Heidi: I visited this store on 2/18/23. Beautiful store, very busy the day I was there, and great staff. Upon arriving back home in Bay City after my trip there I saw I was charged for an item twice. I called the store and was contacted promptly by the owner. He was kind and immediately offered a solution and fixed the problem. I wasn't sure if the problem could be fixed for a few reasons -- I lived out of area, paid cash, and didn't see the mistake until a day or so later. This was not a problem! The owner was very understanding, looked up my receipt, saw the mistake and made it right. You don't see this often enough anymore and I am so happy with the outcome. My daughter goes to school in the area and was showing me this store because it is one of her new found loves. Thank you to the staff and owner for your promptness in fixing this issue as well as your professionalism.

Collin Thomas: I stopped by looking for a NRSV Bible. When I asked the sales associate about this translation, she reacted with disdain. Nonetheless, she did show me where the Bibles were located, but did so in a passive aggressive manner. While many other commenters note that this store is well-stocked, I would argue the opposite. Of the various translations of the Bible, few were not KJV or the new KJV. I can understand the appreciation of this store if you are more conservative, but it does not fit its name as a church supply due to its preference for conservative commentaries. Had the sales associate been kinder, I would not feel the need to write this review. If you are conservative and want commentaries and translations that affirm your worldview, then this is the store for you. However, if you are a Dorothy Day style Catholic, I would find a different store.

Breanna Cathcart: This place is truly beautiful, it is small but there are so many things to look at. I’m from Detroit and came here with my grandma and son. Neither one of us have been here and the owner was extremely rude. I felt that she was watching my every move, she told my grandma very rudely to put on a mask even though the new law states that if you are fully vaccinated you do not have to wear one. There are only 2 people allowed in the store at a time but when a customer she knew wanted to come in she let her in. I personally did not want to buy a thing from her company for I do not like supporting businesses like this. But as stated above she does have amazing products but the customer services will make you want to walk right out. I have never been there and for her to keep customer I feel that she should be nice to the new ones too, not just the regulars.
Arya Ellesar: First and last time visiting. Last time we even tried to visit we waited for 40 min and only 4 people went ahead of us. We left before they had even come back out as at that point they had been in there for 20 min with no signs of coming out. We had a 1 year old with us and I had called ahead but we ended up leaving due to the length of wait. I thought that it was a bigger shop with lots of stuff which accounted for the wait. Went back today and found NOPE not the case. The whole store is about the size of my apartment living room. The older lady working today wasn't very nice, yeah she welcomed us. Then disappeared into the back room after we said we were browsing. When I actually went to ask a question I had to raise my voice to low yelling volume to get help. Then when getting herbs I was basically told that in order to get big orders I needed to order ahead. I only got 3 oz of product and that's considered bordering on a big order? One of the questions I asked I was given the answer to check out Spirit Dreams in East town. Considering the level of inconvenience we apparently caused and us and our child not being welcome. I think it now safe to say that Spirit Dreams which has been my local go to spiritual shop will continue to be so. Better selection and prices. I will NEVER be coming back as it wasn't worth the time and wasn't a very pleasant experience at all.

Spiritous: This was such a cute little shop packed with lots of amazing and unusual stuff. A lot of the items they carry are made by local artisans which I found to be refreshing. I wasn’t able to look at the tea selection bc it was roped off but it looks like an extensive collection.

Janelle Dixon: The process of making candles as a group was fun! The place is cute with lots of cute miscellaneous things to purchase as well. However, the customer service was a little unwelcoming and as a group we felt we were rushed through the process.
Ankita Guha: We had such a unique experience of building candles. You get to choose your own fragrance, shape of the candle holder and I think the candles came out amazing. It was part of one of my friends Bachelorette Party and I think it was such a fun activity to do with friends.
Lauren Perrin: I recently visited this wax poetic, custom candle shop and my experience was just okay. While the staff was friendly, I found the products to be extremely overpriced. It seems that you're paying more for the experience than for the actual products themselves.Although the ambiance of the store is lovely, I feel that the prices are a bit steep for what you're getting. While the idea of creating a custom candle is intriguing, the cost just doesn't seem worth it.Overall, I would recommend this shop if you're looking for a unique and enjoyable experience, but be prepared to pay a premium for it. If you're more concerned with the quality and value of the products themselves, you may want to consider other options.

