La Dolce Vita: what do users think?
Vince Houle: This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, but the new ownership and apparently new management is terrible! We had a reservation for 4:45 and I had to leave by 6:30 and the manager suggested I do a takeout when our meal had that gotten there at 6:15. When my friends asked if they would calm them dessert because of the terrible service the manager said no, and suggested that they are free to leave! The manager was awful, and did nothing to accommodate, and was rude, and made the experience awful! We will never go back to La Dolce Vita which is sad because it used to be one of our favorite restaurants. Also, the plans they have to make it bigger and to open it to the street side to see out more is going to ruin the intimacy of the place. I would suggest going somewhere else for dinner.
traci romo: Amazing dining experience! The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and polite. This is truly a hidden gem in the city of Detroit
Cori Carr: Well ... the food LOOKED incredibly good and I really wanted to eat it, but unfortunately, it never came once we ordered it. After waiting for an hour and a half and watching everyone seated around us get served, pay, and leave, we left without having gotten our entrees. The appetizers were great, though. Calamari, steak tips and sweet & spicy shrimp.I was really disappointed because I had heard such good things about the food. The bussers were very attentive and my water glass was always full. The server, not so much. We had a large-ish party (two tables, one of 8 and one of 4), and we're not the easiest people in the world to wait on, I'll full on admit that. But an upscale restaurant like this should be equipped to deal with someone who asks for no sauce on their fish. After having placed our orders for entrees 30 minutes prior, we asked if they'd be out soon. We were told they had a large party of 50 and were slammed. I worked in the restaurant industry for years - that doesn't just happen. A party of 50 is something you plan way in advance, including extra staff for the night and/or limiting the menu selections of what the party can choose. We had made our reservation about 2 weeks in advance - so, they should have limited their reservations for the night or brought in extra staff. I'm not so sure I even buy this excuse - I didn't see any large parties there, and literally every other table surrounding ours got their food with no problems. So we left at 9:00 PM without having eaten - and there was actually another couple in the parking lot doing the exact same thing - leaving because their food never came.I hate to have to give it one star, but I won't be going back. Maybe if you have two people, it would be worth it, but definitely not for groups of more than 4, even if you do have a reservation.
Anthony Wilson: This was my first visit to this little hidden gem. I must say everything was amazing. From the food to the service. It was extremely busy during my visit but the staff didn’t let it get to them. The manager DAndre came to our table and introduced hisself giving it an extra touch. We will for sure be coming back.
Brendan B: Wonderful Place! Can’t go wrong with the amazing Gnocchi and Lobster Ravioli. Even got the wonderful chance to meet the manager dre who was checking on all the tables! 10/10 we would dine again!

Annee Really: I was last here before Covid-19 so was really looking forward to returning. Unfortunately my experience was such I will not be returning. Saturday night dinner with friends where the drinks and appetizers were best part. Lasagna was "meh" branzino was overcooked although the caper sauce was tasty. Risotto was overly salty but the worst part was that the Creme Brule was not bruled! The sugar topping was soft as if the custard was delivered straight out of the fridge and never torched. The service was slow like most places these days but delivery of cold bread 15 min apart from the oil and plates is not slow, it's not thinking. Silver was removed with appetizer plates and not replaced. Again, not thinking .Still on the menu is the make at your table Ceasar salad but we were told that it was not available.. Comon Man! Get it together or this place will be nothing but memories.
camille martin: This is a great place for a brunch date. Very cute and intimate. Valet parking is available. Street parking is also available. A bar for drinks. Waitstaff is pleasant.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Rocky W: My appetite was utterly destroyed after my husband and I were singled out as a couple for mandatory gratuity. We received our bill and were told that it was up to the waiter to charge gratuity fee on the bill. Please be aware that you may be discriminated against as an African-American for visiting this restaurant.
