My boyfriend went because he was having back and neck pain. He asked her multiple times to make sure she had time to work on that. She said she ran out of time in a 90 minute massage so he left there still in very sore.

It was a full hour! Her use of pressure was exactly what I asked for and she even could tell sore areas where she took special care not to make me tense up. I have decided I’m going to make this a monthly treat for myself and already booked again with Anne for the end of the month.The location is great and there is metered parking right in front. The reception area is welcoming and relaxing. They have a ton of rooms which makes me feel like they see a lot of clients which is a good sign. Some places only have one or two rooms and bookings are hard to get. I like I can schedule online too which makes things easier. I really recommend this place!!!!

I’ve suffered from chronic back pain and sciatica for years, and this is the best I’ve ever felt. I went from an 8 on the pain scale most days to now a bad day is a 3. Brad was attentive to my request and performed miracles on my back with a deep tissue massage that seemed tweaked for my injury and included stretches and other treatments I have never had before. Since that session, I've had no pain or soreness. The second time was a more standard deep tissue (or what I'm used to), but was no less disappointing. He has great hands and is exceptional at his craft. I will be back.

I was very relaxed and it was nice but instead of getting in the muscles (I know there are different practices because I am pregnant) it was just like a skin rub. That's not what I was looking for, what they said I would be getting, and not what I paid for. I felt rushed also. I won't be back. The staff was kind. There's better out there that are cheaper. I expressed areas of intense pain in my upper and lower back and shoulders but that was not addressed at all. It was just my skin being rubbed with very very minimal oil to the point her hands were getting caught on my skin and that was painful. It wasn't a great expereince.

I figured since there was a shower with shampoo and condition that there would be a blow dryer as well. There was no place for me to get ready after shower. I had to walk outside with a wet head in December. I was planning on staying to check out juice bar but I just left. There was somewhat of a vibe of get in and get out quickly. This was not the relaxing experience I was hoping for. Sauna itself was very nice so there's that.

Somehow I ended up not going to the incorrect one. After a 50 minute drive all the way out to Rochester I called Detroit, hoping they can accommodate me or help me out. After talking to the manager she was extremely unaccommodating. Told me if I make it back in time I can get part of my (90) min)services or if I don’t they will still charge me 50% of my service charge. Even after considering it was a complete mistake. I’ve been to many spas, and I have no issue paying the money, but I’ve never been to a spa that was completely unaccommodating and unwilling to bend. While standing at the front desk of the Rochester one, it was amazing to me that their front desk tried really hard to find a spot for me to squeeze me in since I was already standing there. I hate to say this, but an establishment ran by Black people versus white people is definitely completely different. Customer service is definitely a different experience. That’s really sad to say. Considering I am a person of color and own my own business. The most important thing is customer service. You guys have completely failed this time around. Even when asking if there were any other openings later in the day the quick response, Of “no we’re full” was given. You didn’t even take two seconds to look to see if there had been any cancellations at all or any accommodations to be made. Thank you for your unaccommodating, non- understanding, inflexible service! I’ve been more accommodated, at thousand dollar a night spa resort!! If spas like this can show their customers are valued, it’s ridiculous you guys can not! Not to mention that you guys lied on me, and said I was cussing and yelling. Which absolutely does not make sense considering I’m literally on the phone begging to be accommodated and have my appointment moved. What kind of person do I look like yelling on the phone and still trying to receive services. How unprofessional that you have staff members who lie and can’t take accountability for their own unprofessionalism!!! I have contacted your owner and corporate because after reading multiple reviews of your starky tones, this has got to stop! People are trying to relax and you guys cause stress And uncomfortable settings!Thanks for your lying response! You knew nothing about my pregnancy until a second call was made! And no accommodation was made then so please stop! As the manager it’s really a true test to your character and customer service! Poor! This wasn’t about a “pregnancy” but you sure made it about that during the call! carolina januleski: Wow! Yesterday I went in for a deep tissue massage bc my back was hurting and I got the best massage of my life!Hope is the best massage therapist I have ever been to. She studied Kinesiology at Wayne and then followed that with a massage therapy degree, so she really knows her way around problem areas.I sleep with my dog and he takes up the whole bed, so I end up in weird sleeping positions; my back was so messed up. I also work on a computer most of the day, so my back was extremely tight and tense.Hope not only treated my problem area but found a bunch of other sore/tense spots. She uses her full body, forearms, elbows etc. to target stubborn areas that need additional pressure. She is a total pro. Whenever I go back, I will always request her. I cannot recommend her enough!!!The place is also beautiful and relaxing and they are so kind and hospitable. My friends got me this as a birthday present and it was the best gift ever! Much much needed!

