After about a day they called and told me my transmission is bad and it will cost almost $12000. Everyone I asked said that was excessive for a transmission repair first of all, and second the worse part is after I got a second opinion they said it wasn’t even my transmission it was a electrical issues and I got the issues fixed for $1137 and my Jeep has been fine since..DONT TELL SOMEONE SOMETHING LIKE THAT IF YOU DONT KNOW FOR SURE BECAUSE NOW YOUR EITHER A LIER OR YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING!Service:Auto engine diagnostic

Katie Holloway: DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE!!!!Especially if you are a female (young or old).I was recommended from an oil change shop to bring my car here. I was told that the staff members are good people and that they all go to church together. I was also told that they wouldn't take advantage of me because I'm a young female in college or screw me over.I ended up bringing my car here last week, and they essentially wanted to replace a sizable portion of my transmission, with a $4,500 estimate. I took it to another shop in Grand Rapids because this didn't seem right to me, and they claimed that both their estimation and the problem were entirely incorrect. In the end, I just had to replace a little component for only $500.Seeing other reviews for this shop this doesn't seem out of the blue from this place to do this to people.Please save yourself the $150 inspection fee and excessive (and false) estimate prices from this company. It disturbs me to think that they intended to use a young female (or anyone else) for their financial gain.

Went there to talk about when my car would be ready the guy went out the back door and left.Very unprofessional. Never go here unless you plan on waiting a year and a half then get charged way more than you should.

Was expecting a bill over $1000 and was only $435, they double checked the issues I described to diagnose and fix only what was needed, got parts from Weller auto parts to save me money, and didn't take advantage of labor hours, only charged me for how long it actually took them. Definitely going back next time work needs to be done!

Uniquely Modified: When i first got my car, I thought they were credible and about their business. But no i had to go up to the place twice to figure out what was going on with my car because they failed to call. Then told me the second time i went up there the next morning that the wrong part got sent and it'll be another few weeks until they recieve the actual one to fix it. The first time i went back up there they didnt even do nothing to my car had left it there all morning and night the second time too. Almost missed work because of it. And they don't have a phone number to contact them which is odd, if your working on or selling cars. Not a big fan nor would i recommend

They weren’t able to pull me in the shop because their gas tanks were being filled and the truck blocked the garage doors. That didn’t stop them. I had a flat tire situation couldn’t fix it my my bolts were rusted so I figured tow my car to them get it fixed. I go there they tell me I need a whole new hub cap cool what do I know about cars they tell me it’s going to be $700. Long story short they tell me I have no other option but to do that. Luckily for me I meet another friend who is a mechanic who told me there was nothing wrong for my car just needed a new tire. Pat McManus: I have owned four vehicles in my lifetime, and each one has eventually needed varying levels of break work done (Pontiac, Chrysler, Buick, Silverado). I have brought each of those vehicles to this Tuffy to get repairs and they are A++. I have received the vehicle back the same day everytime, the price always seems fair, and the best part not one time did I have to bring the vehicle back to have them correct something. On my last visit they replaced bearings and even helped me diagnose another issue I had been having a problem with. Everyone in that building knows what they are doing in my opinion. 5* never failed

Samuel Deyoung: Very poor experience, I would not trust them with your vehicle. I brought my wrangler to them, explained the problem I was experiencing, and then told them what the cause was, and what I wanted done. They looked over the vehicle, told me I was wrong, and that it was something entirely different. I told them to fix it then, and what do you know they only have a "premium" version of the part ($400 vs $130 for oem), which had this part been the actual source of the problem I would have said oh well to the increased cost and been happy. However the problem was not solved in the slightest, I'm not sure how they test drove it and believes they could return it with the issue occuring MORE than before I had dropped it off. I brought it right back and they called me up and begrudgingly said, yeah we think it's what you said it was the first time (replacing the flex line between the stainless brake line and caliper, flushing the brake fluid, and replacing the front caliper). They then quoted me astronomical rates for these parts as well. All in it would have cost me just shy of $1100 to have the problem actually solved had I gone through them. Instead I went and bought the parts for $120 dollars total and spent an afternoon doing it myself like I should have from the start. I would not recommend taking your vehicle. They are either very poor mechanics or malicious. Couldn't say which.I will say they were very polite the entire time... For what it's worth.Services:Brakes,Auto maintenance

Tsadaqah: I have used Haritage many times. I have brought my own car and the vehicles of several family members to heritage to have an inspection of a used car for purchase done. They do a very thorough job with a detailed report. You could get an inspection that costs less somewhere else, but I can guarantee it won't be done with the same standards and attention to detail. Their inspection is well worth the price.I would also like to give a special review to Mike. He is very warm and friendly. He is great at breaking down and explaining any questions you may have. After multiple attempts to replace a power steering pump and several bad ones, the 4th time worked. Mike had no problem replacing the ones he put on until he finally found an OEM part. Cade Snuffer: Charged 2 hours of labor to check out an issue. Ended up not having them fix it, only to later figure out their diagnosis was a complete lie. Was told my shifter cable was completely severed. I was later told on the phone that the technician lied about that fact. Instead, the actual issue is a bushing with an easy $10 fix. This place gave us a $600 estimate for something anyone can fix for 10 bucks and a YouTube video. Owner took no responsibility. Do not go here, you will get scammed.

