Detroit Memorial Park Cemetery: what do users think?
Carlo Rossi: The lady in the office answering the phone gets the job done. She follows up with a personal phone call that what I requested was done. The young man (grounds keeper) that came from DMW I interacted with was very approachable and helpful. Many members of my family are buried here beginning with my Great-Grand Father in April 1974.
Nick Shock: Worst cemetery in the Detroit area. I work in the area and visit all cemeteries in the metro Detroit area and this is the worst one by far. Waited 20 minutes to get a response for a location.
Sheila Kimble: Love the place it's well kept peaceful and the staff helpful.
Latoya Bournes-Curtis: Pretty good service
Carmen T: Well kept
Eugenia Moore: Was so proud to know that Detroit Memorial as an historic place, in the state of Michigan. But, twice I have come from out of state to see where my father and grandfather are resting to find that all headstones were covered with thick grass. The attended had a hard time finding the places. As they started digging one gentleman pulled the headstone up out of the ground. I asked the gentleman if they keep the grounds looking like this? His response was 'he would do it if I paid him'.In 1964, I didn't get the opportunity to attend their home going. So hopefully you can understand my emotional state that still lingers with me while I witnessed them being handled in such a way. After the tears, I took pictures to pass to my children and grandchildren so that one day they will know that our family is resting in an historic BLACK Memorial Park in the GREAT Motor City, THE BIG D, Detroit, Michigan. But for them not to be blinded by the way the grounds are kept up.Maybe I just expected more pride to be put into such a place that's in history. So much of our history has been so tainted or over looked that I feel we should be outstanding in our presentation of our history.Thank you for your time and understanding about my time visiting my family.Eugenia M. Smaul-Ford
Denise Scott: It's peaceful when you enter like you've entered a heavenly environment. Sundays are a good day when the weather is nice.
Toya: Upkeep is poor. Entrance looks uninviting, monseleum is not clean.
Andre Darby: Poooooooooooooooor
PMl X: Disappointed to see so many grave head stones covered up and not exposed. Couldn't find my love one site marking. Just kind of made me wish final resting place was somwhere else to have my spiritual connection. It would had meant a great deal to have that inner peace.
Nkem McCain: Paid for headstones and never was informed they were placed in the ground, return phone calls were poor. Overall Communication with the customer service representative was poor
Kenyada Sailes: I love u Mary House MY LOVING Grandma & Marvin Grandson MY DADDY YOU BOTH ARE TRULY MISSED 😢😢😢😢😢😢 I WISH I COULD BRING YOU BOTH BACK TO ME SMH LOVE KENYADA
Pooh Bair Honeyville: Several of my family members are buried or entombed here.
Donna Riggs: All my family and close friends are interred and entombed there

Mt. Olivet Cemetery: what do users think?
Tazzman 225: Nice, pleasant and clean. Office employees are very nice.
Hester Matthews: 5 StarBeautiful FlowersGreat Staff
Deborah Filos: We are a large group of cousins who have taken up the mantle of honoring our great grandparents, great aunts and uncles who passed away between 1920 - 1950 by tending to their stones after our parents generation, the previous care takers, have now passed away. Everyone we encountered has been extremely helpful. On each visit a Mt. Olivet employee has happily assisted us in finding stones, reading maps etc. We wouldn't even have to ask for help. They would see us standing looking perplexed and offer to help. It is a beautiful place with kind and caring employees.
