Genesee-Otter Lake Campgrounds: what do users think?
nathan tribbey: We love this campgroundRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Brandy and Monkey Ozzy K: ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Amazing activities for kids EVERY WEEKEND!!!Safety: Everyone watches out for everyone’s kids and animals. It’s a wonderful place.!Walkability: GreatFood & drinks: Great food at the store, and their pizza is to die for!Noteworthy details: Everything about this place is beautiful and everyone is amazing that camp there and that run the place!
Amanda Hall: Dirty. Unkempt. Money does NOT go back into the property.
Squish Squish: It was disgusting, there was bugs all over the shower, dead ones included. Mold growing everywhere. The "game room" smelled of mildew. The camping spots are too close together. The late was filthy, there were bits of glass, trash and other debris in the dark green water. I don't plan on bringing family or friends, you'd have a better experience at Covenant hills or Wolverine..
Ray Wilt: Camped their two weekends in a row had a enjoyable time there
Michelle: This is our second go with the camp ground absolutely loved it the first time. The only bummer is we didn't get the same spot because they changed it to a seasonal spot.
Angela Wellman: Camped here a few times a few years ago and we loved it, but this year it really sucked we stayed a week had a rocky camp site, people were rude the girls in the store acted like they didn't know what to do, and the day before we left we left for a couple hours and when we got back they had pulled our camper off the site because they had someone coming in to that lot oh and did I batch they didn't want to refund for that day they said it was a employer mistake I botched until they refunded my money I won't go there again
That One Gal: Nice fun place
steven anton: Great family camping had a great fireworks show
Angela Prill: First time camping here for the Fourth of July weekend and we were impressed! The staff was amazing, the campground was very clean, and had a lot of activities all weekend long. The beach was great and my kids had a great time fishing off the dock too. We will definitely be back!
Tgross: Friendly as helpful staff. Nice peaceful campground with lots of things to do.
Tommy Carroll: I was more into camping at primitive state parks in the past. I didn't think I'd like the thought of camping in such a big place but since my girlfriend, son, and I have been staying here it has been a very pleasant experience! My son loves all the activities, the owners have always been very helpful, and its very up kept and clean. I highly recommend if you can get a spot here that you do.
Jane Dyer-Parrott: Camped here for years, loved it!!!
Lee: Nice, friendly campground.
Kathy Anton: First time here will have to see further into the season to really judge it but looks good so far
C F: PAY ATTENTION TO THE FINAL PRICE, it won't tell you about the additional charges or what they're for.I was told on the phone I HAD to go online to purchase for my groups and to avoid each being charged a fee, I'd have to do it in 1 transaction. When I went to book online, there is no group booking! After 3 weeks of messages, I was told there are NO group bookings, you just note in the comments and there IS a fee PER SITE and each IS A SEPARATE TRANSACTION!Booking online individually, the price is different at check out, than the price listed, but it doesn't indicate there's additional charges or what it's for and it fluctuated each time I tried, so I called to ask. The lady just guessed; "it could be a marketplace fee, a processing fee, a credit card fee, an owner fee" but didn't know because it's Rover charging it and she seemed upset with me. She said maybe the fee is different depending on the amount (I assume she means a percentage). I apologized if I was bothering her, but I'd waited patiently for 3 weeks to find out everything I was told is inaccurate and now, had been on the phone for 10 minutes while she guessed the fees. She said "THEN THIS PROBABLY ISN'T THE PLACE FOR YOU."I told her I'd share my experience and it wouldn't be the place for our groups any longer. The woman called back and told me her internet worked and she could look into fees if that's what I needed. My group is no longer interested.Last summer a cat harassed our group all night, begged for food and ended up putting a hole in one of the groups tents! I felt bad, so we mentioned it to them at checkout but nothing came from it. Now costs have risen and there are hidden fees and they can't tell me what its for or how much, I'm over it!

Covenant Hills Camp & Retreat: what do users think?
Samantha Filek: they associate themselves with midcourse correction, therefore I give them the lowest amount of stars.
Leigh Damaske: What a great place for a retreat. Clean, comfortable, and a great atmosphere.
Katherine Cole: Cabins could use some updates. Better lighting throughout campground
Kristamarie Koopman: Halloween weekends are awesome. Finally get trick or treaters.
Sammy Coleman: Absolutely beautiful place. Very Best Campground for a wonderful Women's retreat.
