Lumen Detroit: what do users think?
K W: The atmosphere and staff are always great. The reason for my 3 star review is because the lentil burger was awful. By far the worst burger I've ever had. It was pastey with no flavor. Should rethink your veggie offering

Jesse Balok: Great stand alone spot with outdoor space and heated seating in colder months. Good access to green area and views of the city skyline. Nice, clean decor in open friendly environment. Good for conversation and cocktails. Food is well prepared and the menu has old favorites as well as some interesting and new options.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Seared Tuna, Lumen Burger and Fries Parking options Paid street parking, Valet …More
Donald Radabaugh: I always brag about Lumen. Never had a bad experience until Wednesday night. Food quality dropped and prices rose. The prices now don't match the product and the quality has never been lower. I could write a novel about this experience but I'll just say I hope whatever changes have been recently made are reversed. It will be a good, long while before I return. I skittish about Lumen now. Our server was great. It's not a service issue. It's quality and price, specifically quality.
Sherry Ray: First time dining here. Great location, warm/inviting atmosphere. Friendly staff, food preparation expedited, freshly served, perfect temperature and delicious!! Will definitely dine here again.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Luis Valera: Food, service and the ambiance Is Incredible. It was soo good I had to have It twice back to back. I would highly recommend It
Ron Reed: Nicely upscale building in the heart of town. Staff is typical Detroit super friendly and attentive. The food is good, but this is a restaurant you visit for the location and beautiful building.Food: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Stacee Bailey: Lovely restaurant with nice ambience. Food is delicious with excellent service.Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Phil Williams: Nuanced and delicious dishes, all perfectly executed. Staff are responsive and service is prompt given how busy it can be. The meatball appetizer is divine and all of our entrées were utterly perfect. Drinks and food are understandably pricey, but this is completely in sync with their quality.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Becky Williams: Fake upscale restaurant period!
Garcia Bragg: They respected our reservations, we were seated in a timely fashion. The wait staff was professional, and detailed. Every dish we tried, was satisfying.Parking: There was parking nearby available, however we were fortunate enough to valet that night.
Todays Present: We loved our dinner here. And we really enjoyed the service. Brianna was a superb waitress. I appreciated that she has tried everything on the menu and was able to give helpful insight. She genuinely wanted us to enjoy our meal and experience. The pasta with salmon was delicious! I really enjoyed the flavors and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The burger was very flavorful with the softest bun. The calamari was just okay...I wouldn't order it again. Mac and cheese was great and the brownies were the perfect treat especially warmed up! I would absolutely come again and recommend to others.
Stacy Weber: The appetizers were so good, this feta spread with herbs was our fave! The drinks were also really good. And we enjoyed all of the nature light with our dining. Our server was very helpful and attentive.
joe31400: I heard really good things about this place, but I had a terrible experience. First off, the waiter seemed very rude, didn’t seem like she wanted to be working. Her service was good, but she didn’t wanna talk, nor did she seem happy to be working. The chicken wing seemed to be old as they were very chewy, never once have I had chewy wings. The burgers that were ordered well done were also burned and my friend that ordered medium got his well done. The only thing I enjoyed here was the meatballs and the fires. Overall, the atmosphere is very nice inside, but the food wasn’t good for the price.
Rick: Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More

Rakeshia Wright: The food was delicious, and the lamb chops we had were cooked and seasoned just right. The private canapy was so nice that my husband and I reserved. The wait staff was exceptional. The atmosphere was pleasant and quiet, most definitely going back. This is a great spot for any occasion 10/10!!!!!!

Highlands: what do users think?
Larissa D: Best view of Detroit in the area. The cuisine never disappoints and getting there is 1/2 the fun. I LOVE the elevator to the top.
Katina Gorman: This is an amazing restaurant, with an exceptional dining experience. We celebrated our anniversary here, and our server Byron made sure we had an incredible night. He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and recommended great options for us. We will definitely be coming back, thanks to the great food, great views, and great service!
