Brewery Nyx: what do users think?
Amy Rohrbach: I've not visited but damn is their gluten free Blonde beer amazing. Picked it up at Meijer and love the flavor and experience. It's like beer when I wasn't GF except a little more expensive! But seriously, worth every penny and I am now a repeat buyer!! Go get some right now!!
Wendy Parson: Great beer, awesome service! Definitely worth a stop!
Marianne Guthrie: This was an interesting place. The location is not the greatest, the building is a bit odd walking up to it. There is only street parking. When you walk in, it's a cool vibe. It's definitely small, but it's really open and industrial. Order at the bar and seat yourself was the situation. The service was great - the employees were super friendly and helpful. The beer was just okay - for me it was hit or miss. A couple of them I thought were good, and a few were really not. However, I'm not gluten-free, so I imagine if you are, these beers might taste better to you. I'm glad an option like this exists in our City for those people that need it!
Heather: Beyond impressed with their gluten free craft beer and the wonderful experience we had while visiting. Their staff goes above and beyond! Celiac or not this is hands down the best place to grab yourself a cold one!
Naomi Perkins: We were delighted with this rustic gluten-free brewery! Their options are limited, but we enjoyed their amber and blonde beer. The staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable! We will definitely be back.
Max Thompson: I really need to get back here. Honestly some of the best beer I've ever had and it just happens to be gluten free. This is a scenario where you definitely get what you pay for. Quality costs more, but you won't find this kind of beer at a big brewery. Go there now!
Paul Toth (FCG): Great selection of gluten free beer, truly enjoyed the beer and atmosphere.
David Madison: Fantastic gluten free beer, great service and ambiance
Emily Evans: We had a great experience at Nyx! The beer is great, not just *great for gluten free*. It is so nice to be able to order anything from the menu. The manger was so kind and we had a great conversation. We will be back many times in the future!!
Ashley Gutting: Great conversation and service from Devin. Thank you for being so kind and making my partner and I feel WELCOME 😊
David Webster: Can't believe I didn't know about this place. Great staff, super tasty beer, chill atmosphere. I plan on turning this into a regular haunt.
Cindy Mcallister: This place is amazing! The beer is sooo good and it's 100% gluten-free! The bartender Kate is super friendly and funny. The manager Miranda is also super friendly and funny. We had a blast hanging out here! Will definitely be back!
Montana Krukowski: Brings me back to what made GR Beer City a destination. Personable, tasty, and chill.
Chris Channells: A must for anyone with gluten allergies or celiac. They have a wide assortment of beers on tap and use a number of gluten free ingredients instead of just sorghum.
Kerry Muller: We had the BEST experience at Brewery Nyx! Over 10 beers on tap...all Gluten free! We ordered 2 flights and every single beer was delicious! On top of that the service was excellent! Great spot to hang with friends and enjoy some amazing beer. We will be back for sure!
J B: This is another place has been shown on my social media for days, good food and food friends you can't go wrong
KlugEmily: Really good selection of gluten free beers. It’s been a joy to find types that recall classic flavors that I could never find GF, and I’ve tried a ton of them over the past 16 years.
Ryan Bright: Very tasty gluten-free beers!
Jenna Fussell: Cool new brewery, great stop for a scooter beer tour of GR. We liked the hazy, blonde, and hefe
Nathan Ver Beek: Nice place to get a drink! Very cool repurposed space. Beer was good! Only a few options since they're just getting started, but we liked what we tried. Definitely will return some day soon!
Michael Folster: How cool - new brewery with great options and quality products. After a couple, found out they’re all gluten free…that’s cool, I’ll have a third.

The Mitten Brewing Company: what do users think?
Dan Holmes: They've been voted the best pizza in Grand Rapids many, many times. It's no mistake: the pizza is fantastic. Don't eat any other pizza in GR, you have to try the pie from The Mitten.
Xavier Chappell: Like the vibe. Very convenient location especially for going to the comedy Project on weekends. Always a suprise.
Joginder Sahni: amazing beers with somehow more amazing staff. Always a great time
JJ L: Old school charm inside this local brewery serving up high quality, delicious pizzas paired with tasty brews. Highly recommend if you are a beer and pizza lover.
James Grego: The Mitten Brewing Co is a trifecta; good beer, and great people! And the best damned pizza in West Michigan !
