Gym America: what do users think?
ZINA: Gym America was my second home. I practice/competed here 30 years ago. It was one of the best times of my life💕Now my niece competes and practices here. The staff is always top notch. The owners Claudia and Ed are wonderful ppl and super talented in coaching!
Luke Hamilton: There is so much emphasis put on the whole person, not just the athlete. The boys have struggled together and been successful together. It’s so much more than just another Gym. Coach K and GA are part of our family.
Lorien Wenger: Our son started in the toddler program around 3yo. It was a great place for his energy and wall climbing. He’s now 15yo and competing level 8 on the Boy’s Team with Coach Kurtis and we all love Gym America! There is so much emphasis put on the whole person, not just the athlete. The boys have struggled together and been successful together. It’s so much more than just another Gym. Coach K and GA are part of our family.
Christine Asidao: Gym America is a true gem for our community. We have been part of the Gym America community since before the competitive boys team was established. We are especially grateful for Coach Kurtis and his commitment, care, and support of our boys, not only as gymnasts, but as individuals. This was especially evident during the height of the pandemic. Even though we were not able to meet in person, he found creative ways for the boys to connect via Zoom and practice together remotely. Later, practices were done outside. And when indoor practices resumed, attention to safety continued while maintaining communication and connection. Underneath all of this was for our boys to stay connected socially and to have a sense of belonging. Gym America staff develops amazing gymnasts, but most importantly, they focus on the whole person, not just the athlete. This really matters and I am so grateful to the entire staff, Claudia and Ed, and Coach Kurtis for helping our son develop into the wonderful young man he is today. Thank you, Gym America, we are so happy to have found you all those many years ago.
Judith Smith: My son has been at Gym America since he was 8 years old, and he is now 17! It is his home away from home. He has gained tremendous gymnastics skills (vault...rings...etc...), and most importantly, Gym America has helped him grow in so many ways as a person. The men's coach (Kurtis Rosen) is incredible. If you are interested in having your son learn gymnastics in a supportive environment--this is the place to be!
Rev M: Awesome place for gymnastics! Our youngest (5yr) started this year and loves it. Instructors are fun and patient. Kids of all ages practicing. Facilities look well kept and maintained. They even offer open gym on Saturdays, but I think you have to register or call ahead for that.
aj shah: Registered my child for a class, I guess it was not confirmed. We showed up on Saturday for the class and the front desk lady was EXTREMELY rude. I say “hi My child X is here for a class.” She’s like “no you’re not—our classes have been full for months”. I asked if we could register or be placed on a waitlist and she’s like “umm no you’ll hear from us if that’s a possibility”. Now my toddler is crying. My fault for not confirming we were registered, but goodness she could be kind about it. They very well May have a good gym, but I’ll never know.
Ramy: Nice place, friendly staff. My kids like it.
Johann Majer: Great n friendly place
Olivia Anne: it is quite literally impossible to ever speak to someone on the phone here.
Alexandra Kubiak: Great gym, overall. My preschooler loves our weekly class! Was disappointed to learn that members must pay for weekly classes, even if the instructor needs to cancel; while they do offer "make up days" on the weekend, this supplemtary time doesn't work for our family's schedule, and we were still required to pay for a class that wasn't offered for us during the time we are registered for. I do, however, love that all ages perform in the same, large space, allowing my youngster a full visual experience. They love going every week. I love that they are making it available for parents to watch their child, while still enforcing strict masking, sanitizing, distancing guidelines.Front desk needs support! They are always understaffed when we are in at a seemingly busy time, leading to lack of gym members' ease of getting scanned and given the "go" to join their classes; takes away from potential welcoming demeanor.
Cinnamon Howard: It’s a amazing place we’re your kids get to have fantastic coaches and good practice and structure.
Ruth Estabrook: My preschooler has been taking classes at Gym America for 6 months and she loves it. Coach Jamie is amazing with the littlest kids; she's funny and silly all the while teaching gym skills and helping them learn to take turns and listen. The staff, coaches and students all wear masks and stay distanced from each other. The check-in process is streamline and the facility is spotless. As soon as instructional classes resume I will enroll my first grader here too. Thank you!
Heidi Weise: Love Gym America! This is our 9th year as a part of the GA family and we have been consistently happy with our experience, both from the gymnast and parent-of-gymnast perspectives. Everyone we work with at the gym, from the coaches to the gym owners to the staff members, are so professional, caring, and dedicated to the well-being and success of our daughter as a gymnast and as a person.
