Grand Rapids Public Library: what do users think?
Judiah Taylor: Cool experience
Lynn Strough: Thank you so much for all that you do! I especially want to thank employees Sam Easter & Atti Betts for assisting me - they were wonderful! I needed some last minute prints for a project, and was having some trouble figuring it out, and they stepped right up and helped me immensely. It’s so great to run across people with such great customer service skills. Keep doing what you’re doing there, it’s much appreciated!!
Miranda DeZeeuw: Fantastic library. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Huge selection of books, materials, events, and resources for the community. An absolutely gorgeous building too.
James: It's a quiet place to go to to study, read, or use the computer... The staff are very knowledgeable, helpful , and willing to help out 8n any that they can... The service is very respectful and plentiful...
Rob T: So for my first time at the library I was on my way out with a friend, went to the elevator and hit floor 1, and went to the basement without hitting the LL button and we got stuck in the elevator for like 10 minutes, 5 minutes just me and my buddy then luckily a maintenance man heard me singing " hello, is it me your looking for, I see it in your eyes" then he popped up got in the elevator, so we had to explain what happen and the door shut, then we were really stuck with him, if he didn't get a bar on his phone it could of been a panic issue but his co worker came to the rescue on the outside of the elevator got us out and on our way to the back elevator for the loading dock. Holy cow was a crazy time. Survived a Elevator Crisis. Now I use the steps even though it hurts badly to use them, not chancing lol.. but beautiful place, and such friendly staff that help get you what you need or in the direction you need. Thank you all
Zach Morrison: Great place to hang out and spend time with kids
Lauren Patchett: My favorite library. Everyone is helpful and the selection is great!
Price -: To the self-righteous, holiers-than-thou complaining about the "homeless"... there may be a few, in the Public Library, but it is a huge multi-level building with plenty of empty tables to sit away from those you disapprove of. Go buy your own library. This one is clean, safe, and beautiful.
Rainy: Great community space and learning opportunities. The staff are always welcoming and helpful, and there are so many great resources to be found. Very inclusive and accepting of all people, and the main branch is pretty wheelchair friendly. And, of course, they have great books.
Damir “Grof” Kesar: One of the largest libraries in GR area, well stocked and with a lot of programs you would not expect at a library.Definitely recommend coming here.
QL QL: Not impressed overall. Homeless people live there. The old section (high ceiling like church) looks impressive but is still under renovation.
Rebecca Carrier: Great community resource and a wonderful selection of used books, DVDs, and CDs for sale on the 3rd floor for cheap
Benjamin Stitt: They have lots of books. It's quite wonderful.
j.j. bobasho: Found what I went looking for, plus learnt how to read microfiche (: thank you!
Daniel S: The library itself and the staff are very nice, but the homeless bums make it difficult to stay for long. They smell really bad! They talk to themselves, or others; sometimes loudly. The bathrooms they use for long periods of time. I see them eating, sleeping, shaving, and other weird things. But my biggest complaint is they smell!
Meghan S: Grand rapids has an expansive and impressive public library system! The app is easy to use, the branches are conveniently placed around town, the staff are always welcoming and kind, and I appreciate library efforts to get involved in the communities of GR. The main library is beautiful and I could get lost looking at all the books and city records. Thanks GR for providing the public with an excellent library service!
Krystah Renee Mentser: Very beautiful library. Loved the booksale!book sale! We WILL be back if they do it again!
Cidette Gilmer: Building of knowledge 🤓
Antonio Parker: Come absorb good fun and family
Joshua McAlpine: Great public library. Lots of kids stuff and food cultural events
Megan Rose: Absolutely nice people the lady's I dealt with were very kind, caring & helpful I was able to get my business taken care of for free that was a blessing

