Partners in Internal Medicine: what do users think?
Cynthia Morgan: This is a busy practice- if your waiting longer than you want to there is a reason. Every health care worker/physician here are professionals who are skilled and adept at their job.
Alex Hall: I have been seeing Dr. Elissa Gaies for a few years now and plan to keep coming back. I got lucky and just found the practice because it was nearby when I was searching for a new PCP to get a physical. Dr. Gaies is very kind and empathetic. I have never had to wait very long or felt rushed out of the room.
Gopal Shrestha: Got extraordinary help and support to get a "prior authorization" approved.
Rebecca Roughton: EDIT: This witch of a woman. I said that I wanted to get tested for Celiac, since my sister has it and weight issues is a symptom nd Dr. Hashemian agreed. I figured that my blood panel did check it and just showed no results when I didn't hear that it came back positive. Come winter, I find a new doctor and get tested for Celiac and, lo and behold, I have it! Celiac is a very serious autoimmune disease that requires immediate lifestyle changes or else you can end up with cancers, osteoporosis, and other autoimmune diseases. My weight issues started improving! I went back and looked at the blood panel Dr. Hashemian ran, NEVER tested for it, despite me asking! If I stayed with this incompetent doctor that doesn't listen to their patients, I would've gotten incredibly sick!Original post:Don't bother. The doctors are obviously rushed. What's worse is the terrible bedside manners by Dr. Hashemian. I've gained a significant amount of weight over the last 4 months which has never happened to me before and with no major lifestyle changes. I have two sisters with thyroid problems that had somewhat similar things happen. The doctor insisted I haven't gained any weight because the scale at their office only registered a half pound difference over the last 1 month. I pointed out that these appointments were at different times of the day, I'm wearing different clothes, they put me on two different scales, and I don't think I drank as much water. I have been weighing myself daily with all other factors the same because I KNEW no doctor would take me seriously otherwise since I'm still a healthy weight. My clothes don't fit anymore.Hashemian absolutely wouldn't listen to me, insisted I haven't gained anything, that I'm making things up and shouldn't worry because "you're still a normal weight even if you actually gained weight". Said I might have elevated cortisol, but she wouldn't test for it, because "it's in your head anyways" Then she told me that I wasn't "telling the truth".Just another old school doctor who doesn't bother listening to her patients and won't do any preemptive searches despite having a family history.
K M Vaughan: Dr. Pamela Shore is awesome. She listens and recommends treatment. She never orders a treatment without your approval. This is rare. My health care is my responsibility. Dr Shore is my most trusted medical advisor. Thanks.
Cellest Peterson: Super great office! Everyone’s so kind and I would recommend Dr. Gaies to anyone. Love being here!
Jacqueline Pringle: I tried to call to get a prescription and even requested it online. No one answered or got back to me. I tried to call today to have my inhaler, a life threatening prescription refilled. The person very rudely told me that they would not transfer me to the on call physician to get my prescription refilled. I am very disappointed with the service here would not recommend.
Mrs Green: What an impressive practice. I feel so fortunate to be Dr. Elissa Gaies patient. I never wait She comes in exam immediately. She listens, is very kind and a really thoughtful physician. She’s just the best.
Daniela B: Saw Dr. Shore for a couple years. She’s fine, just tends to refer out for any problem and very busy so a little rushed through appointments. Every problem I’ve brought to her in person she told me she could handle and to see a specialist, until I call for a referral and then she says she can handle it. (I think she just forgot about when I asked her I’m person and she told me to make an appointment with someone else- I waited too long to call back.) The staff is nice, but overwhelmed. Know they’ll only call once and if for some reason can’t leave a voicemail won’t call again. (I’ve never had a problem with my voicemail, so it’s weird they couldn’t leave a message, but I should have called to follow up sooner.) I’ve been lucky enough to have some amazing docs back home who really seemed to know their stuff, and she’s not really one of them, but she’s fine if you’re young and healthy. The staff has always been incredibly nice and helpful though.
gina bestneylon@yahoo.com: Great experience from the first phone call.Super helpful, warm and professional, yet friendly.
