The Old Goat: what do users think?
Dave Boller: Our first time at this fine eatery ... were seated upstairs & Gavin (our server) was very attentive without being intrusive, offering excellent guidance on the choices & food options. The food distracted me from taking pictures ... it was THAT good!
Elizabeth Flores: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Justin Evans: Had the Brisket Sandwich this last time, and the coleslaw was really overpowering. After trying the Brisket alone, easy to see why since there was no flavor. Overall loved the experience from previous visits.Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
GG Taruc: Went there for Mother's Day. Wait was not long and host was nice. We sat outside at first but asked to move inside as it was still a bit chilly. Ordered the brisket and Reuben sandwich. They were ok. Not enough meat and both were chewy. Looked impressive bc of the huge pretzel bun but both were not that good. The lobster bisque was good however. Service was so-so. Server seemed stressed out. Haven't been here for a while and don't think we'll be coming back soon.Parking: Parking lot behind restaurant.
Lacey Hutchinson: Always the best place to eat in town! The music is fantastic, sometimes it's live jazz or bluegrass, and the food is a variety, and actually well thought out as a menu. And the staff is always so friendly! Even the people in the kitchen. Lovely place to go to if you're ever in GR!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Lisa Kopanakis: Great service. Excellent food! Fun vibe atmosphere.
Meagan: This restaurant has consistently excellent food, friendly service, and a fun atmosphere. We also love the live music! The pretzels and cheese sauce are a favorite, as is the brisket sandwich.
PJ Carroll: Competent and quirky, but overrated.

Madeleine Snella: Food was excellent! Took my dog and sat on the patio, they gave him water and a dog treat. Got the pretzel, cheese sauce was delicious and the pretzel was so fresh. I got the salad, also super fresh with delicious dressing and excellent chicken. My brother got the pizza and loved it, looked great. My dad got the brisket sandwich and said he would absolutely get it again. Prices were reasonable, staff was amazing, food was delicious, and il definitely coming back!

Ingo Kuhl: Das war mal eine richtige Überraschung- das brisket Sandwich war lecker und auch wenn das IPA Bier aussah wie Apfelsaft war auch das mega lecker
Eric Kerkstra: The food was very high priced. The goats all over the wall did nothing for me. Seats are very uncomfortable.Food: 1/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More
Mark Faur: Good place, great beer (it’s Grand Rapids). The pizza is good and sandwiches are amazing. The Jambalaya was interesting, not bad but definitely not a jambalaya, a menu name change would make the dish amazing…if it that makes any sense :)Recommended dishes Nashville Chicken Sandwich, Jambalaya …More
Cynthia Ha: Super cool vibe in this place, even right at lunchtime. They were incredibly busy, but still kept the pace. Our server Gavin was superb and patient with all patrons at his tables. Food was delicious and correct temperature. The Lobster Bisque was masterfully created with a good combination of herbs. I'd go back again, but not at lunch time.

There was no wait for the covered patio later in the evening and the atmosphere & service were great (I think the inside is a little too bright). CC: Soo good! I’ve been here countless times and it never disappoints. Pricey but consistently great quality food and large portions. The only thing I’ve ever gotten that I did not like is the chicken strips (chewy and tough for $18). Everything else, including the service, is 10/10.Update: Green Well is always excellent. Pictured: Michigan turkey sandwich (personal fav) and Pierogis (seasonal), tacos (Thursdays only)Second Update: I’m a bit disappointed to say I think the quality and service has declined a touch. The last two times we went out food was good but not great, which makes it hard to justify the price. I ordered a medium-well burger and it was pretty raw, I couldn’t eat it. The service was also slow. We often get the curry with chicken, but now priced at $27 it’s just too steep for what it is. I’ll still be back, but will probably reserve this place for happy hour and lunch only.
Gary Morris: We ended up going there by mistake, never knew it was even there. Party of six everyone commented how fabulous the food was, wait was minor, wait staff was right on. Definitely will be returning. By far the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. Two people at our party ordered the Cuban and loved.

EA RE: Huge kudos to management as they were gracious to seat our larger party with no notice. This enabled.our celebratory dinner to go on and be enjoyed by all. Food was unique and fabulous. Bartender and waitstaff were amazing. Menu catered to gluten free and vegetarian needs with gusto. Five stars hardly seems adequate!