Annie Schmieder: Very friendly and helpful!!!
Patricia Murray: Staff are very welcoming and helpful! Great customer service, great library!
Erica Jones: Librarian was super helpful in making sure that I got everything I needed!
Bill Cleveland: Impossible to say too many nice things about this library branch. The collection is pretty standard for a branch location. Great customer service when requesting a library card, checking out a book, or seeking help finding something. Looking forward to my next trip to the library!
Lyree Adams: Always helpful and great resource!
Christina Noe: I use this library to pick up interlibrary loans and they're always pleasant to work with. Today I brought my 3 year old daughter for the first time (we usually go to a KDL library) and she had a blast playing in the kid area! They have a strong selection of picture books.
Glenn Perian: Awesome family storytime program this Wednesday. The librarians could not have been better or more engaging with the kids. Really great
Tina Metzger: The workers are absolutely the most pleasant people & extremely helpful. Love this branch of the library.
Kathie Black: This library's curbside pickup option has been a lifesaver during the pandemic. Staff who bring out the books are so friendly...snow, rain or shine!
chris anderson: I love my neighborhood library, everybody that works there is awsome!
Sonny Stout: Great staff very nice and competent.
Lynn Glahn: We moved here a year ago and are SO impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of staff and the availability of book titles. Thank you...
Ladell Eaton: The people was very helpful and confident and concerned thank them very much.
Jeri: Went for curbside pick up. Well organized and as always, staff is great
Eva C. Metz: Very nice location!
Robert Hartung: Staff is always kind helpful and always willing to Assist with ANYTHING YOU NEED!!! Wish they were open MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!
Jasmin, Jay Polack: This place is so awesome
A. T.: Friendly staff from the last two times I’ve been here including today. I picked up some books through Melcat that my KDL Kentwood and East Grand Rapids branch didn’t carry.I don’t feel the same friendliness, comfort and atmosphere as I do at the KDL locations just mentioned. It’s an individual preference. It’s great that GRPL and KDL work in conjunction, great system.
Zach Morrison: Lots of everything, books, movies, things for kids to do.
白君德: A small local library that I have been going to for over 15 years with satisfaction. They have a great children’s section and good computer stations.
Thalia Rasberry: The staff here are very rude to their guests. I simply asked to have a guest pass because I lost my library card and the would not me have one. I try helping my sister to learn how to read but some of the staff are preventing that from happening.

Grand Rapids Public Library - West Leonard branch: what do users think?
Derick Bailey: Staff greets you enthusiastically as soon as you cross the threshold! Everything is clean, neat, and organized.
Caroll D.: Great. I love it not only because it's close, but the people who work there are friendly and helpful.
James Tasker: Employees we're very helpful
Barbara StADT: This library is one of the best additions to our West Side neighborhood in many years. The staff is helpful and the inventory is small but varied with many options to find just what you need.
Terry Roberts: Efficient friendly staff ...great place overall
Sheri Monroe: My family and I LOVE this library! The children's area is so much fun with several different toys, computers and tons of kids books. My two kids just love it and the librarians are so kind and helpful. I apologized for my baby not having a "library voice" because she's at the squealing age and the librarians were so kind. My son always have loads of questions for them and they're always happy to answer and never seem bothered. What a great resource for local families!
Adrianna Shook: I love the west Leonard library, the staff are so helpful and friendly. Books are easy to find for my new reader. The have fun activities for kids and ABC mouse on the computer s. The adult movie selection and books are great too.
Jim Schultz: Good selection of discard books & Dvd$ for sale.
P LO: Love my local library❤
William Julien: Like this local library branch. They have a nice selection on the shelf and are conveniently located on the west side. Helpful knowledgeable staff.
Keasha West: Totally awesome as always they have stem projects for the summer, we made invisible ink going back next week for one. Get one its free
Vonda Gardner: Good
Kristi Benton: The staff are very friendly and helpful making for a very pleasant experience.
Miranda Campbell: I didn't realize the inside was closed, but the clerk was extremely helpful and patient. He made sure to pick a few awesome books for my daughter to read and sent us home with crafts and a mindfulness box that we really enjoyed! Thanks a ton!
Belteshazzar Mouse: GRPL to Go is great! They are really taking patron safety seriously. They continue to quarantine books appropriately. The staff has been amazing every time I have used either the parking spaces or walk up windows. I understand that it is difficult for people that need computer time or other patron services. However, the staff are incredible front line workers that really deserve a hand!
Alex Akaakar: Social distance was observed
M B: First and foremost the layout is very easy to figure out. Second, the library staff are very helpful. Third, the childrens section being arranged by literacy level is very well appreciated by myself. My son has found a desire to start chapter books early... hes turning 5. Reading is something my family adores, and this library has made it a simple task to find a book for myself in the nonfiction, either by calling it in or finding it on a shelf... all within eye/earshot of the childrens section. I can let my son play and feel secure. The childrens section book aisles are somewhat a subtle maze, that my son finds discouraging to run through, which thank you to whomever decided on that layout, it is helpful. Lastly, the library is clean and the ink smell of books is the fresh kind. It is nice to know that the library and the grpl system cares about library maintenance. Thank you for being our library.❤
David Sefton: Great place with fun children’s programs
Barb Szymanski: Went to print my resume. A young man helped me figuire out. I think his name was Tyler. Very friendly.
Ruth VanHoven: Nice quiet place. Great place to have coach sessions.
Timothy James Ladner: I love going to the library.

