X: what do users think?
Mallory Froman: Cool little speak easy. Awesome vibes. Awesome place to hang with friends.
Julie Vaughn: Cocktails are great and creative.Atmosphere is awesome!!Speakeasy in Flint!! Love it
Joel Arnold: Appreciate them being in Flint, but they need reliable hours. Walked in at 11:45 on a Saturday with some folks from out of town and hours said they were open until 1. They said then they were just closing then so had to go somewhere else. Very frustrating, especially when bringing folks who are new to Flint out. I’d love to come back if I knew when they’d be open, but right now it seems pretty unreliable.
The Models Bag: Very Classy hideaway!
Shay Davis: Loved everything here!
Nic Gilskey: Awesome little Speakeasy. First off, for first timers like we were, it is a little hard to find. When you are looking at Xolo straight on, you should see an "X" with an arrow pointing to the right. Follow that around the outside of the building and you should see another X over a non-descriptive entrance. Ring the doorbell, there is no password to worry about. You'll hear a click when the door unlocks for you. Look for another X with an arrow, it basically takes you through the back hallways, and you'll go a little further than you think you should. It basically spits you out at the backside of Xolo (could you just walk in through Xolo? Probably. But it's more fun to go the back route). There's a bookshelf tucked into the side, you'll push on that and be in (the Xolo staff is friendly and helpful and will direct you in if you have any problems finding it). Ok, review portion. There's maybe 4 places in downtown Flint that I know of and have tried that are serving cocktails in the $12-14 range: Simmer, Sauce, Cork on Saginaw, and here (although ours here were really $11 and $12). Out of all of those, these cocktails were the best. My date and I each had 2 cocktails and they were all superlative. The one that stuck out for me was La Pistola, a mezcal drink with green chartreuse, lime and muddled jalapeno. It was balanced, wasn't spicy like some drinks I've had that were similar conceptually, just a nice smokiness from the mezcal and a crisp peppery finish. I've seen other reviews mention food, it seems like it's cocktails only right now which is totally fine by me and more my expectation of a speakeasy.
Kayleigh Jade: Nice vibe. Delicious old fashioned. Fast service.
Logan: Couldn't find entrance ran doorbell nothing
Flint Raised: The best place to have a drink in Flint... Matthew the bartender is awesome and knowledgable. The vibe is big city speakeasy.
Steve Obrzut: Best bar in town. Try the old fashioned.
Tom W: Drinks are just ok. No food. Too busy for the amount of staff they had (they were hustling to keep up but couldn’t, so nothing against them). The concept is cool but the speakeasy in fenton kills this one by far
Jacob Yambrick: Love the entrance stepS. It’s fun and makes me feel like I have some secret knowledge!
Lori McDaniel-Whitmire: Flint's greatest secret. Love this bar. Great atmosphere, cocktails and music
Hannah DeHaven: Drinks were okay, it's more presentation than anything but the food was amazing. It was pretty quiet and the way they have the secret entrance doesnt quite make sense so people get confused and pull rather than push.
Anonymous Person: Lucky to have given a star at all! We came in Friday night super excited to be there, we sat down at the bar 5 minutes no acknowledgment!, we thought maybe because both bartenders were busy, but then another group walked in and got greeted, as soon as they hit the door. Very stereotyped and will never will recommenced this place ever!!!
Adam Goulet: Quite secluded, very intimate, with amazing service. Bartenders are really quite knowledgeable about all products and cocktails.
Erik Varney: Second visit after a less than stellar first visit. Second visit the bar was less than a quarter full. Disappointing Expectations are high as I personally want it to be successful. My choice cocktail presentation and taste was good. Beer selection is limited along with limited knowledge of the breweries. Ordering a specialized cocktail that is not on the menu can be a challenge.
Matt Anderson (Funcrusher573): Amazing!!
Chris Channell: Drinks are a little pricey but very good. Not exactly what I would call a speakeasy but still cool.
Michael Donegan: Great selection of spirits and cocktails. They really put an effort into making superb drinks. When it's busy here expect to wait some time for service, but it's worth it.
Steve Nicholls: Fantastic little "speakeasy" nicely hidden in downtown Flint. I absolutely LOVE the entry method. its definitely one of a kind. I wont spoil it by giving the details, but I can definitely say its worth checking out. Curiosity made my wife and I stop by to check out the "Xperience" and wow! all I can say is you definitely need to check this place out.