Molly Carpenter: The outside area was wonderful. The pizza was also delicious.
Kurt Lindstrom: AMAZING pizza and beer offerings!!! Pizza filght, 6 pizzas 4 pieces of each type of pizza chosen, WOW!!!
Bev Gauger: Excellent pizza! Just the right amount of toppings and sauce. Crust is perfect, not soggy and not burnt. Service was attentive, but not hovering. We're from Chicago and we are very picky about pizza and we definitely recommend The Mitten!
Rob Galanty: Great Pizza but difficult business hours compared to hours of op online. Shows open until 10 pm but called at 8:46 and was told the kitchen was closing in 1 minute because it was "slow today". again great food but feels like more often than not its not an option because its closed. could be a google problem - current showing "not too busy" compared to historical but like who closes a kitchen at 8:47?
Dylan Birdsong: Ate outside with the Pup while passing through Grand Rapids. Had the Pretzel with their cheese and mustard. The pretzel was really good, wasn't really a fan of the cheese or mustard choice though. We also ordered the Pizza flight, had the Curse of the goat, the heater, the pesto chicken, and weekly special in the flight. The Heater was my favorite followed by curse of the goat, pesto chicken, and the weekly special. I would order the Heater 100 times over. Also had their Raspberry Cider and wish I had the ability to purchase it where I am in Indiana.
Benjamin Williams: Great pizza and we trust the kitchen to accommodate our allergy preferences (celiac and lactose intolerantance)
Lilly Baker: I'm not a big beer person, but they have some ciders that are pretty good. I highly recommend getting the pizza flight if you go with a group. It's a lot of food and a good way to try 6 different types of pizza. It's priced about the same as 2 regular full pizzas, so might as well try more options. My favorite was the chili dog pizza. I can't wait to go back!
Ryan Drake: Ordered their pizza flight and pickle breadsticks and they were supposed to be ready at 5:50pm (ordered at 5:15pm). When I got there the guy said it wasn’t ready yet and that I’d receive a text when it’s ready. So I figured I’d just stand and wait at their outside pick up window. Well at 6:10pm I still hadn’t received a text so I knocked on the window again and asked what was going on with my order, and although they did have it, it was cold and the ticket showed it was done at 5:50pm. So clearly the guy working the window messed up and no apology or anything was offered.I really like Mitten Brewing Company because they have good pizza and beer, but I’m not sure I’ll be back after this experience.
Meredith Lawson: Such a great little spot! Tons of beer offerings and great pizza! Loved that you can do. Flight of both too.
Katie Baxter: Very attentive bar and wait staff! Thank you!
Brad Van Hammen: Great little place and pizza. Know what they are doing and do it well.
Stephen Heintz: Good Time and Great Food!
Kerry C: Awesome vegan food and excellent beer. We had the vegan pizza flight (6 different types of pizza!) and loved it. Will definitely be back!
Kimberle: Great atmosphere! Great food! Who is my first time there in all these years and I was impressed. I’d like the artwork and the way they have a decorated. The staff was great all in all it was really good.
Chris Russo: Good selection of beers. Their sours are the best. Pizza and cheesy bread sticks are awesome. Always good service. Not bad prices.
Grand Cast: Fantastic pizzas. My favorite is the westerdog! Never would have thought about a hot dog pizza with all the fixings but wow is it good. Great beer too. I particularly enjoy getting a pizza flight to try a bunch of different styles.

Atwater Brewery in GR: what do users think?
Lilly Baker: I was kind of underwhelmed by this place. I heard about it all the time, but when we went it was super busy, they didn't really have any food options, and the drinks were fine, but nothing super special, especially when there are so many other breweries close by.
Angela Dickey: Shared a Pub Burger. Tasty burger on a yummy pretzel bun. Fries were a little cold. Had the Dirty Blonde which is a nice, easy drinking wheat beer.
Danae Twigg: This has to be the #1 brewery in the city! The food is to die for and the staff is top notch! I'm here at least twice a week and I just can't get enough of the atmosphere! Wish I could give 100 stars! Keep it up (;
Jeremy Mullan: They never answer the phone and they always close at random hours. Also their online ordering app never is open. This place is trash in Grand Rapids
Laura Heinemann: They were out of pizza dough and pizza is like a third of their menu. They smothered my meal in cheddar cheese even though I specified twice for none since I'm lactose intolerant. Had to ask for silverware. Also not at all kid friendly. No kids menu. My son ordered tenders and started screaming when he dipped it in ketchup because they don't have any regular ketchup, just Tabasco chilli ketchup that they make themselves. Food was decent but the inconveniences make it not worth going back to for us.
