Rebekah Vander Werf: Miller Library is a wonderful place to sip your coffee and study!
Brett Kelp: Great staff and resources but hours of operation are too narrow. They open late on the weekends and close too early. Getting there to do homework can be difficult with part time schooling and full-time work.
Michael Reynolds: Great service but you close way to early. I can hardly ever get there make homework very very hard.

TheCHIEF BIGFAITH: I had ONE DAY in Grand Rapids & wanted to see a special collection ... On the library door they posted contact information for protocol about gaining admittance to view special collections during #COVID19 . so i called one of the phone ☎ numbers ..the lady didn't know what to do ..so i called Paul Fields ..i remember him from decades ago ...he came to the door & tried to help me ..then he went back in to talk to another person about it ...he returned & said the other person required a person to self-check their temperature for 3 straight days before they could be allowed in. Say What 😨❗ for one person to enter & view some manuscripts alone ? I had a mask. I've previously tested negative. & it sounded like the other person just made up a new rule on the spot ❕ these people are sitting up in the empty Library getting paid... with very little to do .. and they can't allow one healthy person to come in to view these manuscripts for 15 or 20 minutes (which happen to be my late grandfather's) ... and now I am going back out- of- state & I won't be able to return for another year . it's ridiculous and lazy and selfish ...maybe especially on the one person's part. (I think Paul Fields was trying to help but it was the other fellow who was being less than helpful ...less than concerned about trying to help me... More concerned about keeping people out) . disappointing 👎

I needed some last minute prints for a project, and was having some trouble figuring it out, and they stepped right up and helped me immensely. Rob T: So for my first time at the library I was on my way out with a friend, went to the elevator and hit floor 1, and went to the basement without hitting the LL button and we got stuck in the elevator for like 10 minutes, 5 minutes just me and my buddy then luckily a maintenance man heard me singing " hello, is it me your looking for, I see it in your eyes" then he popped up got in the elevator, so we had to explain what happen and the door shut, then we were really stuck with him, if he didn't get a bar on his phone it could of been a panic issue but his co worker came to the rescue on the outside of the elevator got us out and on our way to the back elevator for the loading dock. Holy cow was a crazy time. Survived a Elevator Crisis. Now I use the steps even though it hurts badly to use them, not chancing lol.. but beautiful place, and such friendly staff that help get you what you need or in the direction you need. Thank you all

Price -: To the self-righteous, holiers-than-thou complaining about the "homeless"... there may be a few, in the Public Library, but it is a huge multi-level building with plenty of empty tables to sit away from those you disapprove of. Go buy your own library. This one is clean, safe, and beautiful.
Rainy: Great community space and learning opportunities. The staff are always welcoming and helpful, and there are so many great resources to be found. Very inclusive and accepting of all people, and the main branch is pretty wheelchair friendly. And, of course, they have great books.
Damir “Grof” Kesar: One of the largest libraries in GR area, well stocked and with a lot of programs you would not expect at a library.Definitely recommend coming here.
QL QL: Not impressed overall. Homeless people live there. The old section (high ceiling like church) looks impressive but is still under renovation.
Rebecca Carrier: Great community resource and a wonderful selection of used books, DVDs, and CDs for sale on the 3rd floor for cheap

Daniel S: The library itself and the staff are very nice, but the homeless bums make it difficult to stay for long.They smell really bad! They talk to themselves, or others; sometimes loudly. The bathrooms they use for long periods of time. I see them eating, sleeping, shaving, and other weird things. But my biggest complaint is they smell!

The app is easy to use, the branches are conveniently placed around town, the staff are always welcoming and kind, and I appreciate library efforts to get involved in the communities of GR. The main library is beautiful and I could get lost looking at all the books and city records. Thanks GR for providing the public with an excellent library service!

I picked up some books through Melcat that my KDL Kentwood and East Grand Rapids branch didn’t carry.I don’t feel the same friendliness, comfort and atmosphere as I do at the KDL locations just mentioned. It’s an individual preference.It’s great that GRPL and KDL work in conjunction, great system.

Thalia Rasberry: The staff here are very rude to their guests. I simply asked to have a guest pass because I lost my library card and the would not me have one. I try helping my sister to learn how to read but some of the staff are preventing that from happening.