Cheryl Miller: My husband sees Dr Paul, he is THE BEST!! We could not say anything even remotely negative about him or Carrie, his nurse in the Ann Arbor office.
Mike Nicklowitz: I have been going to this practice for many years. They are very professional and have kept me in good health.
Chuck Jacoby: Also been seeing Dr. O for 25 years. They are great, have done a consistently good job and kept up with technology. When Dr O wasn't available his partners have always taken great care of me too.
Alan Benard: This office will miss code your bill, refuse to listen to you, and then put you in collections. Avoid.
George B: Going there for the past 25 (?) years.See Dr. OWait is kept to a minimum and their staff (medical and office) is GREAT!The same goes for the over-the-phone consultations with their nurses - always a good experience!I hope I'll be around them, for another 25 yrs!

Emmaus Health Partners: what do users think?
Drew Pikstein: Honestly is upsets me how this practice is being attacked in the negative reviews regarding the fact that they are Catholic. Did you ever wonder why they are called Emmaus? Did you notice the crucifixes on the wall while you sat in the waiting room?Yes they are a Catholic practice, just like St. Joseph Mercy Hospital is a Catholic Hospital. They also display crucifixes on the walls and have a chapel. The level of care at Emmaus is outstanding.I finally found an excellent doctor who takes time with me and cares about me as an individual. My health is her sole concern. Thank you Dr. Castillo for always taking such good care of me. And thank you Emmaus Health for always being there when I need you.
Anahita Mojahed: This is a clinic best suited for people who identify as conservative Catholic. If you do not identify as that then your health needs will not be met here. I had no idea about this (and wish I had read these reviews) prior to making an appointment. The doctor I met with was nice, but she refused to prescribe me birth control and I was made very uncomfortable by the shear about of imagery of the crucifix and the Pope that was around the office. I honestly had no idea it was even legal for health care providers to deny you of your basic health care needs.
Paul Walkowski: We started taking our grandchildren to Dr Silva G. when they were 6 & 8 years old and their mother was dying from cancer. It was a great relief to find a counselor who was a strong Christian and would not try to “cure” our children of religion, particularly because one of them was momentarily angry with God. Dr carefully worked through the grieving process with them individually, together, and in family groups. When one child chose to act out repeatedly in school, Dr Silva went to the school monthly with a parent and grandparents to observe, listen, develop a plan, and refine it until the child could relax and let go of the hurt.I was often pleasantly surprised when the doctor redirected our symptoms based concerns to root-cause based healing activities. Progress continues with peaks, valleys, and plateaus because the patients are real people; as they mature they become more verbal and are able to discuss things they didn’t have words for initially. We are grateful for Dr. Silvas persistence and and great breadth of insight.
mariam breed: Thorough, respectful, prompt, complete, ethical care.
Elisabeth Struve: I had a potentially urgent medical issue arise. The office fit me in to the doctors busy schedule so I could have a same day appointment. After going to the ER, the doctor called me and followed up the next day. Super amazing office!
Sheila Anderson: I saw Dr.Waclawik today as a new patient and came away feeling much better than when I went in.He listened carefully and addressed each of my concerns with an honest, professional approach. He is caring and knowledgeable speaking in terms I understand and agree with.I left with answers, a treatment plan, and a follow up to track my progression.I would totally recommend him. The staff is super nice too!
Jane: I have had procedures performed and prescriptions encouraged by other doctors that in my opinion were harmful. I really appreciate the approach of the Doctors and Nurses at Emmaus Health. I trust them.
Meghan Taylor: I had to call Dr. ______after hours on Labor Day weekend. I’ve been a relatively low-key patient for at least a year due to my husband being in CRNA school with the typical up-tick being a new mom. He was very nice on the phone and took my call seriously. However, the second time I called he was chewing… it sounded to be like Chex cereal. I’d recommend Cinnamon Toast Crunch:) At the end of the call right before he hung up he told me he’d be billing my insurance for the call…. I’m well aware insurance is billed for after-hour calls. That’s why I try not to make them. If the office wants to generously not charge that is extremely kind, but I never expect it. If you want to make sure the patient knows that they’re going to be billed for after-hour calls it should be in the automated phone answering system during after hours. The end of a call with a patient should be subjective in nature and involve the words “I hope you feel better soon,” -bedside manner-, not “this is going to cost you” when I already know it is.