Shelby Denhof: I love this neighborhood library! The staff is very friendly. The space itself is warm and welcoming. This library is a great service to the community.
Sheri Monroe: My kids and I frequent the West Leonard branch as we live right down the road. We came to the Westside branch tonight as our local branch is closed on Fridays. We were so impressed by how awesome the children's area is! Toys galore, books galore, so much space! My kids LOVED it! We also were able to get some take-home craft kits that were well stocked. The staff was so kind and accommodating and we will absolutely be back!
robert schutt III: It is a great place for kids, tons of activities and of course books. Morning time is the best time to go. The ladies behind the desk are always so nice and helpful.
Loretta M: Yes The staff are very friendly 😊
Lizzbeth Katt: Friendly helpful employees !
Candie Reece: Absolutely a great library they are so helpful with anything you need. Wonderful staff at this location
Johnna Pierce: Staff was very helpful and nice.
wesley dexter: Great place
Mari Sundell: I think the main branch here in downtown Grand Rapids is the best Library in Kent County. They have awesome read programs for both children and adults. And the Summer Event series are always awesome. The library is always well staffed with friendly and knowledgeable employees. In its entirety it is always very clean. It's wheelchair accessible, and there is a large parking area.
Underrated Jay: Got in 13 minutes before close and asked to print a label out. They said the computers are closed 15 minutes before close. No offer of additional assistance and this information isn’t visible anywhere. Won’t be back.
Nutrition Treatment: When I called, Kelly answered my questions quick and easy!
Donna Lynema-Buchanan: Staff on Bridge branch and Leonard branch are all awesome. Wish they had more than 1 book sale a year though
Mark: there are many books and large reading areas I also like the computer room is in its own private room
Erik Slagter: Friendly staff, cool historic building, and decent selection. It's easy to get what you would want even if they don't have it. The GRPL system is quite vast.

Grand Rapids Public Library - Yankee Clipper Branch: what do users think?
Shelley Fraser: Stopped in to print some items for work. Librarians were very helpful. Renewed my card while I was there.
Michelle Kooi: Cute little library with a lot of resources. The staff is friendly and super helpful. I do wish they had a larger selection rather than having to browse online or get a hold. This library has two floors with the top being where the materials are and the bottom having offices and meeting spaces. There is parking on both sides of the building and a book return drive thru. You can get to this library via Leonard or Perkins. However if you park at the lower level, you will need to take stairs to get to the main entrance.
Ann Hackney: Found what i was looking for
Lauren Duffield: I love bringing my 2 little boys here. They have a GREAT kids play area with the coolest toys and pirate ship. I love that unlike the downtown library, it is small enough for me to browse books for myself while the kids can play safely and in my sight. They also have a huge selection of board games. We set up mouse trap and "played" for a good hour last week. They have great little take and make grab bags with different crafts and everything you need to make them.
Falon Anjel: The movie on the lawn was a good experience with the kids :)
Sandra Fernandez-Tardani: I love my library.Staff has always been helpful with everyone. Thanks to all of the librarians for your hard work!

