All the instructors provide good cues for classes and modifications and encouragement for members of all levels within the class. By far my favorite thing is the community of riders, front desk staff, and instructors.

Timothy McCloud (Hustlerust): Great class. Friendly and helpful staff. Facilities were clean. Couldn’t hear most of what the instructor was saying, however, it sounded encouraging. It’s not the instructor, it’s the sound equipment and audio levels.

Corinn Palmer: Absolutely atrocious and poorly ran business. The customer service is so bad it is outrageous. Canceled my membership over 2 months ago and I continue to get the fee pulled from my account each month. I have called numerous times and they do not answer the phones or return voicemails. I have gone as far as driving out there to cancel in person and this is STILL an issue. Is this even a real business at this point?! These issues make it sound like a complete scam. Children could run this business more effectively and provide better customer service. If you are daring enough to come here, I hope you have the funds to keep paying the monthly bill for the rest of you life. Pro tip: you are all better off purchasing your own Pelaton and cycling in the comfort of your own home. Goodluck!

Calle LaPrairie: Horrible customer service. I tried to cancel multiple times. No one answers the phones, half of the time no one is at the front desk. I finally got ahold of someone and cancelled two months ago, and they continue to bill my account. Would never recommend

Greta Grass: I would also give this establishment 0 stars if I could. I joined in January, $1 for the first month with a minimum of 3 months of membership. Loved the classes and the instructors. 3 months roll around and I have since bought my own at-home bike. I called to cancel and was informed that I wouldn’t be charged again, but, of course, I was charged again. I called and spoke to a manager who told me the employee left no note and they don’t record calls so there was nothing they could do. After disputing the charge, a month later I am showing up to officially sign the cancellation paperwork so they will stop emailing me. The hours state that they are open until 8 pm. I am sitting outside at 5 pm, trying to cancel, and the doors are locked with no one answering the phone. Awful customer service, misleading hours, and a complete hassle to get out of a package. I don’t recommend this location at all.

I have never been a member here nor do I ever want to be. I was told that I could sign up for $1 and try it out for 4 rides. Now I get emails everyday saying I have a membership with them and that I owe money for something I have never even used. I tried to contact management with no luck. DO NOT GO HERE unless you read the fine print and know what you are getting yourself into!

Andrea Lentz: You had better hope you are prepared for lifetime harassment. I paid for a package right before this studio went under and put under new management. They wouldn't honor my current package, refund me, nothing. I continue to get spam texts about packages even though i have asked them to stop numerous times. When I tell them I never got to use the last package I bought they respond they are under new management....ok then stop using the old management's contact list, you can't have it both ways. The workouts aren't worth dealing with this horrible company.

I quit in person with the manager at the time who said I didn’t owe anything more and when I speak with the new management I am told that I was misinformed and receive zero help. Do not join this studio.

Brian Linzy: Membership started in fall of 2020 and had a wonderful experience with the instructors and manager at that time. Rides were outdoors due to the studio being remodeled and COVID safety measures. We rode into December before classes had to stop due to the weather. The manager at that time (Karen) was clear that if we continued paying the monthly fees that our rides would "carry over" month to month until the studio opened back up. Due to the delay of the construction and waiting for vaccines, went on to a hold membership that would not provide additional rides while waiting...however still assured the other rides built up would roll over.Flash forward to a some new staff and this agreement was not honored even though there was evidence of this commitment from the previous manager provided to them. Furthermore, the new manager threw up her hands at assisting after a few exchanges and said I would be contacted by operations (which still has not happened after a month).My complaint is not with the instructors who are generally awesome, but instead with the leadership of this location. Do yourself a favor and look at another studio that may honor what they say they will do.

VL L: This is one of the locations my wife and I go to, and it’s been a disaster. We found inappropriate one of the ladies crew member using profanity and telling the guest to wear one piece swimsuit instead of two, while making fun of her. Swimming pool and whirlpool are often out of order or closed. They contact us with offers to add our family members to our membership, but there is no way we could even consider that the way things are.

