Deb Rolf: I have been a patient here for many years and up until a few months ago felt my care was okay and up to standards.The person I see who is great is out on leave.I used My Chart to ask a medication question and immediately got a response back from a nurse that I would need to be referred out to a clinic specializing in my condition as my medication was making me lightheaded and yes it was an issue I had been dealing with for a few months.Is it not my physicians office job to regulate my medications? Even if it’s taking a while to find what works.I feel Spectrum Health is losing its compassion for the patients.They are becoming too big and the danger of this is your just a number to them.I sent a message back to this person in the office saying I would wait for the return of my person I see for September and a referral to a specialist clinic was not appropriate..I felt totally shoved off by the cardiologist office here and would consider finding somewhere else in the future if not for the one person there I see who does a good job.You have to be your own advocate for your care.Spectrum has become so big they are losing that individual care they use to provide each patient.It’s sad.You give the same response to everyone it’s not personal and your standard response does not hold much at all.

Debbie Rolf: I am a pacemaker patient who recently had surgery to replace my pacemaker battery this past week.I want to tell you that the 2 employees who are running the call in device clinic are rude and demeaning to the patients calling into them for help.Twice now both of them Heidi and Mellany have been beyond rude and condescending to me on the phone. I’m calling in because I need help! I don’t appreciate their rudeness telling me I’m calling them to much when I need help and don’t hear back from them within a reasonable time I am going to call them again and I should not be berated by them nor should any patient calling in for help.It is unacceptable and uncalled for to say the least.Something needs to be addressed with them!

Anita Reefer: I find it ironic that their name is “gaslight” family medicine, considering that’s all they do. These doctors are the laziest ones I’ve ever come across. They don’t help you with anything you are being seen for- they hand you a mental health survey, try to fill you with drugs, and send you out. Worst care I’ve ever had.I had seen these doctors at least 3 times complaining about my pain, each visit they tried to put me on anti anxiety medication and told me there’s nothing they could do because they don’t know the problem. Eventually I went to the emergency room and found that I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. This didn’t just happen once, it happened a few times with different problems. Each time they just tried to put me on anti anxiety medication.I really just hope no one dies over their lack of care and laziness.

Stephanie Phelps: Unfortunately, I have had a bad experience here. While Dr. Oostema has been a good doctor (good follow- up, takes time to explain everything thoroughly etc), I recently was quite ill and could not get an appointment despite repeated attempts and discussion with the staff.

Derrick Brown: We have been coming here for a little over a year with our kids. So far it has been a great experience. The doctors are attentive and the front desk has always been helpful.

Dan H: They're quote good. The doctors here are fantastic, but the office staff sometimes has trouble following up on things. They can usually schedule sick visits same day if you call first thing in the morning, they're extremely competent, and quite nice as well (although I'm more concerned with their care than their bedside manner :). I have been disappointed with the responsiveness of the office staff and nurses on occasion. I've had some problems with receiving followup on test results: on occasion they're not proactive about it, and I have to call and inquire about the results. When I do this, they've always been able to find the results and let me know if they were OK. On once recent occasion, one of the doctors followed up on something after hours because the nurses didn't get to it before they left for the day. I do appreciate the awesome work ethic of the doctors, but I wish that they could rely on their support staff to get things done for them.

GR Reviewer: Profiled me, didn't help and when asking for a referral was asked to "do some research and find a doctor on my own" in which they can write a referral for. Worst practice I've been to in years

Kristin Davison: I'm confused by the poor reviews. If anything, they are your average doctors' office. I saw Dr. Armstong once and she seemed capable and helpful. She was not the most personable or warmest, but helped me figure out the vision issue I had. I did tell her I had a knee issue at the same visit and was told to come back for another visit to discuss it. So, that was frustrating but I understand that they have limited time and can't always do everything. I will say that I went back to see Joshua Brinks FNP and he was amazing. He truly listened, cared, was knowledgeable, and came up with a plan to help me. I'd see him again and already told multiple people about how great he was. I wish I could see him as my primary care doctor.

Randy Johnson: The one star reviews here are totally off the mark. I was a patient of Dr. Phillips for many years, and was never less than totally satisfied. He went the "extra mile" for my late mother, not even a patient, but that's a story for another time. Google Dr. Brian Phillips Gaslight Family practice and read the reviews. And no one on his staff gets less than three.

Chloé: I have never been more upset, embarrassed or unhappy with a doctors office in my life. You're better off going to a walk in clinic. I have been a patient here for years and am finally throwing in the towel. The other two reviews on here are absolutely correct. They refuse to work with my other doctors, dodge calls, have referred me to other doctors I have had poor experiences with, they have withheld important (non addictive, can't OD on) medication until I am completely out and suffering withdrawal symptoms... not to mention I have been placed into a stereotype that I most certainly don't fit in. My new doctor, friends, family, therapist... they have all witnessed this practice being uncooperative, unresponsive, rude and judgmental. My new doctor and other medical professionals have told me they have never had so much trouble dealing with a GP office before. Don't make the same mistake I did for far too long, find a better doctor in the area.

Why have phones to a health clinic if staff don’t answer. I swear if I ever get a bill from here I will never pay them. Better yet I will report them to my insurance agency. Seems like there recording will tell me if they’re closed. I swear these health care facilities going to make me be convinced that natural remedies is better then depressing clinics. Especially this one. It’s time for me to call it quits with this clinic.