Rosanna Hinds: Great atmosphere, delicious authentic Italian food, friendly staff, and great service. This is a hidden jewelry in the city of Detroit 💖 Do I recommend? Absolutely 💯 We left out very happy 😊

Michael Tyson: LaDolce Vita has always been a 5 in my book but last evening stopping in for a drink and appetizer at the bar was a different experience.Simple ask calamari/ bread and a drink. The bar person/ server was quick with the drinks. The calamari was undercooked. I like mine a little crispy and less chewy! But the killer was the bread which we were told was being prepared arrived after finishing my appetizer and it was cold. So it was just a matter of bringing the bread and not blaming it on the kitchen. Our server was less than enthusiastic with her job that evening and we felt her frustration! Maybe she was overworked and underpaid or maybe she just needs a new job. See her expression in my pic.!Regardless her service was POOR!Parking is Valet and professional! We gave the valet guy $20 for a tip he saiid thank you but I had to ask him for change-$10.He assumed we were giving him a $20 tip. My suggestion ask the car owner politely how much change back and not assume it’s all yours! All in all a 1/5 evening but this is not the norm. Head outside to their sexy patio for dinner or a brunch. Great atmosphere! Reservations are a MUST HAVE! Unless you want my bar experience!I highly recommend this establishment for fine dinning!
Venus MasonTheus: My husband and I celebrated our anniversary there. The moment we walked into the restaurant, we were heartily welcomed by "Antonio." We were well attended to from start to finish.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Antipasto Italiano, Tiramisu Amaretto …More

Lexi: Never even been there but was going to go there for a date until I saw there overly extreme rules. Is this a school or a restaurant? Looks like they would be measuring my dress if I came lmao weird.

Aryeh Primus: Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
John Jester: This is possibly my favorite Detroit restaurant, which is saying quite a bit with all of the delicious and amazing places in the city. But the food is incredible with Italian and Mexican cuisine that chef Norberto makes feel both authentic and fresh. with individual recipes of both food types that are as authentic as if you went to your Noona's or your Abuelita's house. As well as fusions that are creative and delicious. The service is absolutely impeccable as well. Very kind and attentive but not overbearing or intrusive, with several of the higher up staff taking absolute interest in the quality of the service as well as the quality of the food. Our server juan was fantastic, He helped me make my daughter's birthday dinner amazing, and I had given him no prior warning so his helpfulness was absolutely unexpected but so appreciated . And this was with a retirement party and a engagement celebration going on in the same area we were in and he still made it incredibly special for her. This is a place where people come to make each other happy .....I could probably write an entire review on just the turkey leg in molé, or the gnocchi..... But if you follow any of my advice it is to please stop reading this now and go try the food at this place.Vegetarian options: The entire menu is sorted by the type of components in the meal from vegetarian to different types of meat. The staff are very knowledgeable about all of the individual dishes so you will almost never encounter a question that they can't immediately answer at your table. They do have a large selection of vegetarian options as well as vegetarian options that are prepared without meat, sauces or possibly harder to detect meat such as stock or bullion that may not be listed on the menu.Kid-friendliness: There is not a person on the planet. These people are not friendly too, they have a large outdoor patio area that is covered by a roof which makes for kid friendly areas as well as tables that allow you to have space.Parking: They have a large fenced parking lot in the back that is very secure, and the parking enters directly to the back of the building. The only issue that is presented is that the alley to find the parking is a little bit difficult to see when coming from the neighborhood rather than off of the main boulevard. There are large signs that indicate where it is as well as street parking that is available on two of the sides of the building. Upwards of 50 spots, as well as street parking for up to 30 cars within a 1 minute walk of the buildingWheelchair accessibility: The parking lot behind the building has no step access into the building as well as no step access to the bathrooms, there is an exterior patio that most of the seating is on. On that is a solid tiled floor with no restrictions. Save for a few vertical posts It is quite easily traversible by anyone with ambulatory issues

Erin Sees: Have been here many times and loved everything about it but our last visit was just not it. Our server was training two young ladies so we understood the longer than usual wait for drinks and food but we were one of two tables at the restaurant on a Tuesday and had to ask for things multiple times and still never got them. Coffee was left cold and empty many times. Food was cold before we could even get a bite. Very disappointing visit this last time. Hopefully when we try again, it'll be back to its normal amazing-ness!
