Street Eats GR: what do users think?
Aelin O’Meara: Went for NYE. It was our first time at either of their locations. It was a set menu which we didn’t expect, but seeing that it was a major dining holiday, it wasn’t all that surprising. We had the shrimp cocktail, lobster bisque, rib eye steak, the poached monkfish, and we each had the cheesecake and wine pairings for each course. We’ve been telling absolutely everyone about this place since. We STILL rave about the steak and the wasabi based cocktail sauce. The service we got was so personal - our reservation was at 4pm so the place was pretty dead - and our server was more than happy to tell us all about the wine and the food and the restaurant in general. The pairings were PERFECT. Clearly a lot of thought was put into the choices for the menu.I’m going to miss the tailored experience, but I’m excited for our next date night here anyway.
Colleen: Shady owners, unsafe outdoor bar that resulted in the death of a friend. Don’t give them your money.

Nina Arnold: I wanted to go to a nicer place for dinner tonight with some family. A lot of restaurants were booked full or just didn't do reservations/could have a long wait. I remembered that there was Sandy Point and checked their hours on Google and their website. Both said it was open. So I made a reservation through Sandy Point's website (which took me to Open Table) and I had no issues making a reservation for 7:30 pm tonight (11/30). We get there and it's closed. No sign on the door, no notice on the website, nothing. This was frustrating especially since I was able to make a reservation?? If they do this to you, go across the street to Garage Bar and Grill. It's a different atmosphere but has great food and drinks. Oh and they're actually open when they say they are.
Amber Troupe: My server Paige was great! Lovely wine recommendations paired with our dishes.Parking: Nice parking for being located downtown.
Mark Pearson: Not ready for Restaurant Week 2022.Made a Friday night reservation for 6:30 and we were on time. Seated right away, but no wait staff visit by 6:45 (water only). Plus, their R.W. offering is a little on the expensive side. We didn't stay to see if it was worth it.Service: 1/5 …More
Mary Pearson: Made a reservation. Seated at reservation time. No service for 15 minutes, while tables seated after us had ordered. Do not sign up for restaurant week if you are not prepared to serve patrons. Manager apologized and offered no solution.Service: 1/5|Atmosphere: 2/5 …More
Sherry Brown: Great food. Limited menu. No coke (or Pepsi) nice service. Had the fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised by the dozen of tiny potatoes that came with it. Fish had a perfect crust and big flaky white meat. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Hubby was happy with the burger and fries.
Lisa El Alam: Staff was friendly, atmosphere was nice. We sat outside and was seated immediately. Food presentation was ok, but flavor of food was mediocre. We got the fish and chips and Ribye. Ribye was cooked to perfection, but the sauce it layed in was not so great. The rice batter on the fresh fish was undercooked, but the fried baby potatoes were 😋 needed a bit more seasoning and perhaps some Malt vinegar options. I don't think we will be back here again unless the menu changes up. Thanks foe the friendly service! 💯
Jay Kroll: Excellent food, attentive service, and great local music!
David Alvarez: Food and drive great. The service and people are wonderful. Live DJ on Wednesday's. Nice spot to hang out for a night.
Frank H Meissner IV: Visiting Grand Rapids for the 1st time and found this hidden gem. Great atmosphere, awesome food and very friendly staff. A must go!!😃😃😃😃😃
Heather Hasto: Seated, got water 15 minutes they STILL HAD NOT COME TO TAKE OUR ORDER!!! There was only 1 other table occupied(no wonder!)
Tamtam Sloto: Bartender friendly, though not much options for food. Won't go back
Carley Morrison: Great experience! The food was perfect and service was awesome. Can't wait to come back and try more!
Kelsey Spoelman: Excellent food menu both indoors and at the food trucks. Amazing staff and very talented bartenders. I absolutely recommend trying to catch some live music on their patio.

Mackenzie Dunn: Do not recommend. Truly awful experience. My family and I came after graduation for a nice dinner. The food was so subpar. Small portions and overpriced. Worst of all was that the waiter was probably the rudest service I have ever experienced. I have been to many nicer, more expensive restaurants than this and have never been treated this way. We all left very disappointed and honestly upset at how rude, snooty, and unpleasant the server was. There are so many better places in GR, I would not waste your time, money or aggravation.

