Because I want to replace the AC with an air source heat pump, many contractors cannot do that or tried to talk me out of it. I also asked many technical questions about the options. Steve with Jetstream is knowledgeable on heat pumps and electrification. I am happy with my decision.Recently, I hired them again to improve the duct system. The airflow in my basement is not good. So the basement is always cold. After inspection, they suggested installing two return vents in the basement because no return vents were installed. They did it. The return vents improve the airflow and make the basement more comfortable. John Hebert: This company was the subcontractor when we built our home in 2009. This has turned out to be one of the worst experiences of our life. The system they installed has gone down at least 5 times in the last 4 years and cost us over $10,000. I would recommend anyone to stay away from them. Unreliable and unresponsive. Stopped using them several years ago for maintenance. Their rep Jessie was good but the owners were uncooperative.

Some companies straight up refused to service my condo because the unit is too difficult to get into and removing the AC would be very difficult. He then came out and gave us an estimate at 8PM after he finished a service call. Yes, he works and also provides estimates. Our house is an old country house, clapped together with wads of chewed bubble gum and band aids, so we have experience with contractors/estimators. Hamza was a breath of fresh air. He didn't try to upsell us once. He asked what we needed and gave us precise estimates for just that, beating the big liar-been-around-forever-upselling corporations' estimates by more than half. Incidentally, Hamza also worked all day installing the unit. Next, Dan. He was fantastic. Hamza told us he had 30 years of experience and it showed. He patiently listened while I explained what a contraption our house is and what we can and can't do to it, and then he did exactly what we discussed, perfectly. Dan also allowed me to ask him a million questions, unflinchingly, for which he had answers. The product is reputable and the installation was first class. For example, I am writing this review in my home office with warm feet for the first time ever. Dan and Hamza showed up on time and also cleaned up exceptionally -- the basement looks better than before they came. Lynn Shaw: Shortly after I moved to my current home last year, I remodeled two rooms in my basement, and laid premium vinyl tile in both rooms. Next, my furnace needed replacing, so I went with a firm I had years of experience with - Koch and White- to replace my furnace and install a new humidifier. Unfortunately, their technicians drained my new humidifier into a floor drain without testing the drain first. The drain was not able to accommodate the additional condensate from the humidifier, and my brand new floors were completely ruined (flooded) and had to be removed. My initial conversations with K&W made me think that they accepted liability, since they didn’t test the drain. (Five licensed professionals have since told me you should ALWAYS test a drain.) K&W agreed to have their insurance adjuster call me. The adjuster called, was extremely cocky on the phone, asked a few simple questions, informed me that they “NEVER test the drains” and, without ever setting foot in my home, denied any responsibility. Two days later I received a denial letter in the mail. I never heard another word from Koch and White.It doesn’t matter how good your product and services are if you don’t stand behind them. The amount I paid to have my floors mitigated then replaced would have been chump change to Koch and White. But to a senior on social security, it was huge. Lesson learned. Daniel Hall: I have been a customer for nearly 10 years. I had a serviceman out because I was experiencing a musty smell when turning on the furnace. The serviceman came out while my wife was home (I was at work) and looked at the furnace itself, but did not check the condensation pump or the humidifier (the main components that may contain moisture). He said it was most likely a normal smell and started the paperwork on the $90 service call. I called and had to convince him to go back and check the condensation pump. When he did, he found that it was full of mold. And this is the same company I have been paying every year to clean and check my furnace. The response I got from the service manager was "not every furnace has a condensation pump" and "my technicians are supposed to clean the pumps if needed during a furnace maintenance for an additional charge". Obviously, they hadn't done that. This was a failure in service that resulted in a potential health risk for my family. I was in no way satisfied by the customer service response I received and have lost all faith in Koch & White.Service:Heating system maintenance

While work was well-done (hence 2 stars) and cert sticker on unit was signed and dated, contractor did not complete Pittsfield Twp cert form which we apparently require to operate rental. We called Koch and White in August after Twp requested form. We were told they cannot provide form for April service and offered to charge us for another identical service plus the cert fee. After speaking to a second person, they offered to half the service fee. Yuriy Goykhman: I called K&W regarding a pungent smell coming out of the furnace exhaust suspecting a secondary heat exchanger failure. They were able to send a tech within 1 hour of my initial call. Zach thoroughly inspected the furnace and confirmed the exchanger failure. He explained my options and we decided to go with the replacement of the heat exchanger. The next day they called me and told me that they received the part and would be able to install it today. The installation went smoothly and took about 4 hours. In addition to the furnace, Zach noticed an improperly installed water heater vent and offered to fix it. He takes pride in his work and is committed to doing everything with the best quality possible. Looking at his work, I notice that every pipe is correctly supported, every gromet is properly installed, every seal is neat, the workplace is cleaned up, etc. Zach also took his time to answer several questions regarding maintenance and common problems with my furnace. After attempting to get a call back from multiple companies we found Four Seasons and their super easy scheduling system. Honestly, we were a little skeptical that using such a feature would work out but lo and behold the next morning they stopped by on schedule and on time. Amazing.I was at work but my wife gave me the play by play on what was happening. He was super friendly and prompt, didn't try to up sell my wife and identified the issue quickly. Bad capacitor & fried wires. He made the fix and with all costs it was less than $500 for the fix, repair and inspection. Andy Brosius: These folks are truly quality. Last Nov they did a tricky repair on a 40 year old boiler to keep it limping along a bit longer. They then replaced both boilers last month. They're now doing some follow-up work free of charge, even without knowing whether their install caused the issues.They're courteous, wear masks and enter via the back door (even in deep snow) to keep our high-risk daughter safe, they communicate well, and they're timely. Highly recommended.
