Kevin Metro (Metro): Had a fantastic time at the tea brunch with my wife. The fare was quite reasonable for what we received and our waiter was fantastic. The savory scone was by far the best part and interestingly they said that it was new.

Jasmine Irani: The Whitney Mansion is a beautiful property with a lot of history. I visited the Ghost Bar on the 3rd floor and ordered the "Witching Hour" drink. It was supposed to be layered tableside, however, the mixologist looked at me from behind the bar (as though I didn't know) and made the drink at the bar. Also, the staff encourages the exploration of the mansion and the area around it (horse stables, garden, exterior of mansion, etc.). But while observing the exterior of the mansion for it's architecture, I was told to wait around in the garden at the front as though I was being suspicious. I didn't like being treated like that.

Crystal Marie: I thoroughly enjoyed the tea service at the Whitney. The staff was amazing, and I got rave reviews on my hat selection (tea time.always requires a hat, lol). The tea menu was delicious and just enough bites to accompany the tea and mimosa. YES! You heard right tea AND mimosa! We drank tea as my girlfriend and I spilled some tea too! Will definitely be returning. I wish they still did their brunch on Sundays.

Nancy Vadasz: Very disappointed in the food and service. The beef in beef Wellington was cook very good but the pastry was very doughy, the vegetables were quite raw. The dessert was dried yellow cake with ganache on top. As I looked around I saw many plates left behind with this dessert only half eaten.The server bought out dishes before we were finished with the plate at hand. The table was messy with crumbs and no service to clean was attempted.Needless to say, we will not be returning!

I had a date here earlier in the year & recently came back with him as my boyfriend.From the red carpet - to being escorted in by a friendly worker - this restaurant has become one of my favorite places to dine in. You're not only paying for quality food, but an intimate atmosphere and top notch service.I've gotten to glimpse the gardens but haven't been to the ghost bar [yet.]I'm not in the habit of taking photos of my food but best believe it looked good, tasted even better, and I rarely eat meat.I love it here.

Abram Banman: Service was good but the food was hit or miss. We ordered many appetizers and some nice wine. The Brussel sprouts were not good at all, my wife didn’t enjoy her fish, but my steak was perfectly cooked and delicious.

The orders for our table completely missed the timing mark as none of the plates came out together, one was given to another table, one was severely overcooked and one was undercooked, the promised dessert for the meal that was given away never came to fruition, they forgot to bring out an appetizer...I am sure this place has earned their high and glowing reviews but they also earned this one. Not sure I will decide to ever go back but I can check it off my list of 'Detroit Must-do's'. Just wish we got the experience like others who rave about the place...
