By the Pound: what do users think?
Christian Rinna: Lots of stuff that’s hard to find elsewhere!
Cameron Curtis: A fantastic store with a huge variety of bulk foods at very reasonable pricing. Friendly and helpful staff. All around a great experience.
Kay DejaVu: I came here from Toledo. Friendly service. Found the less popular items I needed.
Brian McClatchey: Nice store with bulk items at ok prices.
Charles Lohr: I buy herbal caffeine-free teas, gummy worms, Napoleon sours, nut goodies, and dry pineapple rounds. Prices are up to 60% less than the grocery store. Repeat customer.
andrew evans: The choose to lose program is everything I was looking for in a work out program. As someone who has already lost some weight on my own, I became bored by the same cardio workouts. The type of exercises Alex challenges us with each class are both physically and mentally engaging. I enjoy the people who workout with him and never feel intimidated to try new things. This will be my fifth session and I've already hit some of my personal goals. Definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to be inspired by fitness again.
steve tabb: Good bulk pound store with reasonable prices. Products range from sweets to cooking ingredients. Friendly staff with great owner who is regularly in the store and well informed on his products.
Peter Tojšl: So many options to choose from, good prices, and really nice employees!
christine stockwell: Look here for hard to find things - bulk spices, teas, grains, flours, sugars, chocolates, candies, nuts, beans. Buy as little as you need. There is the option to provide your own container (have it weighed by the helpful staff before filling). In the last month, I’ve found things I thought for sure I’d have to mail order: black cocoa, buckwheat flour, Kashmiri chilli powder, mustard oil. And 4-5 dark chocolate-dipped amaretto pecans for a snack.
Jack Pilutti: We save SO MUCH MONEY shopping here for spices, nuts, grains etc. Also a great way to cut down on plastic waste.
Maya S: This place is like Willy Wonka's factory but for bulk stores! Such a magical place. In order to properly rave about this place I will break down the reasons why I adore this place:1. The incredible selection of everything: For a relatively small store they have a super vast spice selection which is perfect for our family since we make lots of Korean and Indian food. They have all sorts of grains and legumes and noodles (including Asian varieties!) too and oh the delicious tea and coffee selection! They have lots of liquids bulk goods like maple syrup and vinegars and oils and soy sauce and vanilla extract. I also appreciate how they've got a bunch of imported goods from the United Kingdom like PG Tips and Heinz canned beans. They also have local eggs and cheeses and ice creams and frozen produce. Recently they've got lots of new candies too from M&Ms to salmiakki. They've got it all!2. Freedom in quantity and bulk good receptacle: You can bring your own containers which I really appreciate or use their bags or purchase their beautiful but reasonably priced containers. People also leave clean containers you can use for free too. I'm grateful that By the Pound I can come in to get just a teaspoon of dried sage but also get 4 pounds of green lentils. No pressure to get a while containers worth so you don't have to worry about wasting food or having an awkward bulky container of an herb you use just a teaspoon of then feel bad that you don't want to use more.3. Good hygiene good atmosphere and good people: The store is very clean and organized and they do good quality control to make sure customers don't dirty any of the goods. The store is always playing gentle classical music and has cute antiques decorating the space. Glenn the owner is so sweet and helpful and the other folks working at the store go above and beyond with helping finding things and making your shopping experience superb.I go to By the Pound every week and there's always a new delight to be found. Please check out this Ann Arbor institution with your favorite jars and have a blast!
Isabella W: Great bulk foods store - buy tea, spices, snacks, flours, grains, peas etc. in bulk.
A Bar: Nice spot for tea, candies, nuts, spices. Some soaps like castille, some oils and grains.Area by the door has free empty containers. You must weigh them and label the item ex. Salt 1.99Don't be scared of a high price, it's by the pound so no worries getting a small amount.Would like more soaps and plant seeds.