Kara Yargeau: Each and every thing we tried was amazingg. The Mac n cheese, the burgers, the Cubano, the fries, the beer on tap.. 👌We are from out of town. So glad we came, and so sad there aren't any others closer to home. Our kids had great options for a great price and the atmosphere was fine with them in it. Will definitely keep on our list to visit again when in the area.

Stacy Roelofs: Visited with my sister on a Saturday night and hit it around 6:45pm. We had a wait of about 45ish minutes, not to bad for a hot spot in town. The inside has a dark and cozy vibe. I got the adult root beer float (technically on their dessert menu) as my drink and I’m so glad I did! We split the Bacon Mac Egg Rolls for our app and boy it was spicier than we expected. Definitely recommend ordering regular ranch instead of the chipotle ranch if you’re not one for spice 😁. But the Mac on the inside was delicious as well.We split a weekly feature as our meal which was their Al Fresco Gnocchi. It was our reason for the visit actually as my sister had never tried gnocchi before. This was the perfect first plate for her to try it. It was so good and we both loved it.We would 10/10 recommend coming for the food and we plan to visit again real soon!!
gratefulanna: Wow maybe you should post you are only open till 3pm ON MOTHERS Day! When your web site says 8pm on Sunday’s ! Never giving this place a try when you can’t communicate simple directions! I would have given you -5 stars . Thanks for nothing.

Casey Cannady: --- 05/10/2023 ---Was so good... had to try again. Got the balsamic Brussel sprouts appetizer. While it was cooked well, it was more reminiscent of a German hot slaw, which just isn't my preference. The Steakhouse burger and Social fries were freaking amazing. I'm a pretty decent cook, so I appreciate the attention to details that can make or break an entrée. The WS steakhouse burger is tied with The Capital Grille's off-menu bar burger... which is high praise! My wife got the chicken roulade, which looked really good too!Clearly restaurant owners who understand that good service, upscale casual atmosphere, great food and fair prices is the magic to being successful. Keep up the great work.--- 05/07/2023 ---Oh man... where to begin... the short rib nachos... I couldn't stop eating them! Their homemade chips weren't oily and didn't get soggy from the mountain of toppings. Our server (Michelle) was really friendly and did a good job taking care of us.For our entrees, the wife got the pesto chicken sandwich and I got their take on the Cubano. While both were amazing sandwiches, their take on the Cubano was better than what I've had at very famous Cuban restaurants in Miami! We will be going back soon to try more menu items... when you go, make sure you're really hungry! 🤩
Ben Myslenski: Really great cocktails but felt like the seasoning on some of the food was lacking. Chicken and waffles were pretty good but could have used more flavor on the chicken. I’d give a solid 3.5 stars service was excellent.Kid-friendliness: Great kids menuParking: Lots of parking

Our server even gave us some pointers on things to see in the area!Hubby and I split the nachos, which were fantastic. Couldn't stop ourselves from finishing them and almost couldn't eat our entrees! Hubby had a Cubano and I had the pesto chicken sandwich. Both were delicious and we couldn't finish them, so we enjoyed them again for dinner! We'll definitely be back
Tristan VanDyken: This is definitely our favorite restaurant. Amazing food and amazing atmosphere. Jake is by far our favorite waiter.
Cynthia Hansen Ellis: We were blessed with an amazing waiter. Loved the food, and peach clobbler was enough for 4 of us. It's worth every bit.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
K: Visited after work and the place was extremely busy. We sat on the porch and it was extremely loud. May have been short staffed because the server was running all over the place, so it took a while to get our drinks and food. Cade Snuffer: will always review restaurants with no unique qualities badly. Winchester offers the same experience that every single other restaurant offers: burgers and sandwiches. If you're lucky you'll find some unique appetizers or something, but the Winchester seems to be a collection of some of the most common GR tropes.I don't understand how people in this city can go out to 15 different restaurants and order the same burger at each and not feel cheated

Nathan Ver Beek: Only came for drinks so we didn't get to experience the food. Nice large outdoor space to sit. Service was on the slow side, but that's what we were in the mood for anyway. Good experience overall.Update: Finally got a chance to try the food. Not great, not bad, worth a try. The Brussels are decent, and the French dip was flavorful but a bit small. The atmosphere is great, certainly will return and try some other dishes. The happy hour mule is good for the price.Consistent with my original review, service was pretty slow, but not terribly.
Rachel M: This restaurant does fish and chips and brussels sprouts really well. Their other food however is not good. I have given them a few chances as their servers are friendly and attentive, but it’s not worth it. My latest visit I had a salad with chicken drier than cardboard and lettuce swimming in dressing and extremely stale chips at the visit before that. There are much better restaurants in the area to dine at.

