To make a long story short, I looked up cigar stores in the Grand Rapids area and headed up to Tuttle's. This place is a cigar lover's paradise. The gentleman behind the counter is helpful and knowledgeable about what they carry and, very patient in answering my questions. Been there twice now and this will be my cigar store of choice!

Andrew Woroniecki: Me and two friends were in town for a concert and gave this lounge a try. We had a fantastic time and will absolutely be coming back! The vibe and decor is exactly what you want for a lounge. They give you a very hospitable, guided experience. The bartender was especially charismatic, and recognized the band we were in town to see from the hat and t-shirt my friend was wearing. It turns out they are fans of the same group and even stopped the music they were playing in the lounge to play one of their anthems - completely unsolicited and really exceptional hospitality!I did have one slight nit-pick with regard to the guided humidor recommendation. When I mentioned that I'd like a shorter smoke time, like 45-60 min because we needed to keep in mind the concert time, they recommended a 7-inch cigar. I politely pointed out that a 7-inch cigar is more of a 90-120 minute smoke for me, personally, and we amicably settled on a robusto size instead. However, in contrast, the guide did rightly correct me when I said I like a "spicy" profile, when in-fact I meant "peppery", and also taught us about the tradition of wrapping cigars in newspaper in Cuba, which I was not aware of, so I learned something new as well. The hospitality and overall experience more than makes up for the small nit-pick on the recommendation to keep this a five-star review. The owners are good people.I tried a Jorge Newspaper Line Maduro in robusto. It was quite good, although a tad tight on the draw, which made for a slightly tough time keeping it well lit without overheating it. Not the shop's fault, obviously. We need good lounges as cigar smokers so supporting this great shop is a no-brainer for me!(cigar photo taken by my friend)

The owner met us and was kind and cordial, he had great suggestions for those that were less familiar with cigars and even some recommendations for someone who has enjoyed a good smoke for 20 years. The atmosphere was great, exactly what I was looking for after dinner for a relaxing time with a few after dinner drinks and quality cigars. Our server (Alicia) was prompt and professional and Al himself stopped by more than a few times to make sure that everyone was doing well.I know that we will be back.

Bold promises so much but delivers so little because of one guy; Al, who I believe is the owner. This dude’s rude, inconsistent in enforcement of dress code (I’ve never had an issue personally, but have been there and seen it selectively enforced), creates weird rules for the place, and he’s just an aggressive and weird guy who makes patrons feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.I’d love to bring out of town guests and business partners here, have no issue with pricing whatsoever (in fact glad to pay higher prices to support a local cigar lounge), but the experience with him keeps me and so many others I know from going back. Keep that dude home, allow Kate and others to do what they do making patrons feel welcome, and business would boom.

Randy Primc: My wife and I stopped in on Saturday night to experience the Bold lounge. Upon first stepping into the lounge I immediately noticed the air filled with cigar smoke - an obvious issue with their ventilation. Not sure if it wasn’t functional or simply inadequate for the approximate 7 occupants currently smoking. As we took another few steps we were prevented from continuing into the lounge by a roped off barrier and a man with a gun. His name was Jeff. He asked to see our IDs before going any further. My wife handed hers over and I presented mine to him as I continued holding onto it. He insisted on holding my ID and stated, “Are you challenging me?!” then stared at me for a solid 10 seconds- it got awkward. I explained I usually don’t relinquish my driver’s license for an age check. It was very adversarial. He said he wasn’t checking our age but rather that we had a valid driver’s license! (Huh?) Once this was complete, he ushered us to the cash register and said he needed a credit card to start a tab…I obliged even tho we were paying cash and not sure if we were drinking. He then prompted us to have a seat wherever we like so we can place our drink order, at which point we informed him that we pick our cigar first, then choose our pairing. He was bothered by this and said, “Ok, we’ll break the rules this one time…” and ushered us into a very small walk in humidor that had 95% Rocky Patel cigars. They carried 6 other brands that were priced 200% higher than retail everywhere else.(Yes, they are a Rocky Patel Lounge - so they want you to buy RP) And even then, the stock was pretty light. All of the cigars are overpriced compared to any other lounge we’ve been to, and we’ve been to hundreds…I asked Jeff about a few cigars to which he knew absolutely nothing, other than it being a maduro…smh. (I should’ve asked him about his gun, I hope he would’ve known that at least) We selected our cigars left the humidor where Jeff promptly cuts a V cut into my wife’s cigar without asking first. She said no, that’s not what I want, but a straight cut. He laughs, and said, “well I guess I’m smoking a Hamlet tonight (the cigar we had chosen) and retrieved another. The remainder of the night was uneventful. Until it came time to cash out, which we paid with cash and they couldn’t find our tab so we waited another 10 min until they could figure it out. This lounge tries to act high end, but fails miserably- maybe the owner should actually go to high end lounges and take some notes, cause he could learn a thing or two about hospitality. Also, I’d fire Jeff- or at least call him into my office and counsel him on customer care, friendliness and cigar knowledge. Don’t waste your time or money and visit one of Grand Rapids other lounges like Tuttles or Wild Bills where you’re treated with great hospitality and a great selection of cigars!