Frankie Konieczki: Bring in your old clean containers to donate and take some if you forget some. By the Pound is an awesome bulk food store where you can reduce, reuse and recycle. A bonus is they have amazing microwavable indian food the best I have ever had.
Douglas T: The pistachios slap
Leanne Ma: Great variety of grains, beans, spices, baking ingredients, coffees and teas! Everything is priced very reasonably. Staff are always very kind and helpful. Containers for free and for sale in a wide variety. One of my favorite places to go and explore different ingredients.
Lauren Grossman: This is my favorite store in Ann Arbor. I get all of my tea here, as well as my chocolate and herbs. They also have grains, flours, and a variety of dry goods and specialties from around the world.
Jonathan Valdez: Bring your saved jars, spice and herb containers, egg cartons to use in the store. You can also donate your washed jars and containers to them for folks to use. They have an amazing amount of baking goods and rice.Has a decent sized shared parking lot. Right besides Benny’s.
M. Hawk: Excellent bulk shop. Wish they carried more variety in whole grains and super-sad they stopped carrying 7-grain cereal, but it's a fantastic resource for a town of this size. Grains, coffees, pastas, flours, legumes, spices, candy, chocolate, and various dry goods, along with a refrigerated section. Very, very clean, with friendly, non-intrusive staff/owners. I'm so pleased it exists. Every town needs a shop like this. It fills a niche that not even coops fill.
J. Manning: Very cool place that has tons you didn't even know you needed! Service was great. This place is now on my regularly visit list
John Hritz: The best version of this concept. Extensive selection of beans, lentils, rice and other pantry ingredients.

Busch's Fresh Food Market: what do users think?
Tom McKarns: Great to have a quality local owned grocery store chain here! Good produce and nice selections in a smaller store.
Angel Tan: Fish Fry is not good! I had heartburn afterwards, must reused old oil to save money. I eat fish fry regularly and never had heartburn.Terrible! Stay away!
Leann Kuebler: Great grocery store.
Venson Toreja: Get the 4 berry fruit pie. It's $17, but worth it. They caramelize the crust so it's not soggy.
Anthony Young: Michigan made products. Clean and friendly.
Tori Mazur: Got a free sample and great service
Howard Watts: My regular grocery store for many years - a great balance of good quality produce, value and service.
Matt Cantillon: This a higher end local grocery chain with an excellent selection and reasonable prices. Excellent performance during the pandemic.
Laura Wade: The store is clean and the staff I talked to were friendly over all I was happy with them
Alexis Reyes: Has lots of specialty items and great fresh food. Go to Meijer if you're looking for something too niche or specific
Tim Schutz: Too expensive.
Patricia Dowker: Great grocery store
Jim Zemina: Carrie and Castor are always friendly, and say "Hello". They also have a Super-duper Deli with the staff that give great recommendations.
Cynthia Woods (CeCee): Great price on meat at the counter . Knowledgeable butcher very friendly. Wish closer to my location. I left both my phones in bathroom 1/2 way home went back and the service desk had them. Plan on going back today 😃

Elsie Casiano: Excellent.
Jodie Antieau: Lots of different items

Busch's Fresh Food Market: what do users think?
Nicole: The best grocery store around! I don't like to cook for myself so I always see what precooked meals they have available. It's also fun to browse their desserts and cheeses. The staff is always extremely friendly as well. It's always a great experience coming here!
Mehdi Ted Tadayon: So convenient and a bunch of varieties
Susan (Susan): Terrible thought I was receiving a catered tray of fruit and veggies and got this instead. EmbarrassingStore was not organized. No one had paperwork. 2 orders placed and they looked totally different from one day to the other.
Matthew Niedner: This is a great grocery store. It's more upscale than Kroger, but also not a pricey as Plum Market or Whole Foods. They have a very solid collection of all the essentials you want at a supermarket, but it has a smaller feel and some nice higher-end items in the deli and produce areas. The staff are friendly and helpful. Mostly cashiers plus a small self check out lane.