A. T.: I ordered a burger with fries for takeout. Ordering online was simple; your can order ahead of time/schedule pickup. The burger was yummy, but not the best burger I had in GR. I didn't enjoy how the burger slid off on my second bite. The fries had a spice seasoning I haven't tried before, I liked them and leftovers toddler approved.Parking: Limited off street parking

Linear Restaurant: what do users think?
Dan Holmes: If you want a date spot in the Belknap neighborhood, or anywhere within 3 miles of downtown Grand Rapids, you can't do any better than Linear. What do you get here? Amazing food and good service, and a generous pouring of your favorite drink. You won't break your wallet, either.Has seating outside near the Grand River, which is very nice.
Lee Latella: Our experience was very poor. Loud, very limited menu, bartender taking so many shots with the bar, waited 35 minutes for a cold partial waffle and chicken. 1/5 will not be back, the rest of my party was disappointed.

Theresann Pyrett: We enjoyed a girls' night on the patio and the food and drinks were amazing! Dessert was our favorite and the cocktails were great too! Coffee at the end was delicious :)Sounds odd but the bathroom smelled so good! Only downside is parking, but we found some scooters close by that made it fun!Parking: We wend on a Wednesday night at 6pm and could not find parking within the half mile, but it was also a 70 degree day in spring
B Wilhelm: Would love to have water served to be filteredFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Wagyu Flank Steak …More
Mike Ahrendt: Food was pretty good all around. The soup we ordered was a disappointment, however the rest of the food was lovely. The service was pretty good all around, but nothing special. The noise of the restaurant and jammed together seats make this place very hard to hear or have a decent conversation in - which was disappointing. This restaurant is really leaning on its beautiful location in the city.
Jesse: I can't wait to go back to this place. My partner and I were looking for something "millenial fancy"- nice but not stuck up or wildly unaffordable. This place was amazing, great vibes, service, and the food was SO good. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Cheryl Poole: Linear is always my first choice for a holiday or my birthday.
Alison A: Came here for dinner a few weeks ago. It was so nice to sit out by the water, great location. For our appetizer we got the meatballs and they weren’t our favorite, they have a uniquely sweet flavor. Our entrees were both delicious though, the swordfish & the steak but, the veggies with the steak were a bit undercooked. Drinks were great & we had a fabulous waitress.
Nick Davis: Amazing bourbon line, and the fish n chips were some of the best I've had.
heather Rayburn: Called ahead and rest our interest in doing a walk-in today which we were told that was absolutely available and that they did their best not to turn away anybody when we arrived at the restaurant it opening time The gentleman in charge dismissive of the head hostess said they absolutely do not do walk-ins and they would not even put us on a waiting list of any kind unacceptable for the amount of drive time that we took to come to this restaurant
Jonathan Tasman: Dessert lackluster. We tried the mocha cake and the seasonal creme brulee (April 2023).The mocha cake was over powered by the espresso flavor. With an after taste of bitterness, mixed with cake that was dry and soggy. Lastly the cake was cemented in a weird geletan, making it difficult to eat.The creme brulee was not mixed with the liquor correctly and was gritty like sand. Mix that with the pea sea glass it was better on paper.I appreciate the attempt at new flavors. However the execution, plating and the flavors left me disappointed.
Eliezer Yeong: We ordered cocktails and the octopus as an hors d'oeuvre. The octopus was not very good compared to MDRD. It was not cooked well. It was not tender and had a gooey texture in some spots. It was also very small compared to MDRD, MDRD usually has 2 tentacles, Linear only has 1 small one.Food: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Kate McClearen: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Ginger-Miso Pork Meatballs, Wagyu Flank SteakMore
Lori Martin: Great food.! I had the chicken salad sandwich. Service was friendly and fast.
Explore With Steggie: Am I in Grand Rapids or have I been transported to Toronto or Atlanta, or some other cool city? This place has it all. It's in an old building but the atmosphere is contemporary. I can't wait for summer when I'll be able to dine al fresco, along the river. The service was impeccable; appropriately attentive and unrushed. The cocktails were classic and creative. I had the Black Manhattan which is always a favorite. The wine selection is special and surprisingly affordable. We ordered a nice bottle of red blend from California. For an appetizer we had samosas which were delicious and vegan. I had the salmon, with fingerling potatoes and was perfectly done. Hubby had the Wagyu Steak which he described as tender and paired with root vegetables. I am anxious for an excuse to go back.