Then he asked for a third piece of id. After misread my card info we were seated. After being seated by the manager he tried to micro manage our experience at Bold. I’ve never been to a cigar bar were I couldn’t pick my cigar before my drink order was placed. After being disrespected and discriminated against we refused to spend our money at Bold. This manager gives Rocky Patel a bad name. I should have read the reviews before going to Bold. Please take your business elsewear.

Then continuing to argue with me after I told him I wasn’t trying to get free things I was just concerned about how the vapes work since I’ve used them in the past and have never had this issue. So it’s probably just from the case I got. All my years of customer service I have NEVER. That child needs a filter.

Sierra Santoyo: I had the worst experience the last time I stepped foot in this store (which was just the other week). The entire time it was obvious the employee was degrading to not just myself, but all women. Instead of attempting to work with me and help me as I was trying to find the correct glass bowl size, he proceeded to belittle me and treat me as if I wasn't knowledgeable about anything.When I mentioned I would contact my boyfriend (since he recently purchased a glass bowl for the same bong, just different store), the guy said "oh yea, he's a guy, he'll know." Excuse me? No, my boyfriend forgets everything, and who are you to assume? Regardless of his gender, this was completely unacceptable. The bowl I purchased was too small (thanks for the lack of help, as I literally shared we had a large bong) and the glass filters (or, screens as he corrected me) were so janky and didn't end up working either. Not only was it a waste of my time, but I've never been mistreated to this extent anywhere besides here. Needless to say, I would NOT recommend this store to any woman or man (but apparently, men know all).The following day we went to the place where my boyfriend had gone previously (SMJ Smoke Shop) and we had a COMPLETELY different experience. The guy there even gave us a discount just because. That's what good service looks like.GR Cloud Smoke Shop was by far the worst customer service I have EVER experienced. If the owner reads this review, I highly encourage you to have your employees take a course to learn what good customer service looks like as it seems they have absolutely no idea how to properly treat people.*After talking with others in the community and reading other reviews, it's evident this was not my experience with just an employee, but rather, the owner. Sickening a human of this type would attempt to run a business.

This place was the closest so we figured we would check it out. We have been to many different Vape/Tobacco shops, and most are chill, helpful, kind, understanding, and have an overall pleasant demeanor. This place was nothing like that...As soon as my partner and I entered the shop, we noticed nobody on the floor. Not a big deal. A few moments later, we see the cashier, who I am assuming was the owner come out out from the back. His demeanor and tone in his voice when greeting us seemed a little hostile. He looks us up and down and says hello, and I say hello back and ask him how he is doing. He looks us up and down and doesn't respond.My partner inquired about what we assume was a tumbler for hash, and the guy seemed huffy about it. He says "what are you talking about? My partner replied "The vent?" Guy responds, "What?" My partner: "The blue box." The guy in a not so nice way was like, "You mean the tumbler? What about it?" My partner then replied, "Oh, just assumed it was something else. Sorry" Guy doesn't respond.Next order of business, we ask if they sold glass for vape mod tanks, he looks at us in a exaggerated and annoyed way, and says, "Yeah" sarcastically. We then say, "Okay, cool, do you also sell vape mod tanks?" He looks at me in a "Um, are you dumb?" Kind of way and says, "Yeeaaahh", again, in a rude and exasperated yet sarcastic manner.Never once did he ask what we wanted or needed, or how could he help us, and was right on the floor with us, like maybe a foot away, on top of us essentially, acting annoyed and upset as if we had done something wrong.We then just said, "Ya know what? I think we are just going to go." The guy doesn't even ask if there was something wrong, nor did he act like he cared.The man running the shop in general seemed irritated, and upset by our presence. Was absolutely rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional.I don't know what was wrong.We don't know what the guy's deal was.I don't wanna make assumptions, considering alot of the reviews of the new owner's attitude seems to be negative, but, needless to say, they were spot on.We are never coming back here again, and will advise our friends anyone in the area who vapes or uses tobacco like products or anything else to AVOID THIS SHOP.

I am in the customer sevice field myself and have had to wait several hours to have a break. Customers should always come first this is unacceptable! People like this should not work in this industry if they are not going to treat there customers fairly and with respect.

To top one of the ladys could not even add. After the one girl finishes counting her drawer. The other lady starts counting hers and turning and flipping each bill to purposely take longer. I will NEVER return there again.
