Grand Rapids Public Museum: what do users think?
Kenny Greene: Went here with my daughter after her sister's cheer competition! They had a Lego exhibit with a lot of unique builds! Many other exhibits also. Dinosaur bones and a running steam engine. Very cool museum. Stuff for all ages. Highly recommend for a family outing 💚💯💯Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More
samantha dubay: I love this museum! This was the first time I took my child. She had so much fun. If you visit Grand Rapids, this is a must! They have a Planetarium and also a restored, vintage carousel (reserve a time to ride, for free, when you get your tickets) I particularly love the "Vintage streets of yesterday" section where it looks Iike you are walking along a victotian era street at night. Parking is in a garage structure on the same street. It's $22 for the day.

Superbe !

Van Gogh Grand Rapids Exhibit: The Immersive Experience: what do users think?
Mad Curtis: It was absolutely amazing!! You got to see all of his art in the beginning, then went into the two different immersive experiences, after that there was bathrooms and a coloring station, finally you could pay $5 for the VR experience (I did it was 10 minutes and it was absolutely amazing!!). Plus during all sections of the exhibit there was tons of information on Van Gogh’s life and it was very informative. The gift shop was at the end and had so many amazing things. I loved this and it was well worth the money.
Taylor Zoerner: Nothing special. I was quite disappointed.
John Kapenga: An outstanding time. Decent pictures and information and then well done animated van Gogh images in an imersive environment followed by a VR walk through of some of his best known paintings...
Jess J.: seriously such an amazing experience!! the sunflower room was absolutely epic!!!
Virginia Porter: Love the entire exhibit.
Ericka Deforest: The entire exhibit was great! It was quiet, relaxing, peaceful. I spent almost 3 hours seeing everything but could have spent that much time just sitting in the one virtual room at towards the end.
Jessica Earl: Not worth the price and wouldn't go again. The main projector room was only one of two "experience" rooms. It was also insanely hot in there to the point where it was uncomfortable to stay for the duration of the display. There were also no baby changing stations in the restrooms.
Marti Birdsall: Totally incredible. I wish this would stay all the time. Well worth the price for tickets and I just can't put into words how awesome this experience was. 💜
Ashley Zielinski: Absolutely amazing, what a moving experience. The VR was so magical.
Sunny4Soleil: Absolutely adored this exhibit. It's gorgeous, informational, and I was moved to tears at several points. Brought my mom for Mother's Day and spend a lot in the gift shop
Jim B: Neat exhibit, a visual feast for the eyes. Pricey tho, you can spend a day at some amusement parks for less
lacee tyler: An absolute scam. Extremely unfortunate, not at all as described, not immersive, not at all worth $90 for 2 people to sit in a little room connected to hobby lobby for half an hour. I still feel like I’ve been robbed. I would like a refund
Greg Hilliker: Very interesting, enjoyable, and appropriate up-front with necessary information. Venue was not crowded. I cannot comment on VR because we did not add this time and cost to our visit
Joe Karns: Very cool experience. Highly recommend going.
Bob Reichert: Absolutely gorgeous exhibit.
Dennise Collazo: Beautiful experience!!! Loved walking through and seeing the art come alive right infront of you!!
Scott Moore: I’ll admit that my expectations were low owing to an unwarranted snobbishness, but the immersive experience was absolutely mesmerizing. It affected me deeply and, two weeks later, I’m still thinking of it. Take the kids and anyone you care about.
Gloria H: Got to attend this alone besides my date in the early afternoon I loved the miniature museum before the immersive experience. The staff were really nice. I visited another immersive Van Gogh exhibit in Indianapolis and it’s interesting that the two were so different
Marie Davis: Great way to pass some time
Tammy Nostrant: OMG we didn't even really know we were getting into when we went in there we were just curious about the place and it was just mind-blowing with a knowledge that it gives you and the beautiful paintings in the history about van Gogh the graphics on the green screen and just the stuff that they have in there was just amazing I was blown away.
April Robison: Very disappointed. It was not worth the price. Save your money.

Grand Rapids African American Museum & Archives (graama): what do users think?
Adam Brehob: It is much smaller than I thought it would be which was slightly disappointing, but the guy working there was very enthusiastic and informative about all the items on display. I hope to see it in the future when it is in it's full glory! Please do support the place if you can for now.

John True: But it's going to be get much better when they can move into their new space, I'm sure!Right now it's very small and hard to miss. Even with Google I sent a full circle passing it once from my parking garage :PBut there is a lot of heart and care about information here and research here! If you are in the area and have a moment you should go.He did not tell me who he read but the man working there seemed a great person and very easy to talk to.I'm only giving 3 starts because it is small and easy to miss, but I think it will be amazing in its new digs! They are still ironing things out so it will be awhile before this happens, but I wish them the best!
Jose Mejias: It was an interesting experience.
TRIPPPLEZ: The Children's Books! My Fav Part IS FOR THE KIDS OF THE FUTURE!!
Liesa Swejkoski: Close to parking garage which is a plus for me. Short walk. Small venue. Friendly docents. I learned a lot. I was hoping for more art by local African- American artists. Most was put away for the Henrietta Lacks display. She's my hero.
David Brown: This isn't a Museum, it's literally a room, please don't pay for parking, you'll waste two dollars or less, leave car running glimpse and come out.
Delma Washington: Like the quilt on lynching. Beautiful and delicate piece with a lot of thought and research put in it. The many people who have lost their lives what a tribute to them!
Alyssa Barber: This museum is overflowing with stories, artwork, artifacts, etc. I am excited to see them in a bigger space. Shoutout to George for being awesome and sharing a little bit of history and his journey with us during our visit.
a s: Similar review to others, a great place to visit with lots of information, with opportunity to buy original artworks. The space is small, but I had a nice conversation with George, a volunteer who mentioned a larger premises is being scoped out, which would hopfully give them the opportunity to also display their artifacts which are in storage. Some good local history and stories too
T B: Traveled from out of state to visit. I checked the website to confirm days/hours of business, and called the telephone number listed on the website to reconfirm. However, no one answers the phone, and when it goes to voicemail, the mailbox is full.****THANK U for the response. On my way to the airport, i had the opportunity to stop by for a quick visit. Very nice museum.
Sarah Hampton: I really like this place. So much history detailing the accomplishments of African Americans to this country, as well as the world.
Dawn Innes: Not much happening there
mike bolling: Very nice place just wish it was bigger
Lamont R Cole: This museum is a must see! Small in size, Large in knowledge!
alicia clarke: Wasn't much there to see
Patty Desrosiers: Very small not much on it. But had a great video on that we really enjoyed
