Jaclyn: Beautiful, stunning cakes. We received so many compliments for our sons’ one year birthday cake and matching smash cake. I will absolutely go here for all of my cake needs. The “off the shelf” cake was beautiful for this occasion— with flowers and gold splatter!

They also put my cats on the cake and truly captured their personalities. The cake and desserts also taste great. You can’t go wrong. Heather was also a pleasure to work with. She’s super sweet and organized!
Cory P: Me and my fiancée had flown in for a couple days to take care of some wedding things for our wedding next year. They don’t do tasting appointments on Fridays so we decided to do a take home tasting they offer. We came in on the Friday to pick it up and was told by a worker they didn’t think they had any take home tastings today which I showed the email they sent confirming we scheduled a tasting pickup between 10 and 4. While they didn’t explicitly say they gave our tasting to someone else, the explanation we received was someone who was supposed to have an appointment on Saturday came in early and now they had an opening for Saturday now so we guess maybe they got ours, regardless they didn’t have the tasting we ordered. They did offer to make a take home for Saturday if we came back that day, but after leaving and discussing we decided we had lost some trust in them and should go else where. I gave them a 2 star because at least they were willing to refund my 50 dollar deposit.

Camille Ash: Delicious cake and fantastic overall experience!Had a Tiffany themed cake created for my 40th birthday along with some mini cupcakes. I read the FAQ's ahead of time and the planning went exactly as indicated. I submitted a request for a custom cake consultation (about a month before my event) and we set up a virtual meeting to talk through what I wanted/needed/expectations going forward. 3 Tier chocolate cake with Salted Caramel Frosting. So delicious! The top two tiers were styrofoam since I was only having a few friends over (covid times) but still wanted the look of a 3 tiered cake. The mini cupcakes were vanilla with strawberry. So light and delicious. The cakes were definitely the hit of my mini party and I loved that I was able to handle everything virtually and easily ranging from the consultation, payment, delivery, etc. I will absolutely use Sweet Heather Anne going forward for my cake needs.

When we got engaged, I knew as soon as I saw Sweet Heather Anne's cakes that they were the only cake baker we could possibly have for our wedding. Their cakes are personal, incredibly beautiful, and unbelievably delicious. They are also amazing to work with! We were supposed to get married in May, 2020 but had to reschedule our wedding due to the pandemic. Sweet Heather Anne was super accommodating throughout this whole process and even made us a complimentary mini-cake on our original wedding date! I cannot wait for the full-size cake in October!!!

izzyd98: Rubina really knows what she’s doing! We ordered a cake for my cousin’s graduation from MSU Nursing School. It was stunning and delicious too! She only used fondant for the decorations but the white coating was all buttercream. The raspberry white chocolate marble cake with cream cheese frosting was such a crowd pleaser, everyone went back for seconds, thirds, and took some home. Will definitely be back for future events!

Everyone hated them. We tried to go direct to owner and give her a chance to rectify issue if there had been some mistake. She instead called my wife a liar and refused to take any responsibility or offer corrective solutions.
James Hanke: Probably the worst desert I’ve ever had. Called ahead a week in advance to pick up some of the regular cupcakes. Person told me to leave them out three hours to get to temperature. No comments on the fact that the cake portion would be hard as a hockey puck. Garbage product. $30 down the drain.
Sierra Iverson: Macaroons were dry and old. Wants hundreds of dollars for a block M graduation cake when you can buy a $30 cake mold for it at target. Scam artists.

Mary Norris: Pre-pandemic, we attempted to buy macrons and were turned away because the cash we had would pay for 3 when they would only sell 12. They would not work with us to even sell one for the price of 3. Wrote that off as an anomaly. Later ordered a birthday cake that was quite good. Today, tried to make a large cupcake purchase and were dismissed as though we were insignificant customers. No willingness to help us get what we needed. Cake we bought was good, but pricey. Wouldn't Exotic Bakeries or Zingerman's be more willing to cater to all customers rather than snobbily only attend to those who have a lot of money to spend for every purchase? We'll update review with that answer. Will recommend niece and fellow graduates choose Zingerman's or Exotic or some different option for their celebrations for sure. Update: Zingerman's cake pales in quality. Rubina's is far better.
Manzi MFM: The cake I bought, coffee and chocolate was average at best. Here’s the thing if it had a redeeming factor such as flavorful, smooth icing or the cake being moist and delicious I would have easily given it a 4 or 5 stars in this case neither were particularly good. I’ve had better cakes elsewhere that were less expensive. Charging $30 for a dry cake with thick, flavorless icing is disappointing.
Meghan Dailey: Rubina made the cake for our wedding reception in May, and we had a very pleasant experience! We had originally planned for a 2021 reception but unfortunately needed to postpone to 2022, and Rubina was very flexible and easy to work with to reschedule. She was able to put together a takeout cake testing, and the portions were extremely generous and delicious for a reasonable price.On the day of our reception, she delivered to downtown Detroit, and she even provided a cake stand that fit with our theme. We were not too picky with the decorations on our cake and asked her to create what she thought would be best, and the final result was amazing!Rubina wasn't as quick to reply in email as some of our other wedding vendors, but we were overall very pleased with our experience with her!

