Thadine Kazmer: We stayed here with our cat while our floors were being refinished. The suite with a door between the bedroom and living room was great . The hotel is a little older and shows some wear but all in all was very nice and all the staff we met were very pleasant. It was a bit over the top noisy with parties on Friday nights but by 1 AM things settled down. I guess that has to be expected. I would stay again, that they allow up to 2 pets is a real plus.

Essence Pearson: Front desk staff and manger of the hotel were extremely rude and racist.We drove from Indiana, we did not have a reservation. I came into the hotel to see if it was cheaper to book in person vs online. Steve at the front desk tried to turn me away immediately saying they had guest there for a hockey tournament even though they had rooms available. He told me that they did not have any double beds but their were double beds that showed online. I asked the lady at the desk if they would have to accommodate me with a King suite if there’s doubles showing that aren’t available and she told me, yes. I booked double beds online and went to the car to gather my things, when I returned.. Steve handed me his personal cell phone with Denise (hotel manager) on the phone telling me I would need to pay an up charge for a king suite and I should not have booked it in the first place. The entire situation was disgraceful, I refused the up charge since the other staff member confirmed they would have to accommodate me. The gag is several police officers were called because of all the ruckus the adolescent hockey players were making.

Dan Burr: Room smells like BO. The only solution offered was a spray of air freshener. Called to get room service at 1100. Told it was too late to add for the day. Asked for a towel refresh. Catherine Jo Dixon: I have happily stayed at Hampton Inn hotels for over 25 years. However, the Troy/Detroit location is terrible. I made a reservation and pre-paid. When I arrived, the clerk refused to honor my reservation and would not refund my money. She was rude, mean-spirited, and heartless. Maire Eaken: If I could give this hotel zero stars I would. That's how bad my experience was with front desk staff and customer service. Watch your bank accounts after checking out! Coincidentally, multiple people were overcharged during my stay. I'd also suggest getting the app where you can check yourself out instead of dealing with the front desk. Highly disappointed, and shocked at the way I was treated here. Hilton/Hampton will not see a dollar from me ever again.

Abby Rice: The hotel and rooms itself were nice looking, however the first room we checked into had a strong odor similar to the smell of bad body odor, we called the front desk and asked to switch rooms so they moved us down the hall. We go into our second room and it was the same thing, smelled of body odor. We accepted the fact it smelled like that in every room and sat down to rest after our long drive. We were not in our room for more than 10 minutes before our door swings open and it was another couple coming into our room, and needless to say that scared us a lot and caught us off guard. The front desk had assigned them and given them keys for our room. I called the front desk and their solution was to move us rooms again, and “upgrade” us to a king “suite”…. We were already in a king bed room with a fridge and microwave. So we had to move rooms for the third time with our year and a half old son. The “upgrade” they gave us was a couch.. the room itself was no better than the room we were in. I did not feel as if this was the proper remedy for a situation that could have been much worse. The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable, the shower was hot but all around the smell and the experience we had were less than mediocre. We were really excited to stay there and left disappointed.