The Eberson: what do users think?
Tobias Lerke: The Eberson has a new theme and name, Pop Rox - a theme of adult candy drinks (actually tasty drinks) and DJ music, definitely a place designed as the only college bar in the city. It is no longer a barcade so no games, just music and eccentric decor. There is a lot of empty space so would either add more seating or some type of filler. Most the other bars downtown are more dark, hole in the wall type places or designed for fancy older people to drink wine, Pop Rox is a refreshing upbeat youthful additive to the Flint night life. It would be a nice youthful end cap after enjoying down town attractions. Perfect location where you can walk to most of downtown area and right next to the Capital Theater, so enjoy a performance then a drink afterwards. First time visiting since the change over in theme and name, don't like how they still use the old reviews and photos, it is far too different now to make them relevent or even accurate. Recommend deleting The Eberson Google Maps account and creating a new Pop Rox account otherwise many customers will be confused by the photos, videos, and reviews. There is not a lot of group seating so a larger group will find it difficult to sit together, seems it is more for dating or a few friends to hang. Also recommend adding more seating on the second floor, there is just a large open space not really designed for standing but no place to sit either. Maybe a pool table or something could fit, give drinkers something to do, maybe a Dance Dance Revolution game. The concern is with all the other options downtown for drinking and eating, the main blood flow for this bar staying alive are the young college students which the campuses may not fully recover in attendance due to Covid for several more years. I recommend marketing like crazy to the students and posting around the UoM, MSU, Kettering, and Mott campuses, especially the local dorms. Would also build up Instagram, Tik Tik, and Facebook posts, even offer a discount or free samplers to those who post while there to build up the marketing online quickly.
Racquel Jones: Good customer service. Clean place. Fruity drinks
Jaycob Richardson: Pretty cool place, fun games, but needs an updated schedule. I tried going in there last night with some friends (Saturday) and they were closed. It was weird to find out due to the door saying Thursday-Saturday and the schedule on google saying the same thing.
Ascendant Warface: Great atmosphere, comfortable seating. I've been to a few arcade bars similar to this, but this one is lacking something that is very important. I HIGHLY recommend converting the arcade machines/slot machines into accepting tokens, tokens that come with ordering drinks/food. Maybe add a few games such as guitar hero & Mario kart. I'm used to going to arcade bars and playing with the tokens they provide, sales of food/drinks will increase and make up for the cost of the slot machines that are currently accepting quarters. I came here and didn't even wanna play the arcade machines because it just felt off to me, because I never had to pay with quarters. This place could have so much more potential.
Alverine Simpson: Nice place to have a party or event.
Anthony Moore: Nice place to gather and socialize, get a drink, and play some classic video games
Cathy Hall: Always awesome. Drinks are great
Eric Boegner: Fabulous handcrafted drinks, and an old school arcade?! Why not!!
G Flesher: The "arcade" is a complete joke. Most of the games were out of order and the one pinball machine that was working had a busted left flipper. The place is small overall but the vibe is fairly cool so if you are looking for a bar lounge you may like it.
Brian Tresnak: Very cool concept and we're fortunate to have a space like this downtown. The only bummer is that many of the games weren't working when we were there, including both pinball machines. Good cocktails, great crowd.
CHristopher Hagerty: Excellent concept drinks and video games who can't love that? The only thing I have to say is some of the games need to be fixed and you need to add a few more games.
J.D.: The atmosphere was really nice. The bartenders were professional also and the atmosphere was aesthetically pleasing. They also played great music. The problem lies in what we had originally came for; the games. I tried both pinball machines and they were broken. Half of the arcade games were broken as well. I did find about 3 games that worked without issue but 3 out of 20 machines is not good. Next time i go to downtown Flint, I will be skipping this place. Maybe one day they will get someone in there to fix their machines!
John Mousseau: Great drinks, fun games but the food left something to be desired. Almost made it to 5 stars. They really could've been a contender.
Cortney Schultz: Drinks were good but I was disappointed in the games-i thought there would be more
Joshua Moses: Great staff and a great place to kill some time. The old school arcade games were a blast from the past.
Rachael Lewis: Some of the best drinks we have ever had! Both bar tenders were amazing!! Very friendly and knew how to make a drink!!highly recommend! Only wish we would have visited sooner!
Sidney Willis: I get here at 11:30, stand in line for 15 minutes, get to the lady bartender, she tells me the bar is closed, and she was rude about it, won't be coming here anymore
Rodney Mclaurin: Did security there during video shoot
Aris Klobucar: Went here with a group of friends, the drinks weren't good (mine literally just tasted like cough syrup, nobody at our table finished theirs bc of how bad they were), the food felt overpriced for what it was, and the bartenders had an attitude and kept acting as if we were annoying them when we were trying to order. also they kept turning the music up extremely loudly to the point of where we had to yell to hear each other, and combined with having some of the games be loud it was a lot. maybe we just had an off experience but we wont go again.
Joshua Spencer: I love this place! Great space, great staff, locally owned and created, and a fun place to hang out with friends, even before or after dinner, or a show. You’ll find it easily in the heart of downtown.
Ju Harden: Great Place

Brandon Beck: One of my favorite places to grab a beer in Flint. Good views and great service

Christine Bilkos: Wow!! Great place, great vibes, great service. The bartenders are extremely friendly. This will definitely be my go to place! Flint is the place to be!