Angela Krebs: This cemetery is so beautiful and serene! 🦋I love hearing the planes fly over when I visit my family! I have relatives in the older part of the cemetery and the new which is not new now! We just call it that!My mom had a baby buried in the baby section in the 50’s.I remember when my father passed away in 1965 and they just planted a roll of trees where he is buried 🙏💕Oh they have grown so tall and beautiful! They maintain the grounds with such care! 🌹♥️🙏⭐️God bless all who are laid to rest in Mt Olivet🙏
Claude Greiner: Best cemetery in Detroit. Both my grandparents are buried here
Mommabear #1: We were very pleased with the service great people with beautiful spirits 🙂
Maggie Varney: We were very pleased with the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. We wanted to visit since my daughter's dad had passed away from COVID. His parents are buried there and when we arrived, we knew the general location yet didn't know the exact place where their grave sites were. Jason & Danny who were working in the area stopped when we asked for assistance and found the grave stones for us. When they saw the sites needed grooming, they immediately did it right then. They were so tender-hearted and compassionate about the grief we were experiencing with the loss of my daughter's dad. It was a total God job and the exact time in that huge cemetery for them to be there and give comfort & aid! They were very professional.
Jessie Cseh: In the pouring rain, the wonderful staff helped to celebrate & place our loved one to rest.Thank you
Desicrated: A little higher than other places, but I feel they maintain this cemetery extremely well, especially considering what it is surrounded by.
Robert Mueller: Very nice setting
tammy ann kershner: The gals in the office were very friendly, the gentlemen who work the grounds was extremely nice and helpful and assisted me in cleaning off my family's headstones! Thank you!!!!
jennifer kubica: I have a lot of loved ones buried here and just put my sister here today rest easy sissy days and nights won't be the same anymore but I know u will be waiting for us on the other side say hi to everyone for me until we meet again rest in peace my angel....
Emily Barnes: When I was out there the other day in an unmarked area there were some stones that were visible and they had been just mowed over like nobody cared about it. It really sad to see how many stones had sucked in and nobody had fixed it. I was out there with one other person for almost 7 hours to try to fix some stuff and uncover headstones but there are so many that are just to grown over. It makes me so sad that the cemetery would let that happen, and that the diocese has not done anything about it either. I hate how the the maintenance staff didn’t really care they just drove around and acted like thing was wrong. I do plan on going back to try to uncover more and to try to map so unmapped ares. I hope they really take better care of the cemetery in the future but its sad that they let this happen.
Andrea Harris: My mom is here, I am so glad she has a clean place and people that take care of her she was and still is my queen we miss her so. Thank you for e everything.
Waykeilla Holloway: My baby girl Summer is buried here I love this place. She's been here for almost 2yrs its clean and nice. Im glad my baby is resting here.
Rhonda Fleming: My mother has been resting here for 9 plus years and it is as beautiful as it was when we brought here here.
BKin D: I could spend eternity here
Lynn Dinallo: I don't understand why you guys are closed on Sunday's because that's the only day that most people have off. People like me who work 10-12 hours a day won't be able to make it to the cemetery by 4 4:30. Just my opinion. Overall it's a good place to be buried.
Bryan DeHenau: The other half of my family is burried here. Beautiful well maintained cemetary.
Melissa Kaminski: For my Grandpa Donald John Kaminski and my Grandma Leonora Kaminski..R.I.P Love you guys, Love your Granddaughter Melissa Kaminski! See you on the other side gramps and grams, love you to the moon and back, Forever N Ever In A. Day. Beautiful and amazing cemetery! :)
Maya B.: Best place to work and be buried

Resurrection Cemetery: what do users think?
Steven Kern: Don't ever Lay your love one to rest here bought a niche for my mom put a little plaque on it , they giving me nothing but trouble in my time of grief....they are taking it Down iam so sad 😭😭 it's had enough to lose my mom they making it harder for me, it says, I love you Mom..... taking my mom of this cemetery...I'll take her home where she belongs.... 😭..