A Taylor: Waited in the office 45 minutes for my appointment before walking out. No update, apologies, or explanation for why there was such a delay. The office is religious (catholic), fine but me. But they do not prescribe birth control, and do not advertise that they are a religious practice. Sneaky, sneaky.
Chelsea Piner: If you are a Catholic practice as you were obligated to inform me during my first appointment perhaps you should make that clear before people waste their time. I wanted healthcare not your opinion and restriction on the planning of my family. The front desk informed me that while they themselves will not prescribe birth control they can refer you to someone that does. I am well aware how to get birth control so that is not my issue. I didn't even want a prescription as I just had a baby and am nursing but to say the least I found it very inappropriate and unethical. The Dr. was rude and condescending when I declined his offer of "spiritual guidance" that took me by complete surprise. His attitude was dismissive of my concerns about my care. Perhaps it was his obvious "little man" complex.
TK W: Great Catholic values abd6good doctors but the level of medical care/philosophy is woefully lacking. I tend not to visit a doctor's office unless it's serious, yet each time I have gone, the doctors at Emmaus have talked me down from recieving prescription medicine...it's like they don't believe in modern medicine.... Twice now, I ended up in ER following a visit to Emmaus Health where I recieved nothing but assurances and a pat on the back. I'm committed to my Catholic faith and the Church but not to BAD medicine!
Sarah Rouan: I saw Dr. Steve Hickner for a consult and was blown away by his attention to detail. He spent an hour and a half with me, patiently answering every single question and reviewing my extensive medical history. He did an ultrasound and pelvic exam with great gentleness and respect, explaining every step of the process and what he saw on the ultrasound. The office staff was wonderful and put me at ease during a very stressful time for me. The office space is lovely and very peaceful. I’ve scheduled endometriosis surgery with him in April and have total faith in his ability. I recommend him to anyone who is struggling with suspected or diagnosed endometriosis.
Liz Muller: The doctors at Emmaus are incredibly professional, capable, and helpful. I've felt very well cared for over the years, and would not hesitate to recommend any doctor in their practice. In particular, I've worked with Dr. Chavey and Dr. Hickner closely, and have received expert and compassionate care. I've also brought my kids to Emmaus on several occasions to different practitioners, and they've all been fantastic. The practice got me into the clinic same day when I came down with the flu, and Dr. Castillo saved my life :) with some incredibly helpful medications to get me over the worst of it. On a more serious note, when I had an emergency abroad, Dr. Chavey took the time to call me and ensure I was totally secure in my care, and further took the time to connect me to his colleague for an additional consult. He didn't have to do that; he's just a great doctor. Highly recommend the practice!
Awanti Sambarey: Dr. Jennifer Castillo is one of the best doctors I have ever been to - she is extremely thorough, patient and compassionate, and does not dismiss any concerns, no matter how trivial they may seem. The staff at Emmaus are friendly and the scheduling of appointments is very fast and easy. Definitely recommend Emmaus Health!
Colette Simkins: Dr Castillo and staff are very attentive, affirming and thorough. I've never been to a dr before where I havent felt like a "number" the Dr and staff at Emmaus Health treated me as a person taking the time necessary to treat me♡
Abdulla Maiah: Great doctors! Excellent service & care!
Roxanna Youngs: Always helpful when I call there. Referral to there are quickly processed and scheduled.
trish Schaefer: This practice is the most patient friendly medical clinic in Michigan. Dr Chavey is patient and kind and 100 per cent dedicated to you as a patient. Dr Castillo freely gives of her time when an emergency and love her knowledge. I feel blessed to call this my doctors office.