Casey Bishop: Positive:Professionalism,QualityGym America has amazing coaches that have helped my daughter not only grow as a gymnast, but also helped her gain confidence. They have also taken the health and safety of the students seriously and are actively updating protocols to meet current situations.
Amy Landingham: We love Gym America! My daughter has been a part of the GA family for 9 years. I think the thing that the GA team does best is handle adversity. They impressed me with the way they used the Larry Nassar case to empower the kids to use their voice, and now they have been ROCK STARS in handling the pandemic. I literally trust them with my kid's life. I'm so grateful for the influence the coaches have been my daughter's life. I highly recommend them to everyone I know.
Patricia Leasure: Exceptional place for kids to learn not just gymnastics, but to find friendship, and build integrity, strength and character. This gym is one of a kind!
Mike Siegwald: The gym is fine for a place to take kids. The owner tried to involve herself in my child custody case.Something she wasn't involved but took it upon herself to get mixed up in. Go elsewhere. I'll pay your first month
Robin Kind: Toddler time is great!
Evette Dziedzic: I love this place a million times over. The staff is so friendly and kind and have helped my daughter build character, friendships and just have fun when going through tough times. They teach kids at so many different levels of experience but treat all gymnasts with respect, compassion and support. We’ve been attending for a few years and have no intention of stopping any time soon!
Jamie VanEpps: We have been coming to Gym America for the past 8 years. As a mom of 2 boys, my goal for them has never been anything more than get stronger, more coordinated and have fun. Gym America is a place they have done that and so much more. The motto of “Gymnastics today. Character for life” has played out in so many ways for both boys. We have been supported through our journey with gymnastics AND life (good and bad times) by administration and coaches at every level. Our family is very thankful to call Gym America home.

Champion Gymnastics Ann Arbor: what do users think?
Paige Espinoza: My 3 year old has gone for almost 2 years now and she adores it here. They’re very attentive and teach quality skills. Highly recommend
Matt Chaiken: While the owners/instructors have signs up that it's better to let your young gymnast go through class without thr distraction of parents, etc., we've discovered that simply using common sense and making sure if they seem like they first starting to want people to clear out you do so honestly seems to be good enough. Thankfully so because the space is huge and interesting and the instructors awesome to watch.
Theresa Smith: We have been a Champion rec family for over 8 years. Laurie, the owner, has a big heart and truly loves gymnastics. Your child will love Champion - they have programs for every level and interest. Most recently, my son has taken the ninja classes and they are super fun and engaging.
Jo Cook: This place is a dream. I bring my 1 year old here for toddler gymnastics but truthfully, I have just as much fun as he does. We have met so many fun kids and the curriculum is loose enough that my child can enjoy, explore and learn. Love it here!
Michael Hejka: Went for a 4-year-old's bday party. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I felt my kids were safe the whole time.
Amber Scott: Our first visit, here, was yesterday. I couldn't be more happy with it! I was SO happy that my little guy didn't have to wear a mask,to participate. So was he! The facility smelled and looked super clean.......Every single person we talked to,was extremely pleasant and helpful. My son had a blast,as well. He can't wait to go back!
Carrie Mueller: I reached out to CG in anticipation of grandson's visiting from another country for a month this summer. Despite the visiting being between sessions, they made accommodations where possible to include the boys in trail classes. The equipment is amazing and the coaches were working individually with the 5 kids in the class (2 coaches) ages 3-5. I liked the different ways they were teaching from this very young age the things that will allow the children to compete if that is where they are headed in a fun non-stress environment. Now that my grandson's are enrolled, I hope they can attend open gym whenever they are staying with grandma.
Emily Youatt: The gym is not complying with current guidelines (nor their own policies, as posted on their website) for mask adherence. Most gymnasts are too young to be vaccinated, and yet staff are not wearing masks and are not enforcing mask wearing on young (elementary school age) gymnasts. I may return to the gym once my child is eligible/has been vaccinated, but at the moment the recklessness and lack of communication to families makes this an unsafe space.***EDIT***: When I spoke to the owner several days after posting this review she was pleasant and graciously refunded my fees paid for a future session. While I wish there was a different approach to mask wearing at the gym, I respect the owner’s willingness to refund my costs due to my discomfort with their practices.
Tiffany Ellsworth: Thank you Champion Gymnastics for providing a safe and fun gym home for my kids. My son LOVES your Ninja Program! My daughter started Gymnastics as a terrified little girl who was afraid of most skills. She has since gained so much confidence that she now does cartwheels in the house and tries to go upside down any chance she gets!Champion Gymnastics of Ann Arbor is a wonderful gym and the staff is very positive and uplifting. I cannot imagine sending them anywhere else!
