Roam by San Chez: what do users think?
Eric Decker: I wish I could eat everything on the menu.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Jeff Young: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Jessy Valentine: The fish and chips i ordered was well prepared and tasted good but it was the only option on the menu i could order and I wasnt really in the mood for it. This one doesnt cater to easily upset stomach, everything is pork, cheese, or spicy.Wheelchair accessibility: I use a wheelchair and it was not easy to get through, they do provide a ramp but the tables are densely packed. When leaving i had to get out of my wheelchair and hop down two stairs because there was no room to get back to the ramp.
Dan Holmes: You like your taste buds don't you? But you probably take them for granted. Maybe you go days, even weeks without even thinking about your taste buds. How do you sleep at night? Ignoring your trusty ol' buds like that? Here's a way to treat your buds to a special gift: dine at Roam. Your buds will do a cartwheel. Not literally. That would be a health risk.Roam offers street food from around the world. Without having to leave Michigan, you can taste menu items from Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, you name it.Do you have a hard time making everyone in your party happy? That won't happen at Roam. Everyone can find something they love.
Michelle Belanger: Great place to explore different foods and flavors!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Greg Mckellar: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Caitlin W.: I ordered the Singapore curry, a vegetarian (I think vegan, actually) coconut curry with tofu, potatoes, and other vegetables. There were some pickled onions included that were a really nice contrast to the other flavors. It came with white rice and some tasty paratha. It was all good. The restaurant has some neat lanterns hanging from the ceiling, but I didn't get a picture of them. My server was efficient and friendly. It's a bit on the pricey side, but not outrageous.
C F: Decent enough for a small bite/drink. The veggies with the hummus looked like they found them in the bottom of the bin, the burgers were very greasy- like puddle of grease on the plate that soaked through the bun/sit in your stomach heavily for hours type, the fried potato bites i really wanted to be good but they did not have any flavor beyond potato/oil. I'm thinking it was an off day.
Tegan Jenkins: Great food and I really like their street food themeFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Hash Balls, Banh MI …More
C.G.L.: Elevated dishes from around the world served by attentive staff in a laid back atmosphere.
Ani Sarkar: Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian optionsFood: 5/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Paratha Tacos, Mango Sticky Rice, Kati Roll …More
Allen Ross: Many interesting dishes for a diverse selection of tastes. Recommend sharing dishes between several people as I would not have wanted to eat a couple of our dishes as a single entree. The Bao were fab! If I was to get a single entree, the Bao would be it.
Brett Dilley: This place is almost perfect. Eclectic, they have vegetables, international flair, etc. I had the skewers though and they were like rubber. Great drink. Tasted like an Astro pop. Spare ribs were assumed incorrectly to be like kalbi...they were a pile of just spare ribs without a sharp enough knife to attack them.Service was very attentive, ambiance is good as well.
Lilly Baker: I only went here once, but I wasn't overly impressed with the menu options, especially for the price point. Off course that is just my personal opinion, but I probably won't be back. I did have a fun cocktail that had a popsicle in it, but the food wasn't as good or as much of quantity as we were hoping for the prices.
Joseph Messer: Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Explore With Steggie: Fantastic experience! We will definitely add Roam to our regular restaurant rotation. Loved the vibe! Slim but good wine list. The apps were really my favorite part of the menu. I may just focus on starters and wine next time. Several vegetarian options. Our server, Ashley, was very attentive and gave great suggestions on the food and the wine. We took the Mango Sticky Rice to go.Vegetarian options: Loved the Hash Balls, Samosas, and Suppli. All were vegetarian appetizers and so delicious!
Jodi Smith: Walking by & found this gem of a restaurant. The curry delicious, but the mango sticky rice was straight up life changing! Our server Alfie made some fantastic recommendations that helped us eat gluten free & was so good about checking on us - we're only in town for a few days but will likely eat here again.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Mango Sticky Rice …More
David Kreter: Soggy fries cold burger for $20Food: 1/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Brent Parzuchowski: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Kati RollMore
Nathan Ver Beek: We have had ROAM on the list to visit for a long time and we finally got a chance today. We should have come much sooner! The poké bowl and kimchi bokkeumbop were both excellent. Highly recommend adding the seared ahi tuna to the kimchi.Service was super fast and friendly. We will absolutely return again to try more menu items.
Shilpa Mathew: Loved the place!! Went with colleagues and wanted to take my family there.Food was really good with distinct options and tasty too..Recommended dishes Kati Roll, Gua Bao, Poutine, Paratha Tacos …More

MDRD: what do users think?