L Firn: Emmaus Health has excellent doctors and their staff are very friendly.
cv houston: I went to Dr. Castillo for the first time today, she took more than an hour getting to know me and my medical history; she's so thorough and so personable. The staff there are very professional and wonderful and accommodating. I was able to get an new patient appointment within 1-2 week, which is really ideal. Highly recommend this place.

University Health Service, University of Michigan: what do users think?
Jason Barbier: This is the most unprofessional and unsympathetic staff I’ve ever encountered in my life. Highly recommend anyone seeking medicinal attention anywhere else but here.
Junzhe Cao: Bad attitude and terrible service. An old woman in the front desk is mean and rude.
Sreechandana Anumolu: I've had to frequent UHS for many things over the last 5 years and was always met with the most helpful and knowledgeable staff and providers. I even went to UHS to get second opinions after my primary care physician couldn't give me the time of day for my concerns. Thank you for taking care of me throughout college and I hope everyone else has a great experience with them.
Majid Aalizadeh: The staff are either depressed here or they hate their job :)) the lady who was making the appointment over the phone was almost screaming on me aggressively when I asked her to give me an appointment for afternoon instead of morning, since I was too ill to get out of the bed early. It is fine, I hope she feels mentally better.
Tammy Elkins: I have been going to UHS for years, my PCP, Jasmine Parvaz, MD Phd. is simply amazing. I am able to get an appointment quickly for urgent needs. She is always there responding to my portal messages quickly with excellent advice. I really can't imagine going any place else for my medical care.
mikayla peterson: I had a terrible experience at UHS and won’t be returning. An older male staff member made an extremely inappropriate comment about my body. As a 19 year old female, I was very uncomfortable. Aside from this, the staff seemed very unorganized and unprofessional. The only positive interaction I had was with a nurse.
Anna Bruce: If you are a student at UMich, DO NOT go see Dr. Julia Andrea Bemer unless you’d like to be told “Nothing is wrong with you. Other people have it worse” after describing in detail how you have been consistently sick for months with 0 explanation.
Katharine Daniels: Was told I couldn’t schedule an appointment over the phone during their posted open hours (no reason given) and would have to call back another day. Really weird; do not recommend based on that.
Elaina Ryan: I was just there for a 15 minute appointment, and the staff was so rude that I just walked out. I will not deal with the blatant disrespect. I followed the directions that the receptionist gave me exactly, and once I got there was rudely yelled at to leave because I was in the wrong spot. I went back downstairs, and the receptionist repeatedly told me to go to the wrong spot.
My Seppo: Editing my review to say the five stars are down to one. This must’ve changed all the staff. I’ve never met more rude and unhelpful staff. I recommend staying home and being sick there. You’ll just get more sick here anyway. Honestly you’d be better off laying outside and dying slowly than seeking care here. Go else where.GREAT experience here. I’ve been to more than average university health services bc of my job and this is by far the best performing one. I’ll also note that the receptionist I spoke to was super kind and considerate.
Renly Hou: I visited the eye clinic for contact lenses. The doctor knew my vision coverage but still prescribed me precision1 which is not an in-network contact lens. I have to pay $90 for fitting and $32 for just 3-month contact lenses. I don't know why the doctor didn't prescribe me an in-network contact lens which is free of all charges.
Alex Bamford: Went in to hopefully get antibiotics for my cough and congestion. Waited an hour for the doctor who proceeded to ask me if she thought this was related to my cancer that I had 6 years ago. Worst medical experience I have ever had…and I have had cancer.
Ava Ben-David: Please do not come here. First of all, it took me two days to make an appointment for a small ailment. Then I finally get to UHS and the people are just so rude it’s insane. I am seen by a NP, she was nice. I was prescribed something and they told me to wait twenty minutes for the pharmacy to open. So I waited and then they tell me they don’t take my insurance (they had insurance information the whole time just so you know). So then I went to CVS. Absolutely terrible experience and no respect for people’s time.
Alysse Burzycki: University of Michigan is not the place to go for women's heath issues.
