Null Null: I'd like to say thank you to gift of life for sorting out my previous issue. I had gotten a previous letter/slip for some other thing with the gift of life logo and jumped to conclusions about a separate letter as I don't donate often but lately it has been towards several losses in the family. I also may not have liked being asked hours after a passing about donations but I understand there isn't much time in these situations. A small light hearted suggestion is to update your waiting list music on the phone, it's unsettling. Thank you for handling my grievances well. It's been a difficult year.

Kenna: I’m 16 years old and just got my graduated drivers license. When the lady asked me if I wanted to be an organ donor I said yes, but I had no idea what it entailed. I asked her if there was a way to specify what I could donate, and she said ‘yes, there’s a website for it’. She didn’t know the same so I searched for it to no avail. I never got the website name and I want to specify what can be donated and what can’t. I don’t want to be a donor anymore because no one is helping me through this process.Today I called to change my donation status and it’s a ‘2-step’ process, but it’s way too confusing and that’s a lot more than 2 steps. I’ve been scared out of donating due to how confusing and terrifying this system is. It’s keeping me on edge like if I go into the hospital no one will attempt to help me because it’s all for the money. One person dying benefits 5 or so other people, but it’s my body. I’m young, and I’d like to live without this fear in my back pocket on my license.

Kelly Vander Schuur: My sister past away in Sept 2020. She was a donor and Gift of Life took over her care after she was pronounced "Brain Dead". She was transported from Holland, MI to the Ann Arbor area. A few months after her passing, I started to receive medical bills from the Ann Arbor area. My wife has called GOL several times over the last 5 months and each time was told that the bills would be taken care. In the past month we have started to get Collection Notices. I called myself this past Monday 5/17/21 and was transferred 3 times before I got a voice mailbox. I left a message and have not received a call as of today Friday May 21, 2021. We are trying to close my Sister's Probate case so that her 21 YO daughter can sign up for college classes. I have been writing this while I was on hold and was finally transferred to the Accounting dept. Once again, I received a voice mailbox and left a message. We'll see if they call this time. I never right reviews but this is to the point of getting a lawyer involved. Does anyone know a good Pro Bono attorney who could get GOL to stop traumatizing the family of a deceased love one?
