Music Lessons with Rebecca Lord: what do users think?
Andrew Woodruff: I've had the utmost pleasure of working with this woman in conducting instruction and in her choirs. She is filled to the brim with musical knowledge and is so eager to share her knowledge with her students. Her work ethic is unparalleled, and I believe she excels in inspiring her students to work as hard as she does. She is bursting with energy and is guaranteed to make every lesson you have with her an absolute joy. I am so honored to have worked with her and she helped me become who I am as a musician today.
David Torres: Dr. Rebecca Lord is a top rate musician, conductor and educator. Not only did she receive her MM and DMA from UCLA under the direction of renowned conductor Donald Neuen, but she brings vast experience in dance, theatre, acting, conducting and voice. She was the Associate Director of Choral activities at UCLA, Voice/Conducting professor at BYU-Idaho and so much more. Her teaching is top notch and very few have come close to the level of progress she can help you achieve. Dr. Lord is able to meet her students where they are in their musical development and equip them with knowledge, experience, and opportunities to help them grow and become their best. In my time studying with Dr. Lord, she was able to teach me concepts, equip me with applicational skills, and was very thorough. She makes sure you not only accomplish a task but also that you understand the process of how to achieve it, how it is relatable to other aspects and how it can benefit you for future challenges. Every time I take lessons with Dr. Lord, I feel uplifted, educated and empowered with knowledge to succeed in the music field. Throughout my study with her (5 years) I have been able to successfully apply for graduate school (both MM and DMA), teach singers and further the developments of my ensembles. Her teachings have always helped me!Take lessons from her! I promise you, you will not regret it and you will see results!!
Haylee Hammond: I’ve never had a better voice teacher than Rebecca! Not only is Rebecca an incredibly talented singer, violinist, conductor etc., but she also coaches with phenomenal mentoring skills. I learned so many unforgettable techniques and felt honored to be a student in her studio! She willingly went out of her way to prioritize my improvement. Rebecca helped me accomplish my goals and shoot for the stars! I always left my lessons feeling happier and motivated. She is kind, genuine, observant, intelligent, supportive, and charismatic. Rebecca is the kind of person you want to create a friendship with forever. I look up to her as one of my hero’s in life. She is a complete master at all she does.
Madison bobcadettes: Becky taught me voice lessons when I was in college. Her knowledge of the voice and the body and mind in general is incredibly vast. And even though she has her doctorate degree, she still takes every opportunity to learn and stay up to date on new and improved techniques. She always knew how to teach me control of my voice and how get the very best sound and volume even on my very worst days. She has such a personal way of teaching for all different personalities and voices and I ended up taking private lessons from her when I finished my time in college and she was incredible at teaching my 10 year old daughter as well. She has no limitations.

The instructors do a great job making it fun yet educational and my kids love being able to choose the songs they want to learn. I've recommended School of Rock to close friends (that have also loved it) and I will continue to recommend them to anyone looking for a great music school.

Ann Arbor Saline Music Center: what do users think?
Ian Mills: This place is great. 3 kids; Violin, guitar, ukelele. Director is nice, they seem to have a very flexible schedule with their teachers.
Patty Valdivieso: Awesome. The people at the Center !Rocks! Spacious cozy and nice place.
Honey Bean Coffee: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismOWNER was very attentive and knowledgeable great selection of product!
Spencer Koch: Great people and great lessons. Plenty of space for parents to hang out of kids are taking lessons.
Sebastian Wreford: There are no finer music instructors in the county; in the region; in the state; in the USA; IN THE WORLD. The Ann Arbor Saline Music Center teaches kids and adults the technique and appreciation of music that sustains and builds the soul. The teachers are heartful and brilliant musicians, eager to thoughfully develop the music interests that are within you, with skills built from real-life experience and years of dedication to the magic of music.
Simo: We couldn’t recommend the Ann Arbor Saline Music Center more. This is a wonderful place to experience music. You can feel Karen's and Alex's passion for music and teaching in this amazing music school. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming and it is always a pleasure to talk to all those nice people who work there. We started going to this school this summer because our 6-year old son asked to learn how to play the drums. We are impressed by what he learned in these few months. This is especially thanks to his wonderful teacher. Garrison made our son feel comfortable right from the start and inspires him every week. He is very patient and makes every lesson a great learning experience. It is very nice to see and feel how a teacher’s passion influences their students and how accuracy combined with fun supports a student’s development in their skills. What else can you ask for than knowing that you found the perfect place and people for your kid (or yourself) to learn an instrument?
