Michael McClure: Worst customer service experience I've had, but not too far off of the general Micigan boating industry. Blue Lagoon never returns calls or answers emails, they are never available in their shop. I don't know how these people stay in business. Avoid.

Chris Twomley: What customer service? Tried to buy a new boat from them and couldn't Place was horrible. When I called, they said the we're too busy to talk and didn't call me for 3 days. Then, when they finally called me back, I asked them for an all in quote because it was a new boat, it had no electronics or a cover. They informed me they couldn't do that, and I had to do it myself. What kind of dealer can't sell you a boat that's ready to go? Very disappointed.
Mary Ellen: Will never do business with them again! Bought a boat and were pretty much lied to about everything! Beginning to think the survey was even made up. Trying to sell it now and finding out even more things that we were lied to about it. Terrible! I can't believe they are still in business!
David Grayson: TJ and the staff at McMachen Marine are GREAT! I was frankly concerned with some of the scathing Google reviews about McMachen when I choose to buy a boat from them from out of state. TJ proved to be very responsive to my questions and honest in every measure. They DID NOT represent the boat with any false pretense. Furthermore, they helped me with out-of-state trailer registration problems AFTER THE SALE! I have bought 5 boats in the past 20 years and McMachen Marine has proven to be the best! If you are looking for a good boat, honesty and satisfying purchase experience, then McMachen is the place.

David Desparois: Gigantic bunch of liars. I bought a boat there they are a big bunch of liars who claim they can only tell me what the owner tells them if they can't back it up they shouldn't even talk about it. The boat didn't run right I have to completely redo the fuel system and the lower unit they claimed it had isn't what it was supposed to be so there was a gigantic price difference in the two and the one I have isn't good enough for the application. They claim and disclaimers they are not responsible for that but my lawyer thinks differently. I have not pursued that option at this time. It also took almost two months to get the paperwork finally done.

Mike Starkey: Purchased a vessel from them last fall, have had major problems with engines , boat was listed as having engines replaced and only 65 hours on them, after numerous break downs and having certified mercury mechanic go thru motors one needing heads replaced and the other which turned out to be a vovlo penta"red in color" painted black having a bad cam shaft and unknown hours on it , now I have to remove and rebuild it, this all comes along with no help from broker at all, they will not even call me back after speaking with them about the issue, would never recommend !

Steve Miller: The staff at McMachen made my first cruiser purchase smooth and enjoyable. TJ was EXTREMELY helpful and patient with all of my questions (a lot of them), and worked with me through the entire process. He was diligent in helping me negotiate with the seller to get a great price and make sure everything was in order. From showing me each of the boats I was interested in, to helping set up the mechanical inspection and survey, TJ was spot on every step of the way. Great communication and very timely. JoAnne was also a wonderful help securing the loan (at a great rate), and making sure all closing, title and registration details were taken care of. She even suggested an insurance company that saved me a lot of money over every other quote. If you do your research and know what you want, TJ and staff will help get you into a great boat!

H&S Pink: Recently bought a Regal 28 Express through SkipperBud's at Belle Maer Harbor and had it shipped from their facilities to Ontario. With the border being closed due to the pandemic, we were unsure how this would work but with the help of Rob McCarthy, it went smoothly. Mr. McCarthy helped us through the whole process - sale, survey, and shipping with constant phone calls, texts, emails, photos and videos as we could not be there. Top notch service from the staff throughout, and I would not hesitate to use SkipperBud's or recommend them to others in the future.

Linda Shornock: I actually went to Mike's on the water restaurant which is behind colony marine, the food and service was perfect, it always is, because Mike's on the water restaurant was closing soon for the winter I had to go back before they closed up for the season, they were giving such good deals, a big burger and fries and a drink for $8, you can see what a beautiful place it is, and to be able to sit on the huge dock and eat your good on the water

Todd Brainsample: I’ve been really strongly kicking around the idea of getting a boat for a few years. I haven’t had a boat in a long time and finally decided that the time was now so I checked the Colony website yesterday and it listed having nineteen Boston Whalers in stock, including a few of the EXACT model I have been in the market for. I drove over to the St. Clair Shores location, went into the showroom and all they had was a couple reconditioned vintage boats and NOT EVEN ONE new boat. The salesperson that spoke to me asked what I was looking for and I told him. He laughingly said that ALL boats were sold out months in advance and that they might have a couple coming in toward the end of Summer, maybe? Looking just now, the website still shows the same models in stock. Are they at a different location? If so, the salesperson never mentioned it. If not, then I drove over with a pocket full of financing and dreams of being on the water by the weekend only to have the salesperson laugh at those thoughts as if it were a big joke. A new boat is a “want” and not a need, and I specifically wanted the Boston Whaler brand. The problem is this is the only dealer near me so suddenly I’m not sure I want it anymore.

I give them a grocery list of things I wanted done to the boat once it was done being winterized, and they followed up with me completed the repairs in a timely manner. I thought the estimate was fair, especially for marine dealership.
Tony D: Honest, fair and integrity are words to describe this Marina coming from a customer who did not live up to my end of a deal and they took the high road and dealt with me with the same respect and integrity as if I had follow thru.