Brad Sugden: We come here all the time and it's ALWAYS fantastic
Marchristin Moore: Love the adult caprisun
Sarah Klammer: Great little bar with a big patio on top of the flint farmers market! Mid to late 20s crowd when we were there on a Friday night. People ordered pizza to the bar, since they don't have a kitchen. Very low key and chill.Rachel the bartender is super sweet and chill. Definitely the kind of place you could go on your own or with a date or group for a chill night or wind down (or up) for a night out.
Angel Renee: The bar tender made us some kind of grapefruit mimosa that was freaking delicious!
Tobias Lerke: St. Patrick day was a blast. Beautiful 70 degree sunny day on the Farmers Market Market Tap balcony with live music and good drink. Steady Eddies provided food, normally no food is available though you can always have food from any of the other vendors at the Farmers Market. "Stevenson" is the best drink I had, off menu. Beautiful view of downtown, MSU and UMF campus.
J Lamico: Always a good place to unwind after a long day on the job.
Peter M: I forgot to add this place!! I went here about a month ago. Great service with a solid selection. The patio goes in forever, it’s pretty impressive. Check this place out!

Walter McAdow: Great service. Great people. Fun unassuming atmosphere with good drinks!
Char Y: Great drinks, great service! Will be back!

Barley & Vine: what do users think?
Tonja Horton: This was my second time here and I really like the food, atmosphere and service. They have a unique menu that's a little different from others and they keep it simple. A nice place for date night or a girls night out, you won't be disappointed!
Rachel Oligney: Great food and service!
Debbie Upleger: We had my nieces Brunch Bridal shower here, they were so accommodating, the brunch was Great!! (and awesome mimosa's) It is a fun atmosphere and would highly recommend!!
Rick Gehrig: Food and drink were very good. Staff friendly. The kitchen was rather slow in getting the food out, even though the menu was limited due to an event, at one point, they closed the kitchen because they were so far behind. And the bar was less than half full
Bridget Stafford: Wanted to love it but left a little disappointed. Granted, we probably should have gotten the charcuterie for which this place is apparently known, but it just wasn't what we felt like that day. There was also very little information about what it contained or the options that appeared on the menu. We had never been in and weren't familiar with the menu or their foods or specialties, and there was no feeling of welcome, and honestly, we kind of felt like we were in the way. There were only about 3 or 4 people who appeared to be regulars at the bar. We had a few beers and shared some fried clams, wings, and fries. Ok, but not especially hot or crispy. Maybe it's just not our place.
Elaine Verus: My family was here visiting from Florida. So I thought It would be nice to take them somewhere we all had had never been. But it was so disappointing. They were not even busy. But it took almost an hour to get our food. Then it came out a little bit at a time. We couldn't even eat together. The food wasn't even very good. Definitely won't be back.
Michele Schultz: Heard good things about this place. Being St Patrick's Day they promoted an Irish menu. Got there about 4pm. Still at 4:45 no one had acknowleged our table. There were maybe 30 total patrons and about 4 waitresses. A simple hello, we'll be with you shortly would have been nice. We left and went next door to Valley where we were greater and seated immediately and Orders were promptly taken. Will think twice before traveling from Davison to visit Barley and Vine again.
Jaquelin Cooper: Sat here for over 20 minutes, no one said a word to us. Not a hello, not a would you like a menu, not a word. People were literally leaving their tables to walk up to the bar to order, well I’m not doing that, sorry. Maybe you could try getting a waitress or waiter? Literally didn’t see anyone taking care of any tables. Overheard a guy walking up to the bar say the exact same thing. Won’t be back.
Cortney S: What a bummer to sit there for 30 minutes and no one stopped to grab even a drink order 😔
Dennis Smith: Nice Irish party for St Patrick day
Vicki Shumaker: Small, but had some fun.
Robert OBriant: We were there for a special event. It was packed but regardless the wait staff was excellent, the food very good, and service was quick. I would go again just for the wings that were tender, moist and flavorfull.
Joelle Avery: Outstanding! Prices, service, atmosphere, food and drinks.
John Farkas: Very nice place, good food, good live music, good staff. Very nice atmosphere, laid back and fun.
Marlon Carbone: Nice neighborhood hang. Cool events every night.
Haofeng Su: Very cozy and friendly local business. Great drinks and food.
Ashley Lloyd: First time here tonight and it was such a nice atmosphere! Everyone was nice and helpful and the little comfy sitting area was so cozy to chill and talk! They also had live music but it wasn't so loud you couldn't have conversation. 😊
Scott Gow: Good entertainment, slow service due to one person on staff all night and food quantity extremely minimal
Jeff Stancroff: Barley & Vine is a fun local spot! The always seem to have something going on whether it be trivia, bingo or live music. They have a great selection of wines and beer to keep the night rolling as well as a nice menu full of interesting options. Important to note that the menu is scaled back when they have activities but there are still plenty of great options! Stop in and give them a try.
Tony Orr: Craft beer and special menu not really up my ally.
C: Went for lunch today. I got their take on PB&J press sandwich and the broccoli cheese soup, it was delicious! We will diffently go back, cute place with games and they have different event nights. Large selection of wine, beer, and speciality cocktails. I tried the wine sampler and it came with perfect paired cheese.