Eric: These are the same people who really screwed us over in Ann Arbor. We started with them in May. Then 4 months later we show up for a lesson and the teacher says the whole school is moving to Saline at the end of next month and today is my last day. We knew that they were opening a school in Saline, but they never told us anything about moving the entire school. We enrolled two kids at this school! If we had known they were planning on moving, then we never would have started with them in the first place - but of course, they wanted our money …
Lawrence Siden: This place is special. My son and I learned how to play here, he at the age of 11 and I at the age of 49! They have the best teachers in the world. This is also a really nurturing place for kids. They get them into rock groups ASAP and organise gigs at local coffee shops. The kids learn fast and play really well because they're highly motivated by their peers and by the great music. My son got so much out of this when he was starting out. It really gave him a lot of confidence as he developed his musical chops. He has his own students in Detroit now. I started in the Adult Blues program, then my interest shifted to jazz. At this time the Adult Jazz Class has disbanded, so I play in several outside jazz ensemble classes but still take private lessons at the Center with Carl who who I continue to learn so much from. They also have a guitar building shop in the basement, camps for kids in the summer, and I can leave my guitar here overnight when it needs a setup. Worth every penny.
Nancy Kupina: We have been a part of the AAMC family for going on 14 years! Their partnership in our children's musical education has been an extraordinary experience. We feel incredibly lucky to have such kind, caring and highly qualified professionals in our children's lives. AAMC brings out the best in everyone and is an absolute gem to Ann Arbor. Thank you Alex and Karen for dedicating yourselves to sharing the gift of music with so many adults and young people.
Lisa Yee-Litzenberg: My daughter takes both voice and guitar lessons at the Ann Arbor Music Center. The staff and instructors are great. The owners are very friendly too and make you feel a part of their musical family.
Dawn Marie Pattee: Attentive and knowledgeable teachers great for all levels
Melissa M: This place is great. I've been taking lessons for about a year and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn a new instrument. I would never have the discipline to practice on my own without some guidance, and it's a lot of fun to learn songs and make progress. My co-worker's daughter also had voice lessons here and recently won a competition!I'm an adult, and there's all ages here, but it's obviously really great for kids as well - they have camps throughout the summer, you can play in a band, and everyone is really friendly. I'm always able to find free street parking nearby but there's a pay lot across the street, too.
Stacey Hansen: The people here love music and love their students. Karen (one of the owners) is incredibly generous, and helped me out to ensure my daughter always had a drum kit available when I had trouble having one at home. Garrison was fantastic with my daughter - knew the music but was good at making a teenager feel comfortable. I would recommend Ann Arbor Music Center to everyone!
nicole ardis: Love it here! My child loves the instructors. So happy to have found Ann Arbor Music Center!
Catherine Juon: Our son has enjoyed base lessons with Dave Sharp for years, along with some of the Summer Camps. Dave and the crew are great with kids--meeting them where they're at and making growing as a musician fun!
Keith Knudsen: Great instructors who teach music skill and theory and get the students to love it.
Jenny Tubbs: If you are wondering if this is the place for your music lessons, yes. Call today. You’ll be so glad you did. It’s great for all ages.
Noah Hogan: I've been takinng lessons here since I was 4 years old and they have taught me so much. I've learned jazz, blues and rock guitar, as well as slide there, and could not have imagined a better experience
Ulysses Balis: I've been a student here for many years. This place is a gem. The level of talent and professionalism of AAMC's teachers is on par with any "big city" venue, such as Berklee or Juilliard. However, the degree of personal instruction is in a class all its own. For anyone wanting to improve their skills with playing an instrument and specifically, with performance, look no further than AAMC. This place rocks, both figuratively and, quite literally.
Alexandra DePorre: I cannot more highly compliment the Ann Arbor music center. Garrison was an excellent teacher, very patient and organized in his approach. I can't believe how much I have learned in less than a year. If you are trying to decide if you should take the plunge and start a new hobby, absolutely do it! It's fun- you will not regret it!
Brian Shensky: Housed in what once was the stalwart Al Nalli music shop HQ, you see the various pictures on the walls of countless recording artists that have crossed paths with Alex, Karen, and all the musicians who have taught here before moving on to greener pastures (usually in NYC or LA), and you'd swear you can hear the ghosts of past and current musicians that had been associated with the school before breaking big. A2MC is the real deal, the authentic taco that will point you (or your sons and daughters) in the direction of becoming genuine musicians. When the backing track crew that shares the stage with countless of YOUR favorite stars are done with last night's concert, they're here the next morning tuning guitars, practicing paradiddles, and drilling in how Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge. To join A2MC is to fully immerse yourself in the deep-rooted history and future of the Ann Arbor and Motown music scene.