Kim Ham: We had some time to spare while waiting on a performance at DeVos Place so we stopped for a drink. The atmosphere is good - but was not impressed with the guy who waited on us. You have to place your orders at the bar. The one drink my husband & I wanted had expresso in it and the guy had to check with a co-worker regarding the drink - they told us that they haven't had time to take the drink off the menu because they were out of expresso. So we ordered a different drink and was told it would be right out - the guy went and cleared a table and walked around aimlessly before making our drinks - which he had the other employee make for him - he couldn't even find the drinks we ordered on the menutaker machine. We ordered nachos also - the beer cheese was a little too think and was not warm at all. I think they just threw everything that goes on the nachos cold and sent it out. I highly doubt we will be back.
Maria: Great beer, good environment. Didn’t have any food, but from what I could see, it looked good.
James Vainner: Great Cheese Pizza!!
L P: Haven’t been here however our party of 7 was planning on it before our show at Devos and they close early on Sundays so opted to gather elsewhere. Check the hours first!
Jordan Murdock: To say they had bad service is an understatement. Literally NO service. They have a sign that says all orders must be placed at the bar, but I sat at the bar for a half hour and didn’t get a hello, let alone what can I get you.
Ken Robart: Need more staff for a Saturday afternoon. Need something on the chair legs so they don't make that awful sound when they're pushed up to the table. Loved the beer. Food was okay; not memorable.
Island Ewert: Cool atmosphere
Melissa Hunter-VanPatten: Portion sizes are very small for the high price you paid. DisappointedThey were out of dough for pizzas and bread sticks in a sat afternoon.Staff was nice but the wait time was quite long.
Matthew Hall: Very nice space with plenty of seating, good beer, not great - but I understand that that comment is very subjective - and thus the 3 stars. If Google would let give it 3.5 stars I would. Food was tasty and service fine.
Cheryl Bremer: Love the chip sampler. Wonderful wait staff, so fun and personable! I really enjoy the atmosphere, relaxed and calm, we are able to sit and visit without being rushed.
Mary Benner: Great food, quick service and great friendly staff!
Reese Patino: Great service, nice place. Bartender was very helpful directing me to beers I like.
Titus Bratcher: Can’t miss out on these pizzas, better than most big brands. Washes down excellent with the amazing drinks!
Natalie: Wonderful staff, great foods to try and a warm atmosphere. The pizzas were fantastic!
Stacie Downs: We live in the building and we came down for a couple beers and appetizers for happy hour. Beer was amazing, I had a Dirty Blonde and a Christmas Ale. Fried pickles with the chipotle mayo were good as well. Would definitely recommend checking them out!
Briana Martinez: Great beer and was very cute inside for the holidays!

Creston Brewery: what do users think?
My Grand Rapids Life My Grand Rapids Life: Creston Brewery in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is an exceptional destination for craft beer enthusiasts and food lovers. Their craft beer list is diverse, offering a range of options to suit different tastes. I particularly enjoyed their Blueberry Lemonade Shandy, a refreshing and perfectly balanced choice for summer. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich is a standout on their food menu, featuring a delightful heat, creamery pimento cheese spread, and pickles. Accompanying the delicious food and drinks is a welcoming atmosphere, with both sidewalk outdoor seating and a spacious, clean interior adorned with a vibrant mural. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. Creston Brewery is a must-visit spot in Grand Rapids, offering a memorable combination of great craft beer, tasty food, and an inviting ambiance.
Clay Harwood: I played in a weekly Cornhole league, we were lucky enough to have Heather as a bartender/waitress. Don't get me wrong all the people were nice but Heather went over and above to make us all happy. Great food, great drinks and an awesome atmosphere. Thanks Creston Brewery it was a great time and I will be back at least once a week.

Nick Grutter: We had a great time. Char_les has been our server a couple of times. The jabs and banter is always appreciated. The drinks hit the spot, and the GR Jazz Orchestra was amazing. Great time at Creston!

Seth: Huge selection of craft beer. Excellent food options - chicken was incredible! Service was great.