Michelle Kulkoski: Fresh produce, cut up daily. Sushi made on-site. Unique food items throughout the store. Someone always willing to answer your questions. And they have an amazing assortment of wine.
Amy: This is the mid grocery shop here on North side. Kroger, Busch, Plum. They aren’t the cheapest but higher quality in certain items than Kroger. Get your main staples at Kroger, your specialized things here, and fruit at Plum. Their fish fry during Lent is amazing and their daily sushi is decent for price. Their frozen scones are the best!
nader almutairi: The reason I go here is because of the fresh fruits and veggies. otherwise everything else is pricey.
Chuck Loftis: First visit to this location. Impressed. Not so much impressed by two Staff who couldn't direct me to bulk Pepito dispenser, found it on my own.
William Beavers: They have cashiers and good stocking. Pricing is a little high.
Katerina Fomicheva: Love this local store. A little bit of pricey but usually have great deals on local products.
Ca Lew: Good looking meats and vegetables. Clean and nice staff. Not the mass variety of a krogers but they have the majority of my grocery shopping business.
Allison Forest: Busch's is an overall great grocery store. Yes, the prices are a bit more than big chains like Kroger and Trader Joe's but the trade off comes in the excellent environment and customer service. The entire store feels very clean and is well stocked, both in everyday items but also in some more specialty selections. The employees are all very nice and have gone out of their way to help me out, doing things like guiding me directly to where an item is located or starting to scan my basket while I run to grab another item.
G Knott: Update: I came here last year, and was disappointed by the meat and seafood department. However after speaking to the manager, it looks like they have made some serious changes that have improved quality and service. They went from a 1 star review to a 5 star review in just a couple months. Thanks you to the management for listening
Selena B.: This is our local grocery store so I go to it every single week and always find items well-stocked and the people are friendly. The online ordering website could be a little bit cleaner. Some items don't have photos or the search bar doesn't bring up what I'm looking for. But it's always ready on time and they give you a choice on the checkout page of whether or not you are okay with them skipping an item or swapping the item for a similar product.
Rick Carter: Much better customer service than, say, Kroger's, and the check-out lines move quicker. My go-to.
Avin Vijay: Busch's is pretty good for local produce. They are slightly more expensive than Kroger but much cheaper compared to Plum or Whole foods. They do have a pretty good seafood counter amongst the local grocery stores!
James Rees: You're typical neighborhood busch's. Friendly staff. Clean.
Khalid Walton: They often have expired foods out for sale. Pay close attention to the dates. Besides that, it's a nice option for groceries at a reasonable price.
Mike: A typical grocery store. High prices unfortunately.
Lower Michigan: I like this chain it is nice
Arlene C: Today, I must admit I've always had great service. Compared to the changes of how grocery stores provide service I appreciate a LIVE person to greet me. Torrie, is the best! He greets me with a smile and engages in conversation. Unfortunately, I can’t say much about MARY, the store manager. I purchased a couple of LOTTO tickets and had a coupon to use. First off, she didn't greet me as I purchased my tickets. She appeared she didn't have any knowledge of the LOTTO as I asked her I wanted to purchase the BIG game (Powerball). When I handed her my coupon, she couldn't figure out how to enter it into the system. She looked flustered. I asked her if she was going to scan it, thinking that might help and her response was as she turned around and said “do you want to do it yourself?) 🤦🏽‍♀️😫i said no, I thought my suggestion would help, BUT she was rude. After about 7 minutes of standing there, while she was trying to figure out what she was suppose to do, a customer stopped by and wanted to ask her a question. Rather than her acknowledge the poor man, he walked away. Perhaps, Busch’s needs to retrain managers so that they set the example of managing the store. MARY needs to check herself and maybe go back to the being a cashier or stock person in the freezer so she doesn't have to deal with customers.#poorcustomerserviceatBusch’sAnnArbor

Plum Market: what do users think?
jackie mcman: Took away the toaster
Sandy Eyl: a little hard to find the single serving and Deli foods. I hadn't been here since before the COVID pandemic and thought if I parked at the Cafe entrance that I'd be near those items. but there was no way to get past the cashiers to get back there so basically had to walk thru the whole store to find the single chilled bottle of root beer I was looking for. points for selling single servings of Zevia too!