According to LA Fitness logic, the platform that is designed to take the impact from thousands of pounds of weight will get damaged from chalk and benches.By adding this policy LA Fitness management proved they are star graduates of clown school and can never be taken seriously again.I cancelled my membership on the spot. I was a loyal gym goer, reracked my weights, encouraged people to come to LA and used liquid chalk so there’d be little to no mess.Now there will be less wear and tear on the equipment meant to be worn and torn because I will not ever go near this gym again. Enjoy pristine equipment with less profit!

Chyna Racine: My least favorite LA Fitness. The place had an overwhelming smell of musk as soon as we hit the door. The majority of the cardio machines are extremely worn and/or dysfunctional. The staff is not friendly and very nonchalant. Unfortunately, my husband really hurt himself while on the leg press. He tried to walk it off and had a seat at one of the other machines nearby, and fainted moments later. The young and dumb crowd/gym members couldn't care less, and told the front desk that someone was having a seizure. The front desk attendant casually walks up to us as my husband lays on the floor and begins asking questions like, "What's going on?" etc. If you thought someone was having a seizure, why didn't you run and show some sense of urgency? I guess they don't get paid enough for that...There were other staff members that went about their closing duties and not once came to check on us. After I called 911, I advised the attendant to go up front to flag the ambulance, which he did. Once he was taken away on the stretcher (barely able to walk without assistance), I had to ask one of the other unconcerned staff members to get his jacket from the locker inside the men's lockeroom. I didn't know which locker, so he immediately made it seem like an impossible task. After his first attempt, I insisted that he check again, and he did and finally found it. Again, lacking urgency and real concern.I am so disappointed with this experience and as a whole. We will never ever go back to this sad excuse of a gym and will be escalating this complaint.

Abdullaah 27: They were advertising a free workout with a personal trainer, so I decided to register. It wasn’t working on the app, so I decided to go in person and sign up. The front desk directed me to a young gentleman on the side. He booked a 50-minute session with a certified personal trainer for the next day at 10:30. The next day I come in and asked the front desk about my session; they said the personal trainer doesn’t come in until after 11:00. I came back after 11:00, but the personal trainer still wasn’t here so the gentleman that booked my session yesterday said that he would be my “trainer” for the day. Everything was going well. The workout was basic, and he complimented me on my form. At the end of my workout, he told me to meet him at the his desk and he was going to go over a plan for me. After reading from a script about the benefits of a personal trainer, he asked me if I was interested in hiring a personal trainer. I politely declined. He then started pressuring me by saying things like the gym is a dangerous place, most people don’t achieve their goals and work themselves to insanity at the gym etc. I firmly told him that I wasn’t interested because the lowest price to hire a personal trainer was close to my car payment. This caused him to become angry and unprofessional. He said I didn’t know what I was doing and my form was bad. Once he realized that I wasn’t going to hire a personal trainer, he told me have fun working myself to insanity. In conclusion, the staff in charge of selling their services act nice, but when you don’t want to buy their service, they become rude and unprofessional.

Its not like i sent it and biffed it. lol If he says he well get the chain and i feel safe (hes not making a lot on this so i appreciate it) So long as my bike is safe Tuesday when i bring it in I'm happy

Marcia Spivey: The owner price gauges— I’ve been going to this bike shop since 1996..for the past 10years I just stayed b/c I am a Detroit loyalist however april 7, 2021 was the breaking point. I WAS QUOTED BY THE OWNER $100 for a bike tune up(starting at this amount). The same bike that I’ve been taking to him for the past 3years. He is overpriced and has no respect for loyalty. I was also told the return time would be 7-10days and that I should be lucky that I’m getting my bike in when I am.He believes that he is the only person in the area who can do the job so he charges based on demand. Well this isn’t true! There is an awesome bike shop on Gratiot ALLIED CYCLE SHOP. They were helpful and didn’t treat me as if They were doing me a favor. The tune up starts at $49.99 and the turn around is 2-3 days.Stay away from Bike Tech if you value your hard earned money and customer service!This guy should be ashamed of himself for price gauging..I purchased a bike basket from him last year for $40 — the same basket was at Allied bike shop for $23.99.I WILL NOT TAKE MY MONEY HERE EVER AGAIN AND ADVISE SAME.