Her techniques were one of a kind and after the session I felt like everything was pulled and released back into place. The atmosphere was relaxing and quiet and I highly recommend!

I came in and was a little frazzled because google maps took me to the wrong spot for your location. Regardless I told her that, “you all are hard to find”, which she didn’t smile and was curt and asked for me my name and if I had an appointment, which I did. I went on to explain that I tried calling to get someone who could direct me & she cut me off and in a sarcastic tone said, “we’re short staffed and I’m doing the best I can”. Her tone and demeanor were horrendous to be frank and with your prices and what I paid I can’t believe this is the first impression of your spa. I went on to say I wish I would’ve remembered that you have to pay for parking (just recently moved back to Michigan and I’m not familiar with Detroit really) & she said with a snide tone, “it’s downtown what do you expect?!”. I asked her if she knew the name of the parking place off of Griswold and Grand River and she got really nasty and said “you don’t even know where you parked?! How am I supposed to help you if you don’t even know where you’re at?!”. I sat down and cried the 10 minutes before my massage.To pay top dollar to be belittled and ridiculed when I am a store manager and have to be pleasant to people WAY less nice than myself on a regular basis. A spa is a place to relax, this employee should be held accountable for her horrible attitude and quite frankly shouldn’t work in a guest facing job. I’m not sure what it was about me, because she was much nicer to the couple who came in behind me, however I deserved none of her poor etiquette or treatment.The actual woman who did the massage was incredible but it took me awhile to calm down. Even after leaving and thinking about the initial interaction it just is still so upsetting and to have to pay for $20 for parking on top of the total of $232 spent at your location.Thank you for your time

No vibes, no robes, two seconds to changed , my massage therapist was cool she was nice but not sure she knew what she was doing, and my shoulder hurt so bad I wanna call and go off and it’s the day after. Never had pain in my shoulder before my visit but right now it’s like tender to touch have no idea what happened. $20 added gratuity should have been specified before booking. My appointment was at 4pm they called at the last minute the day before to tell me I had to come at 1pm I said that don’t work for me. They say well what about 3pm I said that’s fine. My friend was about 10 minutes late didn’t extend her massage which was the courteous thing to do seeing as though y’all changed our appointment at the last minute. Then after the massage we were being rushed to hurry up and leave because they were closing at 4. This was crazy to me seeing as though my original appointment was booked for 4 but whatever. I feel like I took a Big L and I’ll never go back. My shoulder hurting to the touch is crazy.I’m a stick to the Rochester location or Rivage day spa from now on.

Pty Mack-Mouzon: Angel gave me a facial. She made sure to periodically assess my comfort levels, informed me about the products she was using before application. Wonderful experience.

Whitney Wrenn: My appointment time was 1pm. They changed it to 12pm. With me finding out exactly at 12pm the day of. They demanded me to come in at 2pm which I could not. My entire day was planned around my 12pm appointment time. I was not able to make it at 12pm and my card was still charged. I will be taking further action to get my money refunded. They are extremely unprofessional the manager is the worst. Their argument was “we been calling your phone all morning” this is ridiculous.

We weren’t able to change into robes because the changing rooms are being renovated but they still required us to be there a half hour before the appointment to change and we sat in the waiting room until our appointment time had already started. When talking to the manager, she was immediately rude, defensive, and snarky. When my friend asked to talk to her again after our services to get some clarity, she was even more rude and unprofessional and yelled at my friend even while we were leaving. My massage table was also broken and the face rest had no padding so the plastic pressed into my face the whole time. Definitely not worth even close to the $600 in services. Will not be back. Please don’t waste your money here.