Brian Andree: My Nissan Versa broke down last Friday and needed a new crankshaft position sensor. The team at Heritage was great, I typically take my car to the Nissan Gezon Dealership since nobody I know has owned a Nissan and I had no clue where else to go, but I was told it would be at least 2 months before I would even get in for service. I saw Heritage was an option under my MaxCare contract, and they were able to get me in ASAP! Great communication, turnaround, and Mike made it very easy to understand what was wrong with the car and what steps they were taking. Kate Lawn: Unprofessional. Said my car was still out of ailment and he said it was my tires. They are less then 6 months old and high quality. Way over charged me and for sub-par work. Belle Tire fixed the ailment and said the tires were fine. Tom's will never get another dime out of me. Sorry he got what he did.Service:Steering suspension replacement

Ryan Buehlman: Absolutely a terrible service shop, Charged $2,544.88 for a timing job on a Ford truck only to not do the job properly, had to take the truck to another shop for them to find out the timing had jumped. The 2nd shop said half the parts they were claiming to be new appeared to be not new, and the timing guides and chains appeared to be well used. They also installed a new timing cover on the truck that had broken bolts in it as well as they had stripped the valve cover bolts somehow. The power steering pump was missing a bolt that held it in place as well and the other bolts were loose. I would highly recommend against using this shop as they appear to be a bunch of hacks and don’t stand behind the poor work that was done. USE EXTREME CAUTION WHILE USING THIS SHOP!!!!!!Service:Engine repair
Derek Webb: I brought in my 1980 Firebird which is super clean, rust free and in excellent condition to get a simple muffler install. I simply wanted a straight section of the exhaust pipe cut out in front of my existing muffler and a glass pack straight thru muffler installed in line. Quick easy money for any mechanic. Making an appointment with the receptionist who was friendly, then a guy walks in who I assume is the owner saying no, no, no. She looked as confused as I was by his tone and actions and asked why, what?? He looked at her without addressing me at all and repeated no no I don't want to work on something that old, I just don't, no. He didnt ask any questions or say anything else So I am left standing there wondering if I am in the twilight zone instead of an auto mechanics shop and slowing turned around and said okaaaaay and slowly walked away. Maybe he is a decent mechanic when he decides he wants to work on something but just as many other reviewers have said he is definitely rude and extremely lacking in people skills and professionalism. I will definetly be going elsewhere if /when I need any work done on any of my vehicles.
Brianna Overkamp: I recently took my vehicle to Carl for an alignment, tie rods, and 2 new tires. He not only fixed the items that I came in for, but he called and let me know that the previous location that I had purchased tires from, had recommended a tire that was very ill-fit for rain and Michigan winters. He went above and beyond to ensure that I had all of the options available, and gave his best recommendation to make sure that my vehicle was as safe as possible. I will definitely be back with any future needs!
Melissa Grove: I was extremely impressed with the genuine kindness and hard work they put in the day before Forth of July for me when I didn’t even have an appointment. I was in desperate need of an inspection before my road trip and they said I could come, even though they had planned to be done for the holiday weekend by noon.The guy found that my brakes were so bad, they were about to scrape and he fixed them right then and there. The lady even offered to take me home and pick me up while they worked on the brakes so I could be with my boys! I couldn’t be happier with the service I received, and my brakes feel amazing! Laura Lafontsee: I called for a quote on a battery. Great price! Called back to make sure he knew he had to take off the front driver's tire to get to to the battery. He proceeded to be one of the most Obnoxious, Rude individuals I've ever dealt with. I asked because 5 other shops said that knew about the extra work to change out a battery.That says it all. Went to someone else. Treated with respect And No Screaming or Bellowing. I know Now why this shop gets a low star rating and bad word of mouth in the area.huh, 2 weeks later his reviews are 100% better. Yeah So not trusting any positive reviews.
Tys Yoder: Was disappointed after leaving. I asked Carl about his pricing on the parts he used for my repair on my 04 Honda Pilot. He explained to me that he charges retail on parts after he buys them wholesale. I asked why I could buy the parts for cheaper at any auto store to which he replied that they sold at a middle price which he wasn’t going to sell at because he wasn’t going to only make $3-$4 on parts after also charging me for labor. When I was confused by this he excused my comments with “you must not know how business work.”

Andrea Stachowiak: I went to get my car looked at for a brake problem. They did a full overview of the car and found out I needed rotors and whatnot. I pick up the car and its acted like it was fixed. One day later i had lights come on in my car for brake fluid, that my traction needed to be serviced. Come to find out the workers left me with NO brake fluid or anything in my car 😤 so long story short don’t go use there services if they properly can’t finish a job.

Diane DeRitter: I called this Midas on Plainfield Ave. after getting a diagnosis and a very expensive estimate to replace my entire exhaust system for a small break, as required by Ford. Midas was able to get me in when my schedule allowed and wait for diagnosis and repair. The problem was different than I had been told, Midas let me look at the exhaust and they were able to repair, not replace, the whole exhaust. I arrived at 8:15 am and was out the door by 9:30 am. Joe J.: I just wanted to share how impressed I am by Bob (the owner)'s integrity. We took my wife's vehicle in today to get the brakes checked out, because she has about 60,000 miles on it and the brakes have been making a squealing sound intermittently. I was surprised when Bob called to tell me the brakes were totally fine and likely wouldn't need any work for another 30,000+ miles. I was even more surprised when he told me there was no charge for the inspection. I expected to have to pay for them getting checked, so that was a nice bonus, but I imagine a lot of less honest shops would have suggested work just to increase their bottom line. Because of this experience, Bob will be the first person I call when we do need to have any work done on our vehicles in the future.Service:Brakes