Shane Dunkin: Excellent service! Atmosphere is awesome. Food was flavorful and creative. I would highly recommend.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes The Expat, Beef Tartare, Tapas, Pulpo a La Gallega …More
Marianne Pytel: Went here for Mother’s Day dinner. What a wonderful experience. Tapas brought to a new level.Recommended dishes Croquetas De Champiñónes, Costillas De Cordero Lamb Chop, Patatas Bravas …More
Chen Seleena: I have been here twice so far and both times we experienced top notch service, food, drinks, ambiance and views.Sophisticated dining for date nights and any special occasions. For tapas, highly recommend grilled octopus, angus beef roasted bone marrow, and medjool dates. For mains, scallops, skate wings and dry aged duck breast are absolutely delicious. For desserts, El Limón and Árbol De Caramelo both in terms of presentation and taste are just phenomenal!!I would also like to give the amazing, attentive, knowledgeable servers Alyssa and Lauren a big shout out!
Charles P. Rutherford II: Top 3 best meals of my life. Drinks list was fantastic, the view from the top of the hotel was amazing and the food was absolutely incredible. We visited on a Tues and patrons were dressed to impress.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Deena Sheidler: I made a trip here while at Tulip Time this year and what a treat!Every member of the staff was on top of our needs. The drinks were fantastic and the tapas really were fantastic. Desserts were entirely unique as I had never experienced anything so beautiful to look at and magical to eat.I will be back 🙂
Alex Bengtson: Yeah this place is absolutely perfect. From the service, to the wine, to the cuisine, to the views. Wow.
Gabrielle Hensch: Everything is super beautiful here. From the decor to the view to the presentation of the food, it's all beautiful. I will say that as someone who doesn't eat most meats or seafood, the menu was a bit intimidating but I ended up getting several of the appetizers as my main meal as well as some beautiful drinks and dessert. Definitely recommend!
Jehan S.: This place is a fantastic rooftop bar and restaurant. The service is incredible and the food and drinks are even better!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Brandon's Equipment Videos: I was invited to MDRD for a special occasion. I had never heard of this restaurant, but after looking at other reviews, I developed high expectations. I do have to say that MDRD lived up to those expectations! The view from the 27th floor is great. Brandon, our server, was very patient with explaining the different food options to our party and accommodating our requests. Our meals started with an olive garnish. Green olives are not my favorite, but it was still a nice touch. We ordered several tapas, which are essentially smaller plates of food that can be shared with the whole table. I highly recommend the lamb chops, they were by far my favorite dish that I tasted that night! I also enjoyed the prawns. The jamon y queso tapa was not my favorite, but everybody else seemed to enjoy it. For my main course I had the ribeye steak. The steak was very flavorful and cooked to my liking. I love how the ribeye was bone in, as that adds a lot of flavor. Of course, this restaurant is expensive, but that goes without saying. If you are looking for a unique fine dining experience in the Grand Rapids area, this would definitely be one of my top picks!
Julie: We had a reservation 3 months out for our anniversary and they sat us at the worst table in the whole restaurant. We were within 10” of each table next to us with no window view. The only reason this restaurant has 5 star reviews is because of the views. I’m not spending $200 on a meal to sit elbow to elbow with other diners. The food was mediocre and the drinks were overpriced… so many other restaurants and bars have better options for this price range. We took our business to Leo’s.Parking: Half price with validation
Shannon Klee: It's definitely not worth it based on food tasteFood: 2/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Debbie Tyler: My husband and I shared the salmon app, small paella and dates instead of dessert. My husband had the Expat bourbon cocktail. Although still very good, the paella was our least favorite. The others were some of the best we’ve ever had. Our service was excellent and the ambiance aligned with the experience- top notch!
Al Roberts: Great food and Adam was an awesome bartender!
David: Very good service. Really nice views of downtown area. Nice private room for small parties. Drinks we very good. Food obviously was amazing. Croquetas and lamb chops were my favorite. We kept either the Talas menus.Parking: Parking was downstairs super easy
Luke Vanslambrouck: Mitch was an excellent server! Great recommendations. Very personable. Oh and the view lol.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Tapas …More
Randi Claybaugh: The perfect date night/special occasion spot. Do yourself a favor and get a reservation during sunset.
Sarah Gebben: A rating of five stars is insufficient for this dining experience! Higher ratings should be available for establishments such as this! My husband and I had our first dining experience here for my birthday, after the recommendation of a friend. Parking validation for half of the parking fee is available conveniently across the street. The views from any table in the restaurant are breathtaking. Our taste buds were set alight with the main courses that we ordered. I had the lobster paella and he had the filet a la plancha. Both brought exquisite high def flavors to our taste buds! We completed the experience with the limon dessert, and I am still left puzzled as to how they worked such culinary magic with that creation! We are so fortunate to live in a town with such a world class restaurant at our fingertips!
william jackson: If you're celebrating something special or if exceptional is your norm, MDRD will not disappoint. Great food, great service, great atmosphere.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Pulpo a La Gallega, Gambas Al Ajillo, Patatas Bravas, Tartar De Ternera …More
Kyle H.: Brought my partner here on a special date and was not disappointed. Second time dining at MDRD and this time was ever better than the last. We had an idea of we wanted to order, but our server helped steer our choices toward some of the staff picks. I would definitely suggest asking what your server likes, because you won’t be disappointed!
