Kroger: what do users think?
Kelsey M: Not enough staff so everyone has to go through self-checkout with full carts of groceries which you can't fit in the bagging areas. Not a single cashier and the line for checkout is going down the aisle. One of the doors has been broken on and off for months and blocked off. So people who don't drive have to walk through the street because there's no sidewalk to get to the door that's actually open. Often out of hand baskets so you have to go find them at the self-checkout or go across the store to the closed entrance. The produce section is small for a grocery store. Poor selection in most departments. They'll have the exact same item in different 5 different brands but no variety in flavors or offerings. Price tags at times are missing or outdated.
Eileen Fields: Huge with everything you need to make dinner or for a midnight snack! 😁
Larry Berry: I love Kroger! ❤️
Lelee: Worst Kroger I have ever been to. Store manager Brian does not know what he is doing. He refuses to hire any help knowing the store is filthy and dirty. Please do not give this store your business. Go to Meijer!
Marie Barksdale: For a Kroger is, this one is on the small side, but the location can be handy. The staff are friendly, and the store is generally clean. It’s not the best Kroger’s for a large family. Tends bit more towards health food as opposed to bulk food. Very lovely garden and gift shop. This location is very good for smaller and older families/households.If you were looking for more cheap, bulk large, family shopping, the Carpenter location is a good option. (it’s also across from an Aldi’s. So that is even more options to stop and get some bulk stuff for cheap! TBH, I still tend to stick with Kroger’s because I know where everything is and it’s reliably there. But it’s cool to have two options in the same location.)I do want to add that Kroger’s in general are very good at marking gluten-free items which is awesome. They are also very WIC friendly. This location is better than some. FWIW the best location for using WIC is actually the one off Michigan Ave. But it is also a pretty rough area
Kayla: Great that everything was stocked
Dixie Stewart: They need to hire cashier's. The self scan is supposed to be for a few items not full carts 😏
Vanessa Prophete: Worst Krogers I’ve never been to, Staff is not helpful, the assistant manager Cheyenne is very rude. Will not return.
Pierrelynn Prophete: Cheyenne "assistant customer service manager" needs a customer service course right away. This so-called manager was extremely rude and unhelpful. The customer service desk was closed due to being short staffed and apparently I disturbed her on her break because she said without looking at me while walking away "it's closed now and I'm on my break" although Barb (a cashier) was kind and willing to assist me she was not able to assist with money services. As a new resident of Michigan who lives in the immediate area I will never step foot inside this location again as it was a horrible experience. This team member should be reprimanded and should receive a one on one course on customer service and kindness. Thank you for the warm Michigan welcome Kroger. A special thank you to Cheyenne, your days are numbered in that store with such a poor attitude and treatment towards customers. Never again!
William Adams: Returned bottles and only 2 of the 3 were available. All aisles seemed ridiculously small, crowded and compact. I did recieve excellent service and girl scout cookies upon exiting. Bathrooms were clean and parking was reasonable.
Debra Murdock: Let's go Kroger ING that's the motto and Kroger ING we went. Good ppl and helpful large selection of product. I would def go back
Dominique Sarabia: Tim in vegetables was amazing! We saw they had no more shallots and Tim overheard us. He told us to wait while he went into the back to get us fresh shallots. He also gave us more fresh garlic as well. Tim is amazing ❤️
Richard Adler: Many items are usually out of stock or they can't get any. This is true especially if Kroger brand products forcing us to buy the expensive brand of the product
にゃんこ先生: 少しではあるが日本食材が置いてあるお店。豆腐や、冷凍食品、カップ麺などはここで揃う。野菜などは現地の物。ビールなども高いが日本の物を置いてある。
Bruce C: I miss Hiller's!
BALAJI RAO D: Very Good.
Brook Miller: Love this grocery store. It is in a great location and has a good selection of products.
Pick a Username: Whyyyy are kroger bottle returns so garbage?? In general though, how tf is every one of your stores bottle returns dirty and broken?? Meijer doesn't have that issue!! Except i shouldn't have to go to one specific place just to take bottles back. Ridiculous.
Aaron “Magnificent” Mood: Digital cuponsystem is a complete bait and switch scam. It's impossible to use the system unless you follow each step in order, otherwise your order is rug up at full charge.
Mike M.: I love Kroger and miss not having one to shop in down south.
Stefani Kaye: Service Desk never open, they aren't even following their temporary covid hours, how are people supposed to pay their bills? My rent is now 3 days late, with a $30 fee and Kroger Management is to blame. Was told by the skeleton crew of two cashiers working (very hard and trying to cover for their manager) that their manager is on break. We waited to speak to management about why they're so understaffed they don't offer services they legally have to, this is the reason they have liquor licenses and lottery kickbacks from the govnt, TO OFFER THESE services! management never showed face. pathetic. i hope if those two VERY hard working cashiers want a better job, its 18$ an hour over at U of M, no experience needed.

Kroger: what do users think?