Chris N: My experience with resurrection cemetery is 95% positive. The majority of the staff is very supportive and helpful and the grounds are properly maintained. I visit my grandparents grave site twice a week and it’s very beautiful and peaceful. The only complaint I have is the grounds crew throws away our European funeral lanterns regularly. We specifically chose this cemetery due to the large number of Polish friends and family buried in the “Polish section.” With my large family there is someone at my grandparents grave site every day. Most resent (this past Wednesday) we visited for my grandpa’s birthday and lit candles in the lanterns. These candles last 2 days….. My uncle went the next day and everything was thrown away (lantern’s, candles, and flowers.) My mom attempted to call the office to see if we could get our lanterns back and an explanation. She was transferred to a very rude staff member named Lyn who was argumentative, spoke over my mom and transferred her to someone else before my mom could get a question answered. Luckily we spoke with someone else who had kindness and compassion, however we still don’t have an answer. I would expect when staff has a bad day, they don’t take it out on grieving family members as Lyn has.
Linda AccettolA: Could you please post the proper dimensions for plot flower boxes We would appreciate it Thank you
Manuel: The only good reviews are from families that buried their loved ones with no idea how this cemetary operates. They move burial sites without filing proper paperwork or informing the families & have had more than one instance where they have “accidentally” destroyed another persons grave while digging a new one. It starts from the top, but there is little accountability outside of the person replying to all the reviews to make it seem like they care. Operate better. Get better systems in place. Hold the grounds keepers accountable.
THORINtheRED: These people will defile the remains of your loved ones, and then hide the evidence. It will take a judges order and the news media for them to admit even a modicum of guilt. They are money hungry, sleezy, and care none for the respect you expect for your deceased loved one. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY
Mark Young: George Horattass went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and explained everything in detail as to what I should expect!
Rian Boyle: Resurrection Cemetery is very nice
Lisa Campbell: Good service but you pay through the nose for it. $21k for my BIL’s crypt is an obscene abuse of customers who are in need.
Motria Schulte: It was a pleasure to do business with Resurrection cemetery. George Horattass went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and explained everything in detail as to what I should expect! All the staff were cordial, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. Not to mention that the grounds are immaculate!
SENAN alqoshnaya: My dad sleeping here for one year and half, this place it's clean and very quiet I like sitting next my dad and talk with his soul ,I feel better when I did that, thanks for all your service ,awesome stuff 🌷🌷
Lori Waters: Beautiful, beautiful Cemetery!!
k ran: This place has the worst groundskeepers. They constantly damage tombstones. Office doesnt care, they just want money. Find somewhere else. I wish I never came here.
Alex Moose: Sick people. Avoid this place. They’ll pile trash in your grave and avoid a TV/phone interview. The only way you’ll find out is when a rogue employee sends you photos.
Sheila Carbary: I hopped on here to get directions. My dad will be gone 2 yrs tomorrow. I am shocked at all the bad reviews I've seen. It is a very beautiful cemetery. But I was angered when they moved my grandmother without even telling the family. When I looked for her I couldn't find her. She was in the middle in one of the crypts. I finally found her on the bottom in the next section. It just is such a disrespect to the family to not be told. And from what others are saying about flowers being regulated. It's not a showroom! You should be able to adorn the graves the way you want. All flowers are beautiful! Still really upset that they would not tell us that they moved our loved one!
Maryann Ulicny: Beautiful, peaceful and well maintained
Donald Bo: I was overwhelmed at the compassion and professionalism that we received throughout the entire process for my mother. Dave Ferrara was very patient and accommodating. The cemetery grounds are beautiful. My heartfelt thanks to Dave and the entire staff.sincerely Donald
Renee Campbell: I am so disappointed in resurrection cemetery for allowing the sacred grounds to be used for event parking. There are plenty are parking lots to use for the fireworks, and I find it completely inappropriate and upsetting. I tried to reach out but Tim has yet to get back to me…
anna mastrogiovanni: Very well kept grounds, awesome staff, several burial site options.
