Robert Iafrate: Boulder Ridge exceeded my expectations! It was clean, friendly, and interactive. We went with our close friends, their 4 year old and our 5 year old. We had a wagon for the kids to explore the park. All of the walking paths provided a smooth trip. The variety of animals was fun to see. You can feed the birds and the goats. All of the animals looked healthy. It was a lot of fun!

Some the animals just look so miserable. Some we couldn't even see into through the glare. I wouldn't go back again by choice because I feel so bad for the animals.

Shay Babik: Pricey but then again it’s only one dollar less than the John Ball Zoo.A nice variety of animals and perfect for little kids. You can probably make it around in 1.5-2 hrs if leisurely strolling. I was very sad to hear of their giraffe passing and I know the whole community was.My only gripe is there are no family bathrooms. As a place that sees a lot of families, trying to bring a stroller in the small bathrooms with a baby and/or toddler in to use the bathroom is a nightmare.

Jesse Stokes: They charge more than other zoos but they’re smaller and more crowded. Animal pens are small, giraffes don’t have very much room, turtles habitat is basically just cement with a pool of dirty nasty water, no greenery at all, the alligators were the same way. Penguins were all huddled outside by the by next to dirty nasty water. There’s a lot wrong with this zoo and they should probably be shut down due to lack of space for a lot of these animals. Bigger animals that needed more space had smaller areas, while smaller animals had the bigger areas. Don’t give them your money. Drove over and hour to this zoo cause the website made it sound great and a lot bigger than it is. Was extremely disappointed with this zoo. Boulder Ridge Zoo needs to do a lot better and do way more for their animals.

Elisavel Bautista: 2 stars for the walk. But this zoo is not worth $20 a ticket. The zoo is completely cluttered with art projects, there's like 5-10 animals, there's hardly any space to walk with the amount of people visiting at one time because of the art projects taking up walking space. The animals enclosures are small and depressing. The animals look depressed and just unhappy. I felt bad supporting the zoo knowing I'm supporting the entrapment of wild free animals. But for the sake of a family trip and my toddlers first zoo experience I took it all in. Definitely not the same as it was growing up which is understandable because time is passing. But in my opinion this zoo can definitely do better.

dagwoodj: This is a great big dog park! Keep in mind though, it's not completely fenced in. There are a couple open entrances along the fence line and the drive way/ parking lot isn't closed off.If your dog tends to run away you're better off going to a fully inclosed park.

Chris Noel: Walking my dog through this park on a leash, then some lady let's her two Burmese dogs out her car to come charging at us. I almost had to kick one of them as I tried to stay between the two and my small very nervous dog. I curtly ask the lady to put her dogs on a leash and EVERY SIGN INTO THE PARK DICTATES. She responds 'it's a dog park'. So expect a few nut jobs who don't take responsibility for their dogs. She was indifferent to us, the rules, and to the families with small children in that park. It is a park for walking your dog it is not a dog park, and you are being thoughtless otherwise.From what I hear law enforcement make fairly regular patrols by this park and have issued fines to dog owner flaunting the leash law. It is unethical that people are posting bad advice here that would lead others to engage unwittingly engage in criminal activity resulting in a fine.

Barbara Egeler-Bailey: I live directly behind the park, and it is NOT an off-leash park. The rules clearly state dogs must be on a leash. Kent Co. animal control does patrol and fine people who are abusing the park rules.
