Went to this establishment and waited for 30min before I decided to leave, trust me their was at least 2 employees working if that's what you want to call it. Never said why they were not open on time. Employees their like to talk to their customer friends as the line slowly grows. People are in a hurry u as a customer just want to come in and leave and not hold a conversation with anyone. I arrived the other day at 8:30 sign on door says 8am paper on door says 9am needless to say I can see someone stocking shelves at 10am another employee arrives and I ask her when do you think and she replied I have no idea until I get in there. Come to find out she's the manager. Just food for thought if they can't keep their hours listed they can't keep my business.

Dawn Copenhaver: Website and store hours say this location opens at 8am. I stopped there today around 8:30 to grab a few things before work and all the lights were on with 2 gentlemen stocking shelves and the door locked. I called the location and they did not answer the phone. One of the employees came up to the window and shook his head at me to indicate they knew I was there but weren't unlocking the doors. I had to stop elsewhere to make my purchase. I will never attempt to do business there again.

The only thing that has changed right now is there hours at this location from 11am until 7pm because they dont have enough employees. Still no changes hours are still the same due to lack of employees.
Matthew Call: This family dollar turned out to be an excellent customer service experience amid an almost absence in the whole concept. The woman who helped us, more than once and without being asked for her assistance, was very kind and so sweet and just genuinely nice overall was very much appreciated. The woman whom was very tall with red hair deserves a standing ovation. Very well done family dollar, hopefully she will be recognized for the outstanding employee she is. 5 stars!

Barbara Palmer: What's wrong with the store, Family Dollar, 1121 Michigan NE? They are not open, they don't answer the phone, they don't even tell you if they're going out of business soon.Quite often, there are signs on the door saying they are closed when they are supposed to be open. You go online to check their hours, they say they are open. I know you can't rely on the computer all the time in terms of updates but for a store that has a habit of putting up signs saying they are closed even during daytime when they are supposed to be open, they should have a way of updating their hours online or just say they don't know when or how long they are going to be open everyday including weekends.I live just a couple of blocks from the store, and many times when I go there, they're closed when they're supposed to be open.Why don't they just tell the truth if they are going out of business soon and say that's what they're now doing gradually? People don't have to make trips to the store for nothing only to find signs posted saying the store is closed, especially when store employees don't even answer the phone when you could ask them how long they will be open on that particular day and even on the next day. That's if they are there at all!I really like shopping there, the prices are good, and it's just within walking distance from where I live. But it's disgusting when you go to the store only to find they're closed because you can't reach them on the phone to ask them how long they will be open. That's not the way to run a business. They make themselves look bad, really bad. Can't they do better than that? My family and I are looking elsewhere to shop, where the store is reliable in terms of price, hours and customers service.They shouldn't be in business. They don't seem to know what business means. Sloppy and disgusting.

Not to be that person, but it gets a little annoying getting off the bus, walking to Family Dollar, and then realizing they're closed so you have to wait 10 minutes for the next bus to arrive so you can go to Dollar General/Meijer instead.

Jansen: Used to be a good reliable neighborhood store to go to when one doesn't feel like going to the battleground that is Meijers, but recently discovered that they are never open when I stop there, sometimes they are closed before 3 in the afternoon! And multiple times this has happened. No updates on Google or any communication from staff as to their new "hours." One day I even asked them why they were closed on a Saturday and they denied that this ever happened.A pity since I used to shop here alot.

S Joyner: If I could give zero Stars I would. This is probably one of the most unprofessional establishments I've ever seen. Itis as if the crew members pick and choose what hours they want to be open and work. I have watched them tape signs up to their doors saying that they were going to be closed early due to technical difficulties and then step outside and smoke a blunt. The hours posted on the building say that they open at 8:00 a.m. but never have I seen them open at 8:00 a.m. I am physically here at 9: 15 and not one employee is here. It's a wonder that this store is even still in business.
Söl: Absolutely heinous location. I’ve never seen a more disastrously run store in my entire life. Their hours are erratic, the management is disorganized, and the employees are incredibly rude.The store itself is always dirty, disorganized and ill-designed. There’s no possible way it’s OSHA compliant, you couldn’t fit a wheelchair in the front doors let alone down the aisles.On the days that the cashiers actually DO open the store (rather than leaving it closed during their normal working hours) they ignore customers and are either impolite or inappropriately flirtatious when they do interact with them. The only decent manager that actually did a good job at this store was fired and the others aren’t worth even hazarding to go to this location.I don’t know how this store hasn’t been closed, but I pray that it is shut down soon. It’s utterly deplorable.