I didn't notice an area for stretching which would have been nice but otherwise it was an awesome experience. I'll be back in summer.

Carson Simpson: The best gym in the Detroit area by far. Also, one of my favorite gyms I’ve ever visited regularly in all my travels. The staff is top notch but most importantly, the patrons for the most part practice gym etiquette and it is not usually very crowded. Most other gyms in town are just hangouts, people go to Golds to put in work.

Tim Patru: Pleasantly surprised! I was visiting from out of state and stopped in to get some cardio. Was not expecting much for a gym in the Detroit area, but found the place to be extremely clean and well kept. Locker room, sauna, and shower were likewise very clean. Lots of weights and machines to choose from, as well as a boxing ring and multiple punching bags which I have not seen at other Gold's locations.The owner was at the front desk during my visit and super friendly and personable. He didn't give me any problem whatever despite my membership being at another location.Highly recommend! Would definitely come here if I lived in the area.

Eriyon Adams: Terrible gym. This gym is very ghetto and unprofessional. People here don't know how to act. People be standing around hogging weights. The owner Don is so unprofessional. One time I was thinking about what weight to put on the machine. He had the nerve to say "the machine is empty you can use it." Then you have people's kids running around the gym and being in the way of people working out. Only good thing about the gym is the punching bags. But I will never come here again.

KevinM. Cooper: I moved to the Detroit area in August of 2020. I was a member of Golds gym in SC, so I decided to keep the trend going here. Don and his team take great care of his facility. More than enough equipment to get yourself together. Don, and his team treat people like family. I’ve been in some corporate gyms where you are just a customer. Definitely not the same vibe here. I can see Don cares about people. Not only will i be leaving Michigan soon, I’ll be leaving a gym that feels like family. Great job Don, and his team!!!

Raven Mitchell: This gym is an athlete’s dream come true!! In response to my online inquiry, I received a personal welcome message from the owner with membership info and a free visitors pass. As soon as I set foot in Gold’s I felt like a kid in a candy store. ALL of the fitness equipment is immaculately maintained with care and the resistance machines are actually laid out in a way that makes sense—one of my biggest pet peeves in commercial gyms. First impressions are everything and Gold’s nailed it. The receptionist was delightful and Women’s locker room was very tidy. If I could give MORE than 5 stars I would!! Thank you Don and staff!

Carolyn Minter: I didn't like the atmosphere. I went in there one time and did not like it, it was dreary. The owner also seems to be very messy and unprofessional. Arguing with the customers in the comments looks very bad. Your job is to accommodate the consumer as much as possible. No lies were told about how there's little sneaky hidden fees, or that, some of these businesses make things appear one way when all actuality they're hustling the customer. A spooky, dreary den for a gym, and a confrontational, poor behaving, angry, combative owner, is enough to keep me at LA Fitness.

I also seen, where the lady Kiara left a note about scammer, and I can see that being true as well. Planet Fitness did something similar to me, and ever since I been leery. Something else I learned, don't give these people your main bank account information, have a back up account. Shout out to Capital One, because they will kick whose dinging your account out of the system. They will not have access to your account anymore. These folks will keep dinging your account after what they said was month to month. Coming from Texas I was looking for a gym, but I better keep looking from these comments I've seen.