Robert Smothers: The CG space is beautiful! When I first walked in I was blown away with how much equipment was there and how clean it was. I am not a gymnastics expert, but they seemed to have everything anyone would need to be a successful gymnast. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I have coached tennis in the area for many years and rarely come across an athlete that has not done some programming at CG. They do a great job of teaching athletic skills while keeping it fun for the kids. Highly recommended!
Ruth Estabrook: My 7 year old son has been doing the Ninja program here at Champion Gymnastics for the past year and he absolutely loves it! If I could give this gym 10 stars I would. This is the only extracurricular activity we did throughout the pandemic and I could not have been happier with how professional and caring the coaches and staff have been. This has been an extremely challenging year for everyone, especially young kids, and I am so grateful to the team at Champion Gymnastics for providing our kids with a safe place to practice. The two Ninja coaches, Skye and Nate are absolutely amazing and my son really looks up to them. They are great with the kids, so enthusiastic and motivating, and are always smiling and super friendly. My son has done boys gymnastics in the past but he really loves the Ninja program because it is fast paced and mixes in some fun playground activities as well as great gymnastics moves. After a year in this program, I have noticed a BIG increase in his strength, focus, and confidence.
Rylee O'Neil: I did competitive gymnastics through Champion for about 2 years. I absolutely loved my coaches , I always felt so welcomed and like they were always excited to have me back. The coaches were really easy to get along with, including the other staff that I may have not worked a lot with. I would always walk in and be happy to be at Champion Gymnastics. Launie is such a great owner and knows for sure the right ways to run a good gymnastics business. She is always full of joy and never fails to make sure you are doing good and enjoying your experience throughout the gym, as a kid. I learned a great deal of not only skills from coaches, but also life lessons. I was laughing everyday I was at practice(and also working hard of course) . I could not have asked for a better gym to finish up my gymnastics career at, and I believe I could not have been the successful gymnast I was in my last years. I would always enjoy working towards competitions and having the joy behind having such a great team to go along with. I highly recommend this gym to anyone and everyone looking for a gym that makes you feel like you are part of a family. During the beginning of corona , it was my senior year of high school , and I was devastated that I could not finish out my gymnastics career, that I started when I was just 7 years old. The staff was able to send me a closing out gift and we had a goodbye zoom at the time and it made me feel so loved and appreciated for the hard work I had put into many years of gymnastics. I will forever be able to call this place a second home and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a genuinely great place to start their kid out in the sport of gymnastics :).
Danielle Lynn: Fantastic staff and so much fun for the kids. They go out of their way to make sure everyone is safe.
Kristina J: We just finished our first 8 week session with our toddler, and have already enrolled her for the next session because she has loved it so much! The coaches did a wonderful job of teaching to the children’s current level(s) while remaining realistic about the fact that sometimes toddlers just want to do their own thing :). They allowed our daughter to follow her own interests in class when appropriate and never made us feel like we had to force her to participate in a way that she wasn’t yet interested in/ready for. This made classes fun and stress-free for all of us... And despite often wanting to move to the beat of her own drum, she has learned so much here! She tip toes around the house and throws her arms up saying, “Tah dah!,” she tries to get up and walk on anything that even slightly resembles a balance beam whenever she has the chance, she does her “butterfly” leg stretches almost daily, and she chats about gymnastics and the coaches at Champion all the time!
Steven Finn: the classes have been good however they are now forcing kids/parents to buy their shirts in order to attend their class. so now just for my kids to attend they are charging $25 per shirt to classes that we are already paying for.
Shannon Brown: Very nice facility, friendly coaches, great with my little guy. I feel like the price is right for the amount of time we are in the gym. Has a great open gym schedule!
Jamie Kunzelman: From the owner to the teachers this place has been incredible for my girls!
Janet Llerraf: The worst experience in my child's life! The coaching staff (at the time) was inexperienced, mean and just horrible to the girls. I sincerely hope they've improved.
Amelia Kinnard: My sister attends classes here and loves the coaches and the gym space! Great location. Very happy and thankful we chose Champion AA!!
Jessica Anderson: We recently tried two free trial classes for my 6 year old and 11 year old. My 11 year old struggles with gross motor skills and coach Jullianne was so encouraging, supportive and friendly to her. It was a great experience!
Aaron Padgen Soucy: Champion gymnastics is not only a fun gym for kids to experience new things but a safe place for kids to take risks. After watching my nieces (4 and 6) in class it is evident that the coaches respect the children and value their abilities. Classes are fun, structured, and engaging to gymnasts at a variety of levels! Now if I could only convince my son to give it a try!

