getting the right people on the phone is a huge hassle, so good luck if you disagree with a provider's decision or need to talk to your healthcare team. You'll probably end up leaving a voicemail and never getting a call back. To make it worse, everything online is convoluted and fails to work properly most of the time. The providers do not care about us (veterans). Today, my psychiatrist immediately dismissed my mental health concerns and in the same breath called thousands of other doctors quacks. She made me feel like a pill fiend for expressing my concerns, but didn't bother to ask me any questions or perform any diagnostics. The lab is where they throw all of the rudest workers and you can expect to spend the entire day there. The sleep lab providers are nice, but I've had sleep issues for nearly 3 years and still no answer, diagnosis, or way to manage my issues after several sleep studies. Information does not get passed well. I had to cancel a dental appointment, but I was labeled as a no show which causes problems. The list could go on. Overall, the VA system may be better than it was 30 years ago but it's still a dumpster fire. "We care about veterans" No you don't, you just say that for brownie points from the public.
Dora Explorer: They could careless about helping veterans. In the last week, I have been told to drive down there(over an hour one way) and they would help me. Both trips they didn't help me. It is like talking to an uncaring brick wall. Disgusting!!!
You: Wouldn’t land helicopter here again
Marilyn Milne: Always have a good experience here. Everyone is always helpful. I was there on the day they celebrated Veteran Day. They went around and handed out goodie bags to most of the veterans.
Shauna Norris: Doctors If you're going to cancel a patients appointment call ahead of time so people don't waste gas money
Orlando Benedict: This place is a works project sham. It shouldn't take weeks to receive care that is readily available to others with civilian insurance and facilities. What an embarrassment.Would give 0, but then I couldn't warn you.EDIT: I've been dealing with this terrible place since 2008. Just today, THEY NO-SHOWED to the first appointment I've been able to schedule in years... it was a telehealth appt and I waited 5 months for it. I really wish that this trash wasn't the healthcare that's available to fix the problems I am dealing with due to my service. I can't say more how much I hate this place.
walter taffs: I appreciate the doctors and nurses helping my brother out while he was in their care but I m giving a 1 star because of the parking lot payment.my brother pass away on the 17th of this month so I had to turn his vehicle back to the dealership. I went to pay the 10.00 fee and tried to use my wife debit card and my debit card both cards were declined and I know these cards were good.so I had a 20.00 bill put it in the machines and it didn't have change so I was out 10.00
Ask!: Shame on veterans administration. lack of communication among colleagues in department of social work is preventing veterans from securing homes.

Timothy McKay: If you just are overwhelmed with trying to deal with VA paperwork and understanding the process they are there to help you. They were so good to me and help me get my paperwork process to electric mail so that I could get my issue resolved. And all veterans I thank you for your service!
Kelly Brumfield: Mr Johnson is top notch professional gives 110% every time I needed help. The whole staff is exceptional, and I thank you for your service.
Wind Breaker: I have had several dealings with the MCVS and have nothing but good to say about it. Mr. Darrel is working on my claim and is truly a professional. The staff have been really helpful every time I have contacted them. Thank you one and all.
Marlon Terry: Very helpful friendly staff
Scream Slowly: Always helping/getting the job done.Great Staff!!
Chris Prieto: I'm a veteran and I wasn't happy that it's so hard to get help.Needs to get with the program to help the Veteran and not hold a veteran to the grindstone. However they are responsible watch it is pennys. We need the dollars.
KB MILLER: Been going there for Years the father is Old school from the old Country tell him Mr. Miller with the German Sheppard sent you , secretary is nice and they work with long time clients. I Highly Recommend this place over all other vets & Yes it is worth the 20 Mile drive to take your let's here, they don't play on your needs and pocket book, if that don't tell you something then I'm at a loss for words. Koby von Miller says listen to me I'm the one always causing trouble and these folks always fix me right up every year. And the cost is fair WOOF WOOF 😋.
Paul Rettig: Punctual, caring, & helpful to the extent of my situation. If you need help as a veteran, go there.
Nick Manderachia: Katie is the best. Very helpful.
Stacy Cain: The staff there was so rude and unkind. I went to them looking for guidance and assistant and instead I received resistance and sarcasm. I haven't made up my mind yet but Im more than likey going to file a congressional. After putting your life on the line multiple times no one should be treated that way by their own state!
Bonnie Burich: The service here has been aweful. First off my husband took the day off work to meet with Lisa Marie and when we got there they turned us away because he didn't have his DD214 which we were not told we needed to bring. But they were able to get us in the next day, Yay! We waited 2 hours past our appointment time to meet with Lisa Marie and when we did sit down and meet with her she seem so knowledgeable and eager to help. We spent 2 1/2 hours with her and left super excited. That was on November 2, 2017. I have called every week since and left message on her voicemail and with the office staff and still have never gotten a phone call back. I just don't understand this kind of customer service.
