We spoke with someone last night , Yani, who was on call for the weekend; he assessed our situation and talked us through options that might need to be explored so we had a price point going into the normal workday hours. When I called at 8am, Diana was absolutely incredible (listening to my sleep-deprived attempts to discuss the history of our home and our situation) while talking us through the next steps (being contacted by a dispatcher and having service between 2-4). Jordan called shortly before 2 and advised he could have someone here within half an hour - down to the minute, Jason arrived and was an answer to prayer. As two new first-time-homeowners, we had no idea what to do about our basement taking on water; Jason explained everything as he was doing it and made sure we were aware of price points as we went along, and explained everything to us in a way we could understand. I told him before he left, he spoke like a dad; I felt comfortable with how he engaged with us and made sure we were informed every step of the way - and was honest about temporary fixes versus long term repairs we’d need to make down the road. I called Roto-Rooter and they got a qualified professional to me in LESS THAN 24 HOURS- and it wasn't even a bad or dangerous leak, just a minor inconvenience that they took seriously.Everyone, and I mean everyone, I interacted with was kind, professional, and knew what they were doing. Jenny got my concern out to George right away, and he called me back to set up a technician appointment not even 20 minutes later. At the appointment, Jason called ahead to share his ETA, was here promptly, and was finished in a full hour less than the planned time frame because he was so knowledgeable and proficient. He was even happy to let my dog be his helper. Jason had all the necessary tools on hand and examined the drain lines in my basement just to be sure he took the right care with my 100+ year old house. Mary Brandt: Had you folks out last week on Wednesday the 10th I believe, called to get someone to repair two outlets and a ceiling fan that weren't working. Nikki who received my call was quite nice, and even able to get me a same day appointment when a couple electricians ended a job early. Unfortunately that was the extent of my positive experiences. The electricians arrived I believe 30-45 min later than I was told. As the work went on, I had a few questions from time to time, but he always seemed confused and never had any answers for me. I asked if he knew what was wrong, he said I don't know. I asked if he could estimate how much more time he'd need, he said I don't know. I asked if he had any ideas of what the problem *could* be, he said I don't know. I asked if he could refer another company or electrician who might know more, he said I don't know. I asked if it's safe, he said I don't know. About five minutes after informing me I'd need to buy another block of their time, he tells me they need to cut into my drywall to keep going in a room full of sensitive plants and aquariums that I haven't prepped for this. I ask him if he has any idea what could be going on before he does this; I literally get a shrug. I tell them I can't proceed at this time and thanks anyways, so they cap off the wires on my ceiling fan and shut off the circuit, leave disposable booties and dust and my heavy now unplugged appliances on the floor, and leave. As a kicker to all of this, the $99 "dispatch fee" I was lead to believe on the phone was a deposit and would be refunded/not charged if I paid them for work, was still charged to me. I was informed by the electrician that apparently it's only removed if I purchase the right sort of package or job or something. THAT policy *really* needs to change; I understand holding money in case a client doesn't answer the door or the jobsite isn't safe for your crew, but this is ridiculous. I paid out $325 in the end for your people to tell me nothing and leave a mess. I found the whole experience subpar and stressful, and will not be recommending your company to others. Todd Hill: Do not underestimate the importance of gas. Most people think about water when they think of plumber. My gas lines for my new washer needed to be replaced. It was a rigged copper tubing that needed to be replaced. He installed a brand new utility sink, put on brand new washer hookups and put in the new gas line. The entire project was done in a matter of a few hours and it was done perfectly. Get Adam if you can.

Joanne Eighmey: What did I not like about this business? Poor customer service and appearance of deception were not listed! I would recommend that you look elsewhere for plumbing work from this company. Giving this company a one star rating only because of the performance of the water heater itself - not for the benefit of the company. We were in a tight spot and they took a costly advantage of it. We had a leaky water heater issue that escalated rapidly and we had to turn water off for a few days. They came and told us of different levels of service for which we chose the lowest possible level - with a quote of just shy of $4000 - to replace a water heater!! The work was performed while I was at work (my husband was home). Everything looked all shiny & new. I was a bit alarmed with the final price tag so I called the company and asked if I could have an itemized statement. The manager was quite rude and asked what I was going to do with it. I told him that I wanted it for my records & he informed me they didn't give out itemized statements. He told me we received everything that we had signed up for & eventually, he hung up on me after I told him I thought we had a right to know what we paid for. No transparency gave me the impression he may be trying to keep something from us because of his unwillingness to discuss it further. Felt taken advantage of. Had 4ft piece of 2 inch pvc pipe approximately $15.00 at Home Depot 1 pvc fitting approximately $5.00 at Home Depot and a rubber boot maybe $10.00 and a $2.00 hanger . Made 1 cut with saw took total of about a half hour . Cost just shy of $500.00 and that was the bronze package. Gold package was just shy of $1000.00 . That comes out to a labor rate of about $900.00 per hour. I understand they need to make money. Probably could have hired the government to fix it for less with 5 other people standing around.

There are many issues I could mention—like the fact that they sent the same technician to our house as an AC expert one day and a plumbing expert a different day—but perhaps the biggest problem is their pricing scheme. Our furnace stopped working so they came out promptly, looked at the furnace and was told that a blower was the problem and it would be $1100 to repair. Perfect- they fixed it that day and the furnace started working. For 24 hours. Then it stopped again. I called them and they sent a tech out that day who said it will be another $1000 to fix it. I called and asked why this wasn't fixed the first time they were out? The lady who answered the phone said she would call be back "when she could give more educated answers and so I sound like I know what I'm talking about" and did about an hour later. She basically said I was a liar, that I was told about this problem along with the one that was fixed and that I declined to fix it, and there was nothing else that they could do for me. Well, she was right about one thing which is there is nothing that they will be doing for me. I feel like I was taken advantage of and if I could give them less then one star I would.

Judith Stroh: So incredibly disappointed with Godwin Plumbing right now! We have used Godwin for DECADES and have always had excellent service, however that has not been the case this past week. We called bc our water heater (which Godwin just replaced in 2019) was leaking. The tech came out and said that it would need to be replaced. When my husband called to schedule the replacement appointment they said that we would have to pay the full installation fee of $105/hour because the water heater was under warranty but the service was not. I, personally, think they should at least do the service for a reduced rate since the product that THEY put in was obviously defective. We have since talked to someone that does plumbing and he said that he stopped putting in that brand of water heater because there were so many problems. Having to possibly pay up to $400+ for the installation of a faulty product that we just paid to have put in a few years ago is bad enough, but then, after scheduling the appointment for the replacement and speaking to the manager about how disappointed we were in the replacement cost, my husband took the day off for the installation. When it was about an hour past the appointment time that they told us, my husband called to see if they were on their way and that same manager told us that he took us off the schedule because he "ASSUMED" that because we were upset with the cost that we wouldn't want the replacement. SO, my husband has wasted a PTO day to sit at home for nothing. The manager then told him that they couldn't get out until Monday, meaning my husband would have to take another day. After insisting that it was poor customer service that he would have to sacrifice another day off of they admitted was THEIR mistake, the manager agreed to have them come out on Saturday to get it done. On top of it all, we have now gone without hot water for a week (*note - the leak was NOT causing us to not have water before the tech came, but since he was there, we have not been able to get the pilot to relight). So disappointed in the very poor customer service, the rudeness and attitude of the manager and the lack of company responsibility. We certainly do not blame the techs. They have always been hard working and pleasant, but I think it might be time to find a new company that backs up the products that they install AND have better management!!!Service:Water heater installation
