Bank of Ann Arbor: what do users think?
S G: I have been banking here for 22 years. I opened an account here when I was just a kid. Whoever the older woman is working at the location on Challis in Brighton needs to work on greeting loyal customers. Not very polite.
HRG Capital: Horrible M&A team, dragged us along just to back out of a deal last minute with no legitimate reason. Avoid at all costs.
David Lazarus: Horrible service and dragged us along for months just to back out of a M&A deal 2 weeks before closing. Unprofessional and would suggest avoid them at all costs for business loans.
Saif Yousif: This is a bank that works in a bullet proof manner. I’ve checked around I know my funds are safe just because of the old proven characteristics they still carry today.
Brian Boesch: We enjoyed working with Kevin and his team to secure a home loan. Highly recommend using them if you are in the process of buying a home!
CRD III: Won’t be opening a business account there because of too many shockingly negative reviews.
John Bogdasarian: Very helpful. Excellent service!
Qianqian Kang: The staffs here are nice, professional, and high efficient.
Joseph Johnson: What a terrible bank. So sad they took over 1st national. Why does the atm not return card automatically after cash withdrawal? Why is your staff so rude all the time. Why did my withdrawal limit go from $500 to $300 @ atm. I have had nothing but problems since bank of ann arbor took over
Bruce Popejoy: I love this branch of the Bank of Ann Arbor. It has great people servicing the members of the bank and the community! I drive out of my way to use this branch because I know everything will be taken care of quickly, efficiently, and professionally.
Michele Worden: This bank is a poor choice for small business owners. They are about a decade behind in capabilities and cash management services and they charge very high fees for routine business processes that are free at other banks
Cara Iafano: This bank is absolute trash and I've only been apart of it for 12+ hours. I have banked with 1st national for 10+ years and was unaware of the merger. Now it's merger weekend and I cant access my money and all branches and customer service phone #'s are closed. Real smart to plan a merger when no one can help. You can't cut people off to their money like this. Seems like this bank cared more about their new fancy signs than making a smooth transition for their customers. I will be changing banks immediately.
Andrew: ATM always seems to be broken…
Kerry Sprague: Used for a home refinance and they somehow calculated the incorrect payoff amount, which resulted in a loss of funds for us. Would not recommend.
Erin Zindle: Bank of Ann Arbor does so much above and beyond what a bank is expected to do. Always friendly, patient with problems and questions, contacting me personally when an account is overdrawn, mercifully waiving fees. In every exchange I feel like I am dealing with a real human being; like a good neighbor, who seems genuinely happy to help. The branches are clean and attractively laid out, even down to the little touches like locally-sourced coffee, granny smith apples, and treats for my kid (always offering it to me first). Not to mention how much they support the arts in our local community which, as an artist, means the world to me. I love banking at a place that is so invested in the heart of Ann Arbor.
Trooper Long: Convenient ATM
Robert Mags: Staff are super friendly, and theres coffee!
Tracy Uguccioni: The lack of interest the staff and management has for a small business customer is sad.
Jeff Hall: Bank of Ann Arbor is genuinely committed to serving its customers with the highest level of service and attention. As a local business owner, I have both personal and commercial accounts here. Over several years I've consistently experienced friendliness, professionalism and a desire on behalf of everyone at Bank of Ann Arbor to deliver exceptional service.
kathy marx: Best bank EVER!!
Allison Fritsch: This is the worst bank in Ann Arbor. Terrible customer service. They seem to be more concerned with coming up with ad slogans, which have become unbearable as well as mildly offensive, than they are with serving their loyal customers. If I could give less than one star in this review I would. Take all business elsewhere.

Bank of Ann Arbor: what do users think?
Cheryl O'Donnell: Went to cash a check written on a bank of ann arbor check, wanted to charge me to cash it because I don't have an account there. Why should I pay to have money to cash a check from THEIR bank? I was thinking of opening an account but do to what I feel is poor banking practices will stay with the credit unions I use.