Andrew Fawaz: The view is amazing but the service was horrible. Our table wasn’t ready when we got there. It took 15 minutes to have someone even look at us when we sat down. Every course was late, our steak was cold and not cooked the way we asked. All around bad experience.
Swalin Carr: Very displeased with the service I didn’t eat my dinner the server bagged my food I came home had a totally different dinner not sure who meal it was I called and was told I’ll receive a $85.00 refund because of the mistake never received my refund after 3 weeks of calling to inquire about the refund leaving my phone number with no response from anyone finally after 3 1/2 weeks I called and the manager called me back and told me he could only offer a $40.00 refund I would never recommend or visit this restaurant very unprofessional I should have received the refund that was quoted in the beginning of my complaint
Jalal Taleb: The worst “fine dining” experience I’ve had in my 27 years of dining:- Asked for Halloumi as my first course (of 3), and was brought a beet salad. Fortunately, this was substituted quickly with a pleasantly cold and clearly drying / wilted Halloumi- The next course was a duck and the mushroom rigatoni. The mushroom rigatoni had the aftertaste of a redux reaction in an organic chemistry lab. It was horrifying - a sort of radioactive rigatoni, if you will. The duck was 3 thin slices, with bizarre complements- scallops were next: they were undercooked inside, yet browned outside. Very bizarre juxtaposition. The 8 Oz NY strip came in parallel: asked for medium and it was (1) cooked well done and (2) as opposed to “15 day dried,” it felt like it was dried or 3 years in the Mediterranean sun. What a jokeAside from the horrendous food, each course was spread by 30-35 minutes. We were just waiting there as other diners would come near our table to take photos of the view because their view of the river (as opposed to the city) was apparently insufficient (presumably while they were also waiting for their food in excess); poor etiquetteBy the second course, we were plotting our escape: “should we ask for the check when the third (and final) course arrives?”Indeed we did.0/10 and candidly this restaurant needs to be shutdown by regulatory authorities for its shambolic food and service.
Mouhamed Bseileh: The restaurant has some great potential and some of the dishes are delicious like the Wagyu appetizer but the staff isn’t as welcoming as you’d expect and if you’re seated near the kitchen you will smell like they were cooking you medium rare, even after requesting a seat change before we sat down there was no effort made to accommodate although there were empty tables. For a restaurant at these prices the expectation is that every table should be fantastic and the staff should be extremely welcoming but I guess they don’t have to be since 20% gratuity is included in the bill regardless.
Jessica Opal: My waitress had a bit of an attitude because my first drink tasted nothing like any strawberry Margherita, and I asked what tequila was in it, because it was gross and I never want to order it again. It was like Luizelle or something. I said "Oh ok, it's terrible, it tastes like Tanqeray (spelling)". Then she obnoxiously said something like "Well its not".Ok, I didn't say it was; I was just telling you what it tastes like. I couldn't even drink that swill. I tried another with Patron, still not great, but at least the Patron was good. They don't have any girly drinks here. All the drinks are for 60 year old men or hipsters. Next time I'll look for a wine. Either way, at these prices, I don't expect attitude. I've waited tables and bartended for years, I was never rude to anyone for no reason. You're at work dear. I miss Iridescence.