Jeremy Crosmer: This Kroger recently began posting misleading signs which hide the retail price of their items. The "Price with Digital Coupon" is shown in big numbers, but the actual retail price is completely blocked by the black bar sleeve holding the sign. Because of this, I was charged $5 more on my grocery bill than I was expecting. Many customers will not notice and will end up paying much higher grocery bills. I have not seen this kind of misleading practice in other stores, so I felt it was important to share my experience with this store so customers can decide for themselves whether they want to risk being tricked by a sneaky marketing strategy. I will shop there less frequently than before, but if this signage is fixed to display the retail price very clearly, then I will take down this review and continue my normal shopping habits.
Upasana Thakuria: Good grocery store to get all basic essentials, not too fancy just simple
Dave Leland: Found exactly what I was looking for.
Qiling Zou: The produce shelf is always empty… and they seems short-staffed
Brian Kennedy: It's not their fault! The workers are doing their best. Inadequate staff. No checkout help. Kroger is an increasingly worsening experience for the customer and Kroger executives don't seem troubled by that. It's the closest grocery to my house and probably the cheapest but I am looking. The staff is friendly and as helpful as management let's them be.
Bruce Geffen: It's Kroger...corporate grocery through and through. Workers are awesome here!
Nicole Coleman: I was in Kroger last nite(4/1/2023) n there was a man jus in the parking lot walking up on cars wit women only, the man walked up on my car, I go in the store to let them know that there is a man in the parking lot harassing women, I was told that it wasn't their problem. Ladies please be careful when shopping at this location, if something was to happen to you in the parking lot, Kroger isn't gonna help u... I'm very disappointed in the management n employee at this store.....
Mario Sanchez Gumiel: Horrible place. I always struggle finding the groceries I need. The self-checkout is always overcrowded because they close other areas. Many times, the place is not very clean. The staff is most of the times checking their phones or talking. I assume they are not paid well. I could accept these points if prices were low, considering that they do not clean the place very often, they do not get enough groceries, and they do not pay well to the (small) staff. But not. Since the Covid lockdown, they have raised prices. I do think ALDI is much better.
Saurav T: Good place to shop for your daily needs although try to reach by afternoon otherwise a lot of fresh food items are out of stock.
Lea Charlton: Kroger the store is large and well-lit, staff are helpful, and prices tend to be really good.
Basic Joe: I dislike this Kroger so much. The staff is fine it’s the store itself - the store is not run well. Never enough staff, it’s dirty and expensive, they’re ALWAYS out of stuff and it’s check yourself out at all times. No help whatsoever. When I go to Meijer - my bill is half the price and I can find staff if I need assistance. The only reason this store exists is to prey on the North Campus students by overcharging for everything. If you can - go elsewhere, you’ll save more then you spend on transportation, you’ll actually have items on the shelf and staff is available.Kroger is a monopoly now and it’s glaring.
Jack Cawthon: What an absolute dismal excuse for a grocery store. This place seems to get worse every year, with now even longer waits due to only 2 lanes for self check out and perpetually shrinking aisles that you can’t even turn your cart around in. No blame to the workers who I know are trying their best, but the people at the corporate level should be ashamed at how awful this store is. You basically have to budget an hour plus on a weekend to get groceries of any kind.
C E: Doesn't have tap and pay or a way to manually input cards. Also really busy and service is variable. Finally the bathrooms are a complete state of mess not that that's huge but it is annoying.
Ирина Дыкуша: Nice
Michael Steelman: 9 Times out of 10 its worth it to go anywhere else. The selection and quality of produce is the worst in Ann Arbor. The online ordering experience at this specific location is a joke. The store is in total disarray
Brock Lahart: The people are friendly, but they often keep no lanes open other than self checkout. Busch's is very close by and almost always has full service checkout lanes open.
Kevin Osak: I just bought and ate the best apple turnover in my life. It was fresh and delicious. It was Kroger brand. I highly recommend them.
Christina V: The produce section is always completely empty lately and employees are just standing around talking or on their phones. I resent that I have to pay $7 for organic strawberries after sifting through the moldy ones because there’s no regular strawberries or anything. What little produce there might be is dead and sad looking
Bill Arnold: Only go if you have an hour to pick up 2 items. It is all self service, no cashiers. They argue with you about bottle returns, the lazy workers tell you there is no deposit or they dont sell the product without checking and then you have to go get the bottle to prove it, many times over. It is exhausting. I have lived in this neighborhood 25 years and the past 6 months I have watched this Krogers turn into dump. Empty shelves, dead produce, and the organic/health food (minimally processed) section has been eliminated and whats left dispersed through the store so the downgrade isn't so obvious. I shopped here for so long because it was closest and it used to be the best. Now, I guess it is mostly for students and those who are not so particular about the quality of food they eat. Hello Busch's.......
BALAJI RAO D: Excellent.
Paul F: Edit: increasing from 2 to 3 stars because they use awesome Cisco hold music. This location clearly struggles to find enough employees. On a Sunday evening, the produce was mostly empty. Typically the only checkout option is a bay of 6-8 self checkout stations with a decent line. On occasions when I need customer service, it is closed. "Closed" is a good way to describe this store's general approach to customer service. The store location is very convenient for many pedestrians, but I recommend going to one of the other grocery stores in the area for attention and selection.