Ray Markey: The facility is beautiful, the people are great. Lots to do and see. The hiking trails were maintained pretty well. I was a little bummed the coolest things to do ( rock wall, high adventure course, blob jump, zip lines, boat rentals ) all had very limited times they were made available throughout the weekend. I get it, staffing sucks right now, but man this place could be something really special if it was fully staffed.
Tracy Harris: Playground: Playground equipment is maitaned nothing broken for the little tots to get hurt on, play ground is clean , no bottles or garbage laying around
Liz Solanki: The retreat center was great (although was raining that weekend)! There's plenty of space to walk, have fellowship. The cabins were very clean and spacious. There are plenty of spots for bonfires as well! The only reason I dropped a star is because I came across a little racism from a lady who DIDN'T work there - It's just that she was permitted in a place where the message of Christ should be the focus. She was in the Cove, with her dog. I went in by myself to get a few scoops of ice cream for my triplets. She was sitting right by the door; her dog snarled and barked soon as I walked in. I was like "Oh my gosh, and laughed" hoping she would laugh and say it's fine. Instead she had a very rude expression, held her dog back a little and said "You may proceed." Then while I was being served by the very sweet girl at the counter, she sent a girl who could've been her grand daughter to get a cup. She interrupted the girl at the counter while she was serving me. But the girl was kind enough to say that she will give the cup once she was done serving the customer. And the same thing, on my way out, the dog started snarling and barking and she barely held it back; and again "You may proceed." I practically ran outta there. LOL. But yeah that definitely hurt. Just wanted to have a nice relaxing time with my family and church. I'm sure there are others who came across this same lady and her dog, since we're an Indian church.
Bethany Lukins: Loved our weekend here
Bill Helm: Great family environment
Dann Vessell: A nice place to get to know your church family and camping.
Shawn Hanselman: Our child enjoyed a week of band camp. They took great care of all the children. Also they fed them very generously!!
Andrew Alkire: Fun campground with a lot of activities.
Justin Marketti: We have been coming here for the last 8 years and it seems like it's going downhill now bathrooms are dirty nothing in their Camp store for sale they took half the stuff out and now they are letting the run down trailers in with junk all around.
Lisa R: First of all, you have to drive half a mile down a gravel road and your entire vehicle(s) and the clean engine bays get all coated, then the entire park is gravel road, makes a lot of work to get your vehicle back to the state it was in before that half a mile! It's not worth the $20 from Passport America. You're crammed in like sardines and the spots are so close, watch out for campfires, the ashes will burn your car or RV! The only positive was that my son was able to play with kids and make a good friend.
Rhonda Allor: Great place to camp for sure😎🙂😁!
Detroit_ii Det: Super upset. Second time here and we enjoy snorkeling. Was told the first time that it is fine to snorkel anywhere so we did. Today my wife was snorkeling and a staff worker yelled from about 50-75 feet away that she can’t snorkel. No where in the rules is there anything about where you can and where you can’t snorkel. Never again will we return here.
Don King: I like every much I to come out again
RF D: We reserved a site for a three month stay. We where placed in a seasonal site and charged the seasonal rate with the verbal understanding that this was less expensive and a refund would be given when we check out, we had to leave earlier than expected and only stayed one month. We where told at that time no refund was going to be issued as verbally promised. VERY UNCHRISTIAN thing to do to customers.
Debbie Parker: Beautiful place. Great friendly staff.
Sandra Christensen: Reasonable camping. Great staff. Clean, level sites, lake, easy access

Dunham's Sports: what do users think?
Alanna Riggio: This place has me in delay for my firearm more than 72 hours and I am having a safety issue. I'm getting my money back and going somewhere else. Very disappointing!!!
Owen Phillip: Very helpful and pleasant staff.
Jason Swanson: The staff was very friendly and helpful unlike the same store 20 minutes west.
Bill Fischer: Bought a new elliptical
David P: The lady there help me with shoes for my son. Measured his foot and help me with picking them out.
Jermaine Guerrero: Nice store but I feel the store is only geared towards people who are average size. Need to add a big and tall section to accommodate people of all sizes. Can't remember the last time I spent money here.
Rena Jones: Not friendly at all. Rude customer service.
Douglas Coone: Large selection, good prices.
Sue Neuer: Large selection good prices
Rebecca Metcalf: The staff went above and beyond to accommodate me. Like so many places in Flint and Genesee County, customer service is their passion. I'd like to see plus sizes, and women's Carhart coats here in the future. :)
William Eddy: Was actually surprised there was a long line and thankfully they opened a second lane. Got what I needed in and out.