I was testing so that I could select a flavor and order a wedding cake for my son’s upcoming wedding. Unfortunately, all of the cupcakes were bland, tasteless, dry, and left a gooey taste in the mouth.I also ordered a Canadian Butter Tart which tasted okay. Their chocolate macaroon was amazing, however - not too sweet, dense with lots of coconut. I ordered a MI Cherry Chicken salad sandwich which was quite good. Two stars for the sandwich and chocolate macaroon. I wouldn’t recommend ordering cake or cupcakes.

Everything was delicious and barely made it through the day. I have celiac and am super sensitive to egg and dairy so it was awesome to find so many options. We are from out of town but visit the are frequently and we can’t wait to come back!

Ashlyn Lawson: Every time I come into Big City Small World I feel like I'm a child entering my grandparents house for Thanksgiving - warm, invited, and ready to eat some amazing food. Big City's sweet treats are the best around, so many gluten free and vegan options (and *good* gluten free and vegan options, not having to settle for less than to fit your dietary preferences). Their espresso is amazing and buttery, and their lunch options are always filling. But above all, the owner (Scott?) always puts a smile on your face. I've only ever met one other person who puts so much heart and soul into their business. It's an honor to be able to visit Big City Small World as often as I do, thank you for all of the great food and great times!

The Pazyamors: Very creative and delicious offerings. Very cognizant of food and health safety. A favorite is the farm loaf-perfect crust with soft inside, great chew-versatile for sandwiches, toast or just tearing away pieces to snack on or as a side to a meal.. Other baked goods enjoyed include cupcakes, cakes, bagels, pastries and pies. All ingredients chosen thoughtfully for the best flavor, supporting local farms and artisans.

Cheesecake bar was not what was expected- didn’t finish it. Place was busy. There is a bench seat with 3 sm tables and a few chairs and a small bar against the the front window. Quality wasn’t worth the money in our opinion. Staff was friendly and helpful.

This is the third time I've walked in at noon on a Wednesday to get cupcakes for my afternoon team meeting, and the staff doesn't acknowledge you or say, " I'll be there." They continued doing other tasks while I stood there for five minutes, and once again, I walked out and when to Cinnaholic.
Maddy K.: I come here often, but I was so disappointed today by the bad hygiene. I ordered a bagel, and the man who toasted my bagel was literally cleaning/sweeping the floor and without washing his hands or changing his gloves after cleaning, he touched my bagel with the same gloves and put cream cheese on it. I was so lost for words that I came out without saying anything, but I had to throw out the bagel. I’ve ordered bagels or bagel sammies often here (as well as cupcakes and donuts), but never paid that close attention to the kitchen until today. Please train the employees properly about hygiene practices and not touching anything dirty while preparing food. I probably won’t be returning anytime soon after this experience.

David Herzig: Incredible establishment that fulfilled a very large order of 250+ items with ease for an event. Very easy to work with, and all attendees of the event had great things to say about the assortment of desserts that were sent! The cake/pie shooters and mini cupcakes were two personal favorites of mine.
Elizabeth Kirwan: Frankly it’s so-so. But of an off taste to their cupcakes, at least chocolate ones. They have some seasonal flavors, but don’t think they hit the mark. Kinda just a sugary mash-up. Would have given 3 stars but earned another because of super friendly front of the house staff.

Laura Robberts: My daughter and daughter-in-law both have Celiac's disease. So, no gluten. We have ordered the Gluten-free Chocolate Swiss Roll twice now. It is SO delicious and moist. People would not know that it is gluten-free! Amber is so great about getting the cakes to us really quickly. Love the cake, love the bakery!! Thank you, Amber.
Clinton Garrett: We ordered 18 cupcakes (17 red velvet and 1 gluten free) with cream cheese frosting. The cupcakes were very average. They weren’t very moist, fairly bland, and the frosting was barely sweet at all. Also, the sizes varied quite a bit. These were for our 8 year old’s birthday party and after fighting for the “big cupcakes“ none of the kids ate the whole thing and most of them only took a bite or two.I give 3 stars because I always prefer to support local small businesses and maybe we just had a one-off so-so experience. We’ll order from them again and will be back to update the review if the next experience is better.
gerry heiden: I had a family member pass away unexpectedly and needed cannolis for the funeral. With less than a 24 hour notice she made us three dozen. Great customer service awesome small business.Couldn’t be happier!