M Walls: Service is always great, and so is the food. (2017)Update, was almost not seated for my reservation because the server was not there yet. Once started I had patience but after an hour and a half it wore thin. Food was still great. (2022)Food is still great! (2022)
Caleb Rights: Thank you to our serve for the outstanding service up at the bar! He made an amazing suggestion to get the Pork Chop! It is unlike anything you can get in Grand Rapids. It is caramelized on the outside, sprinkled with cheesy bites, and laid on a bed of delicious grits. Along side it also has pickled apples which are surprisingly one of the best parts. We also got a burger that is on special every Tuesday and it was very good and affordable.FYI I’m a pretty sure the Reserve has every wine bottle you can think of lolHighly recommend 🤩🤩
Davidsonian: Incredible selection of wine. Service is above and beyond. Food selection is excellent! Dry aged bone in ribeye, calamari, and even chips and dip with caviar! This will be a special place for a dinner date!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Rachel Wright: Always have great food here, and our waiter was very helpful with food and wine recommendations

Brittany Mastenbrook: Comfortable date spot downtown that feels unique and updated in its seasonal dishes. I appreciate experiencing a vegan option at a fancier place and felt valued that they asked ahead of time about dietary restrictions and allergies.Dietary restrictions: The staff checks in about dietary restriction in addition to letting you browse the menu. They're great with accommodations, especially making a dish vegetarian!
Nathan Ver Beek: Enjoyed our visit to Reserve tonight on Valentine's Day.The food was excellent. The duck was one of the better renditions we've had. The carved sirloin was perfectly cooked, and the sauce that came with it was amazing. The atmosphere and cleanliness is top notch. The cocktails were just ok, but that's not too surprising since Reserve's focus is wine. The service is very relaxed, so prepare to spend some time here.
Erika: Talk about a romantic date night. I wouldnt recommend this if you have kids bc it is expensive. The food was top notch and each wine can be paired to the meal. The wine will come with a note explaining its details.I would love to visit once more. Exceptional service from a waiter who obviously memoried the food and drink menu.Visited Feb 2018
Zachary Jenkins (Xavier Files): Held a business dinner in one of their private rooms. Nick and his team did a fantastic job keeping the pace of the evening moving with great food and drinks. Would recomend.
Kathie and Mike Austin: It must have been Kismet that the Reserve saved us from a "lost" reservation elsewhere and expertly managed our family gathering of 10 on Saturday night. We tried many of the appetizers and entrées, which were extremely well described and presented by the staff. Rarely have we found so many selections to be so flavorful at one meal. Our family is involved with the restaurant industry in Jackson, Ann Arbor, and Cleveland and do not hand out such praise lightly. Next time we hope to try even more from the wine selection.
Julia Dart: Way over priced for the value and quantity of food you get. Under impressed
Cait L: Definitely my favorite place a date night or a night out with the girls. It can get pricy with the wine flights and appetizers, but the ambience and service is top notch!
Hassan Saleh: I have been here twice now for work dinners and both times I wasn’t impressed. The portions are miniature and the food is average. This last dinner I was there and got butterball gnocchi to go for my wife which actually was tasty but for $19 the portion was beyond ridiculous. I honestly don’t know if they accidentally gave me too little or that was the actual size.Overall, decent food, average atmosphere, over priced for portion sizes. You can pass on this place.Came again for another dinner 🤦‍♂️And portions seem to have somehow gotten smaller, check out their bass dish. I put the fork over the plate to give you an idea. Definitely going to get dinner after this.
Courtney Uecker: Our experience was okay. We ordered a bottle of wine, 3 piece cheese board, 2 pastas, an entree and two desserts. I poured most of the bottle of wine myself. I will say the waiter did pour it once after the initial opening and did have 4 tables one being an 8 top. The entrees (pork Ragu, seafood linguine, and duck breast) were all cold, however tasted good. We didn’t say anything because again they tasted good we just wished they were warm… not even hot. Just warm haha. Then we ordered desserts, my boyfriend was excited to have the cherry citrus sorbet. He had wanted a sorbet at a pervious restaurant and they were out. It was also his 30th birthday. Unfortunately, the citrus must have been grapefruit because all you could taste was bitterness. No cirtus, no tart or sweet cherry flavor. Just bitter. The waiter did stop by to apologize for forgetting a candle for him… which was disappointing but fine. However, my boyfriend being more outspoken than me asked for the icecream (pistachio lime) instead. I was excited that perhaps the waiter would then put the candle in there to only be disappointed once again. My boyfriend did really enjoy the icecream so I am happy for that sake. I don’t think I will be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone due to the expectation and lack of execution.
Mel T: As season ticket holders for Broadway Grand Rapids' 2021-22 season, my partner and I have been wanting to try Reserve (one of their restaurant partners) all year. I'm glad we got a chance to try the food, but do not feel welcomed back. Our primary server greeted us with "Welcome, friends!" and was very nice, conversational, well-versed in the menu, etc. Drinks & entrees came and went without issue. When the check came, we mentioned that we wanted to redeem a 20% off offer from Broadway Grand Rapids and our server's demeanor took a complete turn (stopped smiling and referring to us as "friends," spoke few if any words to us at that point). Understandably, we had inconvenienced them by having a new check printed but the animosity we received in return felt unwarranted...