I look forward to returning.UPDATE🚩....Had a massage plus extras scheduled on my Birthday 2/18/22, but Woodhouse canceled my appointment on my birthday. They said my therapist was not available. They did not offer any discounts for a future service and were not very apologetic. The weather was not a artic blast. We live in Michigan so businesses should prepare for snow just like employees.I personally think they should have confirmed my birthday and offered an addtional service, a discount or a complimentary massge at the very least. For this reason Im giving them 3 stars. I didnt mention that for months they did not answer their phone lines or return calls apparently due to a burst pipe. It was not until I went to the business in person that I was able to find out why the were not answering the phone.They should have updated their voicemail advising their customers that they had a building problem and were not booking at the time. Please do better Woodhouse.

I appreciate that she charges what she’s worth -- I believe her training and the length of time she’s been practicing makes her very valuable!She takes the time to talk with me about my physical needs over tea before our session. She thoughtfully and thoroughly meets my requests. The face and head massage is always one of my favorite parts!Hannah uses essential oils if I ask for them. While she’s working on other areas of the body, Hannah puts a warmed rice bag along the spine to heat up the muscles so they are more receptive to her work. If it’s chilly, she turns on a the mat beneath the sheets to make sure I’m warm enough. At the end of every session, Hannah thanks me for letting her work on me, which I love!Her massage room is peaceful and cozy. It has a cool gemstone poster on the wall alongside her massage school certificates that prove she’s been practicing for a long time and is worth every penny! There’s a sweet little corner with a chair, hooks for hanging clothes, and a glass jar for stowing my jewelry.I’ll get more personal about why I love Hannah. I visited her every month for an hour massage during my efforts to get pregnant through In Vitro Fertilization. It took three tries over the course of a few years. Seeing Hannah felt essential to my own self-care that eventually led to me getting pregnant with twins and delivering them both safely, vaginally and at full-term!Prior to this, while I was waiting for a missed miscarriage to complete itself, I went to Hannah for help urging it along so I could begin to heal physically and move forward mentally. That session was extremely powerful on all levels. My body and spirit really need it and I think it was an important progression for Hannah, too, in her development as a massage therapist.

Alana Alpert: Hannah has the key quality for being a brilliant massage therapist: INTUITION. That's the key difference in having a relaxing massage and a healing massage. She is drawn towards the places in your body that truly are in need, and is not afraid to really engage them.

Mandy Garver: Hannah did a couples massage class for my husband and me. We loved it. Hannah was very patient and made sure we had the techniques right before we moved on. She was very organized, and had a booklet for us with the things we learned in it, so when she's not there and we forget, we have a reference! She is an excellent teacher in addition to being a great massage therapist. We highly recommend Hannah!!

Susannah Goodman: Hannah is a miracle worker. I am a potter, lifting and pushing clay, hunching over the wheel for hours at a time. I work up quite the sturdy string of knots running down my spine and around my shoulder blades. I've been seeing Hannah for about a year now, and she has revived my spirits after multiple immobilizing neck strains. I've never encountered such dextrose elbows! She has a great sense of the human anatomy, and moves with agility among the various strata of muscle. Her use of aromatherapy extends the relaxing experience far beyond the actual session. If you're not seeing her yet, you're missing out.

Maggie McGuire: Far, far from your common massage. I let my body get really destroyed, and Hannah took the time to ask thoughtful questions about just what my body felt like and what I wanted to work on. She explained the reasoning and science behind what she was doing and always checked in on my comfort level when working on me. Did wonders for me! I absolutely love her strong hands, her thoughtfulness, and her obvious passion and commitment to her craft. And her place is really nice too!

Julian del Campo: Hannah gave me the best massage I've ever had. She is very professional and courteous, and a knowledgable advisor of physical well being. Her expertise is well worth the price, and I will definitively be back.Also the location is very convenient and in the middle of one of my favorite neighborhoods.