Sarah Kinney: Great space. Good food. Service was wonderful as was the beer!
Kimberly Sandberg: Very nice place. Was there for a Comedy Show (Laugh Fest). The venue Upstairs was a perfect size for the show. Our server was super! Very nice and brought me a couple of samples of beer to try before I decided. Great time!
David Horrigan: Great food great beer and great staf
Michael Liepitz: Was the day after Winter Beer Fest so didn't have any beers, but the brunch food was exceptional. Wife even said she had the best Eggs Benedict of her life. Servers/Hosts were friendly and very helpful. Will definitely go back when we're back in town.
chuck kleinheksel: Great bartender. Pleasant, funky neighborhood vibes...
Kathryn Pretty: I had gone back and forth on whether or not I wanted to leave this review... We went in a few weeks ago for a late lunch/early dinner. Got appetizers, two meals, four drinks. The atmosphere was fine and food decent, but there was a FULL hair in one of my drinks. We pointed it out, it was replaced and we moved on. Then when food came out, there was another FULL HAIR in my food. At this point it almost felt targeted. The food was also replaced, but there was no comp made by the restaurant which I felt somewhat odd. We had lost our appetites by then. Overall, it was awkward. Based on that experience I don't think we will go back.

New Holland Brewing - The Knickerbocker: what do users think?
David Satterthwaite: Love this place. It is my favorite brewery in Grand Rapids. Good food and good drinks. Absolutely love the dragons milk. It also has a great atmosphere on a Friday night.
Kaitlin Wood: Updated 5/13/23Vegan pizza and hard kombucha were great! Bummer that we couldn't get a server and had to order from the bar even though they were less busy than expected after the big race.Original post: Good beer and food but service was really lacking, both at the bar and also our table. Salmon BLT is really good! No kombucha on draft today 😥
Logan Rogers: Great vibes and a really cool space. Food, drinks, and service were all fantastic!
Adam Bordoley: Wednesday is the night to go to New Holland because of BOOT NIGHT!

Tammy Punter: Large, cool bar with lots of drink options!
Sandra Johnson: Hands down one of the best places to host an event in GR!I had my wedding at New Holland Knickerbocker this past weekend and they knocked it out of the park! Shawna and Julia run the event space and they are excellent at their jobs! They helped me arrange and coordinate an amazing night and were available and communicative throughout the entire planning process. They worked seamlessly together to create such a special evening for my wedding day. I can not thank them enough! The staff that served us that night were top notch, the food and drinks were excellent and everything was absolutely perfect! I would not hesitate to recommend New Holland for any event!
Walter Gutowski: Dragons milk 👌
Lilly Baker: I have really enjoyed every time I have been to the Knickerbocker. They have fun seasonal cocktails and good food. It's also a really large space so good for groups. In the summer there's a really big outdoor patio that's great too. Highly recommend!
Alli Hersberger: Fun place. Nobody likes the EDM dj. Pls switch it up.
Cliff Roberts: Really solid brewery and able to handle very large crowds. It does get really busy so get there early. Their dragons milk line is really smooth for high abv. Enjoyed all the beers I had and would go back. Really excellent building and design throughout. A must stop if downtown Grand Rapids.
Tina Rendel: I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup. It was fabulous! The pesto on the sandwich added so much flavor. The soup was the perfect consistency for dipping the sandwich yet it tasted great on its own. A must try!!
martin gray: Top notch I love it here. Can't wait to see the new one in Battle Creek open.
Jared Geers: Loved the special key lime slush they had on St. Patty’s day. Was boozy, not sweet. Artichoke dip was amazing as well.

Brewery Vivant: what do users think?
Mike Cavanaugh: The duck nachos are too die for
Táňa Rulková: Loved all four beers I tried. Great service and awesome atmosphere!
Madhavi Rao: Friendly staff! We sat at the bar and had an amazing time. The bartenders are super friendly and gave us a lot of tastings. The truffle fries are not to be missed. And of course great beer!!
Matthew Harrell: Brewery Vivant is one of my favorite breweries and one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. I live in Lansing, but I'm in the Grand Rapids area quite a bit during bicycling season.