Michael Stratton: I wish I could just be like these people and shut down my entire place of employment whenever I don't feel like comming into work. Must be a pretty awesome place to work. Not so great from the customers perspective. Sure, three day weekends are cool, I'm for workers benefits too, but put it on the official hours so people know to not walk there on that day.

Marti Birdsall: On this recent visit, employees were restocking and their carts and boxes were blocking the shelves, too heavy for me to move. Then I was told I could not use my own reusable bags. This store has nearly permanent "no cash back" policy at the cash register. Store clean but disheveled, snappy employees. Short staffed.
Grace Production: 02/10/2023-Today we went to that shop / It was 9:00 in the morning / When we arrived at the shop, it was not open yet / A worker came to the shop / He had the key to the shop / The shop did not open the door / Their shop sign also said that it opens at 9:00 every day / I asked her / I asked her to wait for 10 minutes/ But her shop opened at 9:20 / I tried to wrap it to buy a sound speaker in the shop / She said I couldn’t wrap it / I apologized / I asked her / I bought it, can I return it if it's broken?/She said no/So I asked how I can buy it/She got angry and called the police/Should she treat customer like this?/I feel like it's racial power/Because other people look at it the same way/She didn't say anything/I think that is not right.I will never go again in my life😁😁😁😁😁😁😁🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
An Tawi: Today, my wife and i went to shop at this store and 1 of the worker she was treaded us like we are so dumb. She siad to us your are so stupid use your eyes to look etc...she raised her voice yelling at us. We are from a different country and doesn't speak English well. She was very rude to us. I would never go back there.

Tania Zawyes: This is my family dollar! I shopped here a lot. But after experiencing the manager I am so done with this store. My kids got so scared of her after she yelled at me for asking the sales items questions 2 times. I’ve been told from a few people not to go to this location because they’ve had bad experiences with the manager but I kept coming because I have not experienced anything yet until it finally happened. She will bark at you if you don’t talk the way she wanted/expect/asked. If you still shop at this place please be mindful when you talk the manager and you’ll be ok.
Megan Smith: I’ve went to this establishment at least 20 times and it is closed. When they should be open. Went today at 5pm on a Thursday. Multiple people inside and closed. You might as well close this location down at this point. You lose so much money on it being “closed”. I think your employees are taking advantage at this point.

Aaron Cason: On Sunday January 10, 2021 I came to this location to make a return that I had made earlier that day from another Family Dollar location. EDNA (Dena) as she stated her name was. Who told me she was the Assistant Manager checked my bag upon entering the location because I set the security alarm off. As she begin to check my bag she stated that the basket that I had in the bag was not theirs and was not an item Family Dollar stores stocked. Unfortunately I didn’t have the original tags that were attached to the item but did in fact have my receipt which displayed the item sku and serialized information. After she stated this wasn’t an item of this locations I asked if it was possible for her to call another location to verify the basket. She in fact refused and told me that I would have to go back to that location. I also asked her, if a manager could assist me with this? She then told me it’s not worth her calling her manager while she’s at home and that I should leave her store. I have shopped Family Dollar for a long time and also held corporate positions in retail. I believe Edna lacks professionalism and respect for others and I will be sure to share this to let others know she does not represent the company well. I was able to make the return from the original location who’s staff was extremely helpful and apologized on Edna’s behalf and they in fact mentioned that Family Dollar is not a franchise so items purchased at one location can be returned at another as long as the items are unused. (Which in fact mine was) I know I didn’t walk into Saks Fifth or Neimans but I do feel wherever I shop i should be able to do so with respect.

They went to check out with a special little present for my three-year-old and were told by an extremely rude cashier (she claim to be the manager) Who took the stuffed animal and said she would not sell it to them because it was out left from Valentine’s Day and she was supposed to have cleared the shelves. My mother-in-law asked if she can’t sell it to her what was she going to do with it, she replied “throw it out”.My three-year-old left the store crying! Seriously? I can’t really even believe it...This was a small thing that was made a big deal for absolutely no reason. It was not their fault the item was left on the shelf to purchase and my little girl fell in love with it. You should talk to your employees (or this “manager”) that was working today around 1pm.