Reginald Elliott: Amazing
TIM BREHMER: Best specialty grocery store out there! Great service and quality products in every department.
Thomas Friedman: One of the best pizzas I ever had
Eddie Smith: Great selection of premium and organic products with best-in-class service and an excellent and modern store facility. We have shopped here about 5 times. Products are definitely priced at a premium, but you can usually find something special that you can't find at other high-end grocery stores. This store is also situated at a great location along Maple Road on the west side of Ann Arbor.
tonja hamilton: My favorite market!
Vijaya Reddy: Went there to get organic berries. They didn't have any.
Tyler Terbush: I’m an instacart worker and have been for 3 years now. I’m a 5 star diamond cart member. I shop in this store 10 times a day. I was just kicked out of self checkout midway through scanning an order by a women manager because, “I don’t want instacart workers going through my self checkout.” There were no other customers checking out at the time so you weren’t busy, plus I don’t work for you guys, I work for instacart, and I’m perfectly fine to go through whatever line I want. Now she is trying to get my account banned on instacart. So thank you, I may lose my job of three years because miss manager “doesn’t like instacart workers in her self checkout”
Linda Brazier: My favorite place for organic foods
Nikolai Belinski: Pricey but has a good selection of novelty health foods and drinks such as Ollypops that I couldn’t find anywhere else.
Mari Rymar: Expensive, especially now with inflation. Beautiful space with tables and chairs you can sit down in and eat the delicious hot and cold foods. Their soups in particular are very good. They have half off bread and other baked goods after 8:30pm. Just walking in will probably take a chunk out of your wallet but very fun, like food Disneyland
Anthony: This place is awesome!
Reg Quinton: If you like Whole Foods you'll love the Plum Market. We went for the fish monger and their beautiful sea bass.
Gravy, Gravy Crockett (King of the food frontier): Extremely helpful staff, fantastic quality food.
Lea Gierucki: So good but so so pricey.
Cris Pap (papc): usually love plum and don’t write reviews, but yesterday i spent $11 on a premade salad that was mostly kale stems and inedible. i threw it away. i would just expect more out of a store as high end as this:(
JD Durden: Expensive but very bright and clean. Extensive deli area, too.
Rudy Palombit: Great music! and decent liquor selection
Atul Raizada: Expensive
Ron: I like the food freshness and the healthy plant section too

Whole Foods Market: what do users think?
Krystalyn Katz-Page: Literally love shopping here and would recommend you grab your groceries here. Yes it’s a little more costly than other shopping locations, however, I must state it’s well worth your buck.-It’s always clean, well-lit, and a great shopping experience.-The hot/cold food is always fresh and nicely stocked.-There is a section for household necessities and body essentials; also nicely stocked.-The servers and cashiers are very helpful and efficient.-Not to mention it’s Amazon return center is very efficient and they have Amazon lockers.
Joshua Polaczyk: Great Whole Foods. Nice staff. Fresh products and a nice spot to return Amazon products!
Joel Lee: Did you know, they donate their extra produce and energy to the Creature Conservatory!? Jean, Awesome contribution.
Eddie Smith: Great Whole Foods store. Good service and great selection. Only criticism is during rush hour this place gets packed and they could use more cashiers, bakery, and deli workers during that time.
John Watts: Whole Foods Market has great healthy foods.
Geekstronomy: Wish they still had the bar
Colleen Johnson: This store is always clean and organized and every single person that works there is friendly and helpful! I ordered my first catering order there and the food presentation looked amazing! Also the store director Larry Austin is the kindest, knowledgeable, and friendly person I have ever met!
