Yi-Ru Sosnowski: My son has been taking lesson with Dave for 4 years now. We couldn’t be happier on how he has progressed. Dave is very patient and gentle with his teaching. But he’s also very effective in the way he teaches.
Eric Engel: For someone who was interested in picking up a guitar out of pure curiosity and enjoyment, Dave Buehrer offered an incredible foundation for learning the guitar. Patience in yourself, practicing with a purpose, and creativity throughout the process were all stressed during my time at Oz's music. While various styles of producing a pleasant sound exist, Dave implements learning chords, strumming patterns, and basic music theory early on, so that his students can expand their skills and begin playing recognizable songs, as well as developing and understanding their own sound. I would highly recommend Dave!

Charlene Fluder: I’ve been a student of Brian’s for several years now and can say unequivocally that he is an awesome teacher. He has guided me all the way from early struggles with simply finding the correct notes to play, to a deeper understanding of musical structure and how to really play *music* rather than just playing notes.Classical guitar is not one of the easiest instruments to play well, and as a result of his years of teaching experience and expertise in composition, Brian is able to provide his students with a firm foundation of the necessary technical skills while guiding them through the process with pieces (many of them his own compositions or arrangements) in a way that allows even beginning students to feel the excitement of “connecting” with the music in an artistic and satisfying way.In addition to being a great teacher, Brian is a warm and supportive person who is truly committed to helping his students become the best players they can be. I would heartily recommend him to anyone interested in taking lessons, including beginners as well as players who want to pursue more advanced technical skills.

Joy Meadows: Both of my kids have been going to School of Rock for over a year and absolutely love it! There has never been a day when they don't want to go. The instructors do a great job making it fun yet educational and my kids love being able to choose the songs they want to learn. I've recommended School of Rock to close friends (that have also loved it) and I will continue to recommend them to anyone looking for a great music school.

Simo: We couldn’t recommend the Ann Arbor Saline Music Center more. This is a wonderful place to experience music. You can feel Karen's and Alex's passion for music and teaching in this amazing music school. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and it is always a pleasure to talk to all those nice people who work there.We started going to this school this summer because our 6-year old son asked to learn how to play the drums. We are impressed by what he learned in these few months. This is especially thanks to his wonderful teacher. Garrison made our son feel comfortable right from the start and inspires him every week. He is very patient and makes every lesson a great learning experience. It is very nice to see and feel how a teacher’s passion influences their students and how accuracy combined with fun supports a student’s development in their skills.What else can you ask for than knowing that you found the perfect place and people for your kid (or yourself) to learn an instrument?
Eric: These are the same people who really screwed us over in Ann Arbor. We started with them in May. Then 4 months later we show up for a lesson and the teacher says the whole school is moving to Saline at the end of next month and today is my last day. We knew that they were opening a school in Saline, but they never told us anything about moving the entire school. We enrolled two kids at this school! If we had known they were planning on moving, then we never would have started with them in the first place - but of course, they wanted our money …
Lawrence Siden: This place is special. My son and I learned how to play here, he at the age of 11 and I at the age of 49! They have the best teachers in the world. This is also a really nurturing place for kids. They get them into rock groups ASAP and organise gigs at local coffee shops. The kids learn fast and play really well because they're highly motivated by their peers and by the great music. My son got so much out of this when he was starting out. It really gave him a lot of confidence as he developed his musical chops. He has his own students in Detroit now. I started in the Adult Blues program, then my interest shifted to jazz. At this time the Adult Jazz Class has disbanded, so I play in several outside jazz ensemble classes but still take private lessons at the Center with Carl who who I continue to learn so much from. They also have a guitar building shop in the basement, camps for kids in the summer, and I can leave my guitar here overnight when it needs a setup. Worth every penny.
Nancy Kupina: We have been a part of the AAMC family for going on 14 years! Their partnership in our children's musical education has been an extraordinary experience. We feel incredibly lucky to have such kind, caring and highly qualified professionals in our children's lives. AAMC brings out the best in everyone and is an absolute gem to Ann Arbor. Thank you Alex and Karen for dedicating yourselves to sharing the gift of music with so many adults and young people.

Melissa M: This place is great. I've been taking lessons for about a year and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn a new instrument. I would never have the discipline to practice on my own without some guidance, and it's a lot of fun to learn songs and make progress. My co-worker's daughter also had voice lessons here and recently won a competition!I'm an adult, and there's all ages here, but it's obviously really great for kids as well - they have camps throughout the summer, you can play in a band, and everyone is really friendly. I'm always able to find free street parking nearby but there's a pay lot across the street, too.
Stacey Hansen: The people here love music and love their students. Karen (one of the owners) is incredibly generous, and helped me out to ensure my daughter always had a drum kit available when I had trouble having one at home. Garrison was fantastic with my daughter - knew the music but was good at making a teenager feel comfortable. I would recommend Ann Arbor Music Center to everyone!

Ulysses Balis: I've been a student here for many years. This place is a gem. The level of talent and professionalism of AAMC's teachers is on par with any "big city" venue, such as Berklee or Juilliard. However, the degree of personal instruction is in a class all its own. For anyone wanting to improve their skills with playing an instrument and specifically, with performance, look no further than AAMC. This place rocks, both figuratively and, quite literally.

A2MC is the real deal, the authentic taco that will point you (or your sons and daughters) in the direction of becoming genuine musicians. When the backing track crew that shares the stage with countless of YOUR favorite stars are done with last night's concert, they're here the next morning tuning guitars, practicing paradiddles, and drilling in how Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge.