Julie Haase: I am so disappointed. I live out of state, so I can't regularly tend to my grandparents' plots. Yesterday I was in town and stopped by. I walked past several headstones that were completely under water, which I understand happens sometimes. When I got to my grandparents, my grandmother's headstone was sinking down to the side and my grandfather's was completely missing. Someone had poured dirt and grass seed to the left of his grave and also all over his headstone. I had to dig out his headstone from under several inches of dirt and mud (luckily I had work gloves and baby wipes in my car), and when I finally got it dug out and cleaned up, I found scratches on it. I understand needing to lay down dirt and grass seed so there aren't giant spots of mud everywhere, but to carelessly cover someone's entire headstone in the process is just disrespectful. I didn't have time to check my other family members' resting spots while I was there, so now I'm going to worry what they look like until I can get back again.
Richard Mieszanek: This place was wonderful and peaceful to visit loved ones don't know what happened in llast year or so we visit loved ones often in section 10 and it seems like workers don't care anymore the grounds are a mess stones covered in mud can't even see some of them deep tractor tire marks all over we have been in office three times and nothing has been done I've seen flags cracked flowers not put back please get this place back to what is was
Amy Koza: This cemetery is beautiful. I have purchased from them twice. The customer service was patient both times and they cared about my concerns. They even sent compassionate videos about the grief process, after the burial.

Oakview Cemetery: what do users think?
scott romano: Very lovely wooded setting with a pond, interesting old tombstones, I go just to walk & admire everything. There's been a great blue heron nesting there for a few years that's fascinating to see
Jilly: My dad and grandma are buried there. They can’t keep staff and I’ve been waiting for almost a year to have my dad’s headstone fixed. The Hebrew portion isn’t what I provided, it’s gibberish.
Lora Davis: Parkview keep their cemetery very well it's up kept the ground workers are great I have nothing bad to say about the cemetery
Morgan Lashbrook: Graves are hard to find due to poor section markings. Kind of run down
K. W. G: This cemetery is getting a bit run down, grave sites are hard to locate due to lack of maintenance. The grave sites that aren't allowed to have headstones just markers are buried in the grass and dirt and are unrecognizable. In some areas they are actually sinking into the ground.I was very disappointed upon my visit.
Trista Thatcher: Absolutely love this cemetery. The wildlife that roam these grounds is such an amazing sight to see, the trees and landscape are just absolutely precious and beautiful. It is so beautiful here.♡
Steve Therkalsen: 2 weeks cant get office to return my calls about arrangements for my deceased father. Or answers some simple questions
Furb Frog: Updating my review. My initial comment was great staff but I was actually referring to one gentleman that used to work there I don’t remember his name..taller guy. I’ve come in to the office multiple times to inquire about purchasing crypt spaces for my family and each time, this gentleman assisted me without rush and was actually listening to what I was saying in terms of what I was looking for. I’ve been back just recently and spoke with two other gentlemen, one of which I believe was the manager, and I instantaneously felt like they were inattentive and ultimately just trying to make a sale. I could tell by their lack of knowledge in what they were trying to sell me. I spoke with one of the groundskeepers and they informed me that ownership of the cemetery is now corporate and the office staff come and go so frequently that they barely remember peoples’ names working in that office. Hopefully something changes at this location.
Sally Levinson: My father's gravestone/site is always taken care of beautifully
Toni Linn: We yo srr my mom and dad.
Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti: They have live deer and you can buy carrots to feed them
Chris Walker: Been trying to get my parents headstone laid for a few years now, gave the woman my bank card and the information of the place where the stone was purchased and was never ever laid, couldn't lay during the winter so again trying again this year now and they say they don't lay them it's up to somebody else so just a big run around, all they worried about was making money by trying to sell me a plot for me and my wife, I promise I won't be nor will any of the rest my family ever be laid the rest there as wellHad to edit since I just called and spoke to Ashley and was refused any information to thier legal departments information to send correspondence with, was told they DO NOT give out any corporate information or any way to contact them to any outsiders! When you purchase a plot, you own that part of the land where your family is buried, so how am I or my family a outsider? And then I was informed that she was the sales department and the woman I spoke to before was Janice their manager, I was told by Ashley that she will be the last one I am able to speak with regarding anything with their cemetery. That's fine because I also advised her that our phone call was being recorded as well so I will be trying to figure out a way to upload or tag this audio to show people how you're treated at this establishment! I would definitely beware of doing business here! So now as of this point it looks like me and my sister are stuck with a headstone that covers both of our parents grave and no way to get it installed unless we buy it another one through Oak View, I would rather have my parents moved before we ever give them money to make another headstone that's already been done!