Miriam Gardin: I have received numerous massages from Hannah over the last several years and they have been phenomenal (full disclosure: she's my sister). I've had bodywork done all over the world and Hannah's intuition, sensitivity, and skill rank at the top of the list. I always leave her studio feeling not only physically rejuvinated but also uplifted and recharged in other ways because of her sound and targeted wellness advice. She meets her clients where they are and offers completely individualized care.

Gorgeous facilities, ample room, relaxing vibe; each of us enjoyed our treatments (massage, pedicures, manicure) and left feeling pampered and refreshed. Prices are a bit higher than a strip mall facility, but rightly so and well worth it: the steam room, pool, hot tub, locker rooms, and showers were clean and beautiful. Highly recommend!!

Christina England: I booked last minute because I had some time to spare and my usual downtown spa was booked. You may like this if you have NEVER been to a spa before. The pool is the only decent area. There is paint peeling off the walls, sinks wouldn’t drain, the toilet areas are terrible tight little booths that remind you of a prison the showers were decent but not cleaned fast enough. I cannot believe how run down it looks. The staff is not helpful there is zero privacy, they didn’t even have a laundered robe for me they had to open one from a bag and the slippers were the soaked they handed me so disappointed. There weee zero infused waters or tea or coco you could make in the locker room/relaxing areas and no fruit or snack ms that is typical for a spa of this price range. Whoever is leaving reviews have never been to a good spa. I spent A LOT of money at spas and they had a chance to earn that and the unprofessional, loud staff that seemed to lurk around no private changing area and dirty appearance really turned me off!!! To bad because I did like the overall vibe in the pool area. The hot tub is not nice and had crystals at the bottom which is never appealing there is no sauna.

heather hurley: USED to be one of my favorite places in town. During 25 years of bartending I have suggested this place countless times. NO more!This used to be my husband's go-to place for buying gift cards for me. I had a few saved up and decided to treat my friends for their two birthdays (one their 50!). We planned for the day, I made the reservations for all three of us to have services, I got a babysitter.... and upon arrival I was told my gift cards had to be verified by a third party that could take up to 4 days. Note my husband goes directly to the spa to buy the gift cards. Apparently they had a breach in security which has spurred this process. Having worked years in customer service, I know when something is the fault of the company or of the customers. The fault lay on MGM and all they could do is direct me to a phone number to call. Even though the cards were attached to my name and I had my driver's license and I could verify the amount of the cards they were unwilling to accept. It was very disappointing and will gladly spend my money elsewhere.

When I tell you it felt like God reached down from the heavens and gave me the massage himself My soul was touched. Every spot he hit took me to heaven. I highly recommend Jerell professional, soft touch and pays attention to your needs. The atmosphere was so refreshing. I will definitely be returning soon.

Summer Alkhafaji: Very nice place. We stayed at the MGM hotel twice, months apart, yet both times the hot tub was closed for renovation! The receptionist didn't do a decent job informing us of all the amenities available. We were not made aware that there are robes and slides available to use inside the spa! One would assume someone would inform you of available amenities. I also had a question regarding one of the shampoos for sale at the store front, but she was very annoyed by my 1 question! Not sure I would like to go there again, very unwelcoming vibe.

olga long: I was staying at the casino for my 55th birthday with my husband and about 20 friends. My husband wanted to pamper me with a special spa treatment. I enjoyed a facial that included a relaxing scalp, arm, and shoulder massage. The spa environment is very clean, beautifully decorated, and tranquil.When staying at the hotel or using spa services, you have access to the wonderful pool. There are round rattan oversized chairs to lounge in. The amenities are plenty and offer a full locker room to shower or change your clothes. Fresh fluffy towels are also provided. My friends, daughter, and I are returning this Saturday and cannot wait to chill by the pool before dinner at D Prime Steakhouse.

Let me just say this: I thought I had experienced top-notch massages in the past, but I was very wrong! After receiving the 90-minure RS Signature massage, I felt like I was floating-literally. Wayne worked magic on my tight muscles and stretched the stress right out of me. The vibe was so zen and comfortable! I will be happily returning...SOON!