The Health & Fitness Center at Washtenaw Community College: what do users think?
Hannah Wise: Great massage therapist! Impressive!!!
Veronica Kerr: Very pleasant experiences here overall. Clean and respectful! Staff is always informative and courteous. Equipment is well maintained. I joined via the myfixRX program and am pleased with how well it is going.
Josephine Brown: I love coming here, but it’s frustrating that almost all the classes fill up super quick now. That was my whole reason for joining. If possible it would be great if they could add more classes.
Kathleen Hiraga: The best gym anywhere! Staff, personal trainers, Zach their massage therapist and classes are all top-notch.
Sage Belrose: Very lovely space. Felt more like a spa than a gym. Natasha helped me with signing up and gave me a tour. Vlad helped me with paperwork. Sara has been my personal trainer and has done a fantastic job of knowing my needs and creating unique routines that push my limits.
kat m: Zach is amazing 🤩 get a massage with him you won’t regret it Best massage ever !!! N great prices too
Jackie Whitus: A little pricier but the amenities and group fitness classes make it well worth the money.
Mone W: Vladimir was condescending towards me when I checked in today. He referred to me as a "valued customer" when he knows I'm not a customer and I'm part of another program associated with WCC.
Mark Schoenhals: It’s a decent lifting gym, not very busy and the track is nice. Also, the locker room is nice. However, the free weight area leaves a bit to be desired, and it’s a very small area compared to the rest of the gym. The lighting is quite dim, and there is very little “energy” in the gym, overall. Nice place but it just feels like the hospital that’s next door.
Jim Edwards: Nicest (but not the cheapest) gym in the area. Mostly back to the pre-pandemic norms, but you still are supposed to reserve your spot in any of the classes that are offered.
Laura Otto Phillips: The Massage Therapist Zach on site was very thorough & professional. I got an amazingly effective massage & some good, specific feedback.
Ruth Shamraj: I highly recommend the massage services of Zachary Storey. He is a courteous, professional, and skilled massage therapist with several years of experience. He listens to what the client says and always asks to see if the client is comfortable.
Bill Moran: Everything is clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful. Whirlpool is a very nice place after a workout.
Michelle Keen: Love this place! They provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream, qtips and water as well as self creating locks, women's/men's only hot tubs and wet and dry saunas- I believe they have a Co-ed hot tub as well in the pool area...and exercise classes, exercise machines and free weights as well as nutritional classes and incentives to work out!
Sherri Fountain: Zach Stoney, the massage therapist at WCCTHFC, is amazing and so good at what he does! In addition to being a great massage therapist, he has a mild manner and is an excellent “teacher.” He has taught me a lot about anatomy and how to relax and enhance my health! I highly recommend him! 🤗
Andre Kormendi: Great facility, all the free weights and machines you could want, plus sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, lap pool, heated saltwater pool, 1/8 mile indoor track. A ton of classes and trainers available as well, at both free and reasonable cost. Friendly folk, individual combination lockers. Nice showers, including handicap accessible ones, suit dryers. Free lotion, deodorant, hair spray, mouthwash. All wrapped in a clean and well maintained package. You really couldn't ask for more.
Holly Ganger: The actual facility is wonderful but the staff members have such a lack of communication between each other. If you call you’ll be on hold for a long time and you’ll just constantly be transferred from one person to another. Nobody seems to know what’s going on or are able to answer questions about classes.
Jamie MacLaren: I’m a huge fan of THFC at WCC! The membership cost seems a little high at first but when you realize what all it includes, it’s well worth the cost. Having locker and towel service included is a huge bonus, most classes included, and pool/hot tubs/sauna/steam room. As a runner, I really appreciate the indoor track for the winter days that are too cold or too icy to run outside. I’ve always had positive interactions with staff and have appreciated all the ways they’ve protected their patrons during COVID.
jeffrey willets: I LOVE this place.. the people who work there, the equipment, the steam room, the warm and cold lap pools and the whirlpools.. I also love the massages I've received (you sign up for them).. Zach has given me two great massages (deep tissue) and I feel like a million bucks! (but you don't need a million bucks to join or to get a massage:)...
Maartje van den Bogaard: Love this gym! The equipment is great, there are many options to vary in routines to keep up motivation. Staff is super helpful. The only thing I think should be improved is opening hours. Evening hours are limited.
Ryan Quick: This is known as the best gym in A2, hands down not only is it the best in the city it has even more perks than the “VIP” gym Equinox.