Gilbert Kleiff: Out of the way for those living in the suburbs but well worth the visit.Delicious food and superb service.A trip back to new Detroit is a treat.
Luisa Schumacher: Enchiladas de mole Poblano! Beautiful patio environment in the warmer months, elegant interior for less favorable weather. Professional team members. Food is consistently excellent. Bis de Pasta is unreal deliciousness. Fine dining establishment all the way--- white tablecloths and red roses!
R A: Service was terrible. Our waitress dropped our food off and never came back. We waited for our bill after finishing eating (still no waitress, but she was around just never came over) just shy of 20 minutes. Poor personality and attitude. Never apologized. Will not be returning. Had to wave down maybe the manager, not sure who he was to get our bill. There were only 3 small tables with patrons outside. No patrons inside.Very disappointed 😞
Carolina Centlivre: El Barzon has become a nice elegant over price restaurant. The service is fast and staff is friendly and courteous. I ordered tamarindo Margarita $16 and lasagna $28, i didn’t know it came a la cart. It had a Mexican spice taste i didn’t expect. A couple of years ago it came with a salad. Many change I didn’t expect.
Briana Hoye: Have been here a couple times now and the food and staff has been great! Our waiters and waitresses have been very friendly and our food is always great! My only complaint would be that the service can be a little slow. We had a group of 12 and ordered some bottles of wine for the table. It took about 45 mins before our two waitresses took our food order. Once the food was ordered, it came out fairly quickly! Overall, recommend this place but be aware of possible slower service.
Jeff Smolen: Dined here with the wife's coworkers. The Mexican /Italian menu is a bit discordant, but all the food was fantastic. I had the Spaghetti with shrimp, and the rest of the group had Chicken enchiladas. No one was disappointed.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Miriam Souaid: Great food selection and friendly staff. Reasonably priced.
Timothy May: Had a birthday dinner with friends, the restaurant was poorly lite making reading the menu very difficult. The server was professional but not too attentive. The food was served only warm.Food: 4/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Erik Saunders: All three courses were simply delectable.... matched only by their uniqueness and expert service... certainly a hidden jewel among fine dining offerings in the metro area...bar noneFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot …More
Dennis Cipriano: Great time.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Holly Bailey: Add this place to your list if you like something new! What an amazing hidden gem! A restaurant that serves Italian food and Mexican food. Our server Alex was amazing. He was truly a professional. We had great drinks. My chicken marsala was perfect. A lady next to us said her mole dish was better than one she had in Europe. My husband had the fish and enjoyed it.The atmosphere is truly fun and unique. I think this restaurant would be good for all sorts of occasions. There was a family having a 70th birthday party. There were couples on dates. There were families and friends. There's an inside and an outside. Parking is in the rear. Don't let the neighborhood distract you from this great restaurant.
Paul Reitemeier: Very noisy all night due to many large parties. Food was superb, service excruciatingly slow, but very friendly. They simply need more staff.Food: 5/5|Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More
Laura Malizia: Took the whole family here to celebrate my husband's bday & my son's gf's bday, and the food was all delicious & service was impeccable. They even brought out 2 delicious deserts with Sparklers on top and put in front of my husband & son's gf while everyone sang Happy birthday to the both of them. They really went the extra mile to make them feel special~ I highly recommend coming here. It's a lil pricey, but worth it.
Sami M.: Went for a special “Wine Dinner” with set courses and wine pairings. We love Caymus which was the wine feature. Food was good. Soufflé was definitely not a soufflé, it was just a melted puddle on the plate but the homemade pasta was delicious. Beef Wellington as the main course, which was good although the pastry was soggy. Not the James Beard experience we expected but we’d go again.