K: I got some GREAT buys out of clearance area in the back!! :D
Jeff: Regardless of deals seem to have a decent selection . Got a pair of boots for work $30.00.. this was a steal . Boxing bag with gloves & wraps. 70 bucks with clearance . I love this place .If want the best deal sign up for club you get constance deals discounts & flash sales. They are worth their weight when it comes to savings💯
Walt: Decent selection and friendly staff. Hard to find these days...
Amy Yarmuth: We stopped at this location looking for a football girdle and found exactly what we needed (even though football season had already started) and as an added bonus, it was even on sale! The staff was very nice and friendly too. We'll definitely make this trip to this location again.
Mario Barajss: Couldn't find anyone to help. Low inventory
john k.: Very nice sporting and camping goods store.Lots of clothing and equipment for so many sports.Tons of camping equipment to help handle any situation.customer service very helpful.
Peggy Hodge: People that work there are very friendly and helpful.
Robert Neal: Nice
Kenda Olmstead: I love their inventory of clothing and my husband loves the inventory of Yeti items.
Tactical Bacon: This is like the story, "The little Engine that could"...sort of. This store is too big with too little employees. The 4 employees that actually do come in and work hard are doing all they can, but need to cover shifts and responsibilities of 10 other employees who are not there. Not because they didn't show up, or had the day off, just because this store only has 4 employees. Customers get upset, saying, " you need to tell more people to come in and work!" When all the while, I'm sure the employees just want to say, " We'll, this is all we have! We can bring people in to work who aren't employed to work. And no one wants employment anywhere, but they want money and they want to complain when you aren't working. Or doing all you can with what you have (left).

Hide Away Park Campground: what do users think?
Susan Hoffman: The GPS took us over 6 miles of dirt road to get to this campground. The park, if crowded, will be campers back to back and packed in like sardines. Water may be across another person's site. But the surroundings are beautiful.
Kris Frederick: I grew up camping here with Brian Laux and are families made this a tradition, usually 2 to 3 times a year. And still to this day decades later when we can. Some of the best memories of my life were made here, I promise some of yours will be too. From being kids and fishing, sitting around the campfire, listening to jokes and stories and playing horseshoes. Then bringing kids and new friends to do it all again. Lovely place to get away from everything else
Taylor Giles: The price is quite reasonable and the place is really quiet at night.
Christalyn: Great quiet place for people who like to enjoy nature, fishing, kayaking. Not geared for partiers or kids, plenty of other places for that.
Charleen Bradley: Campground is quiet and kept clean!! People in office is so nice to us when we come to camp or boat usage!! Been coming for 2 years now and will definatley be back next yr and more to come!!
stephanie byrd: My husband grew up at this campground. I will admit, I don’t like camping at all. I still don’t like camping, but if I was going to camp I wouldn’t go anywhere else. If you want a place to swim, this is not it. It is a wonderful place to go kayaking and fishing however. If you want a place that is jammed pack with party animals, this is not it. But, if you want a little slice of serenity, this is the place! If you want a peaceful atmosphere, this place is for you. The sunsets can be absolutely gorgeous with the view from our favorite spot on the hill. We’ve had professional family pictures taken there. My son had his Senior pictures taken there. If you want to be treated like family that visits from out of town, boy oh boy Lynnie has that down pat. Hide Away Park has made the best everlasting memories for three generations in our family now. Both of my kids love camping. They are all grown up now and I would expect they will be returning with their family some day.
Evelyn Hammer: Right next to a fertilizer company lots of worms and mites. They make up reasons to kick you out. She thought she really impacted my life and made fun of me for having to find a new place... I bought a home! Not next to livestock. Enjoy your power lady, you'll be gone soon.
Em Rodger: Worst place to stay will NEVER STAY AGAIN owner lady is mean and nasty calls you names and thinks it's ok they don't tell u where to set up they just yell at u and make u move and if ur dog barks they yell if u try to play with them and keep them happy u get threatened to be kicked out. Bathrooms are full of mold I have hospital reports about how I got sick bc the mold worst place to stay don't matter what the price is don't pay money for them to be mean and nasty to u
Shelly Alexander: Quiet place and dark at night. water can't swim in must have a boat or kayak they rent them .. people who stay all season not to friendly.lady was very nice and accommodating to our situation.
susan “Donnell” masak: Very nice local camping 👍
Monica Seiders: I loved it here!!! It is relaxing and peaceful! The owners are very nice and helpful!