kym lle: Very Helpful & Friendly

Jacob Stillson: The staff were great on all my visits. They called me before I got home to let me know I dropped my library card. Great folks and coffee is available for $1. Nice view, plenty of seating, cool kids stuff on the lower level.
Gerald Harris: Great place to focus and study.
kayy lee: Went here to get my new library card & check out a book. The guy who helped me was so nice! Explained all the benefits like audiobooks I can access with my card. I used to go to KDL when I was younger & it’s so nice seeing people in the library & lots of new book selections. Definitely will be going more now :)
DSR: This library is fine, my review is for KDL as a whole. There are no late fees, which is great for irresponsible patrons. Unfortunately now nobody returns their items on time. Pair that with the fact that KDL doesn't have enough copies of the classics and you often have several people waiting a long time with holds on these important books. Either bring back the late fees or invest in more copies of the classics. If you don't know which books are classics, then being a librarian is probably a poor choice for you. Referencing the Mensa Excellence in Reading lists would be a good start.
Benjamin Hirsch: Holy grail of holy grails
Sara S.: A larger KDL library branch. I really enjoy it because there are tons of spaces to sit if you’re working or studying.
Matthew Aguilar: An amazing resource for anybody. Everything is free and the atmosphere in all the branches is very welcoming and helpful.
Emily Moore: This library has a great view and is always super quiet. I love the study rooms available.
Steve Grody: Amazing place. Great kid zone downstairs. Hoping they can get some shade up on the roof deck
Dikkk Mower: Always a pleasure to visit this branch on the lake.
Neil Carlson: Libraries in general are invaluable. This one is also marvelously beautiful. Sit on a bench to read by the lake on a warm summer's eve, or sit in a comfy chair by the big plate glass windows and watch the lake from cozy indoors on a cold winter's day.
Kris Shannon: Great branch, staff always nice. Local history room makes this one even more unique. Good array of services.
Lina Herrera: Big, calm, gentle service
Laura Casaletto: Write your novel here! Posh, wonderful views, kid space is full of toys and xeroxes are free.
Alexander Paul: Watch people from the neighboring yacht club sail and boat while you are in a beautiful library with floor to ceiling windows. Awesome place
Leah Cordes: A wonderful library. Spacious and friendly staff. I lucked out and there was a book sale!! Nice that it's on the lake and Reeds Trail!
Jake Bailey: Great place to visit!
Denise Mondor-Gavern: They didn't have any of the books I was looking for. Very disappointed.
Carol Dykema: They were supreme. They were open when all Grand Rapids branches were closed for Thursday and Friday and they also offered free copy and fax service!!I had to get some information to the UIA and this library was a godsend. My only other choice was huge fee at Fedex or similar business for fax and copy services. They charge $1.99 per page for faxing.
Harvey Muller: It is great to be in a library again after a year of COVID pandemic. This is a wonderful, small but satisfying library. f they
D Minerov: Very nice Library. Excellent view of Reeds Lake. Quiet inside, respectful people. Nice place to read and access info. City office shares building. Parking is limited near building.

Ryan Welsh: Always a great experience for the whole family!
Robert Nichols: The librarians at the Ottawa Hills Branch are fantastic! It's great to have a branch in the neighborhood. We walk there a couple of times a week!
Trish Gruswitz: There is a book drop that you use through your driver door window! Masks were required but there were still toys available to play with. The staff was very helpful and their library systems are the most advanced I’ve seen. We’d like that we can return any GR library’s books to any location. We’re new to Grand Rapids but shall be library regulars.
Jeri: This branch of the library is fantastic. It's extremely convenient to return books (it's right there when you pull in the parking lot) and pick up holds in the new locker. Staff has always been incredibly kind and helpful. It's a nice size library, I come with young kids so there's just enough without being overwhelming for them. Also, GRPL has been doing little activity grab and go bags and they've been so much fun this summer, they've been a hit with us.
Mary A: Great staff, great collection, I always enjoy visiting this branch!
Thomas Holmes: We're happy they're still somewhat accessible these crazy Covid days. :)