Zach Spam: I went in there to get a feel about what was wrong with me. I was so sick I had lost 12 lbs over the course of a week, and had severe muscle aches and couldn’t walk more than a 1/4 mile without needing to take a break. Among many other things. I had taken at home tests and all came back negative for COVID. But a PCR test came back positive. And instead of offering anything to try to help me feel better I was told to go home and basically cope. God awful. Ran extremely poorly. Go literally anywhere else for medical attention.
Monkey Dee: The misdiagnosis of a chronic wound gave me a scar. But comparing to the UHS of my graduate school which only gives flu shots and provides Covid tests, UM UHS at least has real medical staff.
Sam Gil: Appointment required. I've got a concussion. Sorry I didn't see this coming but I really shouldn't be waiting for an appointment.
Megan Threats: I had a really great experience with the travel immunization clinic and the laboratory. The RN Michelle was very nice, and did a great job explaining everything I would need to know concerning my vaccinations and health/wellness while traveling abroad. The nurse who drew my blood listened to me and drew from a location on my body I am most comfortable with. I received my lab results with 24 hours. Very pleased with my experience at UHS.
Yongtong Lao: I would say doctors are caring but not helpful. In the last 5 years, I have been misdiagnosed a few times and prescribed the wrong antibiotics. I had a chronic infection that is lasting months and I am sent to different doctors in UHS but none of them treated my problem. Also I keep having my appointment messed up, for example, I booked an appointment at 2pm and will receive a confirmation that the appointment is at 11am. (worse case, I book one tomorrow and the appointment turns out to be in 2 months). I hope university of michigan starts to care about the wellbeing of a student.
Bernardo Modenesi: These guys do a miracle supporting the whole UofM community with medical services at zero or very low cost to the students, relatively quickly. I've been using their services for 6 years, and they are hardworking and kind. I honestly do not understand why their rating is so low, but probably due to spoiled undergrads who still aren't aware of how the health system in the US is really rough (to say the least) and don't realize what an awesome service UHS provides.
Rex Fung: They have the worst scheduling system imaginable. If you manage to survive till an appointment, it's actually pretty decent.

IHA - Central Administrative Offices: what do users think?
John Doe: I wish there was a place for a zero star worst group of people that I've ever dealt with wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to use anything IHA related
sarah mcenhill: This place cares about making money, not CARING for patients.
sharon parsch: The front office staff seems to care about their jobs. The nursing staff have a desire to do the work. There may be some doctors who actually practice medicine and care about their patients but most just push pills, and not well. I have had to repeatedly call for refills to be sent to the pharmacy and then they don't send all of them. The pharmacy has noticed this and have suggested I seek medical care elsewhere too. They haven't sent refills for heart or asthma medication or not all the refills needed on multiple occasions. Appointments are difficult to get and there is frequent turnover of medical staff.
Jerome Blue: IHA consistently gives me professional, caring service in a wide variety of medical areas. Thank you, IHA!
ken Sd: They sadistically administer pain by putting P C protocols above patient care.
Gina Ellsworth: They are terrible!! Call to refill prescriptions and are dumb that it needs refilled, Don’t have the correct dates on file!! All I can say is wow
Catherine Kasten: IHA basically doesn't answer their phone. I had a video appt at 12:10 today, and was suppose to get the video link to join. I waited on hold and got the information at 12:26. At 12:40, they call me and said that because I was LATE, the meeting was cancelled. This has happened before... basically, they don't answer the phone. I've waited over an hour , and on one occasion had to drive over to the office to make an appointment.I feel like a fool for even staying with them. Run, change practices!
Shawn Marie: My son use to see the pediatrics office in Brighton, MI . He was dismissed from the practice because we were unable to pay a bill, which was then included in a chapter 7 BK. However he is banned from any IHA owned facility until he is 18 years old. I also tried to pay the bill so he could get unbanned, but was told nothing they can do. I tried to call the administrative offices, without an answer or call back. The only reason i gave two stars instead of one, was the doctor was very nice.
