The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center: what do users think?
Logan Murphy: Been here a couple times and haven’t been back. Prices are shocking, considering it is located in one of the lowest income areas of Flint. Maybe take note of the population you are serving.
Sabrina: Called in the morning about donating some furniture that I have and the guy over the phone said to call once I arrived and they would come out and help me unload my vehicle. I did just that and they told me to come inside. I go inside and explain to an employee that I had called about large furniture and need help unloading it (as was promised) and he says "Nahh, I need to see it first". So I take him out to my vehicle, and before I can even get my truck open he says "Nope I won't take that." He then proceeds to tell me that it's only good for sitting on the side of the road and that's where I should leave it. I was absolutely appalled, not only was that beyond rude but now I had a vehicle full of furniture and responsibilities I couldn't attend to because of it.
Paul Bojesen: This Salvation Army is out of touch with reality. Charging lots log money for literal junk. Not to mention this store is in a rough area of Flint. What community do they think they’re serving here?! Waste of time.
Bethany Fraser: They have recently remodeled and seem to have remodeled their price structure along with it (for the better) I found a sewing machine for $25 and she lives! I can’t tell you how many times a sewing machine would have saved my butt leading up to my wedding. Staff was super polite and even asked if I was finding everything ok. I actually thought that was funny because who goes thrifting with any expectations?I found some canning jars and a glass cactus, too.
Johnny Johnson: The prices of the items that the salvation army is selling have gotten out of hand. They're selling used items for retail prices which doesn't make sense to me. Since they closed the furniture store next door they have everything all jam packed in the clothing store. And you can't shop more than five minutes with gospel music blaring in the background getting on your nerves.
SUSIE FORD: Always a great shopping experience. So clean and organized. The staff is always do friendly and helpful. Plus today everything I loved was half price. Win, Win!!!
Victoria: I am actually going to be contacting the head honchos of this salvation army. The history of salvation army is amazing and the employees here does not fit the job!
Heather Wood: No contest, this is the most Immaculate second hand store in the country!😍
Penny Thomas: Prices went up on items with tags. I'm trying to save up for a new camera so I get my spring wardrobe here and save tons! There are lots of treasures to be found.
Kristina Inloes: The people there are rude they sit there and they talk behind your back if you do one little thing my daughter accidentally went in the bathroom she's four when they were close to covid and they sat there and talked about her at the counter they are very very rude people and it was even a manager
Red Smith: Didn't have a large selection. Didn't purchase anything.
Gene Koslofsky: Clean,well lite!
Dawn Filpansick: We were able to get some good clothes and the store was clean. I just wish the fitting rooms were open it would make shopping a lot easier.
Jan McKenzie: Love this place! Friendly staff, discount clothes and shoes. What could be better!
Phyllis Thomas: Prices are so high now, I only go here once in a while and usually walk out with nothing. Bright side, I'm saving money.
Mark Lemonds: Always find something we need at a great price.
Agueda Kuchek: No contact with staff..just dropped off donations.
Olga Bormuth: overpriced, dirty store, which maybe is ok for Flint residents, but my first impression was ruined by dirty socks laying by donated furniture. There were two workers, lady didn't even say hello. A guy was friendly.
Woody: Small but clean and neat. Found several gems. Will visit again on next trip to Flint.
Stacy Fluty: Older fellow working the register was very rude and refused to smile back at the kids. Needs some people skills big time.
Copper Penny: Clothes were not meant for staples!!!

The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center: what do users think?
Sandi Brunner: So clean and organized! Friendly employees!
John Hallwood: Awesome. Great deals and kind employees.
T Patrick Cummer: Nice large thrift store, worth stopping for the little treasures!
Logan Murphy: UPDATED REVIEWThey recently reorganized the store and it looks very clean and nice. The prices have been consistently fair for almost a year now. We find amazing treasures here.
Christina Goddard: Prices so much cheaper than goodwill. Better selection as well
Chelsey Houghton: Prices arent what they should be
Kelly Bassett: Very high priced for the junk they have. For one...your in flint...and 2...the stuff is all donated so the high prices are just ridiculous. Even saw dollar store items there and they had them marked at 3 dollars. Get real. Your supposed to be helping the community. Will not return. How sad.
