Hailey Judd: I’ve been going here my whole life and I am very sad to now have to find a new optometrist. My family saw the previous doctor, Dr. Paul, from the 1970s till his retirement. We had a great initial relationship with Dr. Ellie when she took over but have now all left for other doctors. I will no longer be a patient of Dr. Ellie's after her condescending behavior towards my DISABLED GRANDPARENTS and outrageously high prices. My family had to pay over $1,000 out of pocket with 3 VALID EYE INSURANCES on file, which is overly excessive for an office in South Warren, where the vast majority of locals are either below the poverty line or just above it. Stop trying to gentrify us, just because you had access to higher education doesn't make it okay to talk down to people who did not. This was previously a 5 star review and I will remain firm on my 1 star review no matter the response I receive from this office in an attempt to “smooth things over.”Sincerely,Hailey Judd: an 8-mile Warren native and a now MSU Law student who uses her education to help people in need, not abuse them financially or emotionally.

Jim Allard: This was my first time at Warren Optometric Clinic. I thought Dr. Ellie did a good job with the eye exam, and she answered all of my questions. I needed to pick out glasses after the exam with the office staff. That didn't go as well. I was given a price of $1,195, which included the exam fee. When I started to ask about the cost and if there were any other options, I was not given any other options. I was the last patient of the evening and I felt like I was being rushed out the door. Staff should take the time to go over different price options, especially since I was a new patient.

He was friendly and the staff were very kind. I received help from several people-- pre-exam testing, choosing glasses and a contact lens consultation. Everyone was wonderful, and I never felt rushed even though I was a late addition to the schedule and it was getting late in the day.They have a really neat device that takes a photo of your optic nerve/inner eye to record and detect any future changes.I'm very happy with my visit and will consider losing my glasses one of life's happy accidents.

Lorraine Carlisi: I am very near sighted and I also developed double vision. I went to Fraser eye care for an evaluation and Dr Bonafede was the doctor that examined my eyes. He did a thorough examination and gave me the option to choose either eye surgery or a prism. I chose the surgery and I would do it again in a heart if I have to. The surgery was successful and I thank God for this doctor and his expertise!

Mackenzie Romero: I called a few Eye places and most were rude or had no same day appointments available. I was in unbearable pain, it had been a week and it was only getting worse. I had, what I suspected, was a corneal abrasion due to my son poking me in my eye. Fraser Eye Care Center was able to get me in the same day I called. Dr. Bonafede (sorry if I misspelled that) and his team are extremely knowledgeable and have been so kind. Although my eye is still healing it is starting to feel so much better and I am so grateful I found them and they were able to help me! Would recommend.

Josh Davis: Not worth the hassle somehow they pulled up two insurance plans for me due to someone else having the same name and birthdate. They applied them both to the total of the glasses only to realize they made a mistake. I had called to check on if the glasses came in and that is when I was told my bill had increased due to their mistake this is also when I first became aware of the mistake. They did not proactively call me to inform me of the mistake. I was told they would try to see if they can make it right by calling their billing department and would call back by end of day. I never received a call. I called and cancelled the order. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. They have poor customer service and I cannot recommend them. The doctor herself was good but support staff not so much.

Chris Van Mill: I wanted to pass along my sincere thanks to Dr. Williams and Lyndsay at Normandy Optical in Warren. Both Dr. Williams and Lyndsay were professional and patient with me. I had picked out a pair of glasses and once delivered, I immediately had questioned my choice. The glasses were just too heavy on my nose. Lyndsay worked with me, and a new pair was delivered in less than two weeks. It is very rare to find such wonderful customer service. I highly recommend Normandy Optical.

Luke Goocheye: Buyer beware. The eye ware is as shoddy as can be. They cannot size your frames correctly and will not help if you dare ask a question or challenge them in any way. The doctor is too young to work alone and only hides if there is a problem.I also tried to work with Lindsay, she stated she would return my call and never did.Avoid at all costs.