Marketing Department: We celebrated our design team with a group candle-making experience at Wax Poetic. It was amazing! The space is beautiful, staff is extremely helpful, the whole process was easy and fun for everyone. Every scent in the building smelled incredible, it made it difficult to choose what you wanted to use! We can't work with Wax Poetic again in the future :)
Katie Degenhardt: Over 20 different scents to choose from with au least 4 smelling stations (all with the same scents) so you don't have to worry about lack of scent availability. Tables for two/four in addition to larger group tables. The process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to however long you choose to enjoy the environment.
Princess Sharp: Great concept only thing there are missing is coffee beans to cleanse the nose of all the fragrance. Soooooooo many options of scents to chose from. Maybe complimentary water but over all my guy enjoyed his self thought it was a cool date. So now I’m back with my next part to my review so the scent I picked worked out great it smells up myWhole en-suite I’m really happy with how my candle turned out and so is my man we love them and we will do it again !
Gina Rios: I think this is a really cool concept but in all honesty for how much you pay for the candle I was expecting that the customers would actually build their candle. When you go in, you pick the scents you want to combine, the container you like and you pour the scents, that is it. We were there for 20 minutes or less. I think it would be really cool and fun to be able to pour the wax with assistance and actually build the candle. After the store does the pouring for you, you have to come pick it up another day once it solidifies.
lisa4954: This was so much fun. We went to celebrate my birthday and mother's day. The only thing you will want to keep in mind is they take at least 2 hours to set. The one I made was 3 hours due to the size. We used the time to walk around and explore and get dinner.

You can choose between three different kits that include your choice to make 1 or 2 candles, soy wax, and your choice of 2 or 3 fragrances plus easy instructions and for those who like to see it visually, Wax Poetic has a video on YouTube.$30+ tax (1 candle) or $ 60+ tax (2 candles)My only complaint is I wish they offered more scent selections, don't get me wrong, their selection has 60+ scents, it would just be nice to have more.
Lauren Kelly: This was a cute place and a nice concept. I came here for a Bachlorette party and they had a nice seating arrangement for us around the bar. I was disappointed by the lack of what you do. All you do is pick a container, 3 oil scents, mix in a shot glass, dump them in the candle wax, and stir. That is the whole process. The candles are plain white and they pour the wax in. No colors or fun sprinkles or anything. It took about 10-15 minutes in all and was very expensive for what you did and got. They can do a lot more here for your money. I have attached my candle. This cost $50.

Drew: This is my favorite place for high end glass. Purple East has the best selection of high quality glass in grand rapids. They also jave great prices and friendly staff. It's a no brainer if you are looking for the best head shop in GR. The staff is super cool and knowledgeable. Makes you feel very comfortable and welcome. Don't overlook this spot. It's by far the best. If you are looking for it, they have it!!

william sarosy: Wish I could rate this a zero. I came here to buy a new oil pen for my cart. I told the guy exactly what I had (cart wise) and he pointed me away from the pen I had last time and sold me on a “Helix 2.0” for around $39. Got it home and found out my cartridge (platinum vape) wouldn’t slide down the chamber to the bottom where the magnet connected. The chamber width was too skinny.Went to return it the next morning(brand new, all packaging the same) and was told, “sorry but no exchanges or returns..” I feel so incredibly misled and swindled. I asked if it seemed right that I wasn’t informed of this before buying, and all I got was a “sorry.”Apparently my $39 is worth the entire lifetime of my purchases here. You had 100% of my business being right down the street, but you have now got 0%. I will share this with anyone I know. Terrible business.