Vitor Warwar: One of the best beers I ever had. Worth every drop! Well done
Sarah Kinney: Love the atmosphere of this space, super chill, good food and good 🍺
Annie Rehn: The atmosphere was nice, but I had my heart set on the poutine only to find it wasn't regular poutine gravy but a spicy Thai sauce? You couldn't get any substitute gravy. So I thought no problem, I'll get a burger and fries. When I asked for a side of ranch, the server told me they didn't have ranch there. What place doesn't carry ranch? The fries were so salty I could only eat about 1/3. The servers were nice and really attentive, so that's why I gave 3 stars. I really wanted to like this place but won't be back as the menu was a bit bizarre and limited.
KILLy Munster: Went for Weird Beer Weekend. The Weird Beer Flight was interesting & tasty. I had the Farro Salad, it was hearty but my taste buds needed more zip to it. My friend had the burger & fries, enjoyed it.Overall we liked it, service was friendly but extremely slow. Don't think we'll do dinner hours again. Will consider trying lunchtime.
Emily Moore: The atmosphere and food & drinks are great!
Grand Cast: This place is grand! Excellent beer and food made with quality and style. Always satisfying. Can't go wrong with a Farmhand.
Paul Deeds: Very unique atmosphere, bar was established in a former church with stained glass windows. Food was not traditional fair. Prices were reason.
Tom Caldwell: Great beers and atmosphere.
Katherine Johansson: We called ahead to see if their patio was open so we could enjoy some beers with our puppy. They were accommodating and opened the patio just for us so we could enjoy the sunshine and delicious brews. This was exceptional service!
Eddie White: Great location, friendly staff, good food! The beer sometimes I feel like is hitting and I like all of it, and other times it's not as easy, but it is always quality beer.
christian topil: Check #106 server PM T table 21Fantastic service thank you so much I can't wait to come back!
Benjamin Videtich: Love this spot! One my favorites around town.I recently celebrated my birthday at Vivant. They accommodated my little group of 12 with grace and candor.Having requested the beer garden, they were happy to snag a long table for us back where it was quieter. Thanks team! And, as so many other reviews note, the beer and food are excellent. Top notch.
Carlo Adinata: Beautiful brewery, great beers and very friendly staff!
Kimberly Wolbrink: Great service! Great food! Tom was fantastic! Elsie was super as well!
Cory Berends: Excellent selection of beers. Great food Get the duck nachos
Corey Crowley: Our server and beer expert was Jonas. He was very kind, funny and knowledgable. I was with two friends, and we had such a great time. The heated patio was very comfortable, the beer was amazing (the Czech Pilsner poured from a Lukr faucet is a must try) and the appetizers were all incredible!
Jeff Dyke: I wanted to give 5 stars so bad! But...alas. Overall, I really did love this place, and I will absolutely be returning. Because of that, I'll start with what knocked off the star, and then I'll end on the high notes. The negative - I ordered the star of the menu (judging from other reviews and from my buddy who was there with me), the duck nachos. Our food came out very quickly - great! Which is why I was so surprised with what I discovered - it was barely lukewarm in the middle, and cold everywhere else. They quickly replaced it and the replacement was hot.The nachos are tasty. The cheese sauce is good, duck is tasty, overall flavors are good. But! It costs $23... and I could barely find any duck on it at all. What I did find was really delicious, just very little of it. It is extremely heavy on the chips... so many they are falling off the plate and about half of them don't get eaten because there wasn't enough toppings to go with them. At this price point, I expected something much better than what I got.Okay, on to the good! This is in a very unique building, looks like an old church or chapel. Very cool atmosphere, and yet unpretentious. The host was polite, welcoming, and quick. Our waitress was really great. She was absolutely on top of everything and very friendly. The beers! I had a flight, and the beers were all tasty. I've tried plenty of West Michigan breweries, and I'd say the flavors here put them well above the average. All good in this department in my book.Lastly, I tried a bite of what my friend got, which was the beer cheese with some sort of homemade bread.Guys... have you ever actually experienced the term "mouth watering flavor"? Where you bite into something, and it is so overwhelmingly delicious that your mouth starts watering as you're eating? THAT is what happened when I bit into this bread with the beer cheese! I literally drooled a tiny bit as I was chewing! Lol. The cheese was tasty, yes, but this bread... fresh and hot with perfectly chewy inside with an equally perfect crunchy crust, sprinkled with just a bit of sea salt on top... my God. I died and went to heaven. Easily one of the best bites of fresh bread I've ever had in my life.So I'll be back! Again, overall I really liked it.