Can't get ahold of anyone. aAfter not getting the results for 9 days now I called his doctors that sent me there and they said the lab never got a sample or it was now lost . To top it off, when I brought my son in and told the nurse I may have got sick from him, She said I should base whether I have it off his results. I thought that was peculiar.. Also she only gave him a test up one nostril... I know people do it that way sometimes but if it's not as accurate why even do it..If someone messes up with your testing dont call because you wont talk to anyone. If you have concerns about anything call whoever sent you to this (place)

Tamara Hill: I have been taking my grand kids here for 2 years. Dr. Bender (now Kilner) USED to be an awesome doctor. Coincidence or not, since her name change, she is extremely rude and finds pleasure in talking down to people. This has happened on More than one occasion. The nurses are no better. Very rude and if you ask questions, they enjoy giving smart answers like you are the dumbest person Alive. Call backs take 2 or more days as well. If the nurses weren't just as rude, I would just change doctors but since that is not the case, we will be transferring to a new office. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CLINIC

Joseph Kilner: Great clinic, phenomenal staff, and providers. Love being a patient here. They even have a room dedicated to donations for families in need: We have donated cribs, baby clothes, diapers, changing tables, all from our own generous neighborhood. Its obvious they care for the whole patient there and for the community, I would recommend to anyone!

Shana Gordon: The worst doctor office ever. Me and my family has been there for 12+ years. They have all new doctors and they dont seem to care as much. Wouldnt recommend this office to anyone. THE WORST EVER!! The doctor Brianna Bender very bad attitude. Larry Minter: I was hung up on twice by two different nurses both were trying to talk while I was talking had a emergency had been out of a medication for a week was told the doctor wasn't in and it would take up to 24 to 48 hours for them to review my case for a medication that I was on a taper for. I would not recommended this clinic to a dog there's nothing working there mostly but a bunch of rude Mexicans I'm not prejudice by far but this clinic sucks ass

Selena Gardiner: Hands down, the best care I've ever received. Every single worker there was nothing but kind. For once, I actually felt like a medical office cared about me. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who has struggled with rude doctors in the past. This is a place that truly wants to see you get better. They helped us apply for health insurance and got us in for an appointment the same day. They are absolutely incredible! I wont ever go anywhere else.

Alaq Almedrase: Worst clinic I've in michigan, the worst and the most disrespectful and rude employees there.I was their customer I became their customer as a refugee, and I had to active my health insurance after the 8 months, and they asked me to make interview with Katrina after I made the interview and filled the application, she told me to bring my bank statement, and that she will call me and after I did what she asked me for. I didn't receive any phone call. when I went to the doctor and told them about my issue thry told me to make appointment with Katrina again. and theu didnt allow me to see the doctor again while I was in need to her till I make the interview with Katrina again since I made it befoer. and they transferred me to Katrina and when I asked her why do I have to make another appointment with you, she said cause I told you that you have to call the number I gave you and to bring a bank statement and you didn't do. while I did bring tje bank statement and I gave it to Karmen to give it to her,and she didnt ask me to call any thing she just asked me for a bank statement and I gave it to Karmen the ' front desk'after all this she talked to me in direspectfull way, she was very rude to me.after that she hang out the phone on me. and I asked them if I can meet with another person. they told me to go to the DHS to fill an application.above all this when I saw the doctor she wrote a 3 prescriptionsfor me while I received just 1 and when I called the nurse, she told me that you can get the others but thry will charge you. " since I used to get it for free, since my insurance was not activated"and the forced me to see Katrina again to active my insurance so I will be able to buy my other medications, while it was very important medications.I told them I don't want to meet with someone like her cause she is very disrespectful and mean person. and I cant afford to pay for the madison and I'm in need to it and I bought the previous for free with the same prescription.they didn't allow me.I'm anyone wants to go there, to go to another health center. because here they are very disrespectful and rude agencies and customer serviceand they dont have feeling upon their patients, neither a mercy.I won't ever step to there again.

Tonya Patrick: Dr.Briana Bender of the Browning Claytor Health Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan is the most incompetent general practitioner that I or my husband have ever had the displeasure of seeing. Refuses to write me a prescription for Copaxone even though I am unable to see a Neurologist until December 11th (they are all booked on my side of the state). Told me GP's couldnt prescribe Copaxone. Shared Solutions tells me they can but it depends on the doctor.I told her of all the side effects and she still refused to prescribe even for the 1-2 months that would have gotten me from my prescription ending on 10/31 to my 12/11 Neuro appointment. In addition she has a NASTY habit of sticking needles willy nilly (no pain medications or anything soothing for the digit) into my husband's giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath - possibly seeding the surrounding area with additional tumors. Avoid Dr. Briana Bender and the Browning Claytor Health Center like the plague. Actually, having the plague would probably be better than setting foot in this place. Seeing Dr. Spaceman from 30 Rock would be better than seeing Dr. Bender. By a LARGE margin!

DJ Wade Brown: DR. Heather Bunting is absolutely amazing! She is by far the best M D that I've seen in my 40 years of being here on this crazy place. I totally trust her and she definitely takes more time out of her day to talk to her patients then anyone else I've gone to. She deserves an award 🏆! Thanks for doing a great job. 😁