Mary Lockett: THEY WERE SHORT OF STAFF AND HIRING. HAD A PRETTY DECENT STOCK OF ITEMS NEED WORKERS TO GET IT ON THE FLOOR PRICES ARE A BIT MUCH ON MOST ITEMS. THRIFT STORE.
Dark Carnival Network: This store has improved so much over the past month. Definitely a much more comfortable place to shop now. Especially compared to Davison. It suddenly went to hell
Jimmie Rogers: Good bargain shopping . And proceeds go for a good cause .
HappyGrateful Family: The prices here were really shocking- in a bad way. We don't live in the area but we're never given the picture that prices in this particular area should outdo anything Oakland County could fabricate, pricing wise.
Jodi Gutierrez: never leave empty handed lol
Charles Keeley: Always clean and nice people at counter
Leatrice Sprinkle: I was told today by the assistant manager at the Corunna Rd. Store that they look up all the donations on Ebay that come into the store and price them occoringli to make more money for them the employees. What happened to helping the poor, feeding the hungry, helping the addicted? The prices is so high that someone on a tight budget can't afford to shop there. This is so sad....even the baby clothes is so expensive. The Salvation Army has always been known to help needing families but not so much now . Sad!
George: Had a weight machine that had the instructions and all the pieces. Called to see if they could take it and the woman that answered said they could. Took it up there and the guy who helps take the items said they could not take it. Took it to Volunteers Of America in Burton and they accepted it and seemed to appreciate it
Brandy Bear: I’d rather throw my items in the trash, just to avoid their staff that accepts the donations. SUUUUUUPER RUDE....Staff member starts walking toward me yelling, at night time in Flint, screaming their closed at 5:45pm..I’ll donate somewhere else from now on... It’s no big deal to donate literally anywhere else..(employees there act mad your there, to give them free stuff to resale)...it’s your job bro?
Toni Wardrop: I think prices are too high and the people are very rude especially managers
Faygo Guy: Nice selection of items, could of had more registers open though
Vanessa Venner: Prices of used items were that of the same item brand new at another store or worse even more expensive! Won't be back, how shameful!!!
Sharon Carter: Love browsing there
Leona Kuhn: Prices way too high...been shopping here a long time and they are steadily rising...won't be going there again

Goodwill: what do users think?
Nahide Balkis: More donations should be made for Goodwill. Many items are cheaper and more carefully placed than Salvation Army stores. I have to say that I found it more friendly as a help team.
Valerie Rogers: They're a little high priced but I was able to find a hooded jacket I've been looking for. And some puzzles for my grandkids and I to do. The puzzles were a hit.
Budgieking: An ok thift store, cant really judge cause every visit is completely different
Shelby Allen: It's a goodwill without a ton of treasures. Always disappointed here
Terry Graham: Good selection and very friendly employees.
ItzUrParents: All one price and only weekly sales are a major bummer
Esther Hubler: Very friendly staff.
Kathy Parrish: Good place
Shalayne Schultz: Didn't have a lot of stuff there
Kelsey: They always have a great clothing selection and the coolest little things!
Beauty Inmind: I know "inflation" is crazy right now but this is getting ridiculous! I visited the FLINT location today and by God you all must be out of your mind! A USED rug for $150? A Throw pillow for $25... even a T-shirt is $5!!! I did not find a single item under $1.99...Let me remind you all this is DONATED merchandise! Let me also remind you the CEO of Goodwill, James Gibbons salary is around $598,300. I refuse to contribute to this disgusting display of pure GREED, the people of FLINT deserve better than being taken advantage of at every opportunity.
Jennifer Gutsue: Pretty clean store. Found a couple wins.
Kayden Sharick: Small store didn't have a very good variety of merchandise
Nancy Goyette: Friendly, fun to wander at. Lots of all sizes.
Chris Clark: Was ok .. not as good as it used to be
Vinia Clay: I love this store!!!