Amber is very, very easy to communicate with and makes sure to listen to any requests you have. The peanut butter cupcakes have a special place in my heart but I honestly LOVE anything that comes out of this bakery.

Nina Del Duco: Amazing bakery!! Enchanted Oven made our cake for our wedding and cupcakes. The cake was gorgeous, exactly what we wanted, and the cupcakes were stunning. The flavors were so creative and unique and the taste of the cake and cupcakes were fresh and natural. All the guests raved about the cupcakes, we literally did not have a cupcake or slice of cake leftover at the end of the night. They were so pleasant to work, highly highly recommend this bakery!

K H: Highly recommend! I called looking for someone to make sugar decorated cookies (some gluten free) for my daughter's bridal shower pretty last minute and Amber made it happen. The guests said the gluten free was one of the best sugar cookie they ever ate. Due to how much our guest liked the cookies I asked Enchanted Oven to make a cutting cake for the wedding and 250 cupcakes for our guests. The cake was beautiful and exactly what my daughter wanted. The cupcakes were a mixture of flavors and again very good. We also had gluten/vegan cupcakes and the guests again raved how delicious they were. I was very pleased and happy with how everything turned out. The Lemon cupcake is my favorite. The guests who ate the gluten/vegan cupcakes were especially happy to have this option and they said how delicious they were. Thank you again for making the bridal shower and wedding so special!

Matthew Czarnecki: Had the best chocolate chip muffins of my short 41 year old life! They were fresh, baked perfectly and tasted amazing! The packaging and presentation were professional as well. Will definitely be placing another order very soon!**Update**Ordered banana and raspberry white chocolate breads. The banana bread was one of the best I've ever had! The flavor and texture were one of a kind! The white chocolate raspberry bread was a great combination! Add a little butter to both and you won't regret it!

Sandra Fernando: I ordered 2 dozen muffins. They are the standard 2 inch muffins. I think they tasted fine, nothing spectacular. They weren't the warmest people to talk to on the phone. When they delivered the muffins, they rang my doorbell three times at 7:00 AM, which I thought was a bit unnecessary (my baby was still asleep but not after that). My experience with their customer service was not the greatest which is why I gave them three stars and, I probably will not order from them again.
Tiffany Lancrest: Ahhhazing pie. The crust is… chef’s kiss. I ordered the chicken pot pie and a pecan pie and it was soooo good. Every single person at dinner commented on how good they were. Ordering was very easy and delivery was a snap; the delivery person wore a mask and was very polite. Gold star all around.
Kristin Rochon: I ordered 2 dozen cupcakes as a treat for my teen son’s birthday. Ordering was super easy and convenient on their website. Delivery was prompt on the day scheduled. And best of all they were gorgeous, moist and delicious. They were a big hit with the family.

Anessa Lauber: Ordered my Thanksgiving pies for this year from MLSC instead of the normal place, because I would much rather support small/local businesses. Could have been happier with the whole process!! Was messaged super quick after ordering to setup delivery (placed my order late at night, on a weekend), they were delivered early the day that we setup, presentation was super cute and they never even saw Thanksgiving because they were so good! LOL! We will definitely be ordering again, and you should too!

Silicone Clone: I ordered the Raspberry White Chocolate loaf, because why wouldn't you!? It was amazing!I highly suggest people give them a try. They deliver all over Ann Arbor and brought it right to my workplace, which was super convenient!
Dave Sullivan: These pies are LOADED with fruit! Some pies I've purchased at the stores look a little light on the goods....these do not disappoint. Crust was perfect and the bottom was the perfect combination of flakey and gooey. The owner was fantastic and you can tell she takes a lot of pride in these pies.

Kate Williams: Maple Sugar Leaf is the place to find great baked goods. The French Apple pie was amazing. The bottom crust was so flaky not mushy or soft. The apples were tender but crisp. The owner, Maggie, was so nice and helpful. You can tell she is passionate about her baked goods. She told us about her FB and Instagram pages and we will definitely be ordering holiday pies and other goodies.
