My time with the doctor was not rushed at all, he answered all my questions, was very friendly and personable, and has many years of experience. Being in business myself, I value all of these traits. Giavonna P: There's a woman that works at the front desk and answers phones her name is Nicole she is very very rude and disrespectful, she talks to people like they are complete trash and she is extremely unprofessional. The doctor is well aware of it and still let's her run the show. I called to order my contacts 2 weeks ago and still haven't received a phone call saying they are in. Probably because they aren't open today because they are only open 3 days a week. Ridiculous, when I called to order them that Nicole girl lied to me and said I couldn't use my same prescription for monthlys that I had for my everydays she tried telling me the doctor said I had to come and pay for a whole new exam which ended up being a lie. I could use the same prescription. Just trying to scam me out of my money but I would highly NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.
Tracey Brown: I picked up new glasses 2 years ago, and provided them with another pair of glasses to duplicate the same prescription . The receptionist misplaced my glasses, and I was told by another receptionist because it was two years ago, there was nothing that they could do about it, my glasses were either donated or sent back to the lab. There was no effort to even allow me to pick another pair of glasses at their cost, so I am the one taking a loss!! I will be looking for another place to do business with. I don't care if it was 2 years or 3 years, if you make an error, you correct it period, point blank!!

This other reception lady was rude and had so much attitude. I’m not sure if it was because we were minorities, but we have never encountered such a rude human being ever prior to this. Not only did her attitude and rudeness made me get up and leave, but the Dr was even late. Why would anyone go to that place? Please, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Somewhere welcoming.

My daughters received there glasses 3 weeks later but mine wasn’t ready yet they said !! 2 months later I called they said with covid or maybe my insurance they haven’t came yet . 4 months later!! I called in I said covid/ insurance what ever it still shouldn’t take that long so someone called me back in said the web lost them !! They would have to reorder them it will be 2-4 weeks before they come in so here it is 6 months later still haven’t Received them I get a post card to schedule my six month visit so I called and I said you want want me to schedule an appointment with you but I still haven’t received my glasses yet?? The lady said it shows they were picked up in October but I was told in November that the web lost them so idk what’s going on the lady said she was gonna call me back in a few haven’t heard back yet !! I will not be going back there .

Jasmine Clark: I have been in the market for a new eye doctor for my family. Was recommended by a co worker, but after her recent experience ( who has been a loyal customer for over 10 years with this particular practice) I will be going to a more professionally trained facility that can handle customers service issues when they arise. I just hate to hear about bad customer service and specially when a front desk so called manager and a master degree doctor can’t resolve customer service problems.

It isn’t like going to one of those “chain stores” I feel as though I get a extensive medical eye exam here, as well as a huge frame selection. I have never had any issues with unfriendly staff, it’s actually the exact opposite.

chele chele: I've been a loyal patient since I moved to the area in 2011. I only have Medicare now so I pay out of pocket 20% plus whatever isnt covered by Medicare. In March, like all my regular appts, I had my regular eye exam, contact exam, plus special tests for diabetics. I spent alot out of pocket which included bifolcal glasses and dailies. A month ago, I called to see if I could get some temporary contacts while I ordered more. It was never a problem before. But this time, I was told that because I didnt have a diabetic test 6 mos later in August that I couldn't order more until I do. I wasn't aware of an appt that I missed. She said there wasnt an appt scheduled, no card sent or no.call...I asked. I explained that im still having issues needing readers ontop of my bifolcals and something seems wrong w the script (as I told Dr the week after I got them n March) so I would really like to speak to the dr. Also, with upcoming holidays and me being on a fixed income, there is no way I can pay for the test again in the same year. She said she would call me back and never did. Meantime, after 2 wks, I was forced to put two right eye lenses in which is different strength from left. I was shocked that I havent needed readers anymore. So, after 2 more wks, I called yesterday. At first, Amanda had no recollection of me calling. Then as I started to tell her I wasn't called back and my issues, suddenly she remembered me speaking to the other girl. Yet, she didnt give the call to her. She then didn't want to hear why I was upset or give me any answers as to why I wasnt called back. She was rude. I even heard her take phone away from her ear and tell co-worker something like, "she just cant talk to me". She put me on hold a few times. She then said I could pay for contacts after appt and I could make payments. I told her im having problems w script since March. She told me.dr wont talk.to patients about finances only medical. I said this is medical!!! She put me on hold again and then Ariel got on the phone. Though Ariel was professional and kind unlike Amanda, I was still told I needed to have diabetic test first. I explained I cant until 2020 Then because Im on a fixed income. I told her how I have no more contacts and how i can see now w both eyes wearing right eye. I believe its bc it doesnt have astigmatism in the right eye. I asked if she agreed. She said no that it sounds like Im having issues with my diabetes and even more so I need another special test when I had it in March. I disagree. Sadly, these girl's would not let me get past them to talk to doctor about my issue w contacts and glasses. Infact, Amanda said too many lies that I truly believe that dr doesnt even know I called. I told Ariel to please send me my file. She said she could only send me my script info. We shall see if I even get that. But if dr does know I called and he let his front desk girl's handle my call when I need to discuss this script issue/medical issue w him, then shame on him. And what a shame that they wont let me order contacts until I have this test again, which is not a mandatory test..regardless, my left eye script isnt correct since March. I need to speak to doctor. So now.Im looking for a new doctor and will have to suffer wout contacts. Doc you really screwed up with your front desk staff that replaced the other two girl's that you had the 1st few yrs i went!!! Amanda's customer service skills will cost you more patients than me!!!!

Jonathan Shamoun: Came to west Bloomfield location and dealt with Lindsay the manager. I have never been more disrespected by her and kept repeating that I am asking to commit insurance fraud. She was nasty to deal with from the moment I walked in there. I didn’t end up getting any of my benefits used and got nothing accomplished expect for them taking my money for the eye exam and being RACIALLY PROFILED! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. NASTY ATTITUDE AND NO HELP. Lindsay did not bother to look at my insurance plan and was basically useless. EVERYONE STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!

I can't say enough great things about Dr. Koehler. He's extremely knowledgeable. He explains whatever issue your going through in an easy to understand and concise manner. His caring, compassion, and professionalism always hits the mark and then some.

monnisha woodard: My initial visit was fine, overall everything went well. The employees were a little weird and unprofessional and the doctor told me it was okay to drive home on a sunny day after she had just dilated my eyes... but It wasn’t a big deal. The problem came when I refused to purchase over priced contact lenses from the Normandy location in Sterling Heights. The tech quoted me over 1,000 for a year supply of contacts in which I responded with no thank you, and asked for the prescription to be printed out.. He was hesitant, but gave it to me.. I went to purchase contacts online and when the online contact company called the Normandy location in Sterling Heights, a few days after my eye doctor appointment, someone there told them I was not a client and did not receive my eye Prescription from them and they could not verify my prescription. The online company, had to cancel my purchase, until I can verify my prescription.. as of right now I am out of contacts and will never go back to the Normandy optical Sterling Heights location.

Heena Uddin: I went in for an eye exam for glasses as well as contacts. I had never tried contacts before and found out on this day that I probably never will get them, as I get very squimish touching my own eyeball. It took forever to get one contact in my eye. Dr. Koehler was more than patient with me and encouraged me through the process. He was very nice and understanding. The rest of the staff are also highly professional and friendly. I would recommend this place for their services.