Austin King: Seeing "Nonprofit" on the search result is seriously just so disrespectful. The prices and how much help the foundations under them receive lead an easy assumption that these places make a hearty PROFIT. Shop local, let Goodwill die out. They are becoming a pawn shop and don't at all support the demographic the place was formed to be for. Some of the prices are just laughable. Having people over-pay on old electronics and Hot Wheels cars with the claim that you're helping the less fortunate is a lie and that's called exploiting.
Karen Wood: Nice store
Cheryl Fraser: Very clean
sonya hines: This place is the best. My daughter & I are getting n2 the DYI scene & going to Goodwill is the best. I just relocated & found some great items there. Bought a great Christmas tree for half the price I was going to purchase it for. I was happy!
Evan Walkling: It is what it is

Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties: what do users think?
Scott Jaynes: Free parking across the street.
Brenda Freeman: I had given up hope that my life would ever get any better. Somehow Misty and Mr. Griffin has made me have a little bit of hope after I gave up. They have a way of talking to you that makes you believe that everything will be okay. They do everything they can to keep you off the streets. I am so thankful to them. And Tina at the front desk if wonderful also. With everything I have going on right now I can't remember nothing. Like today for instance, not only did he make sure he took the time to wait on me himself when the front desk could've taken care of what I needed, I asked him the same question I did last week and he had no problem repeating the answer to me. When I apologized for it he came back with, don't worry about it that's what I'm here for. Then he said, if you have to call me every day to ask a question then you do that. Whatever makes you feel good. It was that simple statement and the way he said it that reassured me that everything is going to be okay. Misty is always on top of things. If I send her a email or call her and leave a message I never have to wait long for her to get back with me. Even when she is home sick she's always taking care of business.
Greg Stevens: Great place to get a lot of resources.
Warloxide: The owner of the warehouse John likes to yell at women. Next time he yells at my wife and cusses I'm gonna have to see him in person
Brandie Lynn: Really nice place and resourceful. Just super hard to get a hold of people that run any type of groups and or meetings. And if you need any counseling and or anything in that area dont even try it right now it's a 4 month wait !! Just a heads up
kristine dunn: Grief and Loss group is on Wednesday's from 4 to 5 pm, not on Tuesdays from 4-5 pm as the website indicates. I get good feedback from individuals that I support in regard to the value of this open group.
Santrayale Powers: Hands down a blessing from the Gods‼️ Misty is such a beautiful person and a great help. She has so many roles and she can do them all. If you need help with family needs, or assistance this is your place😊😊☺️❤️
Amie Kreh: I was able to get some things that I needed in addition I was able to donate and a very friendly young man was extremely helpful and helping me get my stuff out of the car into the drop off.
James: Said I qualify for help but they have no funding currently, Cindy very helpful, is sad Gov't won't fund them so they can do good work.
chris frost: She loves it there nice people
Traci Thompson: In desperate need of help.....my sub floor in bathroom is ready to fall through we are disabled an need help
Thomas Mack: I participated in one of their programs and the program did not work out and because of this I no longer participate in the program where they help you get your social security.
Douglas Coone: I may be biased as I do volunteer work for an affiliated organization. But truly, the staff here have the heart of Christ and the services offered are many. If you are in a situation and need som help, check here.
Seaun Campbell: The workers are putting aside the things they want before we can get it. I am not allowed to come until September because I got a purse I saw. I was told it was on the workers desk which it wasn't and that I plotted to get it. I've never been so humiliated before, I talked to Mary which is the boss and explained I just saw it and walked over and got it. Told her how her workers ALL gave me looks while I was being checked out and said nothing about it. BUT I came in today and was accused for it. She sided with the female worker. I told her it's her workers the one stealing not I AND should be reprimanded.. . So to ALL DONATERS KNOW YOUR ITEMS ARE NOT GOING TO US FIRST UNTIL THEY CHOOSE WHAT THEY WANT. AND THEY'RE BEING ALLOWED TO SO... Their job is to place donations out on the floor for us to choose what we need and want, not for them to take FIRST. It's a shame we get treated like this from a charity organization.
Eric Robinson: Very kind and giving to the needy. Thank God. May they continue in the good works.