Jay Shook: Cool experience but the food was super overpriced. Wait staff was great tho and overall the wife and I enjoyed our experience.Recommended dishes Foie Gras Brulee, Wagyu Beef Tartare …More
Shelly Mazur: I have been to the Highlands 5 or 6 times in the last few years and every time has been a phenomenal experience. The food and drinks have been perfection, the service impeccable, and the view is amazing. It is our "go to" special place for any important celebration. So, I was very excited that my son had booked us at the Highlands for the Mother's Day Brunch and been looking forward to it for over a month. We were seated promptly upon arrival, and our waiter introduced himself and explained how everything worked. He took our drink order and told us to please help ourselves to the buffet. Besides returning with our drinks that was pretty much the last time we saw him. I ordered a Mimosa, my son and my friend ordered the Bloody Mary. All were $16 a piece, which is fine for the great drinks we have received previously in the bar area, but that certainly wasn't the case here. The Bloody Mary's tasted like tomato juice and vodka with no spice, and a pickle and olive set inside. We then helped ourselves to the food, which included carved ham and steak, crab eggs benedict, quiche and some heavy pasta dishes and sides. The quiche was hard, and absolutely everything else was cold. The best part was the steak and mashed potatoes (at least the gravy was hot). I had to go to the bartender near the buffet to get another Mimosa, and not one plate was ever cleared from our table. The dessert table consisted of mini eclairs and danishes like the ones you can purchase from Costco. I was at least happy for the fresh fruit. The worst part was that my friend had never been to the Highlands, and my son and I have been telling him for a couple years now how wonderful of a dining experience it is. I was basically embarrassed. The whole experience was way overpriced and very disappointing. We have always dined on the 71st floor in the actual Highlands restaurant and bar area, and this was on the 72nd floor in the special event area. This should've been explained much better on your website, or possibly use a different name to lower the expectations. I am absolutely fine with the pricing in the past in the actual restaurant because we have always had an exquisite experience, but this time we definitely did not get what we paid for.I do feel I may give it another chance and return to dine in the restaurant, but greatly hope the ambience, service and food is how I have remembered in the past.
Steve Heavyside: Steak was mediocre at best. Waited 2 hours for food to be served. Arrived at 6:30, sat at bar. Didn't get food until almost 9 pm. The appetizer came out with the main course. For the price of this dining experience, complete let down.Food: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Adam Losey: Kelly and Chad: A++++
Chris: Brandy, Sam and Max are the most awesome servers I have ever experienced!! Friendly, personable, happy, great comraderie and made my evening thoroughly enjoyable 😊Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sharif A: Great service and great food.
firas talab: Only for the view, the food is absolutely disgusting will not be coming back here ever again.
Waun Lavada: Really awesome experience! Really grateful that. I had the opportunity to dine here at this establishment. Our waiter. Byron was very nice. Didn’t feel like our food was rushed. If I can rate this restaurant 10 stars I would.!Recommended dishes Foie Gras Brulee …More
Air Z: Gorgeous view for Detroit, Great venue for any events or weddings. Came here for our anniversary on a Thursday night, we came a little earlier than our reservation time, and 2 hosts told us to have a drink at the bar and will call us when we check-in at the time. We had great time at the bar, but it has already passed our reservation time, so I went there to check the status for our table, and one of the hosts completed forgot about us, it's not even busy the whole time, and she asked my name and told me to pay for our bill at the bar then will take us to our table with such a cold attitude!!! It was not pleasant at all. After we paid the bill, another host was there, asked my name again and took us to the table and she was sweet. The sunset view was amazing here, our waiters are great. So it was prefix menu, you can add extra dishes or options, very interesting and unique, the food was pretty good, it was a lot of food, we can't even have dessert, yup that full. I'll definitely be back if I'm in town again. Hope I can add that one star back!
K'Loni Thorpe: This is my first time experiencing Highlands. Niko, Sam, Max, Nik, & special compliments to Chef Paris on the EXCELLENT customer service, attention to craftsmanship, and overall vibes. STRONGLY recommend. Thank you for an incredible experience. Looking forward to next time ^_*K’Loni

Eric Sidwell: The food was wonderful. Salah took wonderful care of us.
Will Bonam: I came here for my birthday and had a wonderful experience. The 3 course meal was amazing and the drinks were phenomenal. I plan on coming back just so I can experience a different variety of food for the 3 course meals since they change.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Creme Brulee, Australian Lamb Chops, Crispy Pork Belly, Wagyu Beef Tartare, Wagyu Bavette …More