Paul Stewart: They have everything organic and the prices are ok, can't complain
nick stauder: Absolutely awful, ordered for delivery and after being 2 hours late contacted me and and told me they just aren't bringing my groceries, but will hold my money for 5 days
Michelle Kulkoski: I'm glad they kept the fish wall and the meat case in place. But all of the changes, and no one can tell me it's because of covid. You took the deli case out. You took the pork counter out. You took the brick oven for pizzas out. The sweets counter for individual cakes and other items, gone. The fruit and vegetables are so close together that I couldn't manage my cart. I probably will be back, but I'll have my husband shop for us and not together.
Marsha: Beautiful store BUT went in for puff pastry - over $11 a box? Outrageous!
Andrew Gill: Loved it so much I decided to make a career out of it!!!
Diana Maria: If you go to buy groceries from this store, be aware they sell a lot of expired meat and products. Read the expiration date on every product you buy.
Andrea Bradley: Amazing food bar and an amazing staff!
Surendra Manjrekar: It is nice with lots of choices.
Mohammed (Mo): The guy who works in the self checkout area is absolutely amazing and very friendly.
Bob Sornson: It's not the old WF experience
Bruce Geffen: It's so close and accessible with just about everything I need or want. Some items I get at locally owned grocery stores because price is cheaper at other places. Whole Foods owned by Amazon... what more is there to say?
Merry Sanches: Ricos pasteles😘
Mari Rymar: Beautiful space with wonderful food, hot and cold
Charles Carlson: Yup, all good, but online shopping has certainly changed the landscape. Too easy to shop multiple places from home at the same time. Buyers market 4 sure. 🤔

Better Health Market & Cafe: what do users think?
Ron Rajda: I really like the selection of healthy breads, soups, teas etc. The selection of frozen meals and ready to go meals is also very good.
Michelle Weller: Enjoyed the selection! A little confusing but staff is helpful
Scott Riedel: Jericha was irritated that we hadn't counted our return cans. Then she couldn't find our membership and said she couldn't help. We decided not to buy the product that we came in for and get it later. Jericha pretty much threw the change into my wife's hand. Some change landed on the scanner and Jericha saw it, no apology.
Jaime Campbell: Extremely rude employees. Not giving them my business again.
Karen Barbu: Good assortment of things
Safiyah Basir: One of the only places in 2022 that does not look up a receipt with their pos system or with debit/credit. The inconveniences this causes is pretty great. I’ll be ordering the items I typically get from this store online from here on.
Jacob Smith: Too expensive and not enough selection
Joanne S: I have been a customer of better health stores since they first opened. I refuse to come to this location ever again. They are very deceptive about coupons. I’ve been told many times that they no longer except coupons or more recently that they only except 15% 1st of the year when other stores still except 20%. They say it’s corporate that tells them not give coupons but then why would corporate send them to me by mail? It just makes them look untrustworthy. I appreciate the other stores which I still go to being consistent and truthful.
Nicole: Wonderful selection of vegan items + friendly staff.
ξriη ξlaiηε Ꭶ •—YouΘɴlyLɨveΘɴce—•: Beat small market variety in town.
Kim Tran: Amazing customer service. Very knowledgeable staff. Offered help the moment I came in. One staff saw me reading through every single label of vitamin c, and kindly came over to explain everything in detail and recommendations for what I needed. Went above and beyond! Had smoothies here on a few occasions during lunch time. Prefer to order ahead to pick up, was delicious, convenient.
Danielle Primeau: I contracted the obvious “ick” aka covid-19. One of my friends called the store and talked to a guy named “Gary”who was super helpful and so kind. He set up a walk out pick up order since I couldn’t go in the store due to covid. It went flawlessly and I got what I needed to treat the symptoms I’m having. 10/10 for customer service and just an overall amazing experience. Thanks for being there for the community.
Sarah Meeker: Everyone who works here is incredibly kind and caring!