MarvinRuth Dunlap: My father for over 2 years asked for another MRI, he began losing the use of his right arm 2 years post stroke. Dr. Peterson in Hamburg, MI refused. Kept sending him for PT....which did not help and they kept discharging him. FINALLY (I am a health care professional) I came up from St. Louis as he was deteriorating and took him to the Neurologist - HE HAS BULBAR ALS! IHA does not care about its patients or their care, I agree as above..ONLY ABOUT THE $. THIS IS NEGLIGENT CARE at best!
Ying Ye: Easily the worst billing department! After several phone calls trying to resolve a billing problem on their end, I was told that it will be sent to the correct department and be handled. What they actually did was sending it to the debt collector, totally dishonest and irresponsible.
Tina Roberts: I understand everyone is busy and maybe having a bad day. Fran at central scheduling may need a refresher on how to leave her problems where they belong and treat people with kindness. St Joe's is a caring environment poor Fran with her lack of manners has so much to learn
Egan O'Callaghan: I called because they don't take my insurance so they sent me to billing. Billing sent me to someone else giving me options to press. I chose the right option and it sent me to billing who sent me back to those options again. It was a never ending loop. I'll switch to Henry Ford....
Kimberly Wampler Samsel: Since they have taken over our local family practice there have been nothing but mistakes...I have been at that practice for 18 years and am really disappointed with the lack of respect and care for patients.
Willo Fuhr: We tried for over one half hour to pay a bill and every time I gave the account number I was told it was not a valid account number. I finally got a real person who said they have had nothing but trouble with the system. My husband is going to make sure that if they use your company for pathology he will change practices. The good thing about this whole experience wa the lady who answered the phone and helped me. I see why you get such poor reviews and I certainly will make sure that our doctor knows.
Aloys Metty: My Doctor said I needed the new Shringritz shot for shingles so I had them give me the shots. Now IHA is billing me $414. They say that Medicare only pays a pharmacy for this, not IHA so I have to pay $414 for a shot that was free at any drug store. They knew this before they gave me the shot. IHA says I signed a form but this is the same form everyone signs when you visit them. IHA is a thief and completely dishonest. Stay as far away from as you can. Use only Dr.’s that are NOT Affiliated with IHA
Zion Babb: I would advise throwing away the whole call center employees and hire some that KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND TALKING ABOUT. Tried making an appointment for my newborn, and they set the appointment the day after WE ASKED at the WRONG location with the WRONG doctor. Now u got to be real burnt out on drugs or something to mess ALL 3 things up like that.DO BETTER IHA CC(Btw I don’t write reviews, so you could imagine my frustration.)
Kay Maxey: I needed to get pathology reports dating back to 1994. I was expecting a difficult experience but was pleasantly surprised to have the gentleman who helped me, Marcus, find them promptly and FAX them to my doctor in New Jersey. He was beyond helpful, efficient and professional!
Janice Mooneyham: I received a letter about past due bill of $96. when I called in question they said it was from 2017.I went in with my daughter in-law while pregnant in 2018 and ask to get the whooping cough shot. I told them I no longer had insurance and was paying cash. I paid $40.60 and went home. Then I got this bill in the mail. So I called back about it, I was told I still owe $60 for my shot. These people need to get it together. You bill someone for a bill from 2017 and can’t explain why it took 2 yrs for this to appear in there system and that what I paid the day of the shot was from past due bill. So done with IHA!
Roseanne Gyhra: I wish I’d seen reviews here sooner. I’ve had so many issues with IHA. The most painful is that after we moved to Michigan I did not realize my husband was not having the yearly PSA blood test he always had In Nebraska. He had been told they no longer do PSA over 75. When I found out, I flipped out and demanded one for him and now we are fighting aggressive prostate cancer. If only it would have been caught earlier it wouldn’t have left the capsule and his outcome and treatment would have been so much better. When I confronted the doctor he said he was happy my husband had some one like me to look out for him. And when I said well thanks for nothing, he chuckled. I feel I was treated as a crazy wife and there was no concern or compassion. Our charts are wrong. Said I was a former cigar smoker and had aortic valve replacement which I had not. I was told if my husband didn’t do the Medicare wellness check which is basically a mini mental exam, Medicare would pay for his services. Not true. Twice I scheduled him for a COMPLETE EXAM which our secondary would pay for even though Medicare doesn’t and neither time did he get one. No one from the office will call me back. I’m beyond frustrated. Patients are not at all treated as individuals but by statistics.