Cindy Schofield: This place has no swimming and no internet! Nothing to do for your kids! The water around the campground is polluted by run off from farms in the area! Can’t put an outdoor rug down unless it is 3x5. Only 1 car on your lot at all times! Dead trees all over the campground! I had one fall on my camper and her response was have your insurance company pay for the repairs! First and foremost it is their responsibility to keep their ground’s free of dead tree’s! It’s not an act of nature! Who has to pay the deductible on the insurance company? Oh yes I do!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone!!!! The only good thing was I met some nice camper’s while I was there! Good luck!
Stephanie and Seth: When writing my campground reviews I always ask myself, "Would I go again?"Let's start with the good. The lady who owns it was super nice. From when I called to book it to when we checked in she was very friendly. I spent a good half hour talking to her the one day. She is very down to earth. The lake is pretty and peaceful. The grounds all around the campground were well kept and clean of trash and debris. On the side where the 15amp (mostly tents and pop ups) was gorgeous. Lots of trees and just very peaceful. There is a pavilion that I used to do my workouts in. It was enclosed so offered me privacy while my husband sat on the deck and read.Overall the park was quiet at night which we always appreciate. Now for the reasons I won't go back. The RV side was small and compact. Four roads running parallel. We were on one of the middle ones. On the last road which sat at the end of the park was what I can only assume a trailer park that was grandfathered in or stayed when they decided to make this a campground. They were all old single wide trailers. The yards were kept up but still... I don't go camping to go to a trailer park. On the first road was what I called "Storage alley". Old campers (one looked like it had been wrecked) and uhauls were stored there. Again, I don't go camping to look at a storage facility. So in this case we were smack dab in the middle of these eyesores. While the sites were fairly level and lots of shade they were mostly pretty narrow spaces (we were in D26) and if a camper would have been in D27 they would have been mere feet from our canopy. Thankfully no one was there. This row of lots are also pretty deep. Fire pits are small. The wood they sold was inexpensive and dry but some were too long to fit inside the firepit. Most of the people were super friendly as we find that pretty much everywhere. Lots of noisy dogs and old loud trucks pulling old trailers. One guy was backing out of his site in his little pick up truck (pretty sure he was drunk) and ran smack dab into a tree. Sorry but that gave us quite a laugh when his girlfriend realized that he couldn't drive and she got in the driver seat. When he got out, he looked at the damage and shrugged his shoulders. This was actually the first time I was compelled to lock up all of our stuff at night including locking our outdoor compartments. Also if you are looking for a place that has stuff to do this probably isn't the best pick. No pool, no rec center, camp store had little in it to purchase (Northshore party store is less than 10 mins away though) and really just not much for kids to do. The lake as I understand it doesn't allow swimming. My son said it's absolutely his kind of place lol but for me and my husband it wasn't our cup of tea.
Hailey W: tried calling about camping over the weekend and the lady seemed to be in a rush with a tone in her voice then proceeded to just hang up after saying nope i got no room.
Sherry Clark: Beware!!!!Rude staff/ownerMy tent was broken into with stuff stolen with urine found in bags and on bed.Police report filed and owner did nothing.THIS IS NOT a family environment!Beyond creepy
Katie: The rudest staff I have ever encountered. Would never stay here again due to that it ruined our camping trip. They were rude to our family members and came around at ridiculous hours of the night to complain about something. For example, they came around ( on our 3rd day f already being there) to tell us they do not allow outdoor rugs on the ground. I have been camping my whole life have always had an outdoor rug and never had an issue. We like to put it out now due to our kids and not wanting them to walk in the dirt and track it in our camper. Also we have a baby who is just starting to walk so we don’t like for him to fall on the ground and would rather him walk on the outdoor rug but outdoor rugs are not allowed here apparently under any circumstances. We have many other stories about the rude staff but I have never had an experience like this.
john brackney: Looks beautiful, I am a local resident so I have never camped here. With that said driving through it looks amazing and would have been a campground I would choose.
Charles O'Bryan: Peaceful and nice
Bianca Bregand: Beautiful small campground with gorgeous places to kayak and hike. Will definitely be going back. Gorgeous and serene
James Hylman: Nice quiet campground! Truly is hidden away and a great place to spend a weekend or the whole season.
Renay Jones: Fun!!