Stacy Boone: Great people
Erica Higgins: Love to go to the clothing closet. Open from1-3pm. They only give you 20 minutes to shop, which is not enough time especially when you have a child with you.
Tina Miller: I am getting the help I need. Anyone can as long as you accept the process.
karl ball: Lots of good clothes, and friendly staff that are willing to help those in need
Rochelle Anderson: This would be a zero if I could. I spoke with two separate people, a month apart, and they were extremely rude and would not let me finish what I would be saying. The one gentleman was arguing aggressively as he answered the phone and began being rude with me. I told him he didn't have to be so rough talking to me because I have certain issues he was triggering in my medical history and he didn't care and was even ruder. The lady today would not listen fully either and I couldn't say anything. I called the program supervisor because customer service seems to be a thing of the past at Catholic Charities. I've seen amazing service here in the past but the last few years, awful people are handling some of the most sensitive clients. The two specific people I speak of need some empathy training seriously. You could seriously cause harm for those who may be one bad conversation away from the unspeakable. You two should be ashamed of yourselves!

Goodwill Outlet: what do users think?
Stephanie Thuemmel: Employees are typically friendly, good place to look for hidden treasures. I enjoy bringing My Son to explore too
Staci Mizell: I recently went here for the first time, and I walked in and got a cart from the wall and was immediately yelled at by an employee for ‘taking another persons cart’. I had a 2 year old with me, so I was not concerned with an empty cart in the wall being someone else’s. Then as I was looking through the bins, another employee yelled at me telling me I wasn’t allowed to look through them yet. The bin was not covered, and other people were looking through it.If there are random rules, please have them posted for other newcomers as I will NOT be going back to this location. If you are someone who is looking for a good thrifting experience, please check out The Volunteers of America or Daily Dealz. The employees are very friendly at both of those locations, and let you look at anything ‘new’ that they are putting out.
Michelle Demo: Haven't been able to even go in. Hours here are wrong and they're closed intermittent
Debbie S.: I had a good experience there. The Staff is pleasant. You pay$1.29 per pound. I got a few items and paid $2.73 total. Not bad.
Tony Boyd: Great place to find great deals on everyday items. From clothes and shoes to bikes, bows, and furniture. You never know what will roll out on the blue bins.
Karen Boyd: I enjoy. Shopping at the outlet. I have met some great people . The staff has always treated me kind , which makes for a Great day shopping!!
Danielle Johnson: Love ❤️
christine silverman: Its fun to look for bargains in this outlet type thrift store. Most items by the pound. You never know what you are going to find.
Chelsey Houghton: The new staff there are not polite. The prices are too high as well. Used to be a great store
Amy and family: I've been coming to the bins for years now and its so much fun...especially when my mom and I go together and we meet my sister and niece to do some shopping as a group, keeping an eye out for stuff for the other person... Yea, its crazy and hectic but thats the joy of the experience.. Digging for the next treasure... Its a resellers paradise.
Yuliya Pavlova: This is great place with wonderful employees and manager! I have enjoyed my experience at Goodwill Bins , just wish it was closer to where I live). We need another location to open in Metro-Detroit area! Livonia- Southfield??? But I will be back to Flint, again!:))
Gina Shippritt: This place is great..it's like a huge treasure hunt. I go to this one often. Today's haul was kids antique rocker and two other antique chairs. 1.50..staff is always super nice to me, plus helpful
KJ H: Many used items
Jodi Gutierrez: Absolutely love this place. You really got to dig/look but you will definitely find some amazing deals. The employees are all great.
Alexandra Zilch: Amazing experience!A few pro tips:1. Be prepared to spend the day or a big chunk of times. New bins are rotated slowly so come knowing if you want to find treasures you have to stick around.2. Bring gloves! The bins are random and there’s a good chance that there’s sharp stuff inside.3. If you want clothes - wear something you can try on over.4. If a bin is covered - don’t touch it! Wait until the sheet is removed otherwise you will get yelled at. Stand in the circle around the bin and when the sheet is removed it’s fair game!
Antonia Perry: Today was my first time at an outlet location ever and it was awful. Me and my family love thrifting and finding cool/unique things. Today was a shitshow. The place was filthy, the staff was RUDE and the other customers were animals. This guys almost straddled me to get to something in the bin in front of me - it was an unreal experience and I will never be back here again.