Mark a. Leech: Bank of ann arbor bought 1st national bank howell...what a JOKE ! , two weeks and FAKE promise's bank card don't work... I'm hungry...had to wait in line to get money from bank that I own...biden inflation had to go back to bank of ann arbor for more money ...bank of ann arbor card don't work!
Eddie Lewis: Staff were helpful here when trying to make international withdrawals.
Swapnaa Jayaraman: We have held our non-profit account with BoAA since 2005 and we have had nothing but the best service. Natalia, the branch manager, is smart, thoughtful, and fiercely protective of her customers. Any request we take to her, she goes the extra mile to make sure it's done. Like another reviewer mentioned, she calls us to warn us of suspicious activities and patiently answers every question we have asked her (some of which were so basic that you'd think they would annoy most people). We are lucky that we started off banking with BoAA and we wouldn't dream of leaving.
Rebecca Hall: We hold a class weekly in their community room. They are very nice and the room has views of both parking lots. It is close to Espresso Royale and to Kroger.
kathy marx: I have the complete opposite view of Shane. I have been a customer of Bank of Ann Arbor for nearly 10 years and this is the branch that I primarily use. Both Mary and Natalia are excellent bank representatives; friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. I do all of my business and personal banking at BOAA and have been nothing but pleased. They even go above and beyond by calling me directly to alert me of any issues with my accounts. I've never had an issue. Ever. I would absolutely recommend them as my bank of choice. In fact I have.
Shane Johnson: DO NOT BANK HERE!!!! This bank is by far the most understaffed and unprofessional bank I've ever been to. On top of being understaffed, the 2 workers that were present upon my visit were completely rude and don't deserve jobs. Upon walking in the bank I waited to be spoken to. I stood in front of a woman named Mary and she didn't speak or even look my way. This is the only bank I've ever walked in, stood in front of someone, and no one spoke. Finally after about 2 minutes of awkward silence, a lady came from the office and asked if I needed help, her name was Natalia. I was inquiring about opening up an account and the terms of direct deposit and making wire transfers and it seemed to me that Natalia didn't have a clear answer for anything. She seemed like she had no knowledge of how thank bank would handle wire fees. Which I thought to be completely outrageous since she mentioned she was the branch manager. I tried to get clarification on the fees and she seemed to get frustrated more and more with each question I asked. She came off extremely rude as if she didn't want my business and like I had no business being there. This by far was THE ABSOLUTE WORSE experience I've ever had at a bank. I would have LOVED to be a secret shopper for Bank of Ann Arbor on this day. I will never be going back and I encourage ANYONE reading this review to not waste your time with bank of Ann Arbor, especially the location off of Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor, Michigan with Mary and Natalia. I'm completely DISGUSTED in their services and employees.

Lake Trust Credit Union: what do users think?
Kristy Cooper: I just spent 30 minutes trying to deposit checks into my business account. This wasn't an anomaly, but how this app works half the time I use it. It times out/logs you out randomly and all you can do is keeping logging in order and over again. Each of my 6 checks required me to log in twice for it to actually register and deposit them. My small business has many older customers who prefer to write a check. There has to be a better solution for your business customers. I have a personal account with you too and your banking app seems to deposit checks much more easily.
Anita Smith: Outstanding service
Rocketman Ventures USA: Short staffed, slow, U of M credit union is by far superior.
Douglas Stout: Absolutely outstanding. Fast, efficient and friendly. We have been with this Credit Union for over 40 years.
Austin Netherton: Everyone is so nice to me at the bank! They say that it's important to manage your money for retirement and have some extra for emergencies, but what they don't tell you is the amazing friends you'll make when you go banking! Don't tell anyone, but sometimes, I even visit this bank to do things I could much more easily do online. And the nice thing is I'm sure they know I could do those things online but they don't tell me I could do it online instead. They are just welcoming and happy that I stopped by to see my friends at the bank. God, I f*cking LOVE banking. It's just, they are just so friendly and helpful, it's hard to pass up an opportunity to visit my new good friends at the bank.
Caitlin Santer: Brandon at Lake Trust was amazing. He was so helpful and had such a positive attitude. Exemplary employee! He did not have to go the extra mile but he did! We are grateful he was there to help us.
