Andrew Ekstrom: They are a go to place for used gear. Even though they are part of larger Corp, unlike Guitar Center, they are all franchises.And to anyone that shops there when I'm there, I appologize. I tend to talk with the staff too much. That's on me not them.

Miles Huijgen: Awesome music shop with a unique inventory you won’t find anywhere else. Everything from synthesizers to flutes, they have it! Nick and his dad Keith are great owners with friendly staff. They’ve also got lots of new instruments too. Plus they put everything they have on their website. Always a great experience every time I visit!
James Blum: This place is stuffed with goodies for us incorrigible musicians. Timbales, saxophones, an electric upright bass, a DX7, on and on plus the usual guitars and so forth. Nice folks.

Daniel Peter: A fantastic music store. Keith, Nick, Evan, and Adam are great people, and they’ve taken MGR to a whole new level. This place has tons of gear, and a lot of unique pieces come and go. Amber Bowman: Terrible customer service. They don't stand behind their equipment. If there's something wrong with it they are in no hurry to fix it once they have your money. We are a family of musicians and will not be shopping here again.
Tyler Clincher: Went in just to buy strings but had to wait a couple minutes because some clown was arguing with the associate behind the counter about the price he would be getting for his amp. The worker handled it like a champ though and he got to me swiftly. It was cool to look around at everything they have too as a first time shopper. Will be returning soon

They went above and beyond to thoroughly secure/protect my items, and box them up right. I was really impressed with their effort. Great people to work with at Music Go Round in Troy.

Drum With Jay: I was there to sell off a few things. Everyone there was super cool! They paid me a fair amount for a stack of drum heads I had, considering how they have to resell for a bit of profit! The store is very clean and they have lots of nice things.
Tet Suo: They have a large selection, because their items are mostly overpriced. They ask top used prices. Not a lot of deals to be had here unfortunately.

Andrew Poler: Absolutely fantastic service! We were at the Solo and Ensemble festival at Rochester high school, where they had a table set up in the hallway. I asked if these guys might be able to re-attach a pinky finger hook on my son’s trumpet. They took care of it right then and there! Clearly, they take joy in going above and beyond. Would absolutely recommend, and we will certainly be back whenever we have instrument repair needs.

Andy absolutely saved me (and the gig) with a short notice pickup install on my upright. Despite being close to closing time for the shop, Andy did the install and let me test it out on his PA. If you’re a string player of any sort definitely check out this shop, a great place to get a fresh set-up on your instrument or buy your new rig!

Joe Vrabel: Andy and team are the best! After having them fix and set up a used strat I picked up, I was sold. I will never take any of my gear to the big-box "center" again. Andy and team will take you through the repairs/adjustments they did, in detail and answer any questions you may have. I now have had them repair & set up three of my guitars and each one came back to me looking amazing and sounding even better. I now go there for lessons too. Overall, a great local business that I am happy to give my business to. Definitely give them a try!
eric kirkwood: I acquired a 1953 Gibson J45 that was found in an attic in royal oak. The guitar had so many cracks and loose bracing I was worried it might be too far gone. Andy completely restored and rescued the guitar while perfectly preserving its patina and charm and it is now the best player I own. I cant put it down. Being a craftsman myself, when I saw Andy's workshop I knew the guitar was in the right hands. This man is a highly skilled artisan. Many thanks to Andy, and to Aaron for the referral. These guys are friendly, accommodating and highly professional.

The owner is super knowledgeable and friendly. they have an impressive selection. they carry a ton of pedals like Boss, JHS, Electro-harmonix, etc. They carry high quality guitar and amps plus other cool stuff like skateboards. i had them do a setup on my PRS and it was very reasonable and well worth it. I'm glad there are still places like this around it blows Guitar Center out of the water

M Malta: My advice... if you’re heading out to visit your hometown and decide last minute to bring your guitar, remember to grab everything. But if you don’t... Garage Band Music has got you covered. Not only was I able to pick up an emergency amp/cord but they were able to restring my guitar super fast after I snapped a string with no spares or tools to do myself! Great selection of strings, cords, amps. I also saw some mighty nice ukuleles in the back! Mike was great! Super knowledgeable, flexible and a pleasure to meet! Thanks for the rescue!

It cost more in gas to buy it. So I’m ok with it. There used gear is good. Fair prices.. I like the store I go there before I go anywhere else’s or online