Melissa Cunningham: During what IHA's Dr. Ziff claimed would be a routine hysterectomy, he burned my ureteral tube on the left side of my kidney. I woke up in excruciating pain and, on day two, with my kidney being completely blocked, he came into my room and told me he thought he had accidentally cauterized my tube. Testing confirmed this and I was rushed into a second surgery to insert a ureteral stent. The stent had to be kept in for five weeks and was extremely painful. I was kept on pain meds that entire time. During that time, I had read that being in that level of pain with a stent could mean it was improperly placed. When I mentioned this to Dr. Ziff and his IHA colleague who inserted the stent, Dr. Gimenez, I was completely ignored. Later that month, I started having severe incontinence. Again, when I told them about my concerns that the stent was not healing the burned tube, I was blown off. Then, I went to have the stent removed. About an hour after Dr. Gimenez removed the stent, I realized I had a hole in my ureteral tube when I started gushing urine uncontrollably. I called Dr. Gimenez, panicked about what that meant, and again was blown off. Get this, she literally told me to wait and see if it cleared up overnight. She had been rude during every single interaction I had with her and that was the last straw. I ended up rushing myself to the ER at Michigan Medicine and was assigned new doctors there. I was diagnosed with a vaginal fistula. I went to Dr. Ziff because he came highly recommended by my IHA OBGYN. I used to think the world of Dr. Vicari, but she never once called me during all this time to check in on me, even knowing what was going on. In my medical research to try to learn about how to cope with a fistula, I learned that this type of surgical error (ureteral tube injury) during hysterectomy is rare in the US (less than 1%), though it happens more frequently in third world countries where doctors are not as well trained. In one article, it was called a venal sin because it can easily be avoided if a surgeon knows what they are doing. In half of the cases when this occurs, the patients die from sepsis. Now I had this fistula. That meant I’d either have to undergo another surgery where they placed a urine tube and bag out of my back or try to live with the total incontinence. I was so petrified to get another surgery at that point; I chose to try to cope with it. My new urology surgeon said my insides were such a mess and so inflamed, and we had to wait several months before he could cut away the damaged part of my tube and reinsert it into my bladder. He also said the first stent had been improperly placed. The reinsertion surgery seven months after the medical error was as painful as the kidney blockage/injury I’d had after the surgery with Dr. Ziff. The pain was off the charts, despite an internal pain port and IV meds. I woke up with three tubes sticking out of me and literally felt like there was a chance I might not make it. I was inpatient for five days both times and on medical leave for more than four months total that year, some of which caused me to lose pay. I incurred debt from all of the expenses - medical supplies, copays and loss of pay. Meanwhile, IHA just opened their brand new, shiny building on the west side. Never once have they reached out to me to offer any kind of compensation. I’m still, more than two years later, recovering from what happened to me during that surgery. This has been a total nightmare! I wish I had never gone to Dr. Ziff or Dr. Gimenez and I would highly recommend patients think twice before scheduling surgery with either of them!
Brandie Briggs: IHA is a joke! All staff I have encountered is rude. IHA Urology at St. Joe is the worse, the receptionist are rude and the nurse we had to deal with is LAZY. We needed a piror authorization for a medication and for three weeks I was told " the rn is working on it right now"! After calling the insurance company, we found out they never called! We called the manager of the office and reported it, so the nurse submitted the form incorrectly another two weeks gone by, we called back and the nurse said "we were denied, your insurance never pays for this medication"! I called the insurance company and guess what, the nurse LIED! The form was incorrect and returned to the office and instead of fixing it, she LIED to us. It's now been over a month since we were last seen, still no meds. We are going somewhere else. And don't get me started on IHA oncology staff or IHA Milan family medicine. IHA only cares about the money not the service.

Ann Arbor Family Care: what do users think?
Linda Opaleski: Dr. Edlemann is compassionate, knowledgeable, and simply excellent. His staff are kind and efficient.