Assad Khan: I stopped by today, I had a great expierience. Melissa helped me find everything. I take several supplements and they are priced competitively compared to other health food stores. They also have Raw juice available made with all Organic products. I will definetly being going back, everyone was very helpfull and friendly.
Abony Washington: The staff here is so helpful. They know about all of the products
al3826: Great place to find much needed supplements and hard to find items. Staff is so friendly and incredibly helpful. 😁
A Malonson: always loved this store! good health store for healthy people. they got great stuff on sale and they got free kombucha samples!
Jason Comstock: As a loyal Whole Foods patron, I was reluctant to give this place a shot, but it was well worth it! You can't beat their ample protein bar selection, and I love their paleo/sugar-free bakery options in the cafe. I've also found that the friendly and knowledgeable staff go above and beyond in helping you find the best deals/discounts around the store (and there are a ton of discounts to be had). In a competitive grocery store market, Better Health does a great job of setting themselves apart. Big fan!
Linda Claire Groshans: A beautifully kept store and friendly employees.
Ethan Cortez: Crappy customer service 💩 .And this cashier wouldn’t give me the guess internet password.said she only makes $9.25 hr and that I should talk to Management for password,I WANT HER FIRED NOW !!!!!!
Mike McDowell: Nice natural selection

Trader Joe's: what do users think?
Harold Kaplowitz: I love the Asian employee “Tyler” — seeing him makes my day, and he is by far my #1 Trader Joe’s crush!
Roger Henriquez: I went looking for flowers and graduation cards and found exactly what I was looking for. They were conveniently located right after the entry. Quick stop when you are looking for them.
Mark Baker: Very friendly and helpful staff assisted us in finding gluten-free items. The store is well stocked, well lit and a pleasant environment.
Everett Palmer: Great selection, great people, great prices.... In my book, that's a five!
Jeffrey Smith: Great service
Nickol Beason: Great atmosphere clean and everyone is very
Chris Biddle: They keep cancelling my favorite foods. The produce is not good quality. But I'm done here. Everything I have ever really liked here has been discontinued. What's the point of shopping here when what you like will eventually be gone. I'm out. I'm only coming back until they discontinue my favorite crackers.
nader almutairi: Love their products a bit pricey but worth for the quality
Jamie Lee: Took my boyfriend to TJ's for his first time today, and he loved it so much that he bought* me flowers on the way out. He's welcome.*I picked out a bouquet, and the cashier told me, "They're on the house for you today."
李岳宗: 應有盡有
Chris Swigart: Clean, a little busy, but hey... it's TJ. Fresh flowers for a decent price. Love the Madrigal cheese, especially for$6.99 /lb! Wish there was one closer !
Dan Negrin: staff is friendly and helpful. i never regret shopping here and always find something new and great to enjoy.
Jordan Gillo: Always a great experience. This week I was in tears in the parking lot (just had one of those days). I collected myself, went in, grabbed my stuff, and checked out in Maddie’s line. She was amazing. She was so sweet, overheard I was having a bad day and gave me the plant I was going to impulsively buy myself to try and make my day better. Which then made me cry again, but happy kind. I went back to hug her, embarrassing tears steaming down my face, and she was so sweet. Just the moment I needed, to know there are good people in the world. It made my whole week ❤️
Abdulla A: It's Trader Joe's! Pretty laid back experience and lots of good finds especially in the freezer section. I love the flower options, affordable and pretty
Craig Pfeifer: Great products, love the store size, makes for easy in and out. Parking lot is a hassle, staff are wonderful. Busy during the school year, dead when school is out. Sunday morning is the perfect time to go!
Victor Narezo: Love Trader Joes. So many interesting foods can be found here. Prices are great too!
Bruce Geffen: It's Trader Joe's! What more could you want?
Sean P: Good stuff. Good Service.
Calisa Reid: They really care about their customers and their products are excellent.
Marilynn Voss: Love the array of unique & special food items.
Barry Chapman: Good selection of fresh foods - nice employees