Jonathan Shamoun: Came to west Bloomfield location and dealt with Lindsay the manager. I have never been more disrespected by her and kept repeating that I am asking to commit insurance fraud. She was nasty to deal with from the moment I walked in there. I didn’t end up getting any of my benefits used and got nothing accomplished expect for them taking my money for the eye exam and being RACIALLY PROFILED! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. NASTY ATTITUDE AND NO HELP. Lindsay did not bother to look at my insurance plan and was basically useless. EVERYONE STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!!

I could use the same prescription. Just trying to scam me out of my money but I would highly NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

Tracey Brown: I picked up new glasses 2 years ago, and provided them with another pair of glasses to duplicate the same prescription . The receptionist misplaced my glasses, and I was told by another receptionist because it was two years ago, there was nothing that they could do about it, my glasses were either donated or sent back to the lab. There was no effort to even allow me to pick another pair of glasses at their cost, so I am the one taking a loss!! I will be looking for another place to do business with. I don't care if it was 2 years or 3 years, if you make an error, you correct it period, point blank!!

My daughters received there glasses 3 weeks later but mine wasn’t ready yet they said !! 2 months later I called they said with covid or maybe my insurance they haven’t came yet . 4 months later!! I called in I said covid/ insurance what ever it still shouldn’t take that long so someone called me back in said the web lost them !! They would have to reorder them it will be 2-4 weeks before they come in so here it is 6 months later still haven’t Received them I get a post card to schedule my six month visit so I called and I said you want want me to schedule an appointment with you but I still haven’t received my glasses yet?? The lady said it shows they were picked up in October but I was told in November that the web lost them so idk what’s going on the lady said she was gonna call me back in a few haven’t heard back yet !! I will not be going back there .

Was recommended by a co worker, but after her recent experience ( who has been a loyal customer for over 10 years with this particular practice) I will be going to a more professionally trained facility that can handle customers service issues when they arise. chele chele: I've been a loyal patient since I moved to the area in 2011. I only have Medicare now so I pay out of pocket 20% plus whatever isnt covered by Medicare. In March, like all my regular appts, I had my regular eye exam, contact exam, plus special tests for diabetics. I spent alot out of pocket which included bifolcal glasses and dailies. A month ago, I called to see if I could get some temporary contacts while I ordered more. It was never a problem before. But this time, I was told that because I didnt have a diabetic test 6 mos later in August that I couldn't order more until I do. I wasn't aware of an appt that I missed. She said there wasnt an appt scheduled, no card sent or no.call...I asked. I explained that im still having issues needing readers ontop of my bifolcals and something seems wrong w the script (as I told Dr the week after I got them n March) so I would really like to speak to the dr. Also, with upcoming holidays and me being on a fixed income, there is no way I can pay for the test again in the same year. She said she would call me back and never did. Meantime, after 2 wks, I was forced to put two right eye lenses in which is different strength from left. I was shocked that I havent needed readers anymore. So, after 2 more wks, I called yesterday. At first, Amanda had no recollection of me calling. Then as I started to tell her I wasn't called back and my issues, suddenly she remembered me speaking to the other girl. Yet, she didnt give the call to her. She then didn't want to hear why I was upset or give me any answers as to why I wasnt called back. She was rude. I even heard her take phone away from her ear and tell co-worker something like, "she just cant talk to me". She put me on hold a few times. She then said I could pay for contacts after appt and I could make payments. I told her im having problems w script since March. She told me.dr wont talk.to patients about finances only medical. I said this is medical!!! She put me on hold again and then Ariel got on the phone. Though Ariel was professional and kind unlike Amanda, I was still told I needed to have diabetic test first. I explained I cant until 2020 Then because Im on a fixed income. I told her how I have no more contacts and how i can see now w both eyes wearing right eye. I believe its bc it doesnt have astigmatism in the right eye. I asked if she agreed. She said no that it sounds like Im having issues with my diabetes and even more so I need another special test when I had it in March. I disagree. Sadly, these girl's would not let me get past them to talk to doctor about my issue w contacts and glasses. Infact, Amanda said too many lies that I truly believe that dr doesnt even know I called. I told Ariel to please send me my file. She said she could only send me my script info. We shall see if I even get that. But if dr does know I called and he let his front desk girl's handle my call when I need to discuss this script issue/medical issue w him, then shame on him. And what a shame that they wont let me order contacts until I have this test again, which is not a mandatory test..regardless, my left eye script isnt correct since March. I need to speak to doctor. So now.Im looking for a new doctor and will have to suffer wout contacts. Doc you really screwed up with your front desk staff that replaced the other two girl's that you had the 1st few yrs i went!!! Bea Kiddo: They have a good optometrist for sure, he's good doctor and spends time to answers questions and or concerns.Sometimes some of the staff aren't as "nice," most likely because of my insurance plan I have now.It's a good place to get new glasses fast with a good thorough optometrist.