Titus Shaffer: I've eaten here a handful of times now. They've been great every meal. Their chicken and waffles are outstanding. Only gripe is no mashed or baked potato which seems to me necessity for a place with excellent fried chicken but they have excellent grits so it's a meaningless critique unless potato is a must have for you, if so their crispy french fries should do it. As good as their food is fear not. You will find something wonderful. Book them on Open Table with confidence which during the weekend is necessary because with good food comes people and wait times.
Gururoop Singh: Some of the best food I’ve had in a while Mac and cheese needed more seasoning but nothing salt and pepper couldn’t fix
Ron Pawloski: I absolutely loved this place..Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Megan Nicholas: I rarely leave negative reviews, but this visit warrants one. We were celebrating the anniversary of our engagement at a place we had heard great things about and that is down the street from our venue. We made a reservation for over an hour and a half before our Broadway show and the food took an hour and a half to come out, despite them knowing we were going to the show, making us late for our $200 show. They almost did not let is in.After spending over an hour hearing “five or ten more minutes,” everything about our order was wrong (wrong food delivered), we had to take it to go and didn’t get to eat (leaving us hungry during the long show), and it went bad in the warm car during our 2.5 hour show + hour drive home.We were told by the sympathetic server that they felt terrible and would be comping our meals and to have a nice night. We thanked them profusely because this was the right thing to do on their behalf. However, upon leaving, I made the mistake of thanking them once again and they told me they had my check. They only comped us for 20% of the meal that we did not get to enjoy and still had to pay the majority cost of the already pricey meal. We did not have time to argue since the show was starting and we had already splurged on good seats. We will not be coming back and have told our friends in the area that this was the worst date night we have experienced in our 7 years together.

Danielle Welch: Service was great but selection limited and over priced.
Samuel Schubkegel: Food feels slightly overpriced for what you get. Also, I ordered a waffle that was supposed to be stuffed with macaroni, and it was definitely a waffle sitting on top of macaroni. Not a big deal, just funny because the menu said that it was stuffed.Food overall is good but not as exciting as the vibe that this place gives off.Atmosphere is stellar. Feels clean, upscale and comfortable. Every time I’ve been, lunch or dinner, they’ve had availability.I live in Grand Rapids and find myself going here once or twice a year. Review may change over time.I’m rooting for this place! I love the style of food and the ambiance. Just need the price and flavor to pick up some slack and I’ll be fully on board.
Aris Tasz gipson: Only reason its not 5 starsNot sensory friendly (Very loud, speakers everywhere) very overwhelming environment.Love the foodGreat service

samantha henderson: Have been to the restaurant 4 times now and each time our server isn't super attentive. Most of what I have ordered has been good, just wish the service matched.
Jackson Brooks: Fantastic! My wife and I came for an anniversary dinner on our last night visiting grand rapids and loved it! I got the pork, grits and greens, and my wife got shrimp and grits. It was the best food we had on our trip, the atmosphere was great, and our server was attentive and friendly. Also, our view of biscuits will never be the same, they were to die for! Definitely recommend
Luis Cruz: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Sriracha Chicken and Waffles, Country Chicken and WafflesMore
Annette Jackson: Hmmm, I'll have to try it again, wasn't very impressed 😐
Kash Money: Only thing I liked was the biscuits given in the beginning. Everything else was cold, Mac n cheese was dry as the desert 🏜️. Not worth the hype at all.Parking: Hard to find or you have to pay

Josh Schaeffer: Had to drop a friend at GRR for a very early flight so we figured why not grab breakfast after and my goodness! This place did NOT disappoint! We obviously had to try the Anna’s Roll and it was ALOT bigger than expected. We took about half home. If you got a group of 4 it’s perfect.I had the hangover omelet and my fiancée had the hangover skillet and both we absolutely wonderful. We were able to sub French toast for her and it was delicious! I had a biscuit with a side of sausage gravy. Very good but a bit peppery.Last but certainly not least is the orange juice. It had a great flavor but I do wish it wasn’t so foamy. My glass was majority of just foam and for the price I do feel like it could have been a better texture since it was fresh juice.

