W E: Tried for the first time at Midland County Fair. Food was decent but when I was handed my brisket sandwich I thought it was a joke. Walmart hamburger bun and barely any meat - $15 for a tiny sandwich and a lukewarm small side of mac and cheese. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt - maybe they were trying to conserve food for the busy fair day, but come on.

The sauce has a small spice, just right for us.THE MAC & CHEESE Is real cheese and tons of flavor. Baked Beans with a hint of BBQ. Both blew me away.A little pricey but well worth the price and the wait.The combo dinner is the best value!

Tris Valentine: The catfish was hard and the ribs were nothing but fat. I ordered a six piece shrimp and they sent me a six piece catfish. The baked beans taste like they poured a whole bottle of honey in that small container of baked beans. The food was so disgusting that I refused to eat it and just threw it away. I ordered from this restaurant for a long time and this is the first time I've been totally disappointed. In order to take pictures I did take one container back of the trash.

Michelle Lomason: The rib tips were very tough and almost impossible to chew. The fries were lukewarm and lacked salt. I thought I’d treat myself as I rarely ever get takeout but it was no treat. I realized you just reopened but that should not be an excuse. It was very disappointing.

We got the 12 piece catfish and 12 piece perch basket along with coleslaw and baked beans, The baked beans were delicious. Oh and also the fried okra. Very good portion. Sizes are great. d P: I use to luv the food, things have changed.The ribs are tough, catfish sandwich is full of salt frozen fish nuggets, which use to be real fish, their often out of peach cobbler, and the bread is stale.

So Mr Willie I like my order the first time I ordered from your business but I will not be coming back to your establishnent. Very poor customer service. I offered to bring the food back to him but he refused. Eat at your own risk. I spent 31 dollars. The catfish was good but the rib tips were tuff and boney and the shrimp was not crispy and tasty. The BBQ sauce is flavorful and barely tips toward the sweet sweet side of scale. It is delightful on the pulled pork, chicken, brisket, and ribes. The portions are filling. The side dishes are varied and tasty! My favorite sides are the baked beans and fried okra! They sell their own seasoning mixes for chicken and pork. They have homemade desserts. They have their Alabama "white sauce, as well for purchase.The restaurant is clean and brightly lit with several large windows. Note: they do not have a public restroom. Ken Gobart: Our first visit as we decided to try on 12/30/2022 and were very pleased with the Service & the food. The person at the counter, Ophelia was a delight to talk with and helped us with our food order. We ate in the restaurant as the seating area was very clean and felt invited. We had the Brisket dinner and 1/2 slab of rib dinner, both exceptional, meat fell off the bone and the brisket you could pull apart with a fork. Thanks for the great service, we will visit again.

Anthony Hardin: The brisket was ok, a 6 or 7 out of 10. I don't know if the large chunks of cream cheese in the salmon dip appetizer were intentional, but they resulted in some bites being fairly spicy while others were almost bland. I think I would have preferred a more homogeneous mix. The music was good, but quite loud for the number of people in the restaurant. We arrived at about 7:30- 8:00 on a Saturday evening. I would go again if invited, although I probably wouldn't plan a visit on my own.

J V: We drove in from Ontario, Canada to attend the Flint Firebirds game against Kitchener Rangers. It was fate that led us to Blackstone's! We had just registered for their Social Club before our trip after finding them online. Walking downtown from our hotel, the original restaurant we were going to was closed, and we saw the back entrance of Blackstone's and decided to go in.Wow, we were blown away. The atmosphere, the amazing smell of the food, the decor, everything had a great ambiance. We bellied up to the bar and met Zach, the bartender. What a fantastic representative to have at the bar. He was friendly, great service, and great recommendations. Then we met this amazing gentleman behind the bar. Had a great conversation, and it felt like we knew him forever - Jerrid. Turns out, Jerrid is the owner!!After everyone on our way telling us to stay away from Flint, Zach and Jerrid made our visit so memorable we are already planning our next trip back.Jerrid, we can not thank you enough for your kindness, generosity and hospitality, and for making us feel like family. We can not wait to come back for our next trip and spend some more time at the restaurant and bar!For everyone wondering - Flint is a fantastic city to visit. Though we were there for only a short time, we felt safe walking around, drinking the water, and eating the food.