Kiara Altman: BEWARE! They are deceiving and scammy. I will attach all of my proof such as receipts/ emails and their “No Contract” paperwork they falsely advertise. I am so disappointed in this gym. A long story short, I received a phone call 2 days ago from a debt collector saying I owed them $450 for a past due balance I owed to this gym and that they would report the delinquency on my credit report. He even tried discouraging me from contacting the gym directly to rectify the issue. (I’ll attach his information as well). I tried asking why and how I owed this money because my daughter had only been to this gym twice and we paid for the one month she’d gone. I only agreed to let her go there for the one month because she needed something to do before softball season started last June. The lady Madison who signed her up (and the owner Don was there as well) said there wouldn’t be an obligation, it was month to month. The next month I received a phone call saying that my payment couldn’t process. I explained to them that my daughter would no longer be coming and that Madison told us if we don’t pay we don’t have a membership because it’s month to month. I was told the membership was canceled. My mom and several other family members continued to go for a few more months and once again Madison confirmed the membership was cancelled. I spoke with Ally from Gold’s gym yesterday and she confirmed that yes my mother and 4 other family members’ memberships were cancelled but they never cancelled my daughter’s. Also, confirming my daughter had only come there twice the first month. She told me to speak with the owner Don today to get help. Don called me this morning and requested I pay the $75 fee from having the debt collector call me and confirm, and I quote, “the debt collector must have tacked on a damn fee of their own because I’m showing a balance of $248.” I explained the situation again and he said, “I have $18,000 worth of debts from people and I’ve heard every excuse.” I once again tried to explain to him that I am one person and that grouping me isn’t fair and bad for business because it shows I’m just another number to him. I even offered to pay the $40 monthly fee because he said to cancel you have to do it within 30 days so I would’ve had to owe that anyway. I also tried explaining that I shouldn’t be responsible for his employee’s mistake for not cancelling. He rudely said that his employee “has been working here for 2 years and knows how to cancel accounts, it takes 1 second.” And that moving forward he will require customers to email the cancellations for proof but he wasn’t going to “eat everyone’s cost” even though he was going to “write off the balance with his taxes.” Furthermore, this gym is a rip off and I advise you get a real contract and read the fine print carefully because according to Don, “they have no contracts just agreements.” Legal jargon and scammy wording at its best- you sign up- you agree to pay even if you cancel.

Shout out to the owner, Michelle, who has somehow found a way to make it fun for me to workout on the regular (and even lift weights!). She's really built a great little place with an awesome team of instructors.

Samantha Schmerheim: Where do I start when I loved absolutely everything about this place?There are so many things that separates 6 Degree Burn from other fitness classes. Other places, I feel judged, awkward...etc. but I felt truly welcomed here from the moment I walked in the door. The gym has never really worked for me, but this class was so interactive! The instructor, Michelle, is an inspiration, she is so attentive and genuinely wants to see you succeed. She actually cares about her clients and she is so uplifting/encouraging. Also, there are so many different people, from fitness veterans to beginners. I went to the “Cardio Burn Kickboxing” class. I love that they had classes at 7pm because that really works for my schedule. They ended the class with yoga poses and it felt so amazing and peaceful. I’m so excited for my next class.

Sumana Palle: Great classes! I've only ever been to the kickboxing classes so I can't speak to the cycling or boot camp classes. Michelle is my favorite instructor and I really like her style of teaching: she's a little in-your-face (which I think is needed for the intensity of kickboxing) and really engaging. She is really good about talking to everyone during class and making sure everyone has the correct posture/sequence down.I've been to another instructor's class once or twice but found her to be slower-paced so I mostly stick to Michelle's classes.Definitely take a yoga mat, even when you go to kickboxing classes - there is about 10 minutes of stretching at the end of every class and mats are required for this portion.

Roula El-Moghrabi: Highly recommend this place. I love the atmosphere and classes. The trainers are amazing. My fav is the kick boxing classes. Michelle’s class is fun, Rays class is very hectic haha which is good and Sunday is the best. I don’t recall the name of the instructor but she is amazing. She does all the exercises with you so it’s easy to follow. I also like Melissa and George’s boot camp. Great place
