CETUSA: what do users think?
Pilar Tapias: Hemos enviado a nuestra hija desde España a EEUU, siendo Cetusa la organización que operaba alli. La experiencia ha sido muy negativa. Intentad elegir otra organización más seria y profesional.
Rodrigo Touceda: Mala experiencia. Han devuelto a mi hija 2 meses y medio antes de que finalizara el curso escolar y ahora tiene que repetir curso en España por motivos poco solidos. Hay otras organizaciones mucho más serias
Chloe Jackson: My family has hosted 7 exchange students throughout the past 7-8 years and we have never had a bad experience. It is a great way to learn and open your mind to others cultures while also being able to share yours in a respectful way. The company's number one priority is student safety which is important.I have thoroughly enjoyed having exchange "siblings" throughout the years and staying connected with them on some level. What's also important to note is making sure you find a student who is a good fit into your family and doesn't have completely different interests. That will really help the school year go better!
Sean Dine: CETUSA has helped make hosting an exchange student a dream. My local coordinator, Tanya and regional director Krystal, helped us and our students have a successful year.
taylor quijada: My family and I have hosted 3 exchange students from different countries, who Bridget helped set up with my family. We loved each experience we had and have made lifelong friendships with the students. We have been able to visit the exchange students and they have visited since too. We are very thankful for CETUSA and Bridget for giving us the opportunity to host and meet the students we have. Highly recommend hosting an exchange student.
Megan Doty: This is our first year hosting and we are anxiously/excitedly awaiting the arrival of our first student. Our experience so far has been wonderful! Our coordinator, Ashley from Iowa, helped us find the perfect fit for our family. We have already spent a lot of time talking to and getting to know our exchange daughter and her family. We are busy planning a fun year with her and our family! Everyone in our house is counting down the days. Thanks to CETUSA and Ashley for everything you've done!
Kathy Marson: CETUSA is an amazing international student exchange program. My daughter-in-law, Karissa Marson, has worked for them for over 11 years and is very passionate about the work she does. From Local Coordinator, to Regional Director, to Placement Director, she's worked very hard to match host families with the perfect students, to quickly solve any issues for students and families, and to make work fun for coordinators and directors. #Nacho Average Team
Samantha Huff: Ashley M from Iowa cares so much about making sure these kiddos get matched with families that are perfect for them! She also cares so much about the host families wishes and obstacles and works so hard to help with anything she can so things work out.
ashley kollbaum: Anita is amazing! She always answers all questions and phone calls promptly! She has been a huge help, and is so positive and encouraging!
Emily Roberts: I am still eagerly awaiting the arrival of my student from Thailand, but I have no doubt he will be a perfect fit for our family. Ashley M in Iowa went to the greatest lengths to find our perfect match and has made this whole process so easy! I can't wait to have this experience with our student and her! 10 out of 10!! Thanks for all your hard work Ashley!
Kaylie Howard: Karissa Marson is exceptional, superb and I highly recommend her! She always packs a smile to show up to work and put her best foot forward. #youaremyhero #TeamKarissa
Shayshay Welch: CETUSA is a wonderful exchange student program!! I have been with CETUSA over 5 years. Two years we hosted a girl from Denmark and a boy from Spain. Great experience!! Loved learning new culture in hosting and coordinating. The best moments are when I see the excitements on the student’s faces when they go to prom or when they go to their first football game or even a trip to Walmart!! Karissa M. has helped me grow as a coordinator!! She has also made my hosting experience better by her being a coordinator for me!!
Brittany Rushing: I have been working with CETUSA for 2.5 year and love it! I started as a local coordinator and recently moved to the LA regional director position! All of my success would not be possible without my amazing PD, Karissa! 🎉
Brittany Dyer: I have been hosting since 2016. I absolutely love this organization. Karissa M. was and still my coordinator. She had truly been amazing.
Christina Baker: Hosting with CETUSA is so easy to get started. Mayah Bischoff is a wonderful Regional Director and makes the process flow seamlessly.
Pam Mull: Such an amazing organization to work with. We have hosted 14 boys and 3 girls. All such wonderful experiences. Coordinator sees the student, school and us monthly. They planned fun monthly activities too. Our coordinator was easily accessible.
Doug Ransom: Our experience with CETUSA was positive for our entire family from beginning to end! Our exchange student was a remarkable person who will continue to be part of our family forever! We also couldn’t have been more pleased with our coordinator, Kimmie! She was helpful and supportive from beginning to end- even checking in with us well after our student had returned home.
Anita Sass: Hosting an exchange student with CETUSA was the best experience I ever had we hosted Giada from Italy the year of COVID.
janine andersen: We hosted an exchange student for the 2021-2022 school year through CETUSA. It was our first time hosting an exchange student. We had a fabulous year. We loved how involved our local coordinator Jessica was with our student and with us. Great communication, very responsive, fun student and family outings. We loved meeting other families and students through CETUSA. Our student quickly became a member of our family. Our kiddos had so much fun hosting they asked us if we could host again. We are hosting our 2nd student through CETUSA for the 2022-2023 year and we are so excited for the new year to begin!!
Lucia Grazioli: Karissa Marson was the best! I had the opportunity to live with her and I can say that she was not only a great host mom but also a great local coordinator and placement director. She put all of herself in the job and was ready to help everyone in every moment of the day and the night. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Rosanna Trevisan: We hosted a 17 year old girl from Italy for the 2021-22 school year. Our experience with CETUSA and our local coordinator, Bridget was great. We especially liked group activities with other foreign students. For one activity, we hosted a group event at our house where all the foreign students with the same local coordinator brought dishes from their respective countries. And another time Bridget and I took a small group of students to see a Christmas parade and Christmas lights. Such a great group of young people.Additionally we were thankful for CETUSA for assisting with medical insurance and travel issues when our student’s return flight was canceled. I would highly recommend being a host family.

Heart of West Michigan United Way: what do users think?
B J: The website used to be easy to navigate but now it is confusing to get the answers you want.
Sirjaymes: The organization has allowed some of the most vulnerable in the community to fall through the cracks. Although never benefited from their service (even when in need) I have always supported the Heart of West Michigan United Way. I can no longer support this organization after I discovered that organization has imposed a prohibition on providing assistance From the tax payer funded CERA program to needy individuals and families who live in motels. The purpose of the CERA program was to provide help to those who have been negatively affected by the pandemic. This prohibition is not only grossly unfair it penalizes those who are most impacted by the pandemic solely on the basis of their living situation. The denial fails to account that many individuals including myself have been forced to live in motels as a direct result of COVID pandemic. When allocating these funds neither state or federal guidelines established the prohibition. Therefore it is and wrong for United Way to arbitrarily imposed guidelines for the benefits which and others would otherwise qualify for.
Vanessa M Mielke: Could be more helpful.
Taniqua Williams: Beautiful
Dan Maloney: They prepare my taxes every year. Awesome staff.
Elizabeth Szucs: So nice people !
Floyd Young: Free tax service
Timothy Conley: Wonderful organization!! Great staff!! Extremely helpful. Very considerate.
AnewMei Akuah: If you are STRANDED & need help due to emergency this organization is NOT the place. They refuse to help or offer other possible resources and kept stating there’s nothing they can do. But still tried to gather irrelevant info from you.
kevin hagler: This organization give so much to our community, my hats off to them, their mission and community concern is a welcome change to some of the polarized views these days. If you have the time or money consider them a worthwhile organization!
Eddie Tadlock: Contributing dollars to the community for 100 years. A great organization serving the needs of West Michigan.