Maeva Le Colas: The service was great. So sorry, I didn't remember their names but there were two servers working together and they did a fantastic job taking care of our big group. They were also very patient with us. Food was delicious; decent prices for an upscale restaurant. Lots of food choices and very accommodating to allergies (and babies)! Thanks for having us!Vegetarian options: My baby niece is allergic to dairy and eggs, so they made her a plate of food she could eat!Kid-friendliness: High chairs, very patientParking: There is a sign by the restaurant for parking, it is in the back of the restaurant -- narrow driveway but otherwise easy to navigate

La Noria Wood-Fired Bistro: what do users think?
Elizabeth West: Horrible people. No value for other people's time or money. The products are generally good. Some really big misses, but for the most part, good food. Easy to make. Nothing mind blowing but solid family fare. The deliveries? Ridiculous. You pick a time. This means nada. You get pestered with calls to message back if you can do early delivery. If you resist this you get deliveries way past your delivery window.Had an order for today scheduled between 3-6. That changed to 11-7. It's now 8:30 and nada. Of course, customer service is long closed.Save your money. They suck.
Sameer Aljalham: 10 star restaurant
Ross Parpart: Dinner took a long time but this seemed due to Mother's Day. We would go again. Was not a negative experience.Very good foodDietary restrictions: Not too many gluten free options.
Leniya Leonard: Great Menu options. Please don't ask them to split a check... apparently that's a trigger word.Service started out excellent, then dwindled, but not all servers, as most of them were great throughout the evening. The food was very flavorful, and the restaurant was veey accommodating for last-minute groups. Our party enjoyed their meals and cocktails. Unfortunately, I didn't take pics, but everything was plated well. Pasta should have been served with a spoon as well, but with experience, they will learn. Highly recommend for groups who want different types of food. Parking was convenient as well.
Cheril Lin Abeel: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Lorraine Williams: 16 of my family was served last evening, by a energized, spirited and concerning staff. Linen table ware, appetizer the grilled watermelon, agrula, balsamic vinegar and blue cheese. Sea bass with artichoke and cherry tomatoes. Delicious food and fun. Thank you so much for celebrating my niece's birthday 🎂. Mom and dad were there.
Mike G.: Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere.
George Strimpel: A beautiful atmosphere with fantastic food. Our group met here for lunch - I was pleasantly surprised by the Mexican/Italian options, had a hard time deciding but in the end - Was very pleased with my selection. Would Recommend you put this on your list of must try!
Emery Palazzolo: Great food and service!
Gregory Williams: La Noria is one of our favorite spots in Detroit. The fusion of both Italian and Mexican inspired appetizer and entre menu options are very solid and they use some of the freshest ingredients that we can come across in the area. This is highly recommended as a sit down dinner spot the pricing is not the cheapest but we have always got the value for the dollar both in portion size and quality. The atmosphere is very quite and allows for conversations. The service is professional and timely.
owen Podoll: Edgar is the man
Max Garbarino: Great food, Service was good, this place is worth the visit.Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
beauty Elite: Worst experience ever. The staff was rude, took 40 mins before they even acknowledged us and seemed as though we were a bother.
Jessica Fisher: Horrible experience. It took 40 minutes for us to be helped and when we complained they said they thought we were helped but never asked once. From there it just got worse. I am going to contact the owner.
Des Docherty: Service is great. Margaritas and guacamole were very good, the mains all tasted very similarly not bad but not great, good tiramisu.
Ana Amoles: Their mole pizza and watermelon margaritas very good
Michael Schultz: Nice place with an interesting combined Mexican & Italian menu.
Paul Lantow (Tall Paul): Fantastic food and a friendly staff.
Zaire Daniels: Beautiful brick interior with great mix of Mexican and Italian food