Edward Opaleski: Been going to Dr. Edelmann for many years. Best care ever. I highly recommend his practice.
Bob Kisiel: Are family has been going to Dr Edelman for over 25 years and received excellent care.
Sharon Lewis: I have been seeing Dr. Edelmann for over 15 years. I take my children to this office as well and I have been very happy with his services. He is always attentive and able to answer any questions I have. The office staff is friendly and helpful. Even after I moved half an hour away, I still make the drive to keep him as my doctor.
Kyle Codlin: I've had good experiences all around with the office.
Derek Huffman: Peter is great and there’s hardly ever a wait. Also sometimes there’s a dog there which is awesome!
kathy braunlich: I have been going here for years, but since Mark Meister left, I am not happy with my visits. I love Sandy, also! Don't care for the Docs to much. No going there anymore
Joseph DeStio: The worst dentistry Extremely unprofessional and rude.Never never recommend
Julie Walter: As a new patient I had a bad experience before I even saw the DR. My appt was for 11am, they asked if I could come at 10:45 to fill out paperwork. Due to construction in my neighborhood, I arrived at 10:53. They told me I could not be seen because I was late. Seriously? I will be searching for another doctor in Ann Arbor...
David Hammond: I highly recommend seeing Mark Meister here. Have been his patient since 1995 and he has always provided me with excellent, thoughtful care. Much appreciated!
Elaine Hunt: Been going here for years. I see Dr Karl & Dr Pete. Awesome Doctors. Thanks for helping me thru my health care issues. Love the Staff to Sandy always makes my day. I definetly recommend these guys if you prefer being a patient over a number.
Lisa Dolinger: Love this practice! The staff is very knowledgeable, I don't hesitate scheduling with one of the PA's (Physician Assistants)they are very competent They try their best to get you in on the same day, especially if you are calling for a sick appointment!
Victor Munoz: I have been a patient of this family care clinic for over 20 years. Throughout those years I have seen several doctors, all of whom have been very professional and caring. The last few years I have seen Doctor Edelman and Mark Meister both are great and I would highly recommend them. I would definitely recommend Sandy the nurse who does the blood draws, she is the best. Unfortunately I just had an unpleasant phone conversation with one of the office staff. I called to very nicely complain about a mistake they had made with my prescription (NOTHING CRITICAL, but still a mistake, which I personal;ly had to solve. The person I spoke with was rude, told me not to complain to her, that she doesn't have anything to do with that and to call the manager, I very nicely said that I had solved the problem and that i did not need to talk to anyone else; she again with an angry tone told me to call the manager with my complaint.
Alex Hood: I wish I could give this 5 stars for Peter, the doctor I've seen several times, he goes above and beyond for his patients and is definitely a physician i would recommend. The women behind the phones are certainly a force to be reckoned with though. I prefer not to name people directly with a negative review since instances like this are typically fueled by emotion but I will say that the billing supervisor is harsh, rude and uncaring. I do not enjoy being interrupted and slammed on hold during any phone call to a company I am paying for services to. I believe that everyone gets a free pass for a bad day but I have talked to this woman more than once and every interaction we have is super aggressive and unpleasant. I have tried to make a complaint a few times but she refuses to provide her name and her coworkers will not provide it either, thankfully a nurse helped me and apologized profusely for her behavior and according to her, this woman is horrid to many people besides me. I have made a formal complaint through my insurance but I felt it necessary to let people know that if they deal with her, they aren't alone and I am willing to help anyone make a complaint as well. I mostly hope that someone in charge reads this and attempts to keep their employees in line. I am allowed to ask questions politely without getting attacked and being treated poorly since I apparently was disturbing their job by calling the office for the pricing details of my last visit. rant over.

Adult Medicine & Pediatrics at East Ann Arbor Health and Geriatrics Center: what do users think?
Hayley Trotter: All of the residents and attendings here are wonderful! I really enjoyed taking my three kids (5, 3, and 5 months) here because of the communication, non-judgmental environment, and overall ease of medical care.