Brian Grohe: Opened a new account with them today and Ellaina was amazing! Definitely excited about banking with them in the future!
Brainy Blonde: Always helpful and friendly my card has had 3 fraudulent activities over the years and they caught them rite away and corrected it . Thank you so much for looking out for your members . They always greet you with a smile and are helpful with all questions or issues. Highly recommend this bank for all your financial needs .
Chelsea Anderson: I love this bank! Just a question, are they able to make the debit cards in the store still? I know they were able to do it before covid.
Ty Thompson: Long time member and the current staff is outstanding. I always get a friendly greeting when I walk through the door. I’m in once a week, same routine with my check and every teller knows where I want it deposited and how much cash back without asking. Everyone calls me by name and are friendly, courteous, professional and helpful. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Tenishia Crawford: The Packard branch is my favorite branch to visit! Michelle, Liz, and Nolan are always friendly, helpful, and supportive of our family. I appreciate their willingness to answer all my questions or find the answer if necessary. They never let me down!!!
Entity Keeper: The credit union is very good with great services. The mortgage department fails miserably. I'm a long term member and after a week on non-returned calls I used Huntington Bank for my mortgage.
Nick M: Predatory and deceptive. Lake Trust quietly reverses policy to extract money from poorer members. Foreign ATM Transaction Fee Refunds were silently reversed, turning refunds into added fees of their own, double-dipping into an ATM policy they had lulled members into using for free.My experience: When I signed up for a checking/savings account with Lake Trust around five or six years ago, I was motivated in large part by Foreign ATM Transaction Fee Refunds. Lake Trust offered four per month, which enabled me to have access to ATMs and cash without proximity to physical banking locations. I used ATMs freely with the comfort that these fees would be refunded to me at the end of the month, and they consistently were, for years. As someone with very low yearly income, I valued this feature dearly, and found it instrumental to my ability to use banking services effectively, as well as a primary motivator of my decision to bank with Lake Trust Credit Union. I regularly told others how happy I was banking with Lake Trust, how I finally felt empowered by a financial institution, how I could (at last) have access to my own money without endless fees. I was a deeply satisfied, loyal and evangelistic customer. So when I discovered "Foreign ATM Transaction Fees" in my transaction history, I was confused... what happened to the refunds? I had never used four or more foreign ATMs in a single month, and saw nothing from Lake Trust about a change in this policy. When I saw that not only had Lake Trust stopped providing refunds for Foreign ATM Transaction Fees, but had introduced fees for these transactions of their own, I was livid at this quiet bait-and-switch, a deceptive betrayal of trust. I have no idea how long this reversal of policy had been going on, as Lake Trust doesn't allow me to view my own transaction history beyond a year and a half (or so, when I last checked). The banking institution I had trusted and supported with my money had, without notifying me, chosen to upend its policy to profit by double-dipping on fees that they, previously, had promised to refund. The financial loss that this represents to me personally comprises a significant portion of my monthly income—and has me financially pinched, misled and taken advantage of by an institution I used to trust. If you work for a living, avoid Lake Trust at all costs.
Brandon Joslin: There check cashing policy is never consistent. Predatory practices geared towards low income individuals requiring two forms of Id to cash a payroll check. Manager in photo is rude. I said good morning and he just ignored me to my face. Over this branch is bad.
Mark: Didn’t help with anything worse credit union in Michigan.
N H: Have been a long time member and just opened accounts for both my boys. Everyone is always nice and helpful.
Ann G: Been going here for 20 yrs . I lost all my respect when i had fraud to my account . They would not help me told me there nothing they can do!!!!!.. Im switching to a bank. Least banks protect you ! ...
Louis Feurino: JJ was extremely efficient and helpful at the local branch closing my auto loan. I was in an out and able to get back to my office without having to disrupt my day. On the corporate side, Craig was very helpful dotting the I's and crossing the T's to make sure we had everything in place. The rate was excellent. I'd definitely use them again.
Fierce Ness: Liz, was wonderful!
Ally Insalaco: Need to be open on Saturday and Sunday
Gregory Dingwell: They were able to provide the information we needed while we were traveling.