Tina Schamante-Heckert: Purchased a tree almost two years ago to replace the dead tree my parents planted. Learned it was never planted as ordered. Requested a refund a year ago and finally received response to come pick up check. Traveled far but couldn't make it before close. Staff worked it out to meet up.
Ann W: I cannot overstate the kindness and responsiveness of the Oakview Cemetery office staff to my requests regarding my grandmother who passed away nearly 65 years ago. They always took the initiative to follow-up with me and managed staff transitions flawlessly. Thank you!
Noel Briggs: Beautifully cared for, lovely final resting place for your loved one.
Christine Young: Thank you to the staff at oak view for making an awful day WORST our word against yours.
Candy Dixon: Today is our 2nd Mothers Day without our mom. This afternoon was about our 30th trip to tend to the grave site. It is also the very first time tthat we have been there when the grass has been cut. Even the day of my moms service it was pretty high. PLEASE PLEASE keep it cut. It was so nice today.
E H: THIS CEMETERY IS OFF THE GOSH DARN CHAIN MAN THEY GOT ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE THERE BUT MOST IN GROUND THERE WAS GRAVE STONE WITH JESUS ON IT AND I WAS LIKE SUP JESUS BUT JESUS DID NOT SPEAK BECAUSE HE WAS JUST STONE AND NOT REAL JESUS FROM BIBLE
Jodie Michelle Batten: Before we sadly buried our 1st Grandchild who was only a wee babe of FOUR months old 😢 😔 😢 due to SIDS.... We were sweet lil Bella Rose's caregivers and after that most horrific night terror of loosing her. After her burial in January I would drive to her resting place whenever I would awaken to feed her. It was my favorite new routine. So sadly to say I still needed to be near her body. There gates are always unlocked 🔓 which helped me tremendously by knowing that I could visit her any time 24/7 & 365.Before we endured that tragic death. We would walk our kids, rarely maybe my Rottweiler if I was alone at night. You need not to have any love for loved ones interred here enjoy this peaceful place. My neighbors' both run here all of the time.Great place with beautiful scenery & wildlife galore. If you're lucky enough to see the large herd of deer 🦌, with a very large Buck, and sweet little fauns too. There's the 🦊 foxes too. They of course are more slyer to get an up close espy. I've seen only seen them with their tails as they make their way through the snow in the winter. Then there's one of my favorite raptors that makes his home anywhere he chooses too. He's a large Red TailHawk. We've given him a nickname - Hudson. Some people bring him raw chicken to feed him.Believe you me he does mighty fine on his own at hunting. We live within a ½ mile from the cemetery & he visits our tall Maples then swoops down & enjoys a pigeon.Oakview also has 2 ponds. The nicest of the 2 is the one that's closer to the gates. They have benches to sit & ponder losses, or become mesmerized by the waterfowl, turtles, frogs & fish swimming in the pond.Only complaint is that Oakview has way too much of a problem with their employee turnover.Anytime they have new personnel it seems that we always receive their pitch for burial plots. They did not inform us that Bella's headstone was ready to be placed on her burial site... 😔
John Hennessy: Lyle & Sharon rest here. I remember being shown and I did say I'd do my best...
Roberta Lusk: A rating of one exceeds a score that is truly deserved. Our family suffered a crushing and tragic loss and went to make arrangements for interment. We have owned plots for nearly 20 years. Given our experience yesterday if we could we would have our loved ones exhumed and moved to another cemetery. The staff member who worked with us was inefficient, unprofessional and lacking in the compassion needed when dealing with grieving family members. It was disgraceful! Words cannot express the true level of our displeasure.