Pamela Smith: Very beautiful spirit people nice helpful and caring
Makayla B: Great deals, beats regular Goodwill to a pulp if you dont mind doing some dirty work. Only reason to not go is once you start going to the bins, you won't stop.
John Hutchinson: Great prices
Timothy Johnson: Way to crowded nowadays.. Also a lot more junk than prizes.. Just like everything ...all good things come to a END! 😔
Ed Haack: Found a few things

The Salvation Army Thrift Store Flint, MI: what do users think?
Haircare Lakeworth fl: Nice and clean.
maxim winner: They don't care about their customers at all. The staff also is not friendly and helpful especially so called managers. They sell broken stuff and won't let you return it when you find out it's broken. Never buy in this place.
Andrea Drescher: Lots of stuff to look through. Always find something amazing.
Brown Brown: Had what I was looking for.
Michele Care: I love this store! Fabulous music. Cool air conditioning. Sweet clothes! I always find stylish clothes here.
Janet Rauch: I love this store. Not only is 80% of my wardrobe from here, but most of the furniture in my home was purchased here. The newest find is this set of bunk bed steps I picked up for half price last week. $30 and each of step has a drawer under it. I don't own a bunk bed. I'm using it as a modified cat tree with a cushioned loft on top.

American Red Cross: what do users think?
william cole: There is always a need and it doesn't take much to help.
Hannah Gerow: We had recentl fire. Yes they help with a gift card. But when you are giving a case worker. They give you resources that don't help. I need beds a refrigerator washer dryer etc. I put my money in the new home I got. With food gas and a new baby and my disability mo.m. I have no extra cash. So they closed my case. I been doing all the foot work. Food pantries don't help no where to store food. 😒 👌 I need stuff but no body can help.
Billie Threet: Extremely Friendly and helpful
Jack Anderson: First rate organization! I volunteer drive for them. They're always looking for new volunteers.
Veronica Davis: These people are amazing, thank you
Veronica Nite-mares of hemphill Davis: These people are amazing
Lisa LAD: Beautiful, put together American Red Cross! The location, literally just off the highway, is the best!
Mark Mattingly: I am always going to donate blood every 2 months. It is annoying getting multiple calls monthly from the Red Cross on my home and mobile phone asking me to donate. I have blocked their number on my cell phone but still get the annoying calls on my home phone. Otherwise they would have gotten 5 stars for the work they do and for the people they help.
Bob Knox: Safe, efficient blood donation.
Jason Lesiewicz: Everyone who can donate blood should donate blood.
Kristen Pearless: This staff is so kind and appreciative for the contributions made.
Don heve: Nice folks but their corporate people need to do something with their horrible IT. They reservation system in order to donate is a joke.As we are the only ones Not Getting Paid for this process you would think it would be a bit easier. That said we are considering going down the street to the paid plasma center and see how that works if any differently.
Madi Kusluski: I have donated platelets and whole blood here. The staff is extremely caring and friendly. They make sure to take care of you before, during, and after the donation. This is a great place to donate and save lives.
Christopher Ariss: I love love love what these guys do for our recipients, like multiple states get platelets!!! So awesome!!!
James Benson: Very caring and professional people. I feel donating blood and platelets is a very easy way to help others. They make the experience as pleasant as possible. I will definitely keep going there.
DavenKelly Polehna: Very knowledgeable staff and friendly!
Truth Soldier: It was great to learn about how the American Red Cross is located all over the world
VRetired and Loving it: Go, give blood, you'll be treated well and you'll save lives
John Mehl: Wonderful staff
John Strawser: Very professional, fast & friendly.

Carriage Town Ministries: what do users think?
Florence Tatro: Awesome place
Debra Caryl: That people are very friendly
Daniel Crannie: The people seemed happy to be there!Staff and visitors
S Graves: I was told that I could not be there unless I gave up my car keys it's for their safety!!!! Why do someone have to to give up their keys for the staff safety? The girl Brittany could not explain but just kept saying it's for the staff safety!!!!