Forty Acres Soul Kitchen | Cognac Bar: what do users think?
JT Stokes: Awesome dining experience! From the greetings as we walked in the door, to servers' smiles and helpfulness! And the food!! Cinimod Groption: VEGAN REVIEWTIME EXPRESSI had been excited to try this place for a while but it turned out devastating. First, let’s start with what was good! The music was groovy and the design inside of the restaurant was great. Also, the strawberry lemonade was fire.Okay, now the bad: oh dang, quite a bit. We ordered the vegan grits, the vegan gumbo, a side of mashed potatoes, with the gumbo ending up turning into the cauliflower steak 😅. So the gumbo came with beef brisket in it. Yup. Pretty yikes, huh? After a while of trying to just get someone to come look it the manager came and addressed the situation very well. She offered a replacement meal (the cauliflower steak) and she was super nice and apologetic!Apparently the cooks accidentally put brisket in that day’s batch of vegan gumbo… which means a couple things. They did it on accident, so every time they saw a ticket with vegan gumbo on it and spooned out into a bowl they didn’t happen to make the connection that it says VEGAN gumbo and there’s huge chunks of beef in it. Orrrrrr they DID and just said “Whatever”. Either one of those is absolutely awful.Okay, the grits! They came out lukewarm, lacked any flavor, and the vegetables were undercooked. That’s really all I can say about them. The cauliflower steak. It was alright, came out nice and hot which was great. I really liked the collards that came out with it even if my partner didn’t. Now here’s another problem though, the cauliflower came with some mashed potatoes along with the mashed potatoes we ordered earlier. Now these were obviously two completely different batches which leads me to believe one of them wasn’t vegan. I mean, stop trying to poison me restaurant! It’s apparent that this place has a vision and that’s awesome. It warms my heart when a place has a number of vegan options. Maybe we just went on a particularly horrific night, but there seems to be a Grand Canyon disconnect between the training of the cooks and the preparation of vegan food.

Laura Strom: Great drinks, many bourbon- inspired. Delicious catfish & fries! Also came with potato salad & coleslaw for $19. Tartar sauce is .75¢ extra, I think it should come with the fish. Family friendly. Indoor & outdoor seating. Friendly staff!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Brandon Davis: Food: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Platter, VeganMore
Theresa Sanders: Food was very expensive for a vegan meal $18 for a cauliflower meal the food was very salty and the mashed potatoes had no flavor and the greens were to salty too customers serve was okay could of been a little bit better I will not be returning very beautiful atmosphere very clean
Mary Pearson: Great atmosphere, delish food and the NICEST servers. We will be back! Try the catfish! And...come thirsty!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Platter …More
TeeC: This place was ok, A bit over priced, the taste on some things did not match the price, Catfish was amazing, sides were not so great...different with having to order everything from your phone including refills...I guess a bit annoying what if u don't have a cell? Or it's dead? Lol business wise they need to rethink this
C Mann: 5 star for sure. The music, food, & location. It's a vibe!Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Alyssa Goch: Lots of cognac
Sophie M: I loved all of the vegetarian options at this restaurant. Flavors were excellent, portions were decent. Appetizers were yummy. I could skip the cocktails next time, but it also was a Sunday night I went.
John C: Had a friend take me here and I got the gumbo, Mac and cheese and the green beans and let me tell you how amazing these were! This was the best Mac and cheese I ever had in my life. The gumbo was perfection and the atmosphere was amazing.
Chris Houseman: Few things that aren't working any longer, which made me change the rating from a 5 to 3.-No more Bloody Mary bar. That was great. Why no more?-Servers bring food and take dishes but you place your order on an app? Doesn't make a lot of sense and takes away from the experience considerably. The app also puts everyone's order at the table on one bill. Can be split by the server, but just a hassle.-Wasn't cornbread for order, so server said they'd take it off the bill. It wasn't taken off. Paid same price for less food. The food I had was good.-The vibe is off here. Few tweaks and it could be much better.
Nathan Palmer: The people working there were nice but the overall experience was lacking. There are no servers. You have to order from your phone, drinks took 30 minutes to get and food took an hour. My family and I were looking for a more traditional restaurant experience. So as long as 40 Acres is going to continue to do business like this I will not be returning.
Lilly Baker: I enjoyed the food when I was here. We got a shrimp and grits flight and either gumbo or jambalaya. For the price, the jambalaya was definitely a better bang for your buck and really tasty. I don't think I'll go back, but I did enjoy it.
SJ Anderson: Great 👍🏾! Ownership, service, food and ambiance! So glad I was in town to enjoy 😁!!!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

