Krystun Hamilton: The worst! Car was booked last minute so it was a 30 minute drive from the airport (my problem not theirs) but it was booked through Expedia and was supposed to be ready to go. It was not AT ALL! The required an extra deposit and payments. Coincidentally, titleholder deposit is the same as the smoke cleaning fee…(ok fine I get that) BUT I get in the car and can immediately tell the person before smoked. The window shield was caked in nicotine. The whole car was sticky and could tell it’s been smoked in! Of course, we cleaned it out before returning it, just so we can get the deposit. They didn’t walk around the car or anything so I wasn’t getting blamed for what I didn’t do. But the location was closed when the car was dropped off and had to drop the keys in the box. We were on our way to the airport and I realized I left my phone in the car. Called corporate and they offered no help whatsoever. I live across the country and need my phone for work and everything. I have called the location all day today and nobody will answer. Corporate says they have no way to contact them either, which makes no sense, you can’t call or email a location?! Every other location answers and this is the only one that won’t. All we are trying to do is see if a family member can pick it up. Absolutely no compassion in this company (corporate mostly), I will never even think to book with Hertz ever again. It was bad enough that I was supposed to have an SUV and only got a tiny Corolla. But to have locations that can’t be called and a corporation that shows no compassion is horrible.

JustHappened TV: Car was a little dirty but everything went smooth I did everything online and had all the necessary things that they ask to rent a vehicle.

michael Mathews: I'm a rewards member i paid for everything over the phone except the deposit they tried to run my card it was locked. I go up there all of a sudden they can't run my card again and can't use my specific card but it was fine when yall took the 226 now I have to wait 7-10 business days for a refund but the gag is the Manger Nicholas rosette said book again thru the app and u will be fine so pay again. For another rental and use the card yall say you can't use

Carlita Taylor: I’m currently in a rental because my vehicle was stolen. I am unhappy with the vehicle Hertz had me in. The windshield wipers all 3 are awful. The panel where you adjust your seat is detached from the seat. Now the warning light for the auto start is on. I’m trying to contact the office and they do not answer the phone. This is my fourth time renting from them thru my insurance and it will be my last. How can you not answer the phone at a place of business?

My O: The customer service at this location has become poor. I have spent approximately $10,000 on rentals in the last year at the Ferndale, Mi. location. This location never recommends any promotions, the cleanliness of the cars are not consistent, never receive the requested car, and, this staff rarely answers the phone. There will be a problem with your reservation via the app and you will be overcharged unjustly. It doesn't matter if you pay now or later. Do not place a credit card on file because it will be charged randomly. This location will not do anything to accommodate you and the manager Nicholas will be unavailable. If you must deal with this location, keep a close eye on your credit card. This staff doesn't believe in the customer is always right and does nothing to resolve your issues.

S: I’ve rented here over the last few years and have had nothing but good experiences. I was just there recently and Sydney, was professional and friendly. They gave me a new GMC Terrain that was very clean. Surprised to hear the negative reviews. It is a small office and sometimes you have to wait in line there.

Nichelle McFarlin: This has to be the most ghetto car rental I’ve dealt with. First of all the car they gave me was dirty, the exterior was not washed and the interior had dust and some sort of white stuff stuck to the seat also the car had a bunch of scratches on it and the bumper looked like it was hit or damaged before. Only reason I took the car was because I had things to do and was running behind. I called every day for a replacement because I was unhappy with the car but was always told they would call me when something was available, I NEVER received a call. Then today I called to ask about extending the rental and was put on hold for 30 minutes. I hung up and called back and the girl I spoke to had an attitude like I was bothering her. The amount of money I’m paying for this old 2017 car, poor customer service, and bad attitudes does not sit well with me.Update: Today I called for an updated amount on what will be charged to my credit card since I was lied to and told I could change the billing method after I turned in the car, I’VE BEEN ON HOLD FOR OVER AN HOUR!!! How is this acceptable?

KAnnette: Dropped my car off at collision shop my insurance company had me go here. Will not go back. I drive a luxury SUV. All they could offer for rent was a Chevy Spark. Small enough for my 11 year old grandson to drive. Asked for bigger car told there's an upcharge so no way unless I paid $5-$15 additional dollars a day. My insurance company is paying isn't it best to make the customer happy? Not at this Hertz I voiced my complaint upon return so sorry manager wasn't there. The young lady who received the car back heard the brunt of my frustration. It wasn't her fault she was sweet. While there, new customer walks in rents his car told he is getting a FREE upgrade and got a water immediately. I was not offered water there or any extras. I guess Hertz treats local customers different? Will not go back there ever. Told them Enterprise is much more accommodating down the street.