Mark Gugel: Fortney Eyecare's safety glass selection is second to none; however, they did not adjust the frames of my glasses at all. When I was traveling and complained of headaches, a local optometrist (an out of state associate of Fortney) looked at my glasses and asked who fitted them. The out of state optometrist fitted them for me.

Geraldine Knowles: Service is always great at this location. Julie who service me is always patience and helpful with me when I'm making my selections of my safety glasses and regular wear glasses. Five stars to the service of the whole staff.

Dale Dee: OMG one of the worst experience I ever had trying to find some glasses. I thought I would give this place a try to try the patronize some of the smaller businesses. However it was the worst decisions and experience ever, they did not even wait on me. If you have allergies this might not be the place for you because of the dog that's roaming around. My suggestion is to go to an optometrist where they appreciate your business and we'll wait on you.. that's what I'm going to do

Yolanda Michele: My husband brought a brand new pair of Montblanc eyeglasses into the FORTNEY EYECARE Westland store--where their representative "Tere" assured us that his brand new glasses were in "very capable" hands, to have prescription lenses put in. Tere said they'd be ready in 1-2 weeks. He called the Westland store AFTER the two weeks had passed to learn that his Montblanc eyeglasses "had just been received" by their Warren lab, and TODAY Tere called to say that my husband's brand new Montblanc glasses had been "broken" in their care. Tere told him to call the merchant he bought them from and make a warranty claim. HOW DISHONEST IS SHE?! We're demanding the full refund of $250 we paid for FORTNEY EYECARE to service my husband's brand new Montblanc eyewear as well as the $220 we paid for his brand new Montblanc eyewear.

Kathy Smith: I have gone here for years. Always have had great service. The hours you now have, open only till 5:00 daily and no Saturday hours are forcing me to go elsewhere.

Nicole Brady: I had a wonderful office visit at the Warren location. Everything is sanitized and wiped down to help prevent the spread of covid. The doctor was thorough and helpful. The appointment was quick, I did not have to wait, and everyone was very coordinated. I got a couple discounts which was great because we all know even if you have good vision insurance, no matter where you go there are high out of pocket costs. They didn’t try to sell me on a lot of unnecessary “extras” like so many offices do. Everyone was very kind and helpful!

Shawkat Rahman: Had an eye exam appointment on 03/24/2023 on this location. Every one seemed very professional and respectful. But I was extremely impressed with the Doctor Mr. Mark Lavine. Very wise looking, soft spoken experienced doctor. His soothing soft voice will comfort any one in seconds. Now I am waiting for my eye glass, which they said will come back from lab in 7-10 days. Lets see how the glass comes out. I should be able to modify this opinion after I receive the eye glass. But so far its 5*.

Timothy Jones: Check out SVS Vision 12 Mile Mound in Warren. First exam in a few years, so i wasn't exactly in the mindset to make an appt, but it was a simple appt process on their website. Text reminder was convenient. From start to finish, the staff were awesome, caring, and funny! Took me a considerable time to pick out the right frames but was helped by staff with their honest opinions and humor, making the process quite enjoyable! The Doc was thorough, taking extra time to answer every question I could ask. I was just being curious.. Happy customer, would recommend!

B: Theoni, always provides A+ service. I drive by several other SVS Vision locations to come see Theoni. I live 29 miles away from the SVS Vision location where Theoni works but the quality of service I receive is worth the drive.