The Søvengård: what do users think?
Kerry C: Very fun atmosphere, but a bit overpriced. The first I went in May 2021, I ordered the only vegan entree, and I left feel very hungry after waiting 45 minutes for it and spending a lot. On my second visit in June 2022, there were more vegan options fortunately, but it was still a very expensive meal for what we received.
Chase Hasper: A very trendy-upscale eatery that offers unique takes with fresh ingredients. We ate upstairs and had a great time! The waiter was friendly and not overly intrusive and the restaurant wasn’t too crowded or loud. It is a bit pricey, but you pay for what you get! They had some outstanding mealsDine in: Yes Outdoor seating: Yes …More
Chelsea D: This place is so great! Delicious food and good drinks. Staff and ambiance is nice but the prices are a bit high.
Alyssa W: Very unique atmosphere and menu offerings.
Christopher Gallagher: it was fine. I attribute the difficulty to an imminent moving if of locations.
Heather Alten: Not super impressed despite all the great reviews. Ordered 2 dishes off the Saturday brunch menu only to have them come out with ingredients missing as they were apparently a misprint? Service by the outdoor bartender was meh. He didn't seem super concerned that we were missing ingredients and answered with a " I haven't worked a brunch shift in months so I don't know". Coffee was full of grounds also. Staff also seemed put out that we didn't have a reservation? What a way to celebrate my birthday! Over all will not be back.Emailed them as asked about my experience and have not heard a single peep in months. Will definitely not go back or recommend them to anyone.
Alex Crawley: I was always really intrigued to try this place, but they ended up being such bad neighbors, it soured all interest in the establishment. They try and hit us with their cars. They put their trash in our trash can. We just found their cook with dreads, smoking weed on our porch!Edit: we watched them walk back and forth to sovengard. So the restaurant's reply is them further trying to get out of being decent neighbors. It's disappointing
Michael McAlpine: Interesting menu, good drinks, fun place.Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: Yes Takeout: Yes Delivery: Yes …More
Bryn Perkins: Great food, perfect staff. The outdoor seating is amazing.
Lauren Belchik: The vibe was very chill and a sweet staff. The bs and gs we're delicious
Kelsey Gaylord: Great brunch for my sister in laws bachelorette party! Delicious food and drinks and friendly staff!
Robert Hunter: everything was great!! unfortunate, though, the outdoor seating’s proximity to the dumpster. every time the wind blew it smelled really bad.
Jim Hocking: The last time I visited The Sovengard was before Covid and it was wonderful, but upon my return I am pleased to say it was absolutely out of this world.Aside from having top of the line service, we were sat on the beautiful back patio on one of the most perfect days we could have asked for. Ambiance isn’t in short supply, and vibes are overwhelmingly positive. We had the bloody mary and the mimosa for drinks, the Dutch baby for a sweet treat, and a savory shareable finish with The Hearty Woodsperson; a portion fit for a single eater with a large appetite, or for two to be comfortably enjoyed without a food coma.I highly recommend the Sovengard for brunch or dinner. This restaurant breaks away from some of the monotonous trends that plague new age eateries. You won’t be disappointed!
Noah Hopson: Excellent food, good cocktails, cold beer and a great outside space. I hope they can match the ambiance at their new location.
Gina Hubbell: It was a little confusing to get to their outdoor garden area, but I appreciated that the tucked away patio was much quieter than the rest of Bridge St. All the staff was super friendly and personable, our waitress let us sample the lemon mead and it was delicious! Food was pretty good, artful plating, I got the beet carpaccio(?) and I thought it was a creative dish. Very laid back atmosphere, while still feeling upscale and luxurious.
Sean Downie: Everything about this place was perfect. Brunch burger and grilled cheese were on point. Having been a cheese monger, I love finding unique takes on cheese related food, and this was a gem. Service was delightful. Loved this place; will return.
Mike Raymond: The best food and drink, beginning to end, we've had in GR. in a long time. Next time we will save room for dessert.Wonderful.
Nathan Ver Beek: Had an excellent brunch today at Sovengard! The outdoor patio is beautiful and very comfortable for a morning meal. The food was very good, especially the brunch burger. The mimosas were good too, a touch light on alcohol.
Tari Sasser: Wonderful food and outdoor dining.
T-Bones Medium-Rare Jeff Carroll: Excellent, unique and wonderful food in a artistically designed restaurant. The staff were very helpful and responsive and kind.
Stephen Knape: Bacon wrapped elk dish was great, and so was the service. Wife had the pork chop which was also very good. Looking forward to visiting the new location eventually!