Hannah Lewandowski: Amazing doughnuts and coffee! It’s always fresh and a great place to meet:)
La La F: Worst experience I’ve ever had in my life. 0 stars this was my first time at a shelter the staff immediately felt like I came in with a attitude. The staff was very rude like they had a personal issue with me I work from 6pm-4:30am they kicked me out for attending work misplaced my belongings for two days confirmed they had them in laundry when I showed the next morning a lady that I never seen before greeted me at the door and said I’m not letting you in without a work note I then asked her for my belongings that they misplaced she then said you can get them but not right now until you get a work note that then put me behind on sleep causing me to miss out on sleep for my next shift slept in my car 4hrs I still never received a call when Brittany showed up I still don’t have my belongings I didn’t no where I was supposed to shower or anything co workers were ghetto climbing over front check in desk kids running around everywhere yelling I made a request for a coat and the director went straight to what I make and replied you can get your own coat I have low tolerance for hypocrites I would like my belongings if anything I can’t help if they want you in at 6pm and I work in Pontiac at Amazon 6pm-4:30am that’s discrimination wasted my gas drove to flint where you am a resident to be locked outside in the cold to jeopardize my job and rest I’m constantly calling this place every day, trying to get a hold of Delphene, who put my things away. No response and Brittany the administrator isn’t doing much to help. In the process of filing a complaint against this place. I’ve been calling for 3weeks now and I’m really getting upset
Nikko Hill: These people are from GOD, me and my son will never forget ,what carriage town did for us when we were homeless and hungry.Thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️
J and B: Such an amazing organization that does so much for the community! We had the pleasure of bringing lunch in for the team for Christmas! It was great to be able to do this and see what they do! Thank you for everything you do!
Tim Hodge: Wonderful place that helps people in need & equip them with life skills to be successful and learn about faith & unconditional love ❤️ makes our hearts happy to help
Jason Richardson: Just left today and they were very helpful when was there
Karen Knapp: Nice too many people at a time long waits for meds
Camille Turner: Helpful and they provide access to resources that help you get on your feet if you are serious. Very structured.
aaron morris: Fine people doing Gods work.
Milton Mills: I've been a member of the homeless community for four years coming up in May. My association with Journey Ministry in Davison, My Brothers Keeper at the river, and Carriage Town Ministries has been a life saver. Holy Angels warming center and box lunches, the list goes on....
Ashlie Crozier: Did you know that 80% of their funding comes from the community. I've been volunteering on and off for them since 2018. Currently they are the only homeless shelter in Flint that will take covid patients in. The setup is first class and covid patients are separated from healthy ones who are also separated from those quarantining without symptoms. Consider their BlueLine Donuts. The Donuts are fantastic and a great way to give to one of the best charities in Flint. Currently along with serving dinner to the residence they prepare to go boxes for people on the streets that are not living they're at the moment people simply come to the door and get their dinner. I can't say enough good things about what they do. Completely faith-based
Michelle Fisher: You can live here but you must apply by the rules and regulations..
Brittany Nuckolls: I was told they don't accept homeless people in wheel chairs. They is awful the homeless people in wheel chairs need shelter the most. I was left outside in the rain unable to go because I can't roll myself down the side walk or street on a wheel chair.
S R: An Amazingly wonderful organization. Truly helped me so much to get on my feet. When I was at my lowest point. And they continue to grow in faith helping more men, women and families than ever. I look forward to the blessed privilege of becoming a volunteer for them in the near future.
No friends Watch please: Not enough air conditioning homeless shelter
Melinda Turner: Yes place is very clean, but it’s more like a boot camp or cult for the homeless. Very rude and they make sure you know they are better than you. Ms. Brittany was great. Other than that me and my kids will sleep in a car before staying at this place any longer! 0 stars if I could! All I can say is good luck!
Goldenchild Simmons: This place was beautiful I felt safe n sound beds were clean and comfy the whole entire place is spic n span this is the most beautiful shelter I’ve seen in flint the staff are sweet and understanding and the programs gives you enough time to get on your feet they have great meals n beautiful church sessions this is the greatest shelter ever
